An All American Truumph
Yahoo Variety says Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Was an All-American Triumph. Turning Point USA’s Was a Boring MAGA Grift With Kid Rock.
It was a fitting start for a slapdash night of music that seemed half-hearted from the start. The whole event was predicated on outrage from the MAGA faithful over Bad Bunny, a proud Puerto Rican who performs in Spanish, being selected to perform the Super Bowl halftime show. Because those angry about Bad Bunny couldn’t say the quiet part out loud — outside of Turning Point conspicuously surveying fans about what kinds of music they would want, and one of the choices was “Anything in English” — vague language was instead used to invoke patriotism.
Unfortunately, the All-American Halftime Show was unable to evoke much more than a shrug, with halfhearted pop-country performances that showed the limitations of booking a big show with minimal talent.
As the YouTube live viewer count approached 5.5 million viewers, Brantley Gilbert’s guitarist kicked things off with a solo electric guitar rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that would struggle to elicit more than polite applause from Jimi Hendrix. Drenched in red lighting, Gilbert’s set was inoffensive twang that felt like the emotional resonance was sucked out by a rock-and-roll vampire.
Breaking it down with a big fedora and jean shorts, Kid Rock resembled someone’s fun-loving uncle four drinks deep in a Tampa karaoke bar. But it quickly became clear that the self-described “American Bad Ass” decided that lip syncing to the backing track was too square, so he just kinda…stopped. It was the night’s only truly unexpected moment.
Meanwhile, while the Turning Point show screamed about patriotism, Bad Bunny’s official show was filled with highlight after highlight of things that are exciting about America: A nation full of people who came here with talent and differences worth embracing. Even if you don’t speak Spanish, the visual storytelling evoked so many people living the American dream, from the workers in the opening segment, to elderly folks, female friendships, dancing, drinks and unabashed jubilation and unity.
Ignore the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot of a few guys grinding on each other, and there was even plenty that the MAGA crowd would enjoy if they bothered to watch it: A real-life wedding! Beautiful women dancing! A great, big declaration of “God Bless America”!
But there was never going to be a good-faith effort to meet Bad Bunny’s show halfway. Like clockwork, Trump sent out a long message on Truth Social minutes after it ended, slamming it as quickly as possible. (Note to Trump: “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying” … he sings in Spanish, dude! Better take that cognitive test again.)
In the end, the final words shown during Bad Bunny’s performance were seen on a massive video screen: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
The final words on the Turning Point broadcast? “Get involved,” next to a QR code begging for more money.

Trump’s Reaction

“Together We Are America”
Michael Sellers discusses Bad Bunny on his substack post “Together We Are America”
Bad Bunny didn’t come looking for confrontation. He came offering inclusion. The backlash tells you where the country is.
This halftime show didn’t feel like entertainment bolted onto football. It felt like a sequence of choices—almost a short film—each vignette illuminating a value. Things beloved in Latin culture, yes, but also things that should be beloved by all of us: community, dignity, joy, family, love without apology. The show wasn’t asking permission. It wasn’t picking a fight. It was simply laying down a picture of America that millions of Americans already live in, every day, whether the rest of the country wants to look at it or not.
It started, memorably, in the sugar cane fields.
That choice did a lot of quiet work. It grounded the whole spectacle in labor, history, and place—something rooted, grown, made by human hands. It was a reminder that culture doesn’t begin on a stage. It begins in a landscape, in work, in families, in memory.
Then the show moved through a series of small scenes, one after another, each carrying a signal: not “Look at me,” but “Look at us.”
And then came the wedding.
A real wedding, at midfield, in the middle of the most watched broadcast of the year—a pure, confident celebration of community. It wasn’t political in the lecturing sense. It was political in the oldest sense: a public affirmation of the social fabric. The message wasn’t “agree with me.” The message was “this is what we are made of.”
Bad Bunny did something very difficult there: he made the show a love letter without turning it into a scold.
That’s the balancing act I can’t stop thinking about. He made point after point—about identity, belonging, language, pride—without confrontation and without anger. No grievance. No demand for applause from the people who would never give it. Just a steady insistence that joy is not an argument you can refute. It either moves you, or it reveals what you’ve chosen not to hear.
The closing sequence crystallized the thesis.
