Trump Witch Hunt Over: No American Was Even Charged With Conspiring With Russia

Today, Robert Mueller has concluded his Trump-Russia Investigation, handing the report to Attorney General William Barr.

Thanks to Glen Greenwald for the Tweet Chain of the day. It regards the witch hunt which just concluded.

Tweet Chain of the Day

  • The Mueller investigation is complete and this is a simple fact that will never go away: not one single American was charged, indicted or convicted for conspiring with Russia to influence the 2016 election – not even a low-level volunteer. The number is zero.
  • Compare what cable hosts (let’s leave them unnamed) & Democratic operatives spent two years claiming this would lead to – the imprisonment of Don, Jr., Jared, even Trump on conspiracy-with-Russia charges – to what it actually produced. A huge media reckoning is owed.
  • Don’t even try to pretend the point of the Mueller investigation from the start wasn’t to obtain prosecutions of Americans guilty of conspiring with Russia to influence the outcome of the election or that Putin controlled Trump through blackmail. Nobody will believe your denials.
  • Are we now ready to rid ourselves of the thrilling espionage fantasy that Trump is controlled by Putin and the Kremlin using blackmail? There’s no way Robert Mueller would have gone 18 months without telling anyone about this if it were true, right? How could that be justified?
  • Perhaps now we can focus on the actually consequential actions the Trump administration is taking and finally move past the deranged conspiracy theories that have drowned US discourse for 2+ years. A side benefit will be not ratcheting up tension between 2 nuclear-armed powers.
  • Giving up these exciting conspiracy theories about international blackmail & convening panels to decipher all the genius hidden maneuvers of Mueller will be bad for cable ratings, book sales & the Patreon accounts of online charlatans. But it’ll be very healthy in all other ways.
  • The desperate attempts to salvage something from this debacle by the Mueller dead-enders are just sad. Yes, the public hasn’t read the Mueller report. But we *know* he ended his investigation without indicting a single American for conspiring with Russia to influence the election.
  • Trump, Jr. testified for hours and hours before Congress, including about the Trump Tower meeting. If he lied there, or to Mueller, why didn’t Mueller indict him for perjury, lying to Congress or obstruction? Same questions for Kushner. Stop embarrassing yourselves.
  • US discourse has been drowned for 2+ years with conspiratorial, unhinged, but highly inflammatory and unhinged idiocy – playing games with two nuclear-armed powers because of anger over the 2016 election. It’s time to stop. Mueller ended his work. We see the public indictments.
  • And to be clear: I’ve urged a full investigation into these Trump/Russia claims from the start, from before Mueller was appointed, with full disclosure. I still favor that – precisely to end the reckless speculation to which we’ve been endlessly subjected.

For those who may be wondering, Greenwald is a Socialist Progressive who supports AOC, not of the rabid-Right.

“it was never a witch hunt.”

Of course it was. A two-year investigation in which no one was even charged, let along convicted of colluding with Russia to influence the election is proof enough.

The Russia/Putin/Trump distraction has been going on since November 2016. 28 long months of distracting the American public from the real issues facing them – which is their declining standard of living and the country falling apart all around them.

No need for the Russia story anymore as now Americans will be distracted by the Presidential race, which will drag on until Nov. 2020. That’s all you’ll hear about in the news until then, 24/7.

Meanwhile, the country will continue to decline and fall apart while the looting and pillaging and corruption continues with no pushback from the people because they are too zombified and distracted by the “news” that is being fed to them.

“Russia interfered in the election” is Democrats “WMD in Iraq” moment.

Some Dems saw thru the WMD in Iraq lies. That is why it is so ironic the same folks who told us WMD in Iraq, are believed by Dems when they tell us the lies that Russia interfered in the election only because Dems have been blinded by their hatred of Trump.

You’d think Dems would have learned. But, they fell for the Russia nonsense just like Republicans fell for the WMD in Iraq nonsense.

Reminder:

The original claim that started it all, is that the “Russians” hacked DNC internet and gave Podesta’s damning emails to Wikileaks – emails that showed how corrupt Hillary and the DNC is.

The is has been proven to be false. That is not a opinion, it is an incontrovertible fact.

