It did not take long for pollsters to get into action. Here’s a few polls to discuss.
Reuters/Ipsos Poll
Reuters reports Only 33% of Americans Approve US Strike on Venezuela
One in three Americans approve of the U.S. military strike on Venezuela that toppled the country’s president and 72% worry the U.S. will become too involved in the South American country, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll that concluded on Monday.
The two-day poll showed 65% of Republicans back the military operation ordered by Republican President Donald Trump, compared to 11% of Democrats and 23% of independents.
Trump’s Popularity Waning
Chatham House reports Donald Trump’s Poll Numbers Suggest His Popularity Is Waning
As US President Donald Trump enters the second year of his second term, polls suggest his domestic popularity is in decline. Various surveys of US public opinion have found that the public disapproves of his handling of key domestic challenges and some of his flagship policies lack support.
The extraordinary operation to seize Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife on 3 January is likely to dominate short-term reactions to Trump’s presidency at the beginning of the new year. But it is too early to say how it will affect his popularity in the long run.
Trump had positioned himself as an anti-war ‘president of peace’, and December polling before the operation indicated most Americans opposed US military action in Venezuela. However, some previous US presidents, such as George W Bush, enjoyed significant short-term boosts from foreign military interventions.
Declining popularity
Since convincingly winning the 2024 presidential election with 49.8 per cent of the popular vote and a majority of the Electoral College, Trump’s popularity has steadily declined. By Inauguration Day on 20 January 2025, his approval had slipped to 47 per cent. By the most recent Gallup poll in December, it stood at 36 per cent.
Economy, trade, immigration
Alongside the decline in general approval ratings, polls about individual policies suggest the public is increasingly critical of Trump’s handling of both their priorities and his signature initiatives.
The economy is consistently the highest priority for a majority of Americans. In an end-of-year address, Trump sought to blame his predecessor, President Joe Biden, for high inflation and low wages. He said that ‘inflation has stopped, wages are up, prices are down’ and argued that the US is now ‘poised for an economic boom the likes of which the world has never seen.’
But in December 2025, NPR polling found that about half the American public thought the US was in a recession (in fact, the US economy grew by 4.3 per cent in Q3). A similar share of those surveyed by YouGov in the same month thought that the economy was getting worse. A Harris poll conducted for the Guardian found that 45 per cent of Americans said their financial security was getting worse.
Another December poll found that just 31 per cent approved of Trump’s handling of the economy – his second term low – with prices being the public’s top economic concern. And a Fox News survey in November found that about twice as many voters said Trump, rather than Biden, was more responsible for the current economic conditions.
Foreign policy
Foreign policy issues have rarely been a high priority concern for most Americans. But when asked, roughly six-in-ten adults disapprove of Trump’s handling of relations with other countries.

AI Context
The quote, “If she had turned it down and said, ‘I can’t accept it because it’s Donald Trump’s,’ she’d be the president of Venezuela today,” was reportedly made by an anonymous White House official or source close to the White House during the Trump administration.
The statement refers to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado. According to reports from sources close to the White House, then-President Donald Trump coveted the Nobel Peace Prize and viewed Machado’s acceptance of the award as a personal slight.
The sources suggested that Trump’s lack of interest in supporting Machado to lead Venezuela after Nicolás Maduro was captured stemmed from this “petty grudge” over the Nobel Peace Prize.

Neither Democrats nor MAGA republicans will decide the midterms.

They polled the wrong constituency. The Donald’s are big corporations.
33% of Americans dislike or hate Trump and will be against whatever he does. Poll is worthless.
I think that it is more like 40% hate or dislike Trump, 35% just don’t care about anything, and 25% love Trump no matter what.
Why did you believe a known liar?
Probably because he appeared better than known idiot left to us by the other known liar who was senile as well.
Hmmm, Joe Biden has been a public figure and elected politician for the last 50 years. He spent most of that time in the Senate and was one of the most liked Senators among his colleagues from both sides of the political spectrum. Biden also did not earn any derogatory nicknames. Biden has been married twice, but only because his first wife and young daughter were killed in an automobile accident. Trump has been married three times, only because he cheated on the first two with the next wife and cheated on the third with a Playboy playmate and porn star. Over his 50 years in public life, Trump earned the nickname “Don-the-Con.” This is a hell of a contrast.
Being a lifetime politician is not worth putting on the resume, particularly with allegations of corruption requiring pardons for most of his family.
Do your homework!.
Well, let’s see. I’m old enough to remember Senator Biden when he still had a full head of dark hair. I also remember that 2015 interview in which Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said of Joe Biden, “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, then probably you’ve got a problem. You need to do some self‑evaluation… He is as good a man as God ever created.”
And now we’re supposed to take allegations of corruption—coming from Donald Trump and his most loyal supporters—seriously? After a fifty‑year political career, decades as a senior senator, and eight years as vice president without a single credible allegation of corruption, he’s suddenly labeled “corrupt” the moment he becomes the political rival of someone who has repeatedly shown a willingness to lie, cheat, and sacrifice anyone for personal gain. Any reasonable person would give the benefit of the doubt to the individual with a spotless record rather than to someone with a long history of personal, legal, and ethical controversies.
This is someone whose longtime political confidant is Roger Stone, a self‑described “dirty trickster,” and whose mentor was the late Roy Cohn—Senator Joseph McCarthy’s notorious legal counsel—who taught him to never apologize and never admit wrongdoing. When that’s the company a person keeps, it’s not hard to understand why many people view sudden accusations against a long‑respected public servant with skepticism.
I genuinely cannot believe that, here in 2026, people are still trying to manufacture false equivalencies between Donald Trump and, frankly, anyone else.
