Comedian Wins Ukraine Election in Landslide

Life Imitates Comedy

Zelensky did not even start campaigning until January. He is an comedian actor in satirical television series in which his character accidentally becomes Ukrainian president.

Please consider Comedian Zelensky Wins Presidency by Landslide.

Russian forces annexed Ukraine’s Crimea peninsula in March 2014 – a move condemned internationally. Since then, Ukrainian forces have been fighting Russian-backed separatists and volunteers in the east.

In a tweet, Mr Poroshenko said “a new inexperienced Ukrainian president… could be quickly returned to Russia’s orbit of influence”

Mr Zelensky told a news conference he would “reboot” peace talks with the separatists. “We will… continue with the Minsk talks – we will reboot them,” he said. “I think that we will have personnel changes. In any case we will continue in the direction of the Minsk talks and head towards concluding a ceasefire.”

Overall Victory Synopsis

By Region

Who is Volodymyr Zelensky?

Mr Zelensky starred in the long-running satirical drama Servant of the People in which his character accidentally becomes Ukraine’s president. He plays a teacher who is elected after his expletive-laden rant about corruption goes viral on social media.

He ran under a political party with the same name as his show.

Curiously, no one really knows what Zelensky stands for.

It doesn’t matter. People are fed up with war and the policies of billionaire Poroshenko.

Best wishes to Ukraine. Let Crimea go, and let the healing begin.

Zelensky stands for Kolomoisky. And Kolomoisky stands for himself. So Ukraine is about to be torn to pieces and thrown to the dogs, even more so than before, if that’s possible. Its strange how their leadership is not just always bad, but keeps getting progressively worse. STILL, Petro PORNOshenko was a real scumbag and its beautiful how badly he was beaten. He deserved to be overthrown Maidan-style, but a humiliation at the polls is also good…

Perhaps we should trust the Ukrainian voters. Zelensky’s lack of political ties and experience is what eminently qualifies him in their eyes. Ukraine has gone from being a member of the G-9, a country with a lot of assets, technology, and education and a promising future, to a complete basket case, all because of the ubiquitous corruption and political meddling. The Ukrainian voter knows that the only thing they have to lose is continued corruption, stealing, and thuggery.

He does seem to be somewhat in the pocket of rival super oligarch Kolomoisky, and whether he can deliver the Ukraine from the grasp of thugs and oligarchs very much remains to be seen.

The unfortunate reference to annexed and pro-Russia separatists is propaganda. We do not refer to Texas and annexed-Texas or pro-America separatists either.

As for sovereignty, exactly what constitutes the sovereign Ukraine and Ukrainian national identity? Apart from some Polish influence and regional dialects, it’s basically been Russian. Of course there are those that consider California to be a different country than the rest of the US, but these are thoughts present in any large nation (the Flemish or Walloons in Belgium, which also has a German part, various German states, Switzerland, the Frisians in the Netherlands, the north vs the south in Italy, Hungarians in Romania, Bohemia, ad infinitum.

Sometimes the clown (or “fool”, as they used to say) turns out to be the smartest person in the room. So, we’ll see!

Sometimes this, sometimes that, and the next time, socialism really will work!!

The only thing that is true every time, is that the team who ends up winning a highly contested price, is the team which focuses the most diligently on the act of winning itself. AKA, the team most successful at looking out for number one. Stopping to help an old lady cross the road, is not how anyone ever won neither a Marathon nor a NASCAR race.

Looks like the new president will have to solve a situation created by deep state USA and to a lesser extent by its toothless, armtwisted EU vasal….But hey, the people of the EU don t want Ukraine to be part of a already dysfunctional system only serving big corporations and their political cronies , so if I were Zealensky I would definitely try to be friends with Russia, that s where Ukraine’ s future lies, NOT within a already exhausted, overindebted, unsustainable european paradigm ! Thank you Zealotsky!

Politicians don’t have to, nor do they, “solve situations.” They look good on TeeVee, while their social circle loot their fiefdoms.

Well you could also say that a real clown won the last USA presidential election. Not very funny though.

Reportedly, she received more votes, but she most assuredly did not win.

If nothing else it will be extremely interesting to what develops for the Ukraine.
Will they cause angst for Russia and head towards Europe or will they reestablish a dialogue with Russia?

As far as the Crimea goes, wasn’t it a province of Russia from 1783 until 1954 when political events caused it to be annexed to the Ukraine? Wasn’t the Ukraine part of the greater USSR at the time therefore under the Kremlin’s control anyway?
Didn’t the famous “Charge of the Light Brigade” take place on the Crimean peninsula? A battle in the war between the English and it’s allies against the Russians?
According to historical records – battle took place in Russian Crimea.

Ha, only the far west of Ukraine continued its support of Porky. This is good news for the country, a sign that people have finally seen the futility of being Stepan Bandera acolytes.

No matter what Zelensky ultimately stands for, he’ll have a tough time being worse than the outgoing administration. Nice to see the people send a clear signal that they wanted something else, ANYTHING other than Porky and his merry band of oligarchs. We elected a reality show host, why shouldn’t they get a comedian?

people are fed up with inaction by the elected officials who were sent to the position they are in, to solve the problems. As this is not the 1st priority once elected, they want to give a chance to an unknown and an amateur who is not a career politician.
We wish to see the same here in US congress and Senate….. so that all the career politicians could be thrown out !

Will Hunter Biden, Crazy Joe Biden’s son, still get to keep his multi-million dollar Ukrainian “Board” member position?

Best wishes for the new Ukrainian president. Returning to dialog over combat is a good move. I believe the people of the Crimea voted to separate from Ukraine and to be partners with Russia, so how is this a takeover? It just happened a lot faster than Brexit, LOL.

Hilarious. Next will come the propaganda from the US gov’t claiming Zelensky is a dictator and gasses his own people and we will need to implement regime change. Or is Zelensky already the ‘elected’ candidate of Izrealhell & the US?

Too bad this can’t happen here as we the people are too stupid and the controls in place make it very difficult for any change to happen.
