War cancelled again, peace talks on, supposedly.
Peace Deal Could Be Signed ‘in Coming Days’ Whenever Trump Capitulates
The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Cancels Iran Strikes, Says Peace Deal Could Be Signed in ‘Coming Days’
President Trump on Thursday insisted the U.S. was nearing a deal on peace talks with Iran, pulling back from his threats just hours earlier to launch more military strikes and seize Iran’s oil infrastructure.
Trump said Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had signed off on the plan, which he said would be completed in coming days, paving the way for additional talks on Iran’s nuclear program.
“Iran hasn’t reached a final conclusion about the agreement,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said, according to state media. “We will announce it when we reach a conclusion.”
Early Thursday, Trump threatened to launch another wave of military strikes to try to force Iran to agree to his terms on a nuclear deal. He said the U.S. military would seize Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure “and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets.” Hours later, however, he abruptly reversed course, declaring a deal was at hand and that Iran would be spared.
Also on Thursday, a delegation from Qatar, which is a mediator in the talks to wind down the war, had returned from a trip to Tehran with new language to be incorporated in the draft under discussion between Iran and the U.S., people familiar with the matter said.
U.S. officials said Trump received word that Tehran had come closer to meeting his nuclear demands. Trump told his aides it was enough to call off the attack—at least for now—giving time to complete a memorandum of understanding and set up a signing ceremony in Europe as soon as this weekend, the officials said.

Trump made his most believable statement ever today.

I cannot believe that someone as allegedly intelligent as Mish continues to react to the same stimuli in the same way, every time. Seems like he can’t help himself. Trump rings the bell, and Mish uncontrollably salivates in response.
Pavlov’s dogs have nothing on Shedlock.
Trump announced a deal 39 times so far (LOL) and I’m guessing Mish had somewhere around 39 responses.
We’re gonna need a mop for all the saliva in here.
an economic blog analyzing events and people that have significant economic impacts? an economic blog discussing those same people having an unusually cavalier approach to the economic soundness of the country?
is that frustrating to you?
You don’t think the people who have been inflating the currency since year 1914 have had a “cavalier” approach to the “economic soundness” of their countries?
More to the point – markets react. Why? I don’t know, but the markets as a whole keep falling for the kayfabe, over and over again.
And yet here you are commenting on the post. Good doggie!
the whole thing is about the epstien files not getting attention the longer the drama continues the more successful the slight of hand.
But, Trump may not escape NippleGate
The deal posted by the media is fake news according to Trump. You can’t make this shit up.

Watch that little bitchboy sign it, call it the greatest victory ever, and then watch Israel blow it up in his stupid face.
This morning’s tweet–such a surprise–and poor JDVance on his way to Switzerland for the signing of the MOU
The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing. What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth. Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. AMAZING! Also, their totally rebuffed Drone attack last night against Indian Ships leaving the Hormuz Strait is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They better get their act together, and FAST! President DONALD J. TRUMP
As usual, every accusation is an admission, “With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith.“
This is the deal that Iran says is on the table…(according to Yaroslav Trofimov of the WSJ)
Iran’s Mehr news agency publishes the purported text of the draft agreement with Trump. It will keep the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian control, will promise Iran $300 billion in reconstruction money in addition to an immediate cash transfer of $24 billion, a suspension of sanctions and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the Middle East. Also, a commitment not to bother Iran again about its missiles and proxies, and restraining Israel in Lebanon.
The U.S. gets in exchange a pinky promise to respect the NPT.
Let’s see what happens in coming days.
what a mess
You do know that in a “serious” country, there would be an in-depth investigation on WTF is going on with an undeclared war, hundreds of billions of dollars committed, amateur negotiators, on-and-off agreements, and market manipulation, bribery and profit taking at the highest level.
Not to mention high level discussions by top admin people in SCIF settings on how to keep the President’s raping past out of the news.
But hey, 250 years is already a long time.
We are not serious people. We are, however, nuclear armed.
We also are treacherous, vicious and amoral.