OLE GENOCIDE JOE VOTED FOR EVERY WAR FOR 50 YEARS. EVIL MAN FOR AN EVIL EMPIRE.
Interesting quote from Fiona Hill at Trump’s impeachment hearing after the first term shows that Venezuela and Ukraine were discussed as part of a grand swap between Trump and Putin back in 2020. This may explain why Russia is hardly making a fuss about things…
“And I was also told by Amos and other colleagues that they had some linkages, so I also want to, you know, get you to step back at this period. This is, you know, March, April, into May, where we were having a standoff over Venezuela. And the Russians at this particular juncture were signaling very strongly that they wanted to somehow make some very strange swap arrangement between Venezuela and Ukraine. … They were basically signaling: You know, you have your Monroe doctrine. You want us out of your backyard. Well, you know, we have our own version of this. You’re in our backyard in Ukraine. … They were interested in having a discussion about Venezuela and Ukraine.”
Fiona Hill is a close buddy of John Bolton, some might say protege. Knowing that, is like perjury: everything she has said and done is questionable. .
I do not vote, but still pay attention. In my book, here are the flaws in his performance (A review):
“The Peace President.” Nothing is further from

NO ONE can get away with blatant bullshit like that. EVEN THE TRUMPSTER who seemingly gets a pass from MAGA types. Are the STUPID or NAIVE or just VOTERS who do not care about campaign promises?
read the wonderful book titled “cults”. there are many human primates that have a need to belong and follow a cult leader. trust me, in the book, the cultists will go even further than the dimwit MAGA cult. perhaps we will get our Jonestown event before old PEDOTUS croaks out of old age. i know a woman who grew up with jim jones in the little hick town in indiana. her brothers kept her away from that psycho. he started his cult skills as a young fella. like trump did in his hood of jamaica estates, queens.
Maybe read about brain-washing, aka mind control. Both sides are doing it, to the nation’s detriment.
Humans are proficient at being intentionally stupid, when they feel stubborn about their rightness.
Chevron plays a long game all over the globe (i.e. Venezuela). Fluctuating crude price is of relatively minor consequence (so says Mike Wirth – CEO).
Should we (US) prefer Iran making long term agreements with Venezuelan govt? Chinese state-run oil companies investing and taking hold there, Russia supplying naphtha (to help transport crude)?
Is there a path forward that benefits both Venezuelan and US citizens? Naively perhaps, I thought we had that going on before Chavez.
Anecdotally, in 2009, I worked a natural gas turbine project with a handful of Venezuelan Oil & Gas Controls Engineers who fled Venezuela to US (Houston). They did not speak highly of Chavez. They were/are (I still presume) good men with families looking for a better life.
exactly, this is about the US and it’s “interests” protecting energy and minerals. If Venezuela did business with the US this would be fine. Remember the Saudis were slated to be overthrown in the 70s by Nixon They saw the writing on the wall with the embargoes and the crippled US . It was going to invade -we had to have this as an option since the whole country was going to turn into Venezuela and chaos.
It’s just political realism. No sentiments about democracy or rights.
But Venezuela did business with U.S. companies (such as certain oil companies, as permitted by sanction waivers – sanctions we imposed). I also understand there were negotiations with Maduro prior to military escalations and he was offering a lot to get matters resolved. DJT obviously didn’t want to follow a diplomatic path.

All that AI does is: create fake videos; fake news; fake information that must be corrected by humans resulting in material losses to businesses and society; facilitate fraud; horrible customer service; censor facts and free speech; oppress us with ubiquitous surveillance; waste water and electricity; and pollute the environment with ugly data centers that raise your electricity bill.

It would be unprofitable and stupid for Chevron to invest billions in Venezuela just to get oil selling at $50 a barrel. USA is a capitalist country lest you forget. And our overlords print illegal and worthless FRNs at will anyway. If I were Chevron, I’d buy gold and silver instead.

They are not. And even if they were, I am not a thief.
The moral rot of the American right is off the charts.
Last week it was excusing pedophilia. This week it’s theft. What will next week bring? Shameful.
exactly correct. violent cultists defending their cult hero is nothing new for the human primate history. it’s nasty and disgusting but fascinating. i usually play along in real life to see how far these dimwits will go. various cult members i have met in my first 65 years. includes radical religon members. lived among hasidic jews in brooklyn for decades. just fascinating.
you might have missed what is going on with who uses what amounts of energy in the globe per capita. and how they produce that energy. the world changes. we used to hunt whales for their oil to light our homes……….
I have not missed it. American’s use a disproportionate amount of the worlds resources. Enough that if everyone on earth used the same we’d need something like 5 planets worth.
That means for the American lifestyle that Phil in CT wants, it means someone else has to take less. That’s why the countries that are being attacked or bullied are suspiciously the ones full of resources. Haven’t heard of any US invasions of Somalia or Ethiopia etc.
We just need to be able to do business with Canada. We don’t need to own it.
Yes, and Russia wants the eastern part of Ukraine to get strategic assets and access to the black sea, so they should be able to do whatever is necessary to achieve those objectives, right? China needs Taiwan, so they should just be able to take it? Trump wants Greenland, and we can kick Denmark’s ass, so it should be ours, right? What about Canada? What about Mexico? I am sure that China would like to have Mongolia, and Russia would also like to have Moldova. Do you not see how dangerous, immoral, and chaotic this type of world would be? In the future, Russia, China, and the U.S. can fight a war over the North and South poles. In such a world, we can fight over asteroids, planets, and moons further into the future. Who in their right mind would want to create such a future for their kids and grandkids?
i still marvel at so many who are either so naive or so nihilist to not give a shit that amerika is the world terrorist. get a globe and see where our bases are and how many countries we have bombed or caused terror from threats. it’s really quite amazing at the amerikans lack of self awareness. i guess the suicides and school shootings and obesity epidemic are the indicators of the mental breakdown of living in an evil empire. i still do marvel at the fantasy world so many do live in.