He names the countries—one after another—widening the “we,” widening the frame, the hemisphere, the diaspora. A lot of Americans hear that and think “foreign.” But that’s the point: millions of Americans hear it and think “home.” Then he makes it explicit: the “we” moment, the line about love—“the only thing stronger than hate is love”—and finally the simplest prop in the world, used like a signature: a football turned toward the camera with four words, “Together we are America.”
Not subtle. Not ambiguous. A thesis statement. And here’s the thing: you don’t get a culture-war reaction because a halftime show has a point. Every halftime show has a point. You get a culture-war reaction when the point lands on an open nerve—when it challenges an older definition of America that some people still treat as the only legitimate one.
Which is why the backlash, including Trump’s, sounded the way it did: “Nobody understands a word,” “disgusting,” “not our standards,” “for young children watching.”
And it’s worth pausing here, because this is where the moment gets interesting. Bad Bunny didn’t perform defiance. He performed inclusion. He didn’t mock the people who don’t speak Spanish. He didn’t ask the audience to pick sides. He offered a version of America big enough to hold everyone—and he did it with warmth. The show’s whole rhetorical strategy was: I’m not here to fight you. I’m here to remind you we’re already in the same room.
So if someone felt attacked by that, it tells you something—not about Bad Bunny, but about the fragility of the identity they’re defending.
That’s why I kept thinking about it after the game. Because the Super Bowl is one of the last shared national rituals we have left—one of the few nights when, in theory, Americans watch the same thing at the same time. When a halftime show becomes the main event in your mind, it isn’t just about whether it was “good.” It’s about what it means that this is where we are now: a country where a fifteen-minute love letter to community can be heard as an affront.
And maybe that’s the real headline—not “Bad Bunny divides America,” but “America is so divided that even a halftime show has to carry the burden of proving who counts.”
Because if “Together we are America” is controversial, then the controversy isn’t about music. It’s about whether we still believe “together” is even possible in this hot mess of a country.

Super Bowl LX Viewership Down 2%, Draws 124.9 Million Viewers
NBC says Super Bowl LX drew a huge TV audience, underscoring the game’s dominance even without another ratings record.

UPDATED Feb 10, 2026 | 06:59 pm
The Super Bowl LX audience remained enormous—but did not set another record.
After three years of all-time viewership highs in U.S. television history, NBC Sports said late Tuesday that Sunday’s Super Bowl LX averaged 124.9 million viewers, down 2% from last year’s game. Sunday’s game, won by the Seahawks over the Patriots in convincing fashion, was likely dragged down by a dominant defensive performance by Seattle that included no touchdowns by either team until the fourth quarter.
Spinning the half time show viewing:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47891761/super-bowl-lx-bad-bunny-half-fall-shy-ratings-records
Bad Bunny’s halftime show averaged 128.2 million viewers from 8:15-8:30 p.m. Eastern. That would make it the fourth-most watched halftime behind Kendrick Lamar (133.5 million, 2025), Michael Jackson (133.4 million, 1993) and Usher (129.3 million, 2024).
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show (2026) set a record with 142.3 million viewers, breaking the previous year’s record.

SAN FRANCISCO — Another critical change in how Nielsen tabulates television viewership will be tested during Super Bowl LX, likely resulting in additional audience boosts for the NFL.
The measurement agency has finalized plans for a pilot program during NBC’s broadcast of the Feb. 8 game between the Seahawks and Patriots that will look to better assess group viewing patterns. Nielsen has distributed among its viewership panel smartwatch-type wearable devices that passively captures audio codes from TV broadcasts.
While Nielsen conducted some additional testing of the enhanced co-viewing technology during the NFL’s recent conference championship games, Super Bowl LX will mark the formal start of the pilot program. The game is set to at least challenge, if not surpass, last year’s average audience of 127.7 million for the Super Bowl that established a U.S. television audience record.
Couldn’t they have gotten a good bunny? But this is all just bread and circuses for the sheeple. To h#ll with them all.

As of the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 9, the NFL’s official YouTube upload of the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show had surpassed 35 million views, while Turning Point USA’s stream had accumulated roughly 20 million total views since posting — the vast majority of those views coming after the broadcast ended.
