Trump in the Lead in 15 Battleground States? Don’t Believe It

Hannity reports Joe in Trouble: Trump Beating Biden in 15 Battleground States

A shocking new poll spells big trouble for Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden; showing President Trump beating Biden in 15 battleground states that will likely decide the 2020 election.

583 People Surveyed

The poll was conducted by SSRS for CNN

The CNN Poll was conducted by SSRS May 7-10 among a random national sample of 1,112 adults reached on landlines or cellphones by a live interviewer, including 1,001 registered voters and 583 voters in battleground states, defined as the 15 states decided by 8 points or less in 2016 — Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Survey Math

583 people / 15 states = 38.9 people per battleground state.

Surveying less that 40 people per state then averaging them together is of course ridiculous.

So, let’s dive further into individual state polls.

Latest State Polls

  • May 12-21: North Carolina: Even
  • May 18-19: Michigan: Biden +6
  • May 11-17: Michigan: Biden +3
  • May 10-14: Pennsylvania: Biden +9
  • May 6-8: Wisconsin: Biden +9
  • May 1-5: Michigan: Biden +9
  • May 16-18: Georgia: Biden +1
  • May 14-17: Florida: Biden +5
  • May 14-17: Florida: Biden +1
  • May 3-16: Virginia: Biden +12
  • May 9-11: Arizona: Biden +8
  • May 7-11: Colorado: Biden +13
  • May 11-13: Georgia: Trump +2
  • Florida: May 8-12: Biden +5
  • May 7-9: North Carolina: Trump +3

Those are not in date order. Rather, they are in the order in which FiveThirtyEight presented them.

The SSRS poll is clearly ridiculous, but that is what happens when you poll an average 39 people for 15 states then lump everything together.

Shocker

If you are looking for a shocker, look no further than Georgia.

Georgia was not supposed to even be in play for Biden, yet the more recent of the two polls has Biden in the lead.

Not a Shocker

Hannity all of a sudden believes a poll sponsored by CNN.

Only polls I trust are the ones that got the 2016 election correct…..which basically means none.

Doesn’t really matter who wins and hasn’t for a very long time.
The agenda is in place regardless.
Am amazed that people still are fooled by the theater.

Why would anyone vote to reelect Trump lol?He hasn’t done chit except borrow (print)craploads of money and lavished it on Wall Street and his banker buddies, while the economy goes to complete chit! In all fairness I did say the exact same thing about Obama (verbatim lol)and that idiot (some how?)managed to get reelected which is why the country is in this unholy mess!

Um lets see Biden has dementia.
He insulted the democratic black base.
Has a rape allegation hanging around his neck.
Bernie backers hate him.
Hunter…
He cannot do a single interview without looking like a fool.
Yeah he is going to win in a landslide.

He’s going to win in a landslide. He’s beating the dotard in every poll. Joe will be riding the blue wave and there is nothing any of you Trumpsters can do about it. Reality bites for you.

Lets see
Trump has dementia
He is racist, not just against African Americans, but all people of colour
His is a misogynist and has had to pay off many women to keep them quiet
Anyone but Trump backers hate him
He cannot do a single interview or media slot without sounding like a fool
He is going to lose in a landslide.
There fixed it for you.

So, Democrats got hysterical that Trump is mentally ill, corrupt, lying, elderly and touches women inappropriately. They struggled greatly but finally found a candidate who’s competitive in all of those areas.

China vs US. Who wins? We are facing the Borg ….. and the Enterprise is no where to be found.

The only candidate with those attributes is the criminal in the white house. You Trumpsters are so uneducated, Trump does love the uneducated and I can see why. They are only ones dumb enough to vote for him.

The fact that there are more than 5 or 6 swing states at all is a testiment to Trump’s incompetence. Look, if Barry Goldwater’s far right conservative Arizona is a swing state now (it is) then the GOP is in trouble. Another thing to note is no solidly blue state has changed status to a swing state. But, Texas is about as solid a red state as they come as well as being the largest red state by far, and many now have it in the swing state category. The cities are polling more purple/blue with each election.

It is time for the GOP to start changing it’s brand, that does not mean getting dragged to the left by the progressives the way the democrats have been. But, they need to drop their overt contempt for science, their following of douchebags like McConnell and Trump, they need to stop wearing hate for immigrants on their sleeve as if it were something to be proud of.

There are a LOT of problems and it just is not necessary or productive to simply be the anti democrats. They need to come up with answers and reasons for their positions and policies. And they must MUST stop putting Wall Street and the 10% above the workers and 90%. They have to stop being so damned greedy, it has gone too far.

I can honestly see the day in the not too distant future when the centrists will be the progressives, the democrats will be the right, and god knows what kind of green/anarchists will be the left, with the republicans gone the way of the whigs.

Trump will beat Biden. I don’t know why there is even a question.

Biden called black people stupid this week.

There is two people that Trump can beat. For some reason that’s the only two people the dems can put against him.