You are bragging that somehow no one ELSE sees this shit going on. You are flattering yourself.

Maduro is just the hostage we took to give weight to Trump’s threats against Canada, Cuba, Mexico and Greenland.
It’s a mob boss type of thing
What I LOVE about Trump is that he is a huge mirror forcefully shoved right in the face of every American, and they have no choice but to see what their society is really like.
You see, Trump is not the problem, not the disease, he is the symptom. He is the endgame, the outcome of where decades US politics, foreign policy and shallow consumerist culture ultimately leads to.
Trump did not make America worse. Trump made America take the costume and the make-up off.
100% accurate. plato and socrates and boys penned “republic’ TO EXPLAIN THIS SIMPLE IDEA. it is simple but escapes most modern amerikans. they are that vile. nihilism really won the times.
It’s a attempt to coverup the Epstein and trump pedophile partnership and to increase trump’s poll numbers.
THAT NARCO TERRORIST Donald Trump SURE DOES PACK A HELL OF A LOT OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
Taco could care less what the ratings are for his highly questionable behavior and actions. After all, he believes is the current version of King Herod.
It could be that trump’s narcissistic personality disorder, delusional disorder, and dementia means that ALL he cares about is his poll numbers.
but hey, he’s looking after his peeps and sweetening the pot for diving into all that heavy, sour crude…

no surprise there. i saw that too. keep the government away from my medicare and medicaide and my scooter. i’m an independent amerikan.

Trumps foreign policy is the same any thug stealing from an elderly person or raping a young girl. Might makes right!
Echoes of EPSTEIN and Trump as pedophiles… Preying on children…
The real news byproduct for our defense contractors is that the US will no longer have access to the strategic metals that are produced or refined in China. That is 90+% of rare Earths all the way down to 60% of the silver. China is now responding to Trump by slowly depleting the west of strategic metals. None will be shipped to our military contractors or their vendors.
It will be pretty hard to sell weaponry that you can’t build Mr. Trump.
If I were a foreign business owner, I would never invest one dollar in production of my product in America as its government is now just another dictatorship run by a petty tyrant. All of Trumps supposed deals? Pure bullshit after this act of economic war.
The USD is getting hammered as the “Full Faith and Credit” is no longer spotless. Having confiscated the assets of and sanctioned so many nations, it is dangerous to do business with the US. US debt is becoming toxic. Another credit downgrade is inevitable, it would be the second of Trumps second term. Not the last…
NOT sure anyone on planet believes that bullshit about freedumb peace and prosperity. most of planet just doesn’t want to get ass raped and burned by our 100s of thousands of troops on dozens of bases all over the globe. unless you think men with guns and warships bombing the poorest folks on planet since i was a child in the 60s is peaceful. we will kill and torture and torment any child and family for years and years if their leaders trade goods with someone we don’t want them to. this view of amerika seems so goddamn silly. i know the propaganda here is deep. and much of the world is scared. we are sick fucking killers. best to face the reality. as ugly as it is. makes one much more content. ancient eastern and western wise men wrote about this centuries ago. face reality. as hard as that can be. much easier when one figures it out as a youth. the men and women i’ve opened their eyes north of age 30 are usually mindfucked for awhile. the old geezers in 50s who figure it out really go nuts for a few years. hard to admit being so gullible and nihilist all in one big gulp. pardon that last pun. i joked for decades there would be NO big gulp revolution. our people are stooopid and docile, like a petting zoo lamb.
lol, Trump could be all that and worse, but your tears are muy delicioso! I didn’t use to laugh at TDS sufferers, but you guys are a barrel of laughs!
Next week’s adventure…
TAPPER: Can you rule out the US is going to take Greenland by force?
MILLER: Greenland should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of NATO
T: So force is on the table?
M: Nobody is gonna fight the US militarily over future of Greenland
“No one is going to fight the US over Greenland”?
Maybe not; but it would only be because THEY DON’T HAVE – OR WANT – A DEPARTMENT OF WAR! Disgusting war mongerging by the charlatan.
We should have known Trump’s war mongering is evident in everything he says and does. And like the UK after WW1 he’ll be leaving us irreprerably broke as he explodes the deficit in every way shape or form.
I saw an economist saying we’ll avert a ’26 recession because of Trump’s stimulous. Yes, and it comes with a heck of a reconking in just a few years as Social Security goes broke. The snake knows he’ll be dead and he’ll have partied on borrowed time in the interim. EVERYTHING TRUMP 2.0 IS UNSUSTAINABLE.
All the media coverage and opinions make it seem that there is something legitimate to talk about.
This is about a con man who is committing armed robbery.
Anybody who believes anything any of these people say at face value have not been taking notes.
Mish, you often sound anti-America. I am a realist, but I give those doing the work the benefit of the doubt. America First is past due.
I do not give those who break the law and do not give a rats ass about the constitution the benefit of the doubt.
Personally, I would rather see them in jail.
Personally I’d rather see them dead.
Looking forward to reading many obituaries of today’s political “leaders” of the USA
Anti-America? Nah. Increasingly hysterical and beside the point? Yep.
