The Hill: Bill Clinton sought State’s permission to meet with Russian nuclear official during Obama uranium decision.

Investors Business Daily: Senate Investigates Russia, Hillary Clinton, Obama, Uranium And Bribes — And It's About Time

It's finally dawning on people: The Russian nuclear racketeering was an Obama administration scandal, which Congress ignored and the Justice Department investigated but did nothing to stop. Justice looked into the Russian crimes in 2009 and 2010, but waited until 2014 to do anything about it. And even then, it didn't answer any of the larger questions. It can't be ignored any longer.

"According to government documents and recent news reports, the Justice Department had an ongoing criminal investigation for bribery, extortion, money laundering, into officials for a Russian company making purchase of Uranium One," said Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. "That purchase was approved during previous administration and resulted in Russians owning 20% of America's uranium mining capacity."

Slate: Mocks the Story Fox News Found a Russia Story It Likes: Obama and Clinton Were the Real Colluders!

I still have no idea what the actual story here is, and at this point I am unwilling to say that the Hill’s coverage and Fox’s extrapolations are entirely baseless. If there’s malfeasance here, I want someone to find it, and if Fox finds it first, then good for Fox. But a close look at the story’s evolution and trajectory from 7 p.m. on Wednesday to 7 a.m. on Thursday indicated that investigative journalism is not the network’s only aim and that some of its personalities are far more interested in deflecting attention from President Trump’s troubles than in getting to the bottom of whatever this story actually is. Somehow, I don’t think the next few days of coverage will make it any clearer.

Washington Post:Defends Hillary in Making sense of Russia, uranium and Hillary Clinton.

Hannity is jumping waaay ahead of the facts. So is Breitbart News. The New York Times reported in 2015 that “as the Russians gradually assumed control of Uranium One in three separate transactions from 2009 to 2013, Canadian records show, a flow of cash made its way to the Clinton Foundation.

”It is virtually impossible to view these donations as anything other than an attempt to curry favor with Clinton. Donations alone do not, however, prove that Clinton was actually influenced by money to vote in favor of the Uranium One sale — or to overlook the FBI investigation. Again, there is no evidence that she even knew about the investigation.

Similarly, it is virtually impossible to view foreign dignitaries' habit of lodging at Trump's Washington hotel as anything other than an attempt to curry favor with the president. Reservations and room service alone do not, however, prove that Trump's foreign policy is actually influenced by money.

Some people willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt are denying Clinton the same courtesy.

The Real Story

Hannity dramatically overplayed the relevance of the deal from a uranium security aspect.

There is plenty of uranium in the world. The sale itself is not that important. Russia just happens to be one of the few places left that refines uranium.

  • The real deal is not the uranium, it's the kickbacks, the bribes, and the coverups.
  • It's the constant beat of the Russia! Russia! Russia! drums by mainstream media before a sudden sound of silence.
  • It's a rush to judgment over fake news, while looking the other way over serious allegations backed up by with reasonable evidence.
  • It's the suppression of the story by the Obama administration, arguably to protect the Clinton Foundation.
  • To top it off, an FBI Informant was "Threatened" After Offering Details Linking Clinton Foundation to Russian Bribery Case.

An informant who signed a nondisclosure agreement with the FBI faces jail if he says what he knows. WTF? Why is the FBI protecting the Clintons?

Coverage of that aspect of BillaryGate by mainstream media: Zero.

Move along. There's nothing to see. Obviously, on purpose.
