Rubio No Savior: Trump and Clinton Rack Up Huge Victories, Cruz Second, Rubio Flounders

Those who believe Marco Rubio is going to be the GOP savior had those hopes dashed on the hard rocks of reality on this Super Tuesday. The only way Rubio can be the Republican nominee is a brokered convention.

Final results are not in but, Trump and Clinton have had huge nights. Bernie Sanders is finished as anyone with any bit of common sense knew long ago.

Reuters reports Trump, Clinton Rack Up Big Wins on U.S. Super Tuesday.

Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton rolled up a series of big primary wins on Tuesday, as the two presidential front-runners looked to take command of their party nominating battles on the 2016 campaign’s biggest night of voting.

But Republican Ted Cruz, a U.S. senator from Texas, won his home state and neighboring Oklahoma, bolstering his argument he had the best chance to stop the controversial Trump. U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, the favorite of the Republican establishment, had yet to register a win.

U.S. networks projected Trump won five states and Clinton won six states on Super Tuesday, when 12 states were voting. Trump won Alabama, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Virginia, while Clinton won Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Rubio looks like burnt toast. Yet Nate Silver recently had the odds of Trump winning at 50%, Rubio at 40%, and Cruz at 10%. Is Silver counting on a near 50% chance of a brokered convention?