Good article in the Oil and Gas Journal covering the critical levels that the SPR has fallen to is behind a paywall or membership. Its a good but basic read and I suggest adding it to your information stream:
The US Strategic Petroleum Reserve has fallen to about 349.2 million bbl.The DOE is releasing crude at a rate of 9 million bbl/week, with the current drawdown expected to continue through July.Industry leaders warn that the low reserve levels could exacerbate market shocks during future supply disruptions, especially if geopolitical tensions escalate.
There is further babble about establishing another SPR facility in California to supply the US military bases (not the citizens).
The real concern is if the stored oil can be accessed without damaging the infrastructure of the SPR itself ~ if we go below 143 million barrels.
What is clear is that we will be drawn down below the record low of 346 bbl during Covid next week. SPR Capacity is 714 million barrels and 20% of that is 142.8.
Different news feeds:
CNN…
“We’re raising alarm bells right now. We’re at about 350 million bbl left in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve,” American Petroleum Institute President Mike Somers told CNN June 3. “You have to have about 20% of that left for it to be operational, for our system to operate, so we’re getting to levels where we’re starting to be concerned.”
Fox…
On the other hand, US Energy Secretary/Propagandist Chris Wright told Fox Business June 5 that he is “not concerned at all” about dwindling SPR stocks. He said that because it is an exchange program, the return oil will start flowing once the disruption is over, and that the reserve will grow by 40-million bbl because companies taking oil now have agreed to replace the oil at greater volumes than taken out. “This will happen at no cost to the American people,” he said; conveniently ignoring the actual and real physical supply problem.
Since this is Trump “Peace announcement #39”. The chances of actual peace are fantastically low. The chances of a severe supply disruption are far higher than the chances of peace in the Middle East.
Perhaps Trumps election strategy is to make gas so expensive that poor people can not afford to vote?
Get out the popcorn, Trumps shit show at the bankruptcy casino continues!
My Note: China has over 1,000 million barrels in their SPR. US total capacity is under 714 million barrels with 349.6 left, a drawdown rate of 9 million barrels per week and only 200 million accessible without damage. Trump is gambling our entire economy and national security on both peace the re-establishment of global oil supplies within 22 weeks.
One point to emphasize is the drawdown rate of 9 million barrels per week. For structural reasons, this drawdown rate will fall in late July. (Reasons due to physics, not politics.) That’s the point when greater effects would hit the US gasoline supply and price (unless export controls are imposed). Until then, I am not paying much attention to anything Trump tweets because it is just going to be more of the usual on/off nonsense.
The Chris Wright statement is factually accurate, but meaningless. It is like someone whose house is being foreclosed saying “Don’t worry about it, in a few years I will get a large inheritance and can buy it back.”
Agreed, I’m surprised they can get 9 million out per week as it stands…
Either way, the market is giving us another good opportunity play in the Taco sauce.
No one really knows at what point the US SPR caverns will lose structural integrity. Estimates range from 300 mb and below. Since filling the SPR we have never drawn it below 340 mb. Trump plans to draw it down to 240 mb, so we will have a chance to find out.
3-star Mishelin award granted.
That photo of Trump on that play phone had me rolling over laughing. It’s so funny because it reflects reality so well, a demented degenerate man talking to himself just like that cohort does all the time.
Here’s an accompanying musical tribute…

It is obvious that Trump planned on a full surrender to Iran, he just needed a face-saving way to do it. So he concocted one last bombing campaign to make it look like he forced Iran to the table, and then Iranian demands became his ideas and his “great deal”. Fox News is going to struggle with this because it is functionally an Israeli propaganda machine, but even they know Trump can’t keep this up. And they must keep control of the Republican Party by propagandizing the Party’s dumbest members (MAGA). MAGA must follow Trump or the whole GOP falls apart. What will be interesting to watch is whether or not Iran can force Israel to back down on its murderous campaign in Lebanon.
If they are counting on MAGA as the core of their party ~ they better expand their base beyond FOX and X, because those silver haired octogenarian’s are dropping like flies!
That is why the people who finance the republican party are investing in youth programs. Like turning point. Look at where the money comes from.