America First was first used as a slogan to support isolationism in the late 1930s when Hitler was invading his neighbors and threatening Great Britain. I am very much a realist as well, and I have a very firm grasp of what the United States stands for and why it has been the indispensable nation in the world for the last 100+ years. My Grandfather fought for our nation and our values in Europe in 1944-45, my Great Grandfather fought for our nation and its values in France in 1916-17, and my Great Great Grandfather fought on the side of freedom and Abraham Lincoln at Antietam in 1862, and my Great Great……Uncle fought in the Revolutionary War for our ultimate freedom from Britain and then teamed up with Alexander Hamilton to form the Bank of New York.
Needless to say, it has been passed down to me from those who knew what the United States stands for, and it is certainly not “America First.” The United States of America was founded and struggled over the last 250 years for ideals far greater than “American First.” The United States of America, as we know it, only came to be because we were formed and built by persons from all over the world who broadly shared those ideals that were greater than themselves.
Mish does not sound anti-American, Mish sounds like someone who understands that the secret sauce of the American experiment is not our wealth, our land, or our military strength, it is our shared ideals. If we allow an unstable individual who controls the levers of power of the Presidency to ignore and erode those ideals, we collectively are spitting on all of those who fought, bled, and died for those ideals over the last 250 years.
IMO at this point the technology exists to generate a list of 1,248 individuals to randomly poll to obtain the generally desired polling results if one wished to pursue a narrative.
This presents quite the dilemma for the MAGA crowd and all the others around the globe who celebrate outside regime change, proffering proofs of illegitimacy:
All these figures have been touted as the true legitimate leader of Venezuela, proving that Maduro is illegitimate. However the four of them together do not exactly serve to strengthen this passionately held alternate legitimacy, now were all of them bona fide household names in Venezuela.
The first two were anointed by Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0 respectively.
Any attempt to cut this Gordonian knot might prove detrimental to the folding of your own lobes of gray matter!
“Why did you believe a known liar?”
Are you talking about Trump or Musk?
Tesla is The Greatest Story [lies] ever sold. And every day Tesla slips further behind in FSD to WAYMO, and robotics to Hyundai (See Boston Scientfic’s robots released tomorrow at CES).
Sadly, as I’ve gotten older I’ve learned the hard way PEOPLE CAN RATIONALIZE FRIGGIN ANYTHING. No B******** too far that they can’t believe whatever. Every generation Society gets nowhere because common sense and critical thinking are not cummulative across generations. One might think just following honesty would be a good start..; alas there’ll be excuse after excuse for turning a blind eye to truth.
We have to relive the same tired stupidity, kilings, wars, you name it. See you back at the starting line next generation. You’re not building shit for progress on anyone’s shoulders. Time to cross another latrine.
bingo. correct. human primates are not that complicated. anthropology 101. we are advanced in science arts and what not, but at our core dna we have not changed. strong men will be followed to kill and rape and burn little kids. human primates are complicated and dangerous. approach strange ones with caution.
Mish how many 10s (or more) of billions of dollars have been spent by Trump on this operation and getting involved in the Israel/Iran dust ups? The cost must be staggering.
Seems the world can only consume one major issue at a time. How convenient that they won’t be talking about Epstein for a while.
I wonder what the MAGA CHUDs would say about all of this had Biden or Kamala done it?
Hmmmm….I wonder….
We would be completely stunned, especially after the botched Afghanistan exit.
Jan 10, 2025 — The Biden administration said on Friday that it was offering $25 million for information leading to the arrest of Nicolás Maduro, the president of Venezuela.
UNIPARTY OF NIHILST CUNTS STRIKES AGAIN. FOR THE PAST 65 YEARS OF MY LIFE.
read the short book, “overthrow”. starts with the first countries we overthrew starting in 1898. the list is so goddamn long. the book is short. a page or two for each instance. i already bet a pal, next is cuba and then greenland and then attempt persia. i really think this is a sound strategy for all living amerikans and foreign nations on planet earth. i am a dual citizen with italia. i don’t think pax dumbfuckistan will last the 2000 years the Roman Empire did. i’m with many folks like Dalio and tons more. we are running on fumes now. the 50 state solution is close. the fed gov will fail in next few years. no big deal. all empires bust. we have 50 states set up to handle the mess. bombs away kids. what could go wrong?
I will say many of the migrants came from Venezuela. So maybe in his mind this also justifies the take over. But let’s see how many he repatriates and how many illegal migrants he sends there. Maybe El Salvador has reached their quota.
Now I understand more fully why US citizens have been leaving the US for political reasons. Simply remaining here gives tacit support for whatever the US does.
I could attend an anti-war protest, but the protest would turn into an anti-Trump or “Dems vs. Repubs” thing, and that is not how I view it.
It’s actually amazing to me that 33% approve of the US kidnapping a foreign president by force.
Lots of Americans will never waver from their belief that the US is a benevolent superpower whose job is to fight evil worldwide and spread freedom and democracy.
bully bully. i concur 100 percent
Easy to approve when it’s a scumbag like Maduro. I don’t imagine many would approve if the US kidnapped the Mexican or Canadian leaders for example.
Also from my point of view (and that of my military aged kids) I’d VASTLY rather kill / kidnap foreign leaders than get into military action in those countries. Much better to keep killing leaders till you get one who is more amenable since it’s less destruction and death (their youth and ours). One of the worst things the US ever signed was the document that make it illegal to assassinate foreign leaders.
The US did sign the document that makes it illegal to assassinate foreign leaders. What is the point of signing anything if a despot like Trump can simply ignore the laws and get away with removing foreign leaders from power and stealing their land and resources?
With Trump in power the US has no credibility and the “Rule of Law” has no meaning. As a former Republican I am ashamed that I ever gave the organization a dime or voted for a Republican.