It’s been on the front page of reddit …. people are watching it and bagging on Kid.
Super Bowl. Kids are watching. Hard to believe that any rational person can endorse this halftime show.

I don’t believe he ever mentioned whether or not he supported Donald Trump’s previous statements.
Both can be true at once.
Two wrongs don’t make a right.
I think Trump is a disgusting disaster and this official super bowl halftime was also a disgusting disaster.
Every superbowl is a new record. The half time show was fine. Wasn’t great, wasn’t terrible. Just like the game. Just a lot of meh.
The playoffs were awesome… all of them.
Poor Trumpster did not get it at all.
The vile old pedophile only thinks in terms of who he and his sycophants can exploit.
Meanwhile over in Italy, his shitbird VP is being booed or ignored.
Now break that down by geographical area and see what happens. Quality over Quantity
I found both half time shows to be uninspiring, nothing new to see or hear here. From a musical perspective, I found Bad Bunny performance to be lazy, hard to understand and nearly unwatchable, Ricky Martin is a powerful singer and while I’m a Lady Gaga fan, her performance was meh. The studio environment of the All-American show, failed to meet the moment.
The performance was simply catered to the NFL marketing to international Latin fans. They are trying to expand.
The BB performance seemed degrading to the Latin community. I saw an elitist entertainer walking around laborers. There is more to the Latin culture than serving the wealthy, but that is exactly what was depicted. Why not honor Latin educators, business owners, and other leaders???
Totally agree. This was a strategic move by NFL to expand its customer base into other countries.
The political discourse that surrounds this feel unwarrented.
Was Ramos admitted legally?
If not, the law is crystal clear. Either self-deport or submit to border officer’s decision, just like when you fly to New York as a foreigner.
Trump shouldn’t be rounding up all these illegals (though any with a record or pending charges should be removed). There’s a lot more leverage in going after those who have harbored and aided: landlords, schools, medical institutions, employers. Legality & legitimacy shouldn’t be determined by moods & fads.
The Market Ticker:
The 1996 IIRIRA (Immigration reform legislation; Bill Clinton I remind you) modified prior standing law to clarify that an illegal alien who evaded regular process, that is, who entered the United States unlawfully rather than going through an entrypoint and being examined, was never admitted and, per that reform legislation under 8 USC § 1225 this meant they were not able to claim bond as the language says “shall be detained.”
Why? Because the 1996 law changed this in 8 USC 1225:
(a)Inspection
(1)Aliens treated as applicants for admission
An alien present in the United States who has not been admitted or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters) shall be deemed for purposes of this chapter an applicant for admission.
In other words no matter how you got here, whether through lawful process or not, you have applied for admission.
And as the Supreme Court has previously found 8 USC (b)(2)(A) says:
(2)Inspection of other aliens
(A)In general
Subject to subparagraphs (B) and (C), in the case of an alien who is an applicant for admission, if the examining immigration officer determines that an alien seeking admission is not clearly and beyond a doubt entitled to be admitted, the alien shall be detained for a proceeding under section 1229a of this title.
Curious no estimates regarding channel switchers to the Olympics. Next season viewership numbers will determine if this was a Bud Light marketing mistake.
In a historic first, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show on February 8, 2026, performing entirely in Spanish. As the first Latin artist to lead the show in his native tongue, his performance featured guest appearances by Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, showcasing Puerto Rican culture and sparking conversation about the NFL’s cultural reach.
There was a reason the performance was in Spanish. Have you read the English translation of his lyrics? I can understand why they wanted to highlight the Hispanic culture; they could have found a performer that was not X rated.
More tacos, empanadas, and hot Latin women? Yes, yes, and yes please!!!
Nasty Rabbit???
Like the majority of people I didn’t watch either. Bread and circuses as your cuntry circles the toilet bowl. As for that journos write up about the mid game “entertainment” it’s so over the top that he needs kneepads for the fellation.
Meanwhile you will be another 5 trillion in debt by the next Super Bowl.
I was disappointed that Bad Bunny wore too many clothes to have a wardrobe malfunction.
Other than that, I actually enjoyed watching his show.
That would explain the fascination of grown men pining to watch men in tights grabbing each other and piling up.
