Trump Scrambles to Deploy ICE Agents at Airports as Lines Mount

As airport lines lengthen, Trump Reacts with Ice agents.

ICE Airport Scramble

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Administration Scrambles to Deploy ICE Agents at Airports.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers will begin trying to ease bottlenecks at airports on Monday, as the Trump administration scrambles to develop a plan to end hourslong security lines amid a partial government shutdown.

President Trump said in several social-media posts over the weekend that ICE agents would help at airports if a deal wasn’t reached by Congress to fund the Department of Homeland Security. His first post Saturday came as a surprise to officials inside ICE and at DHS, who have spent the weekend trying to figure out how it could work, according to three people familiar with the matter.

White House border czar Tom Homan said in an interview with CNN Sunday that ICE officials could monitor exit lanes to make sure people don’t enter through them, or check identification before passengers enter the screening area to free up officers to move customers through the lines with body scans and X-rays.

“We’re trying to release TSA resources to get to positions that they really need expertise in, like the X-ray screening,” Homan told “Fox News Sunday.” The White House noted that Homan said that the plan was a work in progress and would be hashed out by the end of the day on Sunday.

Travelers on social media reported hourslong waits over the weekend to get through Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at airports serving New York City, Atlanta and Houston.

The issue stems from an impasse in Congress over funding the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees immigration enforcement in addition to the TSA. Democrats have been holding up funding in exchange for new limits on the power of ICE officers, including requiring them to wear proper identification and banning masks.

It remains unclear exactly what ICE’s presence at airports will look like Monday. ICE has officers stationed at nearly all major airports, and they will receive roughly a day of cursory training before being sent out to assist TSA officers, two of the people familiar with the plan said.

Officials at ICE and DHS expressed frustration with the plan, saying it will distract from Trump’s core goal of deporting as many people in the country illegally as possible. They also said the move could take away from Republicans’ leverage in the funding fight should Trump’s plan succeed in reducing airport security times without Democrats giving in.

How Long Can This Go On?

It’s a factor of two competing ideas. The first is who gets the blame.

If the public blames Republicans more then Democrats, this can last until Democrats get what they want.

If so, then how stubborn will Republicans/Democrats be?

At some point both sides will seek to declare victory. My guess is Democrats get most of what they want.

If agreement is reached before the SAVE Act is officially discarded (and it will be discarded), it will be interesting to watch House Republicans discard their “nothing passes until SAVE does” bluff.

Standard Operating Procedure for TSA Agents: Wear standard uniform with photo ID displayed at all times
SOP for ICE Agents: Wear combat gear with multiple guns, full face mask and no ID visible, respond to requests for ID with “F*#K you, lie down on the floor face down”.

What could go wrong?

I sure hope all the moderate republican and independents see this for what it is. I think part of the problem is they have changed the narrative from policy to an us against them issue.

America’s most profitable business is still: the manufacture, packaging, distribution and marketing of bullshit.

High-quality, grade-A, prime-cut, pure, American bullshit. And the sad part is, is that most people seem to have been indoctrinated to believe that bullshit only comes from certain places, certain sources: advertising, politics, salesmen—not true. Bullshit is everywhere.

Bullshit is rampant. Parents are full of shit, teachers are full of shit, clergymen are full of shit, and law enforcement people are full…of…shit—this entire country.

This entire country is completely full of shit, and always has been.

From the Declaration of Independence to the Constitution to the Star-Spangled Banner, it’s still nothing more than one big steaming pile of red, white, and blue, all-American bullshit.”

That control gives them leverage to demand reparations for the damage done by the US and Israel.

A Chinese owner and crew tanker also went through last night.

There are no tankers re-fueling at Kharg Island, so Irans loadings/shipments are meager at best.

A few tankers are now docked in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE’s refueling ports. No change in straits activity is evident on ship-finder.org. This entire closure continues to be voluntary by the gulf states in my opinion and is squeezing trumps uglies in a big way.

The longer this goes on, the greater the likelihood that the Arab states and OPEC tell Trump to pound sand and get back to supplying the world with oil.