I have no party but will NEVER AGAIN believe anything that comes from Fox or a republicans mouth.
Disgusting hypocrites on their best day…
in my book of life, i figured out as a child of about 10 years old that amerika and amerikans were sick fucking society of warmongers. watching my idiot brother sign up to go to nam. and seeing lbj and nixon and ford and carter and raygun’s line of bullshit and non stop warmongering. don’t forget kids, carter got us into afghanistan. dumbfuck. i’ve voted libertarian or green for decades. voting R or D at the federal level is insanity. unless you had ron paul and a few peaceniks as reps. i had only one in my life. barbara lee. only sane rep i ever had. she voted NO on invading afghanistan after the inside job of 9.11.01. it still boggles my mind at how weak minded and in the soul my fellow amerikans are. the root cause is nihilism. read ominous parallels to see how and why we got here. starts with bismark. i learned to laugh and mock my idiot fellow citizens in my twenties after spending my youth being pissed at how vile and stupid my peers all were. better to LOL, AT the nazis of the uniparty.
well trump and biden and obama and bush and clinton crime families all scumbags. for sure killed more innocent humans than maduro or chavez. you are for sure fucking around playing the devil’s retarded advocate.
Jeff Landry, the US envoy to Greenland, said today on CNBC “When has the USA ever been imperialistic? … NEVER!”
Sheeple go “baa!”
What makes Maduro a “scumbag”?
Just the fact that he let things get so bad that his countrymen were starving and eating zoo animals under his leadership. As leader he is responsible for that.
Never mind anything else he may have done.
The fact he is controlling that much oil makes him a scumbag, that’s how this game is
playedcheatedlet’s revist this when we take Greenland.
depending on who does it
lol, I hear rosie o’donnell is looking for a roommate.
For the record. Also of interest is HOW the NYT and WaPo found about about a secret operation in advance?
NYT, WaPo, CNN are arms of the military industrial complex.
Easy to cooperate when you are taking out a scumbag like Maduro that exactly no one is going to feel sorry for.
Most people do not understand how dangerous it is for a Narco terrorist dictator to provide a base of operations for Iran, Russia, China and Hezbollah so close to the US. Too many people are clueless about foreign policy. We live in a world that is getting more dangerous every day. If you wait for trouble to reach our shores, it will be too late. Many in Europe thought Hitler was some fool from a beer hall. By the time Nazi tanks were rolling into their countries they could not stop them. Trumps move was brilliant on many levels. Just ask the people of Venezuela.
I should add that the people who know better are speaking now – the South American stock markets are booming.
Exactly the kind of bullshit logic that got us into Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
“Narco Terrorist” you are one brainwashed individual
NARCO TERRORIST IS THE NEW BENCHMARK FOR RETARDS
WMD IN BEGINNING OF THIS CENTURY WAS MY BENCHMARK PAST QUARTERCENTURY. the stupid retards in this empire are epic. it is so entertaining. i hope they never stop. like living in a petting zoo of little dumb lambs.
Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan were flat out invasions. Not sure what this is yet, but it’s not that. How many years did it take bushy and the military to track down osama and saddam?
No idea what it means the US is ‘running’ Venezuela. What are we doing there? How many people? What’s the mission?
I would say the opposite. During the ninteeth century, empires were negociating their backyard. In practice, mostly their slice of Africa and Islands that consists of prey nations to be conquered.
The world is returning to empire logic, I wouldn t be surprised of a Sites Pico style agreement covering Venezuela Taiwan and Ukraine.
in spain they celebrate 1898 as the end of their empire. i stay in a hotel called hotel 1898 in barcelona. southern euros get this. northern euros and usa seem kind of slow. we’ll get there.
Actually, Hitler attacked Russia for the reason you stated. He thought Russia would attack Germany. Don’t forget Britain and France declared war on Germany to set off ww2.
Britain and France were allied with Poland, which was not a secret when Germany invaded Poland. Claiming that ww2 started by Britain and France declaring war on France after their ally was invaded leaves out a relevant bit of context.
he said attacked. not started war.
You do know that the term “narco terrorist” has no meaning other than propaganda and justifying illegal attacks, right?
No one knows if the attacks are legal or not until it goes to court and gets decided.
The president has a lot of leeway in making special attacks and almost all past presidents have done so at some point. Interestingly, none of these actions ever go to court which would suggest courts don’t want to rule on the legality of it.
so if china kidnaps trump and flies him to Peking to stand trial, the chines court decides and that is just ducky with you. peking duck.
Why not? What’s good for the Goose is good for the Peking Duck 🙂
you are a fool. but funny. and i suspect you are just acting like a retard to get a rise from people. no one can be that stooopid.
Good luck with that.
Too hard, just make the judgement and send a drone.
Legal, lol. Does it matter? Even the phrase ‘international law’ is laughable.
Thank God Trump saved us from Adolf Maduro.
Trump IS Hitler, you moron. NO ONE wants this asshole “saving” them.
i drank in a beer hall in december in a german hood in queens NYC. was the HQ of the amerikan nazis in 1930s. dad who guarded nazis during the war, ended up having beers there after the war with some of the fellas. i interviewed my father for a school boy paper. he said they were all so happy to be captured and not on the eastern front getting killed by the USSR. ha ha ha. what a great beer hall. felt like bavaria. huge party of my young pals…………bartenders old school, too. heil trump
lol, somewhere, biden is sipping an Ensure, about to enjoy his oatmeal and agrees wholeheartedly with you. Oops, he just shat himself.