And sending their kids to private indoctrination schools…
I’m sure that creepy lady they keep parading around at events will draw millions and millions of youths to their cause
Deposed rulers throughout history fell from power due to clinical mental illness, extreme political tyranny, or a combination of both.
THIS BLOG WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO POST IT.
Mish, could you do it. It would be an interesting case study.
IS there a chance that a Mad (insane) President CAN be IMPEACHED? WHO needs to call him out as “Insane” and WOULD HE OR THEY OR THEM?
I am not asking a question that has not crossed many other minds. His inner circle are doing the same thing with him as the Brain-Dead Biden team did. This is getting rather scary.
Nothing will be done until the results of trump’s madness are catastrophic. Then of course it will be to late for the lower and middle classes of the US and the world to recover, once dead is always dead.
86/47 NOW!
My dude, Trump could expose himself to little girls on the White House lawn, live on Fox News, and every single member of Team R would refuse to vote to remove him from office.
Since a 2/3 vote is needed in the Senate, Trump is safe.
The way news feeds are structured these daze, the MAGA faithful could be fed an entire fantasy peace deal and “Studio Faux News” Iranian leadership. They would just repeat the latest story line…
I was at an invitation-only high end cars n coffee last Saturday with about 50 wealthy guys and they had Fox News on the TV in the lounge of one of the car community garages (where the coffee and doughnuts were).
Three of them were glued to it and boasting to each other about how Trump had gotten gas prices down from $5.99 to $4.59. I interrupted them with a hearty laugh and pointed out that gas was $2.65 the day of the election. They looked at me in disbelief and pointed out that the stock market was over 50,000.
So? was my reply and I pointed out that the SPR was at 30% of capacity, along with the percentage of “old people” that watched Fox News propaganda and still supported Trump.
Ahhhh, the look on their faces when a successful younger guy cracked open their information silo and directly challenged their fantasy world.
Some daze are more satisfying than others! 😉
Tomorrow we meet again and I’ll point out that this is the 39th false Trump “peace deal” with zero actual progress.
After that, I’ll point out that there have been four false announcements of billion dollar grain deals with China and no actual purchases. Yet they stand there and lap Fox’s propaganda up like it was real!
Laughing at their old fart folly is going to be fun!
~
But in all seriousness, it is a good thing Iran is only an oil producer and has no real military. If they could, they would have fought back with more than bombing a few neighbors & pinching a few commodity supply lines.
Sigh…
I try to listen to various sources for my news while at work. I find it hard to stomach conservative talk radio and such. Besides a failing track record of the truth. It is hard to explain but there is a undertone of our side verse the dems.
Npr has 1a and for the conservative side i have a local station out of sac that is right of center. Its call in listeners are mostly farther rt.
I try to not get caught up in first page news. By the time it makes it to the 7 page is usually when you find out the truth. After a while you get a feel of who is blowing smoke.
NPR’s propaganda is more subtle. Occasionally they will let on that Palestinians, Lebanese and Iranians might actually be humans with a right to live. When it comes to mainstream media, the most important facts gleaned are usually admissions against interest in the 18th paragraph, like when the NYT admitted that there were at least 12 CIA bases in eastern Ukraine prior to 2022.
I can deal with a bit of leaning left or right. Just seems npr is more accurate when its all said and done.
I am sure that they looked at you like you stood up to interrupt a High Papal Mass to demand that the person who just farted, please identify him or herself.
I think the word for their expression is Dumbfounded.
Some people can’t think in any way other than Team Red vs Team Blue.
JewTube started trying to force feed me videos of Victor Davis Hanson on the channels of various rabbis. Talk about yer shit sandwich. Hanson is beyond his normal boring tomes about the Peloponnesian War. He’s been fully stuffed with bullshit about how Russia has had a million dead in the Ukraine, Iran is down to 10% of its pre-war missiles, China is about to implode and how the Iranian people are on the cusp of throwing off the “regime”. I don’t know what planet that guy lives on, but it’s not Planet Reality. Apparently there are still people who believe that shit. Thanks for doing your part to interject sanity. It’s not easy.