I think Toilet Paper USA is a bad branding idea. But the idea to have Charlie Kirk’s funeral at halftime was smart. But I think having “Kid Rock” play was a bad idea. He is not a kid, he’s a washed up junkie. I think “Kid Rock” would be a better name for Epstein Island.
I have nothing against Mr. Bunny, but I’m a country music fan and, based on some of the promos I had seen, I expected that Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, George Strait and other stars were going to perform. Not. I didn’t know any of the musicians on the stage, and when Kid Rock came out in cutoff jeans that was enough unprofessionalism for me. Very disappointing and we spent the rest of halftime watching hockey, since I don’t speak Spanish.
The actual game was a worthless as the entertainment.
I don’t speak Spanish, but was not going to ignore it just because they don’t do things just like I’d ask them to. I found it great storytelling. The Trump Administration is angry over the political messaging. What did we see beyond “Together We Are America” and “The only thing stronger than hate is love?” Oh right, never mind, you refused to watch it. Your loss.
Did not watch the game. Checked fb before bed. No score or high lights. 6-7 post about bad bunny.
Think it was about 8 before i heard the results. Also 4 or so halftime comments. How did we get here.
Well the nfl wants to expand their markets. They pay jz to plan the show. Im sure if he can stir a bit of controversy to drive media he will do it. Facebook and social media amplify it because they want eyes on their sites. Right wing political machine tapped into the event to rally their base with the whole my america thing.
9 games outside the USA next year, and 142MM watched the HT show, highest ever. Soon our population will begin its decline. We may see BB HT show 50 yrs from now as the most watched Super Bowl HT Show EVER.
Didn’t watch either half time show or the Super Bowl itself.
Watched BB & I still don’t get rap/ghetto music.
BB & his contemporaries are money in the bank for ABBA.
Since 2022, ABBA has been making $2M/week with ABBA Voyage in London.
Harmonies & beautiful music never go out of style.
Here’s an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHddJnNo_BQ&t=2s
I don’t get the rap thing either.
Regarding immigration, we are a nation of laws. You have to follow the rules. If there are laws impeding the expedition of those rules, they need to be changed. Both Democrat and Republicans need to work in the interests of our country and create a worker permit system, expel those here illegally receiving welfare benefits, penalize big employers and lastly get the domestic welfare bums to work.
if Kendrick Lamar had performed this year instead of last there would have been cross-burnings outside the stadium
old white people going “huh”, “what did he say?”
They would rather do that than try to understand it
It is a sad state of affairs for the country when even the half time show of the Superbowl is interpreted as divisive. I don’t listen to Bad Bunny but I could understand him better (I speak about third grade Spanish) than some rappers that I happen to hear.
The Hispanic culture where I live includes some of the hardest working people that I have met. They are working the fields, cleaning the yards, repairing or replacing roofs, building homes, and many other jobs that help keep our community going. The Hispanic family culture is particularly strong.
I think that they should have at least had subtitles on the display screen in English to the words. When I go to the opera and it is in Italian or Spanish, there are “supertitles” (above the stage) to the lyrics and words which make it easier for non-speakers to follow.
Maybe next year the half time show will require presidential approval.
PreCambian, I have the same experience of hard-working Mexicans as you.
Unfortunately, as Peter Schweitzer’s new book Invisible Coup spells out, Mexican schools teach Mexican children to resent Americans because of the Mexican War, and their leaders and even the 50 Mexican consulates subversively discourage Hispanic immigrants from assimilating and becoming Americans in their hearts.
And yet the Mexican schools and leaders fail miserably. Every Hispanic person I know living here is doing their best to learn the language, work hard and contribute to the country.
So we’re demonizing Mexican schools for teaching their own history to their kids? The Mexican war was an invasion of Mexico by the US after the US annexed Texas from that country, right?
No Phil. Not demonizing them. It was a war of conquest, just like Lincoln’s War. Would it be healthy for Southern school children to be taught the grotesque atrocities committed by Sherman and Sheridan’s Yankees [with Lincoln’s imprimatur], the rape and pillage and enduring impoverishment of the South? I never demonize telling the truth, but we need to realize there is a Reconquista attitude among the mass of Mexican leaders. They have no problem naming their organization “The Race”, La Raza. It is a problem for people who value the culture that made the US a very successful country.