– Do Not Want To Die For Israel’: Doubts About Trump’s Iran Strategy Spread Among Troops. > They are soldiers and are supposed to be trained to do a few things. Most importantly “Follow Orders” and of course another is to Respect your Leader. These are not negotiable terms being a soldier. How weak is out damn army? Do they know what being a soldier means? The Military “Owns You” once you join, and if you don’t know that, then you’re pretty naive, as it’s been that way for many, many decades. Has our military become crying little babies that changed their minds when it gets hot out there? Sh#$ we are toast if we have a bunch of Karen’s in our Military. It’s bad enough they are using girls restrooms, wearing dresses and want to be called them/there’s or whatever…

Soldiers = A soldier is a person who is a member of an army. A killing/fighting force!! Did we lose our way? Did they Sign up to be babysitters, and sew quilts together? WTF?

– “I’m hearing out of service members’ mouths the words… Can they be courtmartialed? Sent to the front lines? When did they become insubordinate like high school kids? Did they know what being in the Military can mean? We don’t want or need soldiers like this, or we won’t have an army in a few days. They might as well roll up in a ball, with there thumbs in there mouths… Man we are fast becoming a very weak Nation!!! Maybe your American version of democracy is reaching the end of its useful life. I think it is the sort of thing that is only really suited to a growing, prosperous frontier society like the one you once had.

Countries that are militarily significant but have big and dangerous neighbors need to have clear lines of authority at all times. That is why the major European countries remained monarchies long after the English had developed a messy but entertaining parliamentary system.

I gather that your system was developed out of the system of fixed-term office-holders used in Masonic lodges. That may have worked in the thirteen colonies. Now that you have to stand ready to fight all comers at all times, it doesn’t work so well. I’m not condemning Trump, but in parliamentary systems, the head of government doesn’t have a fixed term. He remains in charge only as long as he retains the confidence of his party at least. Oppositions don’t get to paralyze the government, even with the support of the media, as oppositions did in your country to President Nixon and to President Trump in his first term.

You might also note that, at least in legend, Rome was originally a monarchy, then it became a republic. Then, when it became too large and perhaps too degenerate to survive as a republic, it became an empire. No doubt its military evolution played a part in this too. The soldiers of later times were full-time professionals, and not landowners any more. Your leaders today are nothing like Washington and Jefferson. Some of your recent presidents have obviously been patsies, incapable of making decisions of any importance themselves.

A system that isn’t working any more will change one way or another. Has it occurred to any of you that, as somebody said a day or two ago, the fact that the Persians were able to get a missile almost to the Diego Garcia base shows that they could also reach the major cities of Europe with their missiles? Trump may be doing those ungrateful Europeans a favor, and being condemned for it by all. A system that allows mindless fools to pull down capable and responsible men is not a system that is working well.

The United States has a “first past the post” electoral system, meaning that only one person can be elected from a voting district. This type of electoral system generally results in a two party system, as smaller ideological groups have to join together into larger parties in order to have any chance of electoral influence. The United States also has not increased the number of elected officials as the population has exploded. The United States also has essentially no limits on financial influence in elections. Put these things together and you get a system where the very wealthy have almost total control over who gets elected. The very wealthy don’t agree on everything, hence the two parties. But they do agree on a lot: unbridled capitalism at home and abroad (because that is how they got wealthy to begin with), and US military power (because they want to expand their wealth globally). They control US media on both the left and right. So the American people are constantly propagandized to support them. And they do. The original constitution would just need a few minor tweaks to fix all of this, but it will never be discussed in the US media, and the American people don’t have the civics education to come up with it by themselves. So it is not a fixable situation.

Ignoring the massive cost and debt that will come to the US as a result of this war? What financial gains are there?

  1. Windfall profits from the sale of refined oil products.
  2. Windfall profits from the sale of LNG.
  3. Windfall profits from the sale of Helium and control of the supply of helium for the production of computer chips.
  4. Balance of trade shifts because of increased exports of energy related products combined with fewer import availability.

Higher prices for US crops held in storage.

