Like anything humans do every word, every action, comes with an emotion attached by the onlooker or the listener. And individuals who sit at the top positions of authority and prestige in any given society historically understand this.
Social etiquette becomes extremely important in politics, managing people, and being a parent (to name a few) because it can buy time to figuring out problems, it can motivate others, many times it get people to do things they normally wouldn’t do, but most importantly it’s the foundational block for building trust.
That trust therefore is the beginning of a social contract and when people see individuals in the top positions of authority and prestige in any given society disregard the practice of social etiquette they instantly understand that they are placed in a position of powerlessness and now are put on the offensive.
Making people feel powerless in positions of power, especially when there isn’t a shared worldview or culture, can lead to crazy things like trade wars and real wars. We shouldn’t be celebrating this type of behavior, and we surely shouldn’t be condoning such behavior by turning a blind eye to it and it’s consequences.
At the present time warfare is changing so fast that this pause in wholesale fighting is forcing the U.S. to re-imagine drone warfare.

He didn’t respond with excuses, the way so many Trump cultists and Obama groupies do. His methods and goals were often unsavory, but Huey P. Long, delivered results. Not hope and change, not triggering the libs, but results in the form of concrete material benefits (roads, bridges, schools, literacy classes, voting rights, bank regulation, etc.) for the average frustrated Louisianan.
Long not only got things done, he got so much done, he transformed Louisiana in only a few years. For generations after his death, people named their children after Huey Long, and the Long name was enough to get a politician elected in Louisiana.
Trump could have been a sort of Huey P. Long. Instead, he is a buffoon, a man has fixed nothing, improved nothing, and who is making populism into toxic radioactive Kryptonite for generations to come.

The farms are being bought out of bankruptcy by corporate farms and “Farming Families” are being destroyed. In the process, the windrows that used to divide smaller parcels/fields are removed along with the vestiges of wildlife that were clinging to life.
Without miles of windrows, the soils dry out more quickly and organics blow away and are depleted which dries the soils even quicker. It is a vicious circle that requires ever more irrigation and fertilizers. Larger tractors compress the depleted soils and when rain comes? It rushes off instead of being absorbed. Streams are suffocated by sand and silt, leaving lifeless ditches.
Large Corporations that deplete the land after profiting from it can write the land off and bankrupt their local sub-corporations. Then the parent corporation moves on to new areas without restoration of the land or consequences.