Kids should be taught the truth about history, with the caveat that lessons should be age appropriate. So no, no rape stories for 10 year olds, but yes, the true nature of history should be taught.
Also, Peter Schweizer is a business partner with Steve Bannon, most recently featured in “The Epstein Files”. That should tell you all you need to know about how much to trust his anecdotes about public education in Mexico. Shame on you for believing such an obviously bent source. He’s a political hack.
Phil, you do a severe disservice to Peter Schweizer. You should read him. He is a careful researcher.
That hasn’t been my experience either in assimilating in the United States or school teaching in Mexico. I lived in Mexico for two years while sailing a sailboat. Never had any resentment expressed towards me. I will say that if I would have done any work in Mexico without a permit while I was sailing then I could have had my sailboat confiscated.
I also know that after the Mexican American War the United States didn’t uphold its part of the treaty to recognize the land holdings of the Spanish/Mexican citizens in California. A lot of the Spanish land grants were confiscated by dubious means such as failing to recognize the land surveys or outright threatening of the landowners.
I hear you. My interactions with Mexicans have been good too. But look at the violent protests in LA, organized to a large extent by Mexican leaders (some in the pay of the Mexican govt), waving Mexican flags and saying California is stolen land they mean to reclaim.
(If you want to live in history that ancient, Mexicans have a legitimate beef, in that the US initiated the Mexican War. I’m not saying what is right or wrong, but pointing out an attitude that is hostile to white Americans.)

When the right calls this message divisive and political, we are forked:
“Together we are America”
“The only thing stronger than hate is love”
Perhaps I missed the political messages from the BB HT show that were legit negative and divisive? If so I’m eager to learn if someone is kind enough to share their knowledge of such examples.
First Super-Bowl halftime I have ver seen.
The commercial did not impress me, a little like “I’d like to buy the world a Coke”.
Sentimental fakery.
If this is supposed to augur well for the future of America, beats me.
Whole discussion of hard-working Mexicans or whatever seems misplaced.
Just because you like Penguins or Japanese or Indians or whatever, or think they’re good people, or find their culture interesting and noteworthy, does that mean you need to import them? Do you bring everybody into your family if they seem okay as human being? Does not bringing them in mean you don’t love them as you ought to?
Lee Brice was good. Rich melodious voice and you could understand the words.

Gabby Barrett was pretty good too.

Does one need to understand the words to enjoy it?
Having taken in numerous Italian and German operas without speaking either language, and finding them far more appealing than any Broadway schlock, I’m prepared to cackle at any affirmative response.
Well no, rando. O babbino caro is much more moving for NOT knowing what she is singing. But opera is kind of the exception.
In general the words, the poetry and message, are integral to enjoying songs that have words.
BTW, the chello-violin duet towards the end was good.
Charlie’s half time show was amazing. Great job TPUSA!
What did Charlie Kirk do to deserve having Bawitiba played at his funeral? This is all so weird.
TPUSA trying to grab MAGA people who realized MAGA was a lie.
Yet another cult
A better use of time reading Sorkin’s “1929”. Without the benefit of any prior knowledge of that event, but of the last 26 years, one wonders at every turn of the page, “when is the government bailout of Wall Street coming?”
The events of 1929 with absolutely no understanding of forces behind them.
6 million people turned in to the Degenerate Halftime Special? Can’t believe there are that many pedos in America. KId Rock just needed Ted Nugget up there to sing about chasing underaged girl and it would have been a perfect show for Trump’s supporters.
They tried to get Caroline Kennedy there, but she said no thanks
I never heard of Bad Bunny. I see from Wikipedia that he supported a candidate for governor of Puerto Rico who was from the Puerto Rico Independence Party which supports independence for Puerto Rico. I hope Bad Bunny puts more effort into Puerto Rican independence and that the cause is successful. It would be worth it (to the US) even if we paid off Puerto Rico’s debts. Although an independent Puerto Rico might emerge into a threatening global powerhouse near our shores, we will just have to take that chance.
Do Republican idiots still want to make PR a state?
by 2029 a few states will EFFECTIVELY SECEDE. we shall see the outcome, and watch the opposing parties who control the losing states take the move. the nullifications already are huge. the tariffs and abortion issue is heated. i already made this bet back in 2018. one pal said he knows he lost already. this is a gimme bet. the big boys. TX or CA or NY or FL………aligned with their same colors red or blue smaller states…………………..let’s make secession great again.
