The New York Times has an excellent video in its report Aretha Franklin, the ‘Queen of Soul,’ Dies at 76.
For those still left in this world, I have one word of advice.
Farewell Arethea!

You’ve got to have respect for Aretha Franklin:
Aretha’s “Think” should have been played to Greenspan and every subsequent Fed chair. Did they think enough to do all this intentionally? In retrospect, I’m not sure which answer would be more disturbing.
Superior voice, incredible artist, the Natural Woman has pased into history.
Aretha was before the hip hop/rap garbage music we have now. When musicians still had creativity and played something worth listening to that will endure the test of time. And that also appealed widel to all ages and people. And I grew up when the hip hop era was getting into full swing, so I am not “generationaly biased” in my view. I was born in the 70’s.
You and I probably aren’t too far apart in age Mish. My mother always had the radio on when I was a kid and I grew up listening to Aretha Franklin. The late ’60’s and early ’70’s Motown R&B was an era of incredible music by incredible artists. IMHO, it has never been topped. The world is a bit diminished for me just knowing Aretha isn’t in it any longer.