TACO is Schizophrenic and is getting worse.
Schizophrenia is a chronic, severe brain disorder where individuals interpret reality abnormally. It often involves a combination of hallucinations, delusions, and disordered thinking that disrupt daily functioning.

This is the 39th time that Trump has announced an MOU. Iran has not yet signed off on it.
Here are details of “the 14-point draft” of the MOU, as per “a source close to the Iranian negotiating team:”
Whether this is close to the truth or not, we may never know. But this would be a complete surrender by Trump.
▪️Permanent and immediate cessation of war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
▪️America’s commitment to non-interference in Iran’s internal affairs and respect for the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
▪️Complete lifting of the naval blockade within 30 days
▪️America’s commitment to withdrawing its forces from around Iran
▪️Reopening the Strait of Hormuz within 30 days with Iranian arrangements
▪️Suspension of sanctions on the sale of oil, petrochemical products and derivatives and full access for Iran to its financial resources.
▪️The need for the United States and its allies to present reconstruction plans for Iran worth at least $300 billion.
▪️60 days of negotiations to reach a final agreement based on nuclear issues and the complete lifting of primary, secondary, US sanctions and resolutions of the UN Security Council and the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency
▪️Reiterating Iran’s commitment in the NPT not to produce nuclear weapons
▪️During the negotiations, the United States has committed not to increase its forces in the region and will not impose new sanctions.
▪️Release $24 billion in blocked Iranian funds during the 60-day period of final negotiations. Half of this amount must be made available to Iran before the negotiations begin.
▪️Establishing a monitoring mechanism to implement the agreement.
▪️The final agreement will be approved by a UN Security Council resolution.
▪️The final negotiations will not begin before the release of half of Iran’s frozen funds, the suspension of Iran’s oil sanctions, and the lifting of the naval blockade. The final agreement will be made solely on the fate of enriched materials and enrichment, the lifting of sanctions, and the Iranian economic reconstruction program. Discussions about Iran’s missile program and support for resistance groups have been definitively removed from the agenda.
“As the Foreign Ministry spokesperson announced, this text still needs to be reviewed and finalized by the relevant institutions in Iran.”
If this is the text Iran won the war by miles
By 6333 miles, to be precise.
Trump unconditionally surrendered. Read an article this morning that Cushing is 1.2 million barrels from going tits up. May be the reason for the surrender. But hey, we got to kill a lot of Iranian school girls! USA! USA!
Let’s hope this deal holds, I heard that Iran is only TWO WEEKS AWAY from having a nuclear bomb! /s
A pity that they do not have The Bomb.
Thugs like the US and Israel respond only to force. There is no negotiating with them, they are good and compliant as long as you have a gun held to their head, but you can never put the gun down.
Lifting of sanctions requires an act of congress. Suspension of sanctions could probably be done by executive order. I highly doubt that Trump could even release $12b of Iranian assets (50%) and suspend oil sanctions without that midget fairy from South Carolina and his chicken hawk buddies convincing Trump to go back on any “deal” he’s supposedly entered into. Trump’s accelerating dementia alone precludes him following through on such an intricate plan. His dementia is a different issue than his being a scumbag. It’s also different than Biden’s. Trump can believe “A” one minute and “not A” the next. No agreement can be made while he is in office because Iran is long past accepting mere words. They want ongoing actions according to an agreed-upon plan and Trump is mentally incapable of consistency.
Thank God someone in the comment section can just point out facts. I have a toad on this one that it holds somehow. But you can see how confident I am.. not…$1, which will be devalued severly before I collect…or pay.
Promise #45 and #47 will be extra special and bigly
The need for market calm for the SpaceX IPO is an important factor in the flip flops
– War cancelled again, peace talks on, supposedly. > Trump is confused again about what Peace Vs. War actually means.
– President Trump on Thursday insisted the U.S. was nearing a deal on peace talks with Iran, > For the 1,467’th Time!!!