Can’t wait to have war between the states when we break up. American vs. American.
This is a stupid idea. Did you think this through or being emotional like a woman?
How did independence work out for Cuba, Central America, South America, or anywhere else?
The US cannot stand having anything operate independently.
They just have to get involved and force them to kow tow.
Anyone remember those words from the Pledge of Allegiance? It means literally what it is titled. “Indivisible” = no secession. But hey, Constitution, Bill of Rights, contracts, those things are so old fashioned, aren’t they?
Sounds like you have never taken the time to visit Puerto Rico. Vieques is fantastic, I’d show you some amazing snorkeling spots if you were willing to explore parts of America that aren’t familiar to you, but it sounds like that’s nothing of interest to you. I consider it your loss, and thank you for not clogging up my vacation spots with more narrow-minded American tourists.
There are plenty of crime infested hell-holes in the US. So, no thanks. But don’t let me stop you from enjoying the island paradise.

In an Elvis costume? Absolutely.
Maybe if without a parachute.
I do not think bad mouthing TPUSA for the QR code soliciting donations is considering they are a donation dependent nonprofit that does not having the fiscal might of the NL to fund a competing performance. I watched some of it and thought it was poorly done.
As for the Bad Bunny show, I thought it was better than many SB half time shows but do criticize it for not at least including English speaking Americans with at least some of our national language or subtitles included.
The TPUSA performance was like watching the response to a State of the Union address and it got about the same national attention.
Did Kid Rock recount his love of underage tail? How its mandatory not statutory?
No, this one was all about the hookers, junkies, and criminals he admires.
And it was lip synced. Badly.
We remember that part of him without needing all the reminders
What’s this have to do with economics? From your recent posts are you now a political analyst.?
I want to respond to this … and Ill try to use small words (as I can tell big words would be confusing) so you can understand. Currently, federal politics are guided by people doing things that serve only them, and that greatly affects money – and politics has grabbed economics and made it so that following economics can only be done through politics. This will change only when the people in charge lose power.
Sadly that used a lot of big words and I fear I have lost you.
Nate, If the people in charge lose power, won’t new people then come in and take power? How do we know the new people in power will be any better? If you respond, I know you are a genius, so please also really really small words for me too. I know you must be busy running a successful business so I appreciate your time.
Racer, sadly Mish has come down with a bad case of TDS. He used to focus on the core issues: tech, geopolitics, money and economics but now the focus is more on bread and circuses issues, like Bad Bunny.
Very eloquently stated. Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, and Nate.
“Political analyst”…that’s generous, Racer.
Just showing his true colors. And if one reads his posts on economics over the years, this is hardly a surprise.
Because the 2 are inevitably related.
Why are you here, to wallow in the miserable stench of things you don’t like? Can you not be better to yourself?
The half-time show was just another Democrat propaganda ploy to excuse the treason of importing 20 million illegal aliens to build a voter base to disenfranchise the American Citizen’s Vote in future elections. Their Great Society of 1964 welfare program gave them congress for 30 years. The illegal immigrant vote may give them congress forever to carry on their fraud and corruption they enjoy so much in MN, and Calf, .
And what was Kid Rock’s message?
Nobody? Did you not pay attention to this important performance?
His message: “You still have a choice.”
It has been proven time and time again – illegals do not vote.
FBI RAIDED Fulton Co voter repository with a court order to prove just the opposite of the propaganda you spoke
Then why have Republicans starting with Gerald Ford want to make PR a state?
Cope harder loser 😀
More White Supremacist naming conventions… bye bye Billy
nonsense. you make it sound like the Dem party controls the NFL which is totally bonkers.
the NFL cares only about $$. the US market is saturated, there’s no where to get new growth here.
the Spanish speaking world is wide open with very low American football fan base, and expanding it even a percentage can be huge.
that’s all this is
YOU think the Democrat players( 90%black) don’t tell the NFL what To do?
except for a tiny faction, NFL players do not give a crap about politics. I’d be shocked if more than 10% ever voted.
they’re rich, they’re young, they’re famous, and spend their time getting laid, buying cars and properties, and having a good time. the notion they think about politics is laughable.