LMAO…………………Oh man that one got me dude…………
Trump is very much like Hitler and not at all like Churchill. Narco terrorist is baloney, these are Capitalist entrepreneurs selling a much desired product that the PTB have made illegal to drive up the price so their piece of the action is greater.
The poll just shows most people don’t like war / confrontation with others.
In early 1941 after France had fallen and the Axis powers were running wild in Europe and Asia 88% of American’s said the US should NOT get involved and that’s the most important war of the 20th century. Of course after Pearl Harbor it went to 97% for entering the war (ironically many believe the government knew about Pearl Harbor and allowed it to happen to get public sentiment for the war).
A few decades later it took a false flag event in the Gulf of Tonkin to get the US into Vietnam.
Maybe Trump thought the US is beyond needing false flags to justify military operations (or maybe he should have staged a false flag on one of the US military ships embargoing Venezuela).
The demographics were a whole lot different during WWII and Vietnam than they are now. How many you think will sign up now? Don’t forget 70 million people are over the age of 60 right now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethnic_minorities_in_the_United_States_Armed_Forces_during_World_War_II
Young Americans are too fat and lazy to serve. I understand that 75% or more of recruits are unfit for service. They are trying to get in not dodge a draft. The videos I see of guard troops don’t paint a picture of physical fitness or male aggression, a lot of obesity and a number of girls.
I would add that most western “youth” have no interest.
i’m 65. if they give me a medicare payed for scooter with a water pistol i’ll serve. in disney world with the other asshole geezers.
LMAO……..You get off a good one every once in a while
How can you not like a guy who eats an empanada in the middle of giving a speech?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pQIpZr7xSI
when you visit pearl harbor. took a long time, but in recent decades the veteran who was at pearl harbor that day explained to the tourists that the US had cut off the oil like trump just did actually. FDR etc………knew an attack would come. pearl harbor was only one spot they attacked in pacific. and bingo the sheep were off to the races signing up. thank heavens the USSR killed off probably over 80% of the nazis so the amerikan forces did not have to do much lifting. my father and all my uncles served in that horrible war. it was one world war. with a half time. i think the UN etc has done a fine job preventing another world war. btw, no doubt 9.11.01also was an event that the bush crime family knew was coming. all the evidence is there. the august chatter. the ignoring it. they wrote in project for new amerikan century in 90s they wanted a new pearl harbor and that saddam would be the target for his oil. yea. they knew. lost many childhood pals up at canto fitzerald. horrific way to die. burn to death or jump 100 stories. i’ll take cancer or a stroke anyday.
In your speculative opinion, do you suspect the boss knew? What probability do you personally assign?
Sorry for your loss of pals that day.
Ah. The two great myths. The columns framing all 20th century views.
Shouldn’t we support any effort to overthrow any leader who doesn’t provide affordable healthcare and electricity? For You Folks who will down vote this, I offer a reminder from the Roman Empire : “Bread And Circuses”. Understand That and how it applies here?
The US is a boy incinerating ants on a sunny day with a magnifying glass. He thinks he’s all powerfull but loses interest and goes off to play with fire or discover his dad’s ‘special’ stash. Did you really think 2025 was gonna be “StarTrek”? This Is The ‘Professsional Wresting’ version of geopolitics. Now, you can downvote
You want Trump to overthrow himself?
F troop style
I’d like the video of him jumping off the roof of trump tower in NYC.
PANEM ET CIRCENSES. nothing changes. easy to get assholes to go along with an evil empire. the roman empire lasted 2000 years. we will go the way of the recent empires. 2 or 3 centuries. i think we are gonna split up to 50 states and tell the feds to go fuck themselves in the next 3 years by jan 20th, 2028. no big whoop. will be a nothing burger. and much safer for the world and humanity.
Not gonna happen, too many red states can’t support themselves and need the blue states to help out.
That same 33%, from the wrong end of the bell curve… the piggy zone.
Ironically, these are the same group who would be unfit for service given the Army’s minimal fitness and intelligence standards. War is great when you don’t have to do it.
push button wars now. our boys ain’t done dyssentary in 50 years.
And this matters how in the here and now?
Ask that question again when the Nick nazis rise to power and start culling the Jews and anyone else they don’t like. Or maybe the other clan….

So many possibilities so little time…
G.E.S?
Take your ritalin.
I wouldn’t expect somebody that yearns to be ruled to understand.
if trump was running for re-election this would matter. alas, it does not matter.
he will try and be speaker of house or president emeritus to JD or little marco. i think we bust up by then.
I doubt that. Trump’s ego doesn’t do downgrades.
If there were no Epstein controversy this would not have happened.
The way questions are asked matters.
I doubt most Americans (due to all the past bad Maduro press + bounty on his head + 2020 indictment + ICC warrant) would NOT be glad to know Maduro is ousted. Even if they don’t know the circumstances from third-base.
It is confusing for everyone as to what actions a president is allowed (legally, under our constitution) to take when addressing a foreign problem that is perceived (by that president) to be necessary to deal with.It is a constitutional definition argument many presidents have acted upon. We should all be able to name them.
I’m still digesting it all to see what my “senses” come up with. Some events in life require time and effort to consider a lot. But I guess I am glad Maduro is gone even though, yet, I don’t know what happens next. Sometimes, you have to make it up as you go.For now?
I guess the situation with Trump and Maduro is complex, and opinions are all over the place. Historically, presidents have taken various actions they deemed necessary, often sparking debate.
I’ll take a stance. Trump is in good company. It’s clear Trump’s actions would fit into a broader pattern of presidential assertiveness in foreign policy, though the specifics would likely be scrutinized and debated. I’m am concerned about what steps happen next. On that, I think I’m confused, but I’m not sure.