Fertilizer shortages and high costs result in lower yields or farmers not planting crops at all. This reduces new supply.

The US has huge inventories of crops in storage given the record yields of the past few years and reductions of US exports due to the tariffs causing China and Asia to shift purchases to Brazil, Argentina, Russia and Australia.

This may not benefit farmers given the fact that they sold their crops for the most part. Those that were trapped storing their own crops because they could not sell because storage facilities were full will do well and may not even have to plant this year.

Many are already bankrupt unfortunately.

Interesting. Farmer bankruptcies are still very low and at about 50% lower than the past 16 years historical average. Yes, they are up in 2025 but historically low. Where do you get your info?

I know a couple of farmers and yes, the tariffs were a challenge but they just planted other crops instead of Soybeans which is the main china crop. Remember, the war in Ukraine reduced a lot of Ukraine crops which benefited USA farmers and still is. Bankruptcies plummeted after the start of the 2022 Ukraine war.

https://www.fb.org/imgz/Analysis/MarketIntel/_w900/historical-bankruptcies-and-farm-operations.png

That being said, more small farms are being bought out by corporations because they cannot afford a lot of the equipment needed to farm these days. That is the really challenge.

Letting armed, masked and unidentifiable people loose in an airport would be the stupidest security decision this decade – any terrorist would be salivating at the opportunities presented to be masked and walk in a hugely crowded area, of huge economic significance and not even having to hide their machine gun before firing away.

Noone would stop them because noone would question an ICE psycho who are known to shoot people because they don’t like the look of them. Or out of boredom.

Just amazing stupidity.

Trump has two weeks left before everything falls apart.

https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/22/iran-war-strait-of-hormuz-trump-oil-prices-economy.html

Oil and energy market expert John Kilduff of Again Capital told CFOs on the call that traders see the situation in much the same way: a roughly two-week deadline for a resolution before oil prices spike even more sharply and the global economy has to start preparing for energy shortages in Asia and the reining in of industrial activity.

Asian economies crashing will probably be the first thing worldwide.
Airlines going bankrupt will probably be the first thing to happen in US.
Fuel surcharges on everything from trucking, flying, boating will cause massive inflation and disruption.
Banks failing up next.

And then the cherry on the cake is the stock market crashing hard.

You enjoying your winning yet MAGA? But hey, you own the libs! Lol.

Do worry, Trump will find a way to make things even worse.™
And don’t worry about me, I’m gonna profit from all of this!

You don’t have to worry about the stonk market crashing because it has already started. The next 2 weeks are ripe for a crash because the 20 week cycle is due to bottom. Additionally, it is possible for the cycle to invert, which means the next 20 week cycle will just keep falling for an additional 8-10 weeks before bottoming and starting a counter trend rally.

I’m not worried about it, I am waiting to bank profits. I haven’t been writing “Got Puts?” for sh!ts and giggles. The harder the crash the bigger the profits. First thing tomorrow morning I am going to buy more puts.

Stonks already surged upward so far today because of the coming “peace talks” (lies). It’s a sad commentary on how illusory all of this is. Trump says some make believe nonsense which IBD had to admit the Iranians totally denied, and there is a huge rally. What a joke. I doubt it will last.

It’s less of a scramble rather it is simply just an executive decision to solve a problem. He knows how to solve problems. This is just another one in a long line.

Mish, Iran and tariffs are separate topics. In this instance, Trump made an executive decision and brought in additional help for the TSA and from what I am reading, it is working. Congress is responsible for this debacle.

Trump will probably back down over DHS funding in exchange for passage of his “supplemental” for Operation Epic Fuckup. Hopefully Dems will reject a single penny going for that fiasco.

At this rate Trump will release the Epstein files to distract people from the war that he started to distract them from the Epstein files!

Now that’s funny. More people will get it in a few weeks when the disastrous nature of this morass will be impossible to hide. There are still a lot of people who believe there are only 13 dead Americans and that the Marines can open up the Strait of Hormuz.

Most people don’t even know the strait of Hormuz exists.
