Trump Makes 160 Truth Social Posts in Four Hours. Is that Enough?

Supposedly, a major announcement is coming. We are still waiting.

Wild Midnight Posts

The Independent reports Trump’s wild midnight Truth Social posting binge features over 150 messages ranging from treason to beautiful Melania

President Donald Trump went on a manic Truth Social posting spree Monday night that saw him fire off 150 tweets in mere hours that included compliments about the first lady to conspiracy theories about Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi.

Between 7 p.m. and midnight, the president reposted roughly 150 tweets — averaging about one post every two minutes for five hours — from what appeared to be a random assortment of unknown figures on X and his close allies discussing an unpredictable range of topics. The heaviest concentration of posts occurred between 11 p.m. and midnight, with about 100 posts in the final hour alone.

Less than six hours after capping off his posting spree, the president jumped back on his social media platform at 5.48 a.m., declaring: “TRUTH SOCIAL IS THE BEST! There is nothing even close!!!”

The Truth Social spree included videos of Kamala Harris, flattering comments about himself and attacks against his perceived political rivals.

In one particularly nostalgic post, Trump reposted a video with the caption: “Christmas is officially great again!” The video included a snippet of Trump in Home Alone 2, a clip of Kamala Harris, and footage of the president and Melania Trump looking at Christmas trees.

Trump also once again took aim at Senator Mark Kelly and other Democrats with military backgrounds who issued a video statement last month telling troops they “can and must refuse illegal orders.”

“Mark Kelly and the group of Unpatriotic Politicians were WRONG to do what they did, and they know it! I hope the people looking at them are not duped into thinking that it’s OK to openly and freely get others to disobey the President of the United States,” Trump wrote.

One post about Pelosi called to “lock her up,” baselessly claiming her staffer was involved with the January 6 Capitol riot. Another praised Trump’s efforts to void Biden’s autopen orders.

Mixed into the rage-filled posts was a video Trump posted complimenting Melania’s style. The president later reposted an X user’s reaction to the video: “Grace, elegance and beauty. Our First Lady Melania.”

Others were fawning posts about the president from MAGA allies. Trump reposted a video of Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds delivering remarks, which included him thanking God that Harris didn’t win in 2024. Within the same minute, the president reposted an X user hyping up Trump: “Donald Trump is not a Democrat, he’s not even a republican, he’s a movement! The greatest president to ever live.”

Democratic influencer Harry Sisson quipped: “In the middle of the night, Trump posted on Truth Social well over 150 times in an hour. That’s at least 2 posts a minute. If you had a family member or friend doing this, you’d host an intervention. Trump is not well and he was clearly having a mental decline moment.”

Another X user seemed shocked by the sheer number of posts: “I’ve never seen anything like the absurd number of times Trump posted on Truth Social late last night / this morning. Mostly random screenshots and video clips, but in very rapid succession.”

Was it 150 or 160?

The Guardian noted Trump’s night of 160 posts on Truth Social fuels debate about US president’s stamina

The 79-year-old president’s social media blitz included conspiracies, attacks on political foes and self-praise.

At one point, according to the Daily Beast, which published a chronicle of the avalanche of words and videos that appeared from 7.09pm ET until 11.57pm, the president’s posts were coming in faster than one a minute.

A notable feature of Trump’s Monday spree was the level of repetition. A majority of the reposts from other people’s accounts appeared twice, once in original form, then again almost immediately with commentary added by Trump, or another person who reposted it.

The US president appears to have finally made it to bed sometime after midnight, but was up bright and early again on Tuesday to resume his finger tapping with posts concerning the upcoming Georgia governor’s election, and Tuesday’s congressional House race in Tennessee, attempting to shore up support for the Republican candidate.

“Truth Social is the best. There is nothing even close!!!” Trump posted. Twice.

If you are defending this for any reason, you have Trump Worship Syndrome, TWS.

Is 160 Possibly Enough?

That’s what I am asking this morning.

Q: Enough for what?
A: Good question. Use your imagination.

What comes to my mind is the plunge in the value of Truth Social which trades under the symbol DJT.

Are Trump’s DJT and the Melania Meme Coin Headed to Zero?

On November 30, I asked Are Trump’s DJT and the Melania Meme Coin Headed to Zero?

Trump’s Ownership of DJT

Donald Trump owns 114,750,000 shares of DJT stock, which represents approximately 53% of the company’s outstanding shares, through a revocable trust. He transferred his entire stake to this trust, with his son, Donald Trump Jr., as the sole trustee who has sole voting and investment power.

Donald Trump became legally eligible to sell his shares in Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) in September 2024, after the expiration of a post-merger “lock-up” period.

But Trump has not sold any of his shares. He could have easily unloaded some shares in October-November between $40 and $50.

DJT trades at 1,240 times its annual revenues, according to FactSet.