I personally think politics makes people stupid. What’s funny as hell is a don’t care for Trump.

But when the media dismisses a rape allegation after doing the opposite not to long ago, it might be time to read some different news guys.

Yeah, not buying it. The comment that started the kerfuffle with a FEW blacks was nothing if you listen to it and the resulting BS was all about a few black people trying to make a name for themselves.

As to the so called rape allegation, first of all it was never alleged that he raped that woman, it simply is not credible. It also was not rape, as far as I can tell the worst accusations against him have all been about simply inappropraiate touching because it made XYorZ feel a bit oooookie. The most recent and serious of the accusations is from a woman that has had mental health problems going back about as far as early adulthood, and has grown in seriousness with every retelling, and mind you she also found the Bernie religion and converted at some point in the past so absolutely anything she says against any democrat can me dismissed outright as just another attack by Sanders on the democratic institution. Thank god he will be too old or dead to run again in the next campaign. I can only imagine an election cycle with no Sanders to rip on democrats and lie about everything we stand for or have done.

As someone who truly is not a fan of Trump personally I think he wins relatively big come November. I perhaps will even be voting for him. Strangely enough my biggest reason is to teach both the intelligence agencies (which I believe honestly attempted a soft coup attempt) and the media (which i feel have become so blatantly dishonest it is staggering) into waking the fuck up. Also I am a big fan of Trump’s Supreme court nominees so far. Gorsuch is the best judge in a long time, I have not seen one decision he has issued that I disagree with.

I am with you completely. Not a fan of Trumps personality but he has done a pretty good job waking people up the the plundering that has been going on for decades.

I don’t think he has taken the proper route in many instances but the first step is always admitting there is a problem and he has done that well.

And he hasn’t started any new wars.

Real libertarians are anti-rules…so its ironic and a principle failure when a “libertarian” runs for a government position. But Ron Paul has led that false pretense charge for decades…and never mind the money that funded the whole libertarian movement…

Both may be incompetent, and that is debatable. One is senile and the other isn’t. That is isn’t debatable. A vote for anyone other than Trump helps elect a senile man.

Thanks for exposing this terrible survey. I wonder if CNN just wanted a sensational headline. I have done a lot of phone banking and I can tell you that only old people answer the phone. I think it’s nearly impossible these days to get a representative sample from a phone survey unless you keep calling until you get a proper age distribution. I never pick up for unknown callers.

And, even if you keep calling until you get a representative age sample, it still won’t be representative for the reason you give – that there is probably a bias built in that you only sample people who pick up the phone.

Both candidates are incompetent, so does that really matter. I don’t like anything the Republican-Democratic single party system has to offer. Jacob Hornberger is running under the Libertarian Party. He has much more to offer, which means if he actually got elected, he’s be JFKed before he even got sworn in.

People not voting at all or voting for a candidate that has not shot in hell of actually winning an election out of some sense of moral principles is how we ended up in this disaster in the first place. You may have equal distaste for both of the main candidates running for president this year but the real question you have to ask yourself is if voting with your conscience ends up keeping Trump in the white house for another 4 years was it really worth it in the end to stand up for your principles and vote Libertarian??

When The Dumpster® implements/completes his voter suppression efforts there will only be 39 voters in Michigan. The “right” 39 voters.

I agree, it’s less than worthless.
Ann Coulter going off the deep end after Trump today. I agree with her, but the only thing worse is having Biden in the White House basement for four years as senile front man for the left.

  2. Biden will not be sitting in the basement for 4 years. President Harris will be running the show.

There’s something that I don’t get… If you know Biden isn’t going to make it for 4 years, why not just run Kamala Harris as you suggest instead of having her hide behind Joe? Isn’t that totally condescending to Ms. Harris to not voter her in as the candidate to but to hide her behind Joe and let her come in as a lame duck? Doesn’t that say to her, we know you can’t win the presidency as a woman but you’d be a great second fiddle to Joe?

The Democrat primary voters chose Joe, not Kamala.

Let’s not $hit ourselves here, the Democratic Primary Voters don’t pick the candidate, lest we forget 4 years ago with when they screwed Sanders out of the nomination. If they wanted Harris in as the candidate, the Super Delegates would have made Damn certain she got in. That’s what’s so disingenuous about the Democratic Party. They preach that they’re the party of inclusion & understanding all while calling anyone that they don’t like a racist, misogynist, homophobe yada yada, but that is in fact what they exactly are. To borrow a page from Biden’s latest gaffe yesterday, let’s call a spade a spade, they didn’t pick a woman this time because they don’t think a woman can win the presidency, but they’re willing to have her wait in the wings in case Joe can’t fulfill his duties, I believe that’s the definition of sexism, you can’t have it both ways by calling everyone else names if you can’t look in the mirror and see that’s exactly what the Democrats are themselves. The Dems need to butch up and run her as a candidate and let Joe out to pasture before he starts a race war like we haven’t seen in a while