You don’t remember the NFL payers kneeling during the Pledge of Allegiance— And all the controversy that cause
Despite Trump’s objections, the Super Bowl went forward with Bad Bunny because the group and it’s primary audience are the future of America. The NFL wants to expand beyond a demographic death spiral nation where it’s future is limited. Where to turn to? Oh yeah, there are 8 billion people on the planet and that’s a lot of NFL tickets. The new immediate fan base are the 750 million Latinos living south of the border, hence a Latino artist to cater to that group. It’s all basic business math.
And in case no one noticed, since no one is having kids in the US anymore, where will new football players come from? Africa? Keep an eye out for H1B football visas over the next decade or watch the NFL collapse. No more gladiator sports for you MAGA.
Trump’s Gestapo ran with it’s tail between it’s legs out of Minnesota in a crushing defeat by a supposed “handful of paid” agitators. It’s over for this clown and his MAGA morons. We’re not going back to the 1950’s let alone the 1850’s so MAGA needs to adjust or go extinct faster.
Midterms coming right up should seal the deal for the end of MAGA.
And then there’s this too.

Brings up a question in my mind. Are there statistics on American viewers only?
This was from 3 years ago and it’s about half the audience.
https://www.nfl.com/news/global-audience-of-62-5-million-watched-super-bowl-lviii-an-increase-of-10-percent-over-2023
Mexico: Total audience reach of 24.1 million, with an average of 8.7 million viewers, up +5% year-on-year and the highest since records began. The audience peaked with over 10 million viewers during the Apple Music Halftime Show.
Canada: Total audience reach of 18.8 million, with an average of 10.1 million viewers, up +16% year-on-year and the highest since tracking began — one of the top 5 most-watched English-language broadcasts on record in Canada. The audience peaked with over 12 million viewers during the Apple Music Halftime Show.
Germany: Total audience reach of 3.8 million, averaging 1.9 million viewers, up +13% year-on-year.
United Kingdom: Total audience reach of 3.7 million, averaging 1.2 million viewers, up +18% year-on-year.
Australia: Total audience reach of nearly 3 million, averaging over 1.2 million viewers — the highest since records began and up +26% year-on-year.
China: Most-watched Super Bowl in the last 7 years, featuring the first-ever Chinese New Year collaboration on Year of the Dragon during Super Bowl week.
I wrote a comment a while ago about how S&P 500 companies get 50% of their revenue from outside the US. This stat confirms that view and why businesses do what they do – it’s about the money.
And also why diversity, equity and inclusion are so important to corporate America. They need staff that understands the many different world markets, and how to cater to them. And those markets need to see themselves and their values in American products. If we don’t do it, someone else will. Meaning lower profits, sales, and work for Americans.
Really couldn’t care less where new NFL players come from. I resent a system (and its fans) that recruits ghetto thugs, gives them a free ride through college to major in basketweaving, requiring minders to keep them out of jail, for them to turn pro before even receiving their useless degree while serious students go into student debt hell (though many of those people also pursued useless degrees). And do it all in taxpayer-financed stadiums.Ironically, something like 70% of NFL players end up broke.
The criminal proclivities of the players are so prevalent that there is a website that tracks their arrests. Not out of concern for the crimes, but to guide bettors in placing their bets. It features a disclaimer that NFL arrest rates are lower than the population as a whole. However, if you made the comparison by income it would be clear that the NFL players are in a class by themselves. And these only include the players that make it through the screening of removing the worst that get arrested before entering the NFL.
Even worse are the fans, especially the obese man-boy jockstrap-sniffers who wear jerseys with their favorite player’s name on it. I think I outgrew that when I was about 12. But what can you expect from fans of a game where the ball is in play maybe 12 minutes over a 3 hour period and commercials are a chief draw during its championship game?
Meanwhile, the mother of all distractions, attack on Iran is likely to happen soon–140+ C7 flights deploying anti-missile defenses to 20 US bases in the region
Key Trump negotiators, Kushner and Witkoff in the area
Patriot missiles will be overmatched. If he does it, it will be a disaster.