I think the bigger question is the wisdom (or not?) of our November 2025 National Security Strategy and how urgently we need to do what we need to do. Others (our adversaries and enemies (foreign and domestic)) make it all up too and we have to deal with that.
So, I’ll view all this through the lens of the NSS. https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf
Our adversaries have a new appreciation for US military capabilities. Venezuela had the best Chinese anti-aircraft batteries available. Yet, they could not stop any of our 150 aircraft.
Perhaps. I hope so. If American (I for one) began to doubt our military resolve and capability, I suspect our adversaries did as well. I hope you’re right.
But, IMO, there is really no way, short of conflict, to determine how ready and willing our military really is (vs others). I fear our people are not at all ready and any required action or reaction to our adversaries will be opposed by those carrying latent strong emotions against Trump – for what ever reason.
You would think the strike on Iran a couple of months ago would have gotten the message out.
Guess we needed to send a second one.
I wonder if we’ll need to send a third?
This type of cavalier attitude will eventually lead to a mass casualty event, such as the sinking of an aircraft carrier. Iran learned plenty from the 12 day war – never trust the U.S. and accept that they need to work with Russia and China to increase defensive capabilities. What have we learned? Apparently nothing.
a commenter online isn’t escalating anything. Just relax. You’re opinion won’t sway anyone. do some yoga, try to have some fun and focus on what’s important in life.
No, this is exactly the type of cavalier attitude that will get a lot of people killed. I mean it. It’s something Lindsey Graham would say. And don’t lecture me on recreational activities. You need to give your brain a workout.
Easy, absolute proof trump raped a child. Then the real coverup war will really start.
Their generals were bribed to stand down.
That’s would make a great start to a comic routine. The AA batteries were nearly silent, even though our aircraft came in under moonlit conditions. Our military strikes that night appear to have been mostly for show (hitting Chavez’s mausoleum .. c’mon), and the 40 or so deaths were reportedly Maduro’s personal bodyguards of Cuban origin. Venezuelan military clearly had standdown orders, and my money would be on CIA money paying off those around Maduro. Still, it clearly was an effective extraction plan so I’ll credit them that; it just doesn’t imply anything about Chinese military equipment capabilities.
That’s a scary document.
For perspective, you should compare it to reports that other Presidents have issued.
I assure you I did. Particularly with the former administration who continued to guide America into a global partnership funded by the BIS and National Central Banks. International policy being primarily inspired and constructed by various dominant think tanks of noted Elites (think WEF, Rockefeller and Ford foundations and more). Implemented by other “Institutions” such as the UN.
Comparison of Biden Trump National strategy policies.
Can you (objectively) compare. the following two national strategies and isolate and areas and elements of significant difference? https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/DCPD-202200939/pdf/DCPD-202200939.pdf https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/2025-National-Security-Strategy.pdf
2022 Biden-Harris NSS* (the “Biden Strategy”) focuses on rebuilding alliances, democratic values, and a rules-based order. Its core pillars are:
• Investing in American strength – modernizing the military, advancing tech, and bolstering the economy.
•
• Building a broad coalition – reinforcing NATO, deepening ties with Indo-Pacific partners, and cooperating with any nation willing to uphold international norms.
•
• Tackling shared challenges – climate change, pandemics, and global economic instability are treated as security issues.
•
• Competing with China and constraining Russia – China is labeled the “only competitor with both intent and capability” to reshape the international system, while Russia is a “dangerous” actor to be deterred.
•
All of this is framed as defending democracy, human rights, and the American way of life
.
2025 Trump NSS* (the “Trump Strategy”) pivots to a “America First” posture that emphasizes sovereignty, military readiness, and transactional relationships. Its standout elements are:
• **“America First” & a Trump Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine – the U.S. claims the right to dominate the Western Hemisphere and will use military force against cartels and rival powers (e.g., China’s ports)
•
.
A transactional view of alliances – NATO and European partners are described as instrumental tools rather than intrinsic allies; the strategy even suggests “cultivating resistance” inside European nations and warns of “civilizational erasure” if Europe doesn’t align with U.S. interests
.
Russia treatment – unlike the Biden strategy’s clear condemnation, the 2025 NSS seeks “strategic stability” with Russia and calls for an “expeditious cessation of hostilities” in Ukraine, effectively softening the adversarial stance
.
China focus – while still a competitor, the emphasis shifts to reciprocity and fair trade rather than systemic rivalry; the strategy concentrates on limiting China’s influence in the Western Hemisphere and preserving the status quo on Taiwan
.
Military posture – a dramatic increase in Coast Guard and Navy presence in the Americas, with explicit permission to use lethal force against narcotraffickers and to “secure the border”
• .
•
Key Areas of Significant Difference
Dimension
2022 Biden-Harris NSS
2025 Trump NSS
Core Ideology
Democratic values, multilateralism, rules-based order
“America First,” sovereignty, transactional diplomacy
Alliances
Strengthen NATO, deepen Indo-Pacific partnerships
View alliances as tools; warn Europe, promote “resistance” internally
China
Primary strategic competitor to be out-competed
Competitor but focus on fair trade & limiting Western Hemisphere influence
Russia
Dangerous aggressor to be constrained
Seek “strategic stability,” call for ceasefire in Ukraine
Western Hemisphere
Revive partnerships, economic resilience
Assert dominance via a Trump Corollary, military force against cartels, “secure the border”
Shared Challenges
Climate, pandemics, inequality as security threats
Minimal mention; focus on military & economic security
Military Strategy
Modernize, invest in tech, backstop diplomacy
Expand Coast Guard/Navy, lethal force against narcotraffickers, “defeat cartels”
Bottom line: The Biden strategy leans on alliances, values, and global cooperation to meet systemic challenges, whereas the Trump strategy leans on unilateral action, military readiness, and a zero-sum view of competition—especially in the Americas and toward Europe. Both address China and Russia, but the tone and chosen tools differ dramatically.
