Over 170,000 Illegal Immigrants Flood the US in March, Most in a Decade

Only 24% Approve How Biden Is Handling Border Kids

According to an AP NORC Poll few are satisfied with President Biden’s approach to immigration, border security, and particularly toward the recent surge of unaccompanied children at the southern border.

That question specifically addressed children.

Overall, Biden has a 44% approval rating on his handling of the border, heavily skewed towards 74% of Democrats who say they like what he is doing.

That means 74% of Democrats and 44% of people overall are clueless or simply refuse to think.

Biden Blames Trump

Politico reports Biden Bets That He Can Change How America Thinks About Migration.

I bet he can’t, especially with millions of US citizens in search of a job. Meanwhile here’s a Q&A

Q: What do politicians do when facing a situation that’s out of control?
A: Blame their predecessor.

In calls with House lawmakers this week, Biden administration officials repeatedly stressed that they inherited a disaster from the Trump administration, and said that the solutions would not be painless or quick. In a separate call with Democratic communications aides on the Hill, White House officials reiterated that the “real crisis is in Central America,” according to several people on the call. Biden and his team are emphasizing the “root causes” of migration surges, and their renewed diplomatic efforts with Central American countries, which lapsed under the Trump administration.

The problem is complex, and Trump did not create it. It’s been ongoing for decades.

Biden did downplay it just as Angela Merkel did with a huge surge of immigrants attempting to escape Mideast wars, especially in Syria.

Send Them Back

Biden roundly criticized Trump for sending them back and turning them away.

Q: What’s Biden doing?
A: Sending them back and turning them away.

The number of unaccompanied children arriving at the border hit a monthly-high in March, exceeding the last record-high in May of 2019. In total, some 170,000 people were apprehended by border patrol last month. About 100,000 of those migrants were single adults, who have been routinely removed from the U.S. by the Biden administration under a Trump-era public health authority.

There’s also simmering Democratic and activist frustration with Biden’s continued use of the Trump-era authority — known as Title 42 — to expel the majority of people encountered at the border. Publicly and privately, the White House has told reporters and Hill staff that they have no timeline to stop using the authority.

Non Solutions

Proving he cannot think clearly, Biden wants to house illegal immigrants in churches, stadiums, and summer camps.

His administration is also racing to expand capacity to humanely house a growing number of child migrants in emergency intake sites — like stadiums, church facilities and summer camps — rather than keep them in tightly-packed border patrol facilities.

Three Q’s, Obvious Answers

Q: What happens to the numbers when the word gets out we are housing and feeding all comers in stadiums?
Q: What the hell do you do when the stadiums fill up?
Q: What happens to Summer camps in the Winter?

Hey, Let’s Put Kamala Harris On the Mission

In addition to bribing Central American countries and filling up stadiums, Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of the mission.

That brings another question to the forefront: Why did Biden put Harris in charge of the border crisis?

The average annual income in El Salvador is $4,000; in Guatemala it is $4,610; and in Honduras it is $2,310.

People are still leaving those countries to come here; moreover, there is little — if any — reason to think it ever will [stop]. The differences between conditions in Central America and the United States are too great, particularly economic conditions.

When asked on the second night of the 2019 Democratic debates if an undocumented alien should be deported if his only offense is not having documents, her response was, “I will say, no, absolutely not. They should not be deported.”

Is she an effective negotiator?

Harris’s record as a senator indicates that being able to change the minds of people she disagrees with isn’t one of her strong points, and she seems to be aware of this shortcoming. When she was a candidate for the presidency, she admitted that she would not be able to persuade Congress to pass immigration reform legislation. Her plan was to rely instead on executive actions.

She was one of just three Democrats who voted against a compromise that would have given the Trump administration billions of dollars for a border wall in exchange for a path to citizenship for Dreamers.

So why would Biden choose her to lead his administration’s efforts to work with the Central American and Mexican governments to stop the flood of illegal crossings?

Apparently, he doesn’t want to secure the border either.

The Pledge

In December 2020, Biden told reporters that he would establish a more “humane policy” at the borders but that he would need “probably the next six months” to rebuild a system to process migrants and secure funding for immigration judges.

Three months down and three to go before the buzzer sounds.

Not to worry. Biden is unlikely to last a full term anyway. Soon the problem will be someone else’s.

Oh, wait a second. What will president Harris do?

Addendum

As expected, this post brought up multiple charges of me supporting Democrats. I didn’t and did not vote for Biden.

One reader, ThreeBlindMice got it right.

My bet is that the American public would go with the (to me) obvious answer of 1. securing the border and 2. granting amnesty (legal residency) to those here. Without a secure border, we’ll need amnesty again soon. We’re not going to deport millions who’ve been here for years. And we can’t take anyone who wants to come in.

Trump had on his plate an offer from Chuch Schumer to build a wall for $20 billion in return for amnesty for long-term residents with no crime record. He turned it down. And here we are.

