Key Changes and Improvements

  1. I am moving off the Maven (Arena) platform back to WordPress. This will give me more control over the layout, ads, and comments.
  2. The URLs will not change.
  3. All existing users and comments will migrate. 
  4. Gary Brode at Deep Knowledge Investing has invited me to be on his board of advisors. We will do some cross posting of articles including actionable investment ideas from Gary Brode in addition to my normal macroeconomic perspective. 
  5. I am working with other guest posters as well, so expect more content variety. 

Schedule and Comment Freeze

There will be a comment freeze (they will be disabled) for 2-3 days starting Monday , June 12. 

Mishtalk will still be up during the outage, and I will migrate any new posts after the server flip. 

It may take Google a while to crawl the new servers, so perhaps some flaky things happen for a day or so, but perhaps not given there is no URL change.

it would be great for you to carefully consider the new platform rules for commenters. I personally like wolfstreet’s platform rules although some may deem them too harsh. the most relevant rule is to stick to the topic at hand. Too many commenters will post idiotic things like “It’s all Biden’s open borders policy fault” on a post about credit card debt or the Fed’s recent FOMC decision.
And of course be transparent about what type of comments will get you banned here.
I also hope there is an ‘ignore’ feature because the other problem is the endless and pointless vitriol from the same posters which I won’t name.

Great stuff Mish; growing and improving. I don’t comment often but Mishtalk is the first place I visit every day.
I got ads on my phone, not my laptop. I appreciate the need for income but 39 and every one irrelevant garbage! Who makes money off those?
I’m not so sure about actionable investment ideas – you may get the blame if they don’t work out. However, it will be interesting for your readers.

Initially the layout will look the same. I am especially annoyed by the ads at the bottom. But once moved over, there will be ad changes.

Your biggest draws are extremely relevant topics and great research on those topics. Sounds like this will maintain or enhance those.

Good move Mish. I am tired of the 39 ads between your article and the comments. Actionable invest ideas I think will be a good addition also. We will see how it goes.

I have one browser that gets tons of adds. I feel it’s malware or something. Another browser and my iPhone don’t get those adds.

Please make sure the ignore feature still works so I can keep my sanity. Not sure why you take particular joy in realist multi alias scam world. If I had followed the idiots recommendations, I would be down multiple 6 figures, just 6 figures just on gold alone. Buy housing at the high, buy Ballard power at the high, buy oil at the high, its not going below $120, etc. etc. Incessant non-stop political trashing of republicans and dont complain about Biden, etc. etc.