– pulling back from his threats just hours earlier. > You don’t say? I just do what Iran does! I don’t listen to what he says because he will change his mind again, before I have digested what he just said he was going to do…
– Trump said Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had signed off on the plan. > Which would be a neat trick, if he existed. Is this the same fictional character that signed off last time, and the time before that. Sounds like a damn “Auto Pen” is being used by Iran. Did Biden give them His pen?
– which he said would be completed in coming days, > His made up date for Peace Will once again, being a made up Peace plan, once again become war and then it will pave the way for additional talks on Iran’s nuclear program. And then unicorns will fly out of his AS& and fly around in glee, er wait a minute… Trumps dreaming once again I see!!
– “Iran hasn’t reached a final conclusion about the agreement,” > The fake, phony, fraud of a Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei, who has NEVER BEEN SEEN HAS HE? said, according to state media. According to nobody that saw him either! But said We will announce it when we reach a conclusion.” I think the “ides of March” was the last date I heard perhaps…
– Early Thursday, Trump threatened to launch another wave of military strikes to try to force Iran to agree to his terms. > He lied again? Why does he lie all the time? Doesn’t he realize nobody is listening to him, but himself. They are simply ignoring his idle threats, broken promises, and made up dates of attacking and whatever else he makes up along the way…
– He said the U.S. military would seize Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure “and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets.” > He says a lot of crap, but doesn’t back it up with actin, but more blabbing and lies is his preferred method of communication, and yet the idiot still wonders why we have no peace. SAY WHAT YOU ACTUALLY MEAN FOR ONCE PLEASE!!!
– Hours later, however, he abruptly reversed course. > You dont say? I never, ever would have guessed… NOT!
– U.S. officials said Trump received word that Tehran had come closer to meeting his nuclear demands. > So Iran Needs more drones and missiles, so as usual when it’s time to reload, they tell Trump, whatever he wishes to hear at the time, then they go off laughing that the idiot fell for it again. So they lock and load, and start bombing again. Then blame Trump for not being truthful about a peace plan once again. It’s ridiculous…
– Trump told his aides… blah, blah, blah… does he even listen to himself?
“He says a lot of crap, but doesn’t back it up with actin, but more blabbing and lies is his preferred method of communication,”
It worked to get him elected as President, why wouldn’t it work on Iranians? Oops! Maybe they’re not morons!
Double check and see what the real reason why the backdown occurred.
Iran threatened Musk and Starlink in the ME.
No closer to a deal and I wouldn’t believe a word out of this administration.

I don’t think anybody in the history of war or peace has ever brokered as many peace deals as this guy. Clearly he’s a candidate for the Nobel Peace prize.
Come Tuesday, his peace prize will be rescinded because he is the TACO Prez (and a sadistic pedophile)
Yet another false claim by Trump.
Add this to the false claims that “we won” on day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 etc.
Or: Irans oil infrastructure was going be full and explode in three, two, one. Interesting that without a military they can shoot down Apache helicopters
Tons of nonsense and lies. It reminds me of a WWF style script written by those war mongers at Fox News. They never met a war they did not like. Reality is suspended as Trump flashes across their screens to the MAGA simpletons.
Suspended disbelief for a 30% and falling number of cult members.
Exactly, this ^^^

Trump, Not Netanyahu, Has the Cards. He Should Play ThemUpcoming Israeli elections give the U.S. president leverage he can use.

The Israeli opposition are nearly as loathsome as Netanyahu, just they aren’t as performative about it.
bebe has the files he has the cards trump will do anything- destroy anything to keep his molesting of children and other perversions private thousands of mentions in the files that were not already shredded
Iran is in no hurry. I think they will wait until after the midterm elections when Trump will be in a much weaker position.
If you still support Trump– please stop voting. You are proof that what we call Democracy does not work. Of course I could say the same for most who vote for Democrats. “Democracy” has failed in America. The founding fathers recognized that a morally corrupted, ignorant population could not sustain a free society. Social engineering on a massive scale has transformed America for the worse. Control of all of our major Institutions, both public and private, by evil and powerful forces- has given us the illusion of freedom and democracy, but it really no longer exists. That is America today. Our diminished prosperity is soon to be diminished a lot more.