It makes no sense to kick out millions of productive people who have been in the US for a long time.

ThreeBlindMice is also correct about taking in all comers. Milton Friedman said: “Open borders and free services are not compatible.” It does not matter if free services is why they come or not.

Trump did not cause the problem but he turned down a golden opportunity to make things much better.

Makes me wonder…How s Venezuela doing these days after a US boycot in order to achieve regime change? People were(are) even cut off from imported food and medicines…Venezuela can t restructure its debt because of US’ sanctions and foreign assets confiscation….You are a fckn great exceptional nation and you ll get everything you deserve….a tsunami of immigrants included…You even fucked up the Middle East so that we, the EU, can’ t escape the consequences of your utterly failed, insane megalomaniac geopolitical policy either. You even armtwisted the worthless EU into helping you to mess up Ukraine ….Thanks. But no thanks US !

The problem with economic migration: it continues until the destination country is the same economically as the departure country.

How would Biden handle white South Africans who seek political asylum?

Two things are apparent from the whole question:
[1] The media and politicians (and many others) move around in a world where they are not actually confronted with the populations affected.
[2] The skew in the opinions show Americans are completely controlled by propaganda and are ideologically doctrinaire, even though they like to think of themselves as practical and pragmatists.

But the liberals are right about US interference has been a catalyst for many of the problems in Latin and Central America (their ‘backyard’), so there is a certain amount of blow back. This recognition does not do anything to help the situation, unless lessons are gleaned for future foreign policy. [Unlikely, since the policy is controlled by private and not public/national interest.]

Mish is still hating on Trump, go figure. There were other parts to Chucks amnesty that we didn’t want, like the millions of relatives coming here. Trump did fix the border, made them stay in Mexico until their case was heard. 95% of those cases were BS so they never got to stay in our country. Stop blaming Trump he worked out a great deal with Mexico and others you are just blinded by your hate.

Democrats need to move MUCH closer to the center on the issue of illegal immigration policy. Independent voters by a margin of 4 to 1 “somewhat or strongly disapprove” of how President Biden is handling the flood if illegal aliens. Those are the swing votes that decide close races.

I don’t care about immigrants’ race. I care that they embrace constitutional values. I’ll take 100 libertarian Ghanians over one German neo-nazi or French cafe commie. Problem is… Americans aren’t even confident in our values any more.

It’s a racist move to let them in since 72% of those who manage to get into the country self-identify as white and their addition to the population results in the Black population stagnating at around 12-13%. Without the immigration the Black population would have been around 20% with a corresponding economic and political clout. We saw this in Florida where before Castro the Black population was almost 25% and after the massive Cuban immigration they dropped down to 14% and stayed there. They didn’t like it and rightfully said that before they were second-class citizens and now they are third-class ones.

It’s an interconnected world. Honduras had 2 cat5 hurricanes hit this last fall. The GDP in all Central America countries fell by double digits in the last year. Crime remains high. Corruption is endemic. Daily needs remain–stomachs can’t wait.

What would you do?

Building walls is the last-gasp step when the driving force moving people is hundreds or thousands of miles away.

They are letting immigrants bum rush the border, get in and then at some point they will push for amnesty and citizenship paths. Imagine 170000 new Democrats howling for benefits. It’s basically what Mexico’s PRI party did. Get everyone on free stuff, have a monolithic voter base dependent on said benefits. Single party rule and endless Democratic admins

170,000 is the number of “border contacts” by border patrol. The real number crossing the border illegally is at least 250,000 per month according to an interview on Fox with a person knowledgeable about human smuggling at the border. 1,000,000 every 4 months. 3,000,000 per year. 12 million for Biden’s first term if the pace keeps up, and why wouldn’t it according to Mish’s comments and the Democrat’s desire to bring in as many as possible. There are 45 million foreign-born people in the US. If the estimate of approximately 20 million are “illegal” is correct, and another 12 million is added to them, then 10% of the country’s population will be illegal aliens. Almost as many as Blacks today at 13% (but you wouldn’t know that by watching TV advertising, where apparently Blacks are the target audience). An the Hispanic birthrate is higher than any race other than Hawaiian or Pacific Islander. Hispanics are currently about 17% of the US population (don’t know if this includes illegals).

I read an item last week from someone on the ground at the border, who said there are at least 2 that get away for every one they catch, which would make the number of entrants half a million, which should be called an invasion. I believe the number of illegals here now is underestimated by 100%.

People aren’t looking for work that these immigrants would take.

“”Total nightmare” is the way FAT Brands Inc CEO Andy Wiederhorn describes the staffing situation for franchisees of his company’s restaurants, which include Johnny Rockets and Fatburger.

“The most recent stimulus check and unemployment benefits have been a catalyst for people to stay at home” instead of looking for work, he said.”

The problem is these immigrants aren’t going to be allowed to take any work even if they become legal because the $15 minimum wage will effectively kill the jobs they could have taken.