“or he flat out lied” Holy crap Batman. I think they may be on to something! Give it some time Robin. It’s a very complex situation. I’m sure Qanon will figure this out before long.
I’m sure hillary will run in 2028 to make you happy. Take heart.
Fat Donnie’s poll numbers are improving—according to RealClear Politics.
lol, rcp! you should check to see what david corn’s site thinks!!!
RCP is clearly biased. Which is I why I check it everyday. When they have the Orange Psychopath in deep doo-doo, then you know he is really unpopular.
lol, RCP is like a broken geiger counter at Chernobyl. What’s the point?
Seems about right, as I recall 33% of angels chose to become demons and now we know how many demons America has within. In the late 70s the Iranian leader called America the Great Satan (I was outraged back then) and 50+ years later it looks like it’s becoming that every day.
Got exit strategy?
Yes, Iran had “the Great Satan and the Little Satan”. Not sure which one’s which now.
As usual, your paranoia has gotten the better of you. Just relax.
Heck, over 65% of Venezuelans Approve! They would know what’s best for them and their Country.
I have to guess there are at least 50% of Americans (should be 60+% per some polls) that are positive or undecided.
Bullshit.
Made up, obvious, stupid bullshit.
What part? Yes the # for Venezuelan’s Approval is more like 70+%.. You got me!
That figure only includes expats… Your numbers ignore the actual Venezuelans living in Venezuela… you know, the vast majority of them…
Venezuelan people around The World are Celebrating! Millions were displaced from their homeland. Many would love to Go Back, if it’s Safe, and will remain safe and Peaceful!!!
More bullshit. All of it. Everything you said.
Bullshit.
They have their savior. Now what’s it going to cost them for us to leave? Who will run the country? Will there be a puppet or will they have elections? Maybe they’ll have puppet elections. Maybe they’ll have to sell us all their oil directly, at a discount. Are we going to face any insurgence or will Taco pay them off in BTC? Opps, I’m sorry, I mean Kushner or Jr. I think it’s too big league for Jr. But he’s good at the crypto stuff. Anyway, getting a dictator to intervene is easy. Getting him to leave is, well, something they already have experience with. But maybe this time it will be different. There’s a lame duck in office and his time is up in 2028. But the next president of Venezuela?
Quack, quack.
Donaldo Trumpo, PEDO president of VZ and Colombia and Mexico and Cuba and Greenland
– They have their savior. > Didn’t know they were looking for one, who is he?
– Now what’s it going to cost them for us to leave? > If they have there Savior, why are leaving?
– Who will run the country? > That’s what Elections are for.
– Maybe they’ll have to sell us all their oil directly, at a discount. > That’s Odd, seeing how it is Our Oil?
– Anyway, getting a dictator to intervene is easy. Getting him to leave… Hmm… He’s Gone!!
the bootlickers love strongmen. the people of VZ are assholes for relying on Trump to save them. give it 5 years. i suspect the same result as iraq. most likely china will be there loading up their ships with amerikan taxpayer paid for improved oil system……….
Did you see Lindsey Graham on AF1 right next to Taco. He couldn’t contain himself standing there so happy, laughing and grinning. Jan 6th, 2021: “Count me out. I’ve had enough.” Jan 5th, 2026: “Hold my beer.”
Your response to VZ, having their Dictator Removed and potentially Freedom ahead, like they had not long ago if you recall, IS A%&h#)’s? They have never asked Trump for Freedom that I recall? They had freedom long before Trump was President. They like the thought of this opportunity once again!
This is nothing like Iraq. Iraq never had freedom. China will be too busy planning to strike Taiwan….
I wonder if 65% of Americans would welcome the overthrow of the trump regime?
Less than 30% according to Polls.
33% approve of this illegal invasion? And people wonder how fascist dictatorships take hold of countries.
So would Kamala have invaded Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico or Greenland? Who has been the real war monger revealed?
Everyone is going to start budding up to North Korea now that they have hypersonic nuclear tipped missiles.
lol, greenland! Drink!
Bet on Trump taking on NK before the end of his term. It’s time to bitch slap Kim Jong Un.
There’s a Netflix movie: House of Dynamite about a nuke war. Looks more and more like a “based on a true story” now than fiction.
dude, that’s a bad movie. Try reading.
“Why should we allow some third world communist s***hole to control trillions of dollars worth of oil?”
because it’s theirs and not ours?? i mean, with this logic we should invade and take over dozens of other countries. it’s the 19th century all over again .
Exactly! We have been too afraid to do what needs to be done over many past Presidential administrations. Trump is taking action rather than trying to work through an ineffective UN and the so-called “rule of law”.
WE need to rule the entire globe and moon and mars. PLANET TRUMP
The way you suck up I’m beginning to think you were right in there with trump and Epstein, just part of the crew.
a much bigger percentage then actually voted for Biden but, we got what we got
Biden is gone. Let the trauma go.
if we ever get past the damage he caused……
Yeah I like driving over bridges that may fail, potholes in every interstate big enough to break an axle, govt agencies that don’t respond to information requests and police that continually violate peoples rights and perjure themselves in court with out fear of prosecution.
HE can come in off the bench and help with some genocide joe action in gaza and what not. before his afternoon naps.