‘Capitalism…is no longer the progressive force described by Marx’; the free market era ‘has been followed by a new one in which production is concentrated in vast syndicates and trusts which aim at monopoly control’. Giant multinational technology companies ‘freeze out other competition to forestall independent technological innovation’. Financial control ‘has passed from the industrialists themselves to a handful of banking conglomerates – the creation of a banking oligarch.
Lenin
Perhaps we should start talking about what we should have instead. I can’t make any direct suggestion, but I do think that we need to recognize something I have been banging on about for a long time: government is always a deal between soldiers (who live by the use and threat of force) and priests (who live by the use of some religion – some falsehood that enough of the public believe).
The priests have dominated this arrangement for quite a while. Before that, there was a bit of an interregnum, because Christianity collapsed following the publication of ‘The Origin of Species,’ and it took time for Education to build up its strength and take its place. From what I can make out, that was a time of rapid advance in Western civilization.
Note that, if the picture we have of earlier times is anything like accurate, the soldiers in the form of royal houses (descended from military leaders) dominated the governments of Europe for centuries while Christianity was the dominant religion. The priests were there, and they mattered, because they could read, write, and probably do sums. But the soldiers were in charge.
In more recent times, the priests in the form of people trained in Arts-type subjects have been trading on the achievements of physical scientists and engineers, pretending that they too are wise and knowledgeable.
I suggest that the simplest way out would be for military men to take over again. Democracy is moribund: it needs to take a back step. The concepts of individual rights and equality before the law need not disappear as well: it is only the artful teaching of the priests that makes us think that these things depend on democracy. In fact, and according to Machiavelli, a “people” (democracy) can often be more unjust than a “prince” (royal government).
You Americans had a very bad experience under George III. The Romans had a bad experience under the Tarquins, and that led them to establish a republic that lasted for centuries. But it eventually became a royal government under the Caesars.
I think that if people could be brought to understand the principle, that government is always and necessarily made up of soldiers and priests, then other people, smarter than me, and with more practical experience, might do a better job of devising an improved system.
You may be right. There is no ideal form of government that is likely to rule justly-however you define that term. We just need leaders who understand the necessity of avoiding extinction (or near extinction) from a self destructive nuclear apocalypse. Or– Ideally we need an elite priest class that does not worship Baal or Moloch. I see pagan religions from millenniums past pretty much in control. Not exactly the priest class I think you are aspiring to be in charge.
There are no answers, only temporary expedients.
I’d be inclined to agree with you on that as a rule about politics, but there is real advance in knowledge, even if it is deplored by the people in charge. I have only ever seen this mentioned in ONE book, but it was a scholarly book, so I am inclined to believe it: when the Arabic system of numbers (as we call it) was first introduced into Europe, the Church tried to stamp it out. The worthies said that the new and much better system of notation consisted of “devil’s numbers.”
Machiavelli’s work was deplored by all the good people of his day, and banned by the Church, but every journalist takes the propositions that he advanced for granted today, whether he (the journalist) knows where they came from or not.
If people in general, or even the upper stratum of intelligent people (the sort who read Nietzsche, Machiavelli, and Adam Smith) had a general understanding of the simple principle that government is necessarily made up of soldiers and priests, it would be an advance in knowledge and therefore in civilization. All the nonsense that calls itself social science and costs huge amounts of money would gradually come to be seen for what it is. The academics who teach it would be understood to be just entertainers, just as most of us now regard Christian clergy as entertainers.
“Deplorables” then?
I did…I cancelled my voter registration a couple weeks ago….I’m done
My focus going forward in this hell-scape is: how to manage once they zero out my social security and out running any confrontations with “diversity”
You are too kind. Anyone who voted for him ever should be included in your “stop voting” plea, and maybe we should discuss “forced sterilization.”
Phil, don’t hold back. Tell us how you really feel.
“Democracy” as a practical matter, is a cover for oligarchs to do what they want. A “beard”. After all, your elected representative approved this. If you don’t like it, you can vote for the other corporate imperialist muppet next election.