The closing high of DWAC, the SPAC that became DJT is $97.54. It’s down 88.2 percent since then. The intraday high on DWAC varies by source. It’s down 93.3 percent if one uses 175 as the high.

Clearly this is a shocking decline because we all know: “Truth Social is the best. There is nothing even close!!!” Trump posted. Twice.

President Trump has always used his stamina and energy as a political strength. But that image is getting harder for him to sustain.

Mish, what you “can’t stand” is different from “what affects your interests”.
If Republicans strive for i) lower taxes, ii) lower energy prices, iii) controlled immigration, iv) no repeated acquittals of violent criminals (while the democrats intentionally strive for the opposite in all these), I will vote for Republicans even if the President is a wound-up toy from Amazon.
You must be quite wealthy to care more about style & aesthetics than results. Though even in this case, the current Democrats as a whole team would still lose. You sound very accustomed to older politics in the USA, where nothing much would change from Party A to Party B, when Hillary was screaming against illegal immigrants more than the Republicans. Things are very different now. Did you see the new mayor of Seattle? You thought Mamdani was as bad as it can get?

If he was crazy he would have fired them already. you have no action to support this assumption. On the other hand, the continuous acquittals of dangerous criminals by democrat-appointed judges, to the point that a train passenger is burned alive by one of them with 40 acquittals, constitutes not only a World Record in Human History of Awarding Dangerous Crimes, but that your party is packed with dangerous perverts. I’d take the deranged commentator any day. Just wish that the father of the next murdered passenger is not named “Timothy”.

You have been taken in by the “Biden bad” crowd. Sorry if you have not realized that yet.

Were the votes not cast by those voters who didn’t turn out counted, neither would have won the presidential election. That’s the kind of representativeness of the POTUS. Not just of the Donald, but every POTUS for the last few decades.

Mish – lots to commend about Libertarianism but I still haven’t heard a proposal for how markets don’t just descend into billionaire driven monopolies. An article similar to your Fed proposal on this would be appreciated.

Nobody can really define libertarianism, because they themselves accept laws and regulations, which, however, would apply if a company is in California trading with NY, but not if a company is in China trading with NY. They apply if a company hires contractors over the Internet in Omaha, but not if they are in Italy or India.
The tax code they propose leaves out almost all trust structures, makes no differentiation between the income from an full-fledged corporation and an LLC or any other form, assumes that there’s only one way to split and distribute an inheritance, etc. etc. – it’s like elementary school 101 introductory source.
The reason the tax code is so complex, is that the economic and legal structures are very complex too. But the vast majority of people are not subjected to the complexity. If your economic life is simple, it takes minutes to file a tax return with modern software.
Eventually, libertarianism also destroys local culture (which is a tree that needs generations to grow): Ben Shapiro expressed it recently, “if you can’t afford it, just leave“. Great! Let’s become a nation of continuously moving nomads like gypsies, renting over-priced apartments from robotic corporations, and expect any local culture to ever develop or grow. Or expect human beings to be retrained for careers in their 50s and 60s as if they are immortal and perpetually healthy.
Libertarian countries never existed (unless they were fully supported and protected by a non-libertarian protector country). You want a libertarian USA? Fine. It will immediately pull out the entire US fleet from the oceans, bringing all international trade to an immediate stop. That includes oil for the Europeans, which would make Putin the King of the Continent.
I was very sympathetic to libertarians years ago, until I realized it’s just a hobby theory for entertainment purposes only.

Very frightening. Donnie Demento’s mental faculties are rapidly deteriorating and the Republican politicians are scared witless by the guy and his MAGA movement. How many Central and South American countries is he now threatening?

Difficult to see how this ends well.

Isn’t this all just a panic reaction to MAGA fragmenting. He simply seems to be doing his best to bring the faithful round to a load of sound bites. The more issues he puts on the table then the less Epstein, murder in the carribean, the Trump family law firm (aka DoJ), the corruption, the Russian collusion (Witkoff) get any air time.

I really do not get the MAGA die hards on here who can’t see what Trump is doing to your great country. What a total embarrassment…the whole world is laughing at you right now.

With all the problems that face the country and the good you can do by educating people about them, this pettiness is beneath you. We get it. You hate the guy. Can you just get back to your economic analysis again?

You have become as whiney as Trump is. He’s got 3 more years and I don’t know if you will survive it.

The rest of adults will take it in stride and not make everything he does the focus of our attention.

During Trump’s first term, deep state operative John Kelly started off as Trump’s Secretary of Homeland Security but soon took over as Chief of Staff.

I got the clear sense at the time it was not Trump’s idea and that a ‘coup’ of sorts had taken place to rein Trump in. That’s when Trump’s phone was taken away from him.

This time around, it’s clear Trump is more in control. He still has to do the bidding of the MIC, but he’s surrounded by people who allow him to be his unhinged self this time around.
