I’ve admittedly got an awful lot of impotent frustration towards the gaggle of assholes in DC, but it’s truly bizarre how adamantly the Ds scream how they’re the party of science, yet refuse to change the policies that have lead to the widespread overgrown, unhealthy, and very, very combustible American forests made so by their POTUS in the early 90s.
And despite the science demonstrating quite effectively, holistic grazing will not only reduce ground fuel, but will improve soil quality, they’re still opposed to cattle grazing, logging and controlled burns.
It might feel differently if the Rs were remotely competent to combat the incredibly effective messaging the Ds have secured through the press, primary schools and higher education, but that’s definitely not the case.
In the meantime, solar and/or nuclear desalination at scale has untapped potential to literally lower ocean levels, restore aquifers, ponds, lakes and when combined with holistic grazing, could literally be used to reduce atmospheric fossil fuels while simultaneously turning unliveable desert green.
Not to mention the potential for a freshwater pipeline from the Mississippi potentially solving water shortages all the way to the Front Range in Colorado.
It’s mind boggling to me that we waste so much money to address symptoms while ignoring causes.
Any Forest Management folk from the 40′-70’s will tell you none of these fires would have been as big with the process’s in place during those era’s. They laugh at loud at the democrats inability to see the forest thru the trees. Logging creates road for quicker entry into back country fires, thinning creates less fuel etc…..liberals are the bane of society. Sheep in nature, cons are not far behind…
how about a Mom party….at least they can budget

Hi Mich,
Do you happen to understand the content of the $1.2 T of infrastructure bill ? I looked at dozens of articles but none of them detail more than $500 M of spending and none of them even talk about the gap between the two numbers. What am I missing ? If I do not find an answer I will ultimately have to go through the 2K pages …
how are we going to get out of this mess without my savings becoming worthless?

Sinema is opposed if the cost is $3.5 trillion? So, how about, $3.3 trillion, with 10 percent of it going to “green” projects allocated to her corporate masters?! After all, Arizona and solar are like peas and carrots! Plus, if she loses next year in the elections, they will employ her as a lobbyist for the rest of her life.

10K per person (3.5 trillion / 350 million people).
My household has 3 people in it. I’d like my 30K spent on a solar system for my house please. That will satisfy the clean energy requirement and remove my 250ish/month electric bill. In 10 years it would pay for itself.
$250/month, Wow! I recently moved in to my 2000 sq.ft. all electric house and since April my highest bill has been $58 not counting the electric co-op’s facility fee. That’s about the same as last winter when I had the heat on and all the power tools running. I considered a solar system since I have excellent southern exposure but with a $50/month energy bill it just doesn’t pencil out
My house is more than double your size (4400) and I have a salt pool as well (pool pump + salt generator). I also live in Florida (not sure where you live).
My bill varies widely depending on the months. In the winter (Nov-Mar) it will be in 100-130 range but in the heat of the Florida summer it will be in the 350-380 range. I’m quoted average billing in the 250 range so that’s what I used as my monthly bill above (my bill includes all taxes and what you’d call co-op fees).
