The Army has officially deployed a pair of high-energy lasers overseas to blast incoming enemy drones out of the sky, the service recently confirmed, marking a major milestone for the U.S. military’s ongoing development of futuristic directed-energy weapons.
The 20-kilowatt Palletized High Energy Laser, or P-HEL, “is currently deployed to support the Army’s mission” in an undisclosed location abroad, a spokesman for the service’s Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, which manages its directed-energy portfolio, told Military.com.
The P-HEL, which is based on defense contractor BlueHalo’s LOCUST Laser Weapon System, “commenced operational employment” overseas in November 2022, while a second system arrived abroad “earlier this year,” the company recently revealed in a press release.

In a primary election, 80% of Texas Republicans voted to ban their guard being used in future undeclared wars (Proposition 6). A carrier task force costs 40-50 billion dollars and a decade to replace. A swarm of land, sea, undersea and air drones is well under a billion and will take out that task force and its 10,000+ crew in a single encounter. Then the response will be either the US capitulation or going nuclear.
Worse yet it takes at least a decade to design all the weapons systems in that task force even before construction starts but drones are advancing in capabilities with improved versions from design to use in under a year so any counter measures designed for the carrier group might be obsolete even before they are tested.
The best move the West could make is a complete rapprochement with Russia. That will need most of the wests leaders to be voted out. Trump for all his faults is probably the only leader who could pull such a move off and negotiate such a deal with Putin and at the same time he could reinvigorate the Abraham Accords to get peace in the Middle East.

Drones are absolutely a huge threat in modern military warfare. Even Low and Slow Drones can be effective when you’re trained and equipped to fight Jet Fighters and Cruise Missiles and Advanced Weapons.

Details of the recent limited Israeli retaliatory strike against Iranian anti-aircraft missile batteries at Isfahan are still sketchy. But nonetheless, we can draw some conclusions.
Israel’s small volley of missiles hit their intended targets, to the point of zeroing in on the very launchers designed to stop such incoming ordnance.
The target was near the Natanz enrichment facility. That proximity was by design. Israel showed Iran it could take out the very anti-missile battery designed to thwart an attack on its nearby nuclear facility.
The larger message sent to the world was that Israel could send a retaliatory barrage at Iranian nuclear sites with reasonable assurances that the incoming attacks could not be stopped. By comparison, Iran’s earlier attack on Israel was much greater and more indiscriminate. It was also a huge flop, with an estimated 99 percent of the more than 320 drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles failing to hit their planned targets.
Moreover, it was reported that more than 50% of Iran’s roughly 115-120 ballistic missiles failed at launch or malfunctioned in flight.
Collate these facts, and it presents a disturbing corrective to Iran’s non-stop boasts of soon possessing a nuclear arsenal that will obliterate the Jewish state.

This is another reason we need Trump to win the election. Biden will continue to gut our military equipment. He’s already gutting our military (policies and forced vaccines). The military that refused the vaccines were discharged. There are ALOT of serious medical issues for those that took the vax (cancer, neurological and heart damage) that caused medical discharges In addition to lifetime medical bills $$$$$.

The first drone hit the T-90 tank engine that caught fire and failed. The second drone took the top out of the turret and killed all occupants of the T-90. The turret swings wildly out of control with momentum.

Many inexpensive drones are purchased from China. Ukraine builds inexpensive drones with NATO parts and design expertise. NATO has the technology. NATO cannot build inexpensive drones because of high taxes and minimum wages.
Tanks are only needed now for mop up operations after battles and to control the civilian population.
Cheap drones have made tanks all but obsolete on the front lines. That’s the biggest lesson from the Ukrainian war, how much military hardware is from the last century.
It’s amazing how much has been spent on our military over the years. I suppose it is prudent to have a ‘defense’ department, but on a much more limited scale for real defense needs. Our ‘Defense Department’ used to be called the ‘War Department’. I guess that the higher-ups after WWII thought that changing the name to ‘Defense Department’ would be more palatable to the general public. Personally, I think that with the way we nilly-willy stick our noses into other countries business, we ought to return to the nomenclature of ‘WAR DEPARTMENT’. To paraphrase Robert Oppenheimer’s Vishnu quote…”I am the United States, the Destroyer of Worlds.

Nobody talks about China’s Great Underwater Wall. I haven’t read any analysis in years. Imagine a huge war room with giant screens pinpointing every vessel’s location along China’s coast – in real time. Imagine sailors facing virtual suicide aboard US ships moving towards attacking China. Better yet, I can foresee US military being invited to see what they’ve built in response to Sun Tzu’s counsel that the greatest feat in war is to defeat an adversary without attacking.
They have vessel locators for commercial ships in real-time. I would imagine that military vessels are more difficult to track but not impossible. Satellites photograph the entirety of the world every day. Ships don’t move that fast…maybe 20-30 knots.