Netanyahu on his way to visit Trump this week
We were “negotiating” with Iran the last time we attacked. If America had any shame, THAT incident would have stop it from kvetching about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
I gave up watching sportsball on idiot box, when i was about 17. though i did get invited to a few world series and nfc championships live. my neighbor used to take me to ASU sundevils home games, a short trolley ride away. college games in warm weather are a hoot. seats next to student section in the end zone. now that is fun. but on idiot box, it’s nap time if i try and watch sportsball. who the fuck has a television in 2026? seems so stoooooopid. like a rotary phone.
IKR? Watching other men exercise? Not my deal.
With any sport, its important to have played it a lot yourself. Otherwise its difficult to appreciate the skill of the professional players. I played football all through high-school, ran track, picked up tennis and golf later. I appreciate watching all of those things on the boob tube. But I have zero interest in baseball, basketball and soccer because I never played them.
Exactly, professional sport is nothing but prodding childish memories in infantilized grown men.
TP really dropped the ball by not choosing Nickelback for the main performance.
The Kid Rock alternative show had a massive meltdown X. lol!
boomers are the most fragile members of human primate species in 2026. i am a boomer, and my peers, family and friends are as fragile as a porcelain doll.
Same here. I want to shake them out of their coma when I hear their nonsense but I would be charged with inducing Shaken Baby Syndrome.
Perhaps they can point to the part on the porcelain doll where the mean liberals gave them an owwie
elvis impersonator would have gotten plenty of views………..
too funny!!!
Nickelback. lol.
Yeah, haha it was a joke, glad you got it.
Poor Nickelback. They thought they were a band, but they’re a punchline.
and loving it!!!
Both Spanish and English are European languages. It would have been more inclusive if he had sang/spoken more English. Also trump will get points for pointing out the inappropriateness of clothing ( and 2 guys grinding?!)
I flipped to the Olympics during the halftime. I’d rather watch Bugs Bunny than Bad Bunny. “Go Elmer Fudd!”
Bad Bunny supports Puerto Rican independence. Presumably, Bad Bunny will go along with PR.
if the s/b is broadcast globally, it’s gunna be hard to sell U.S Treasuries to it any longer
Nobody else cares about rugby for sissies.
We could have (theoretically) voted out the American Empire and replaced it with leaders who could have implemented a thoughtful plan to dismantle it with minimum of pain. But that opportunity passed decades ago. We’re going to do it tge hard way.
Seems that most people watching the superbowl were at least open to seeing something new in the bad bunny halftime show
Contrast that with the spoutings of the ignorant, racist, bigot that is showing his true colors as he ages
I didn’t particularly like bad bunny’s show, but at least it wasn’t a bunch of racist bile
I file expected Trump to have a meltdown over his feelings being hurt, somehow. He’s very thin skinned.
To cry about not understanding any that’s said just shows you how deliberately ignorant he pays himself. He never knows anything about, never heard of the guy, etc.
Meanwhile it should be pointed out that Bad Bunny did not throw a QR code for donations but Toilet Paper USA did.
Who’s grifting whom?
And yes, trump is a pedophile, rapist, felon, liar, thief. But he’ll never be a chief.
I’ve honestly never heard about Bad Bunny until the ‘NFL controversy’. Sounds like a silly name too on first hearing it. I normally don’t care about the artists and those whose name I know I normally dislike.
But from the from the few short videos I’ve seen I’m interested in seeing more from the half time show and hear more of his music.
The entire leporidae genre is on the rise. Check out Horrible Hare.
The only thing I like about Bad Bunny is that he supports independence fir Puerto Rico. We’re holding them back from achieving their ultimate capabilities.
Really bad analysis comparing viewers who tuned into watch the Super Bowl to viewers who actively exited viewing to watch the alternative halftime show.
Then I invite you to do better.
This one is pretty consistent with reality.
Even people who never watch the Stupor Bowl (like me) might tune in for a little bit out of curiosity if they’re not doing anything else. It is the Stupor Bowl, after all. I would never watch anything with Kid Rock – such a talentless goober. And Turning Point USA? A proven Ziocon project. I asked my kids if they like Bad Bunny. They said they love him. Of course they speak Spanish and I don’t. They generally have good taste in music, so I’ll trust them even though the Bunny reminded me of Ricardo Montalban on Fantasy Island. De plane! De plane!