The download speeds of the info downloaded have been analyzed (See Bill Binny) and they can NOT be achieved via internet. They can only be done by direct hookup to the device. These means the it was not a hack but an internal leak by someone within the DNC office. And if you think about it, it’s much more likely a disgruntled Bernie supporter saw that Hillary was doing to Bernie what she falsely accused Russia was doing to her…and decided to show us how corrupt Hillary is.

And it’s not just downloads. The artifacts on the emails are not consistent with internet downloads but with thumbnail or similar direct hookup downloads.

Muellers task: to investigate Russian meddling in election. Task complete, meddling uncovered. Fact. People trying to move the goalpost now: obvious.

Yes, it was shown that the Russians did try to meddle in the election. Of course, the US has meddled in other countries elections in the past, so it isn’t surprising that others would meddle in ours. What was not shown was that Trump, or his people, conspired with the Russians. So far as I know, the only Presidential Candidate that has been shown to collude with the Russians was Ted Kennedy:

“Muellers task: to investigate Russian meddling in election. Task complete, meddling uncovered. Fact. People trying to move the goalpost now: obvious.”

Was that Mueller’s actual task? Or is that just BS fed to the public, as a cover story for another purpose- an attempt to remove a legally elected President from office? After all, Rosenstein was supposedly willing to wear a wire as part of a plot to remove Trump by way of the 25th Amendment.

Simply investigating Russian meddling didn’t require a special prosecutor.

It was an attempt by the democrats to pull off a coup. The word democrat is an oxymoron with these neo-Bolsheviks.

Zero is such a disgusting number when it confounds and undermines one’s firmly-anchored worldview.
Better to console oneself with thoughts of the billions in revenue from inciting the opposing mobs than confront it.
As Churchill said of the truth. “…in the end, there it is…” and utterly indifferent to us all.
Move on, indeed.

So dumb Mish, I used to think you were smart, but you haven’t been right about anything since 2008… there’s already all kinds of ugly stuff that has come to the surface re: Trump and the Russians… he was trying to build a hotel in moscow during the election, lied to the American people about it, and directed his people to lie about it as well. This is all public knowledge. And the Mueller report is not released to the public yet, so we don’t know what it says. He proved the Russians meddled in the election and brought charges against Russian agents accused of doing just that- in 2016-17 you claimed that this hadn’t happened, but it did and it’s now public knowledge. You’re dishonest or dumb.

This whole thing was about setting perjury traps and investigating trumps business dealings. If a nuclear war with Russia became slightly more likely so be it because democratic good and Republican bad… or flip it around it you are on the other side.

Can no one see some good from this? Yesterday the President was under this cloud. Today the cloud has been removed. I’d call it a good thing that widely held suspicions were proved wrong. Lord knows the President has enough other clouds to deal with. They should be enough to keep his critics baying at the moon for the rest of his presidency. (I am not a Trump supporter, but right is right..)

The best quote I’ve seen on this was from Bill Maher: “Did the Democrats put too must trust in the Mueller report? Because I don’t need the Mueller report to know he’s a traitor. I have a TV”.

There you have it. A thorough investigation costing many millions of dollars doesn’t matter because of his faith in the entertainment industry.

The only outcome by Mueller even putativley relative to the election is that Russians made some Facebook posts for the purpose of selling advertising which Mueller and company could pretend was pertinent to the election.

I still think at a minimum the AG need to finish reading the report. At some point one might wonder how Russian spy agencies could know so little about US politics as to be trying to invest in Trump rather than Clinton, who appeared more likely to win.

Trump only has himself to blame. From the historic miscalculation of firing Comey to obstruct the investigation, followed by 2 years of incessant tweeting and whining to ensure that the Mueller probe was always in the news instead of running quietly in the background, Trump was a true moron.

Does anyone want politicians who were constantly claiming collusion running the country? They have no reasoning capability, are hysterical and vindictive.

Yes, yes. Those crazy democrats were tweeting 20 or 30 times a week about the Mueller investigation. Bringing it up at every “rally”, every press conference, and every John McCain funeral. Who would want such an hysterical person in charge?