It is most instructive to compare the Chinese and the Canadian responses to COVID protests. The brutal and totalitarian evil Chinese government gave in to the protesters. “We think the disease is still out there and still dangerous, but we hear you and you want restrictions lifted, so have it your way!” in essence.
The democratic and freedom loving noble Canadian government, in connivance with the Americans, ran roughshod over pretty much every passage in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms to suppress protesters by any means necessary, and called the protesters “Nazis” to boot. The Canadian courts even ruled as much, not that anything was done about it, no heads rolled, not even an admonition to cover their tracks better in the future.
Fact is, a Xi or a Putin cannot say to the masses: “Gee, I really wish I could help, but the Parliamentary Ombudsman says I have to wait until after the election cycle, and even then, my outside counsel will have to give me an opinion, so sorry, my hands are tied….” In China or Russia, everyone knows where the buck stops and nobody can pretend otherwise. A Trudeau can always point the finger at someone else, some person or group that you cannot vote for or influence.
“Trump said Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had signed off on the plan…”
Trump has said in the past, and several times, that getting information to and from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei takes a long time. So we are to believe Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei changed his mind, and that’s after Trump attacked Iran twice within four days? The timing of this announcement is suspect, and I don’t believe Iran would sign an MOU just on the grounds that Trump hasn’t learned his lesson yet (I mean he did just attacked Iran in less than 48hrs).
Or is Trump is willing to agree to anything Iran demands to get out of this war? Well it’s a little to late for that now, isn’t Donny? I can’t see Trump walking away from this with everything invested in it without even a crumb to show the world he succeeded at something for this.
Trump also stated that Netanyahu thanked him today for his commitment for the MOU, yet Netanyahu stated this to the Israeli press;
“Although Israel is not a party to the memorandum of understanding,” says the PMO, “the prime minister expressed his appreciation for President Trump’s commitment that the final agreement reached at the conclusion of the negotiations will include the removal of enriched material, the dismantling of enrichment infrastructure, limitations on missile production, and the cessation of Iran’s support for its terrorist proxies in the region.”
https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/netanyahu-says-israel-not-party-to-iran-deal-but-praises-trump-for-commitment-to-thwarting-nukes/
Is Iran gonna make a deal where they leave the issue of Lebanon and Gaza to rest (I assume that’s what “Israel is not a party to the memorandum” – aka Israel wont be bound by it and will keep attacking).
Or is this a deal where Trump abandons Israel by not addressing none of what Netanyahu said above, which I might add was the whole reason for this war to begin with. If this is indeed the path taken the constraints of the MOU wont last. It won’t last because Israel isn’t finished with Lebanon or Gaza, and I can’t see Itan going silent on that.
There is one significant difference from the past and current statements of Trump. Trump said it take 30 days for the US blockade to be removed. His current wording is that if this is signed the US blockade will be removed the day the MOU is signed. I doubt that will be the carrot that gets Iran to sign. In the end I’m calling BS on this, for there’s to many inconsistencies still to actually believe it’s real.
Trump is simply making stuff up.
Unfortunately, our deranged president has lied so much that he honestly doesn’t know the truth even when he is staring him in the face. Moreover, his “chickening” out has produced $millions for his billionaire buddies who are using the futures market to make substantial sums by knowing where and when to place their short-term bets.
“the war is over” hell its just evolving as it has been for the last how many decades?
The Iran-backed hacker group Hanzala claimed on Thursday that it had breached water infrastructure systems in California in response to what it described as a US attack on Iranian civilians and water facilities, according to Iranian media.-Iran Intl

Pick apart everything you are told, anywhere.
Is “Iran Intl” a real, specific source?
Is it based in Iran or …?
If it exists and if it exists in Iran, when the par above says “according to Iranian media”, does that clause apply to the claim that this alleged hacker group is “iran-backed”? Or does the clause apply to Iranian claims (that I indeed see in headlines published by a news site hosted in Iran) that the west is targeting Iranian civilians and water systems?
After everything Snowden told us and everything Whitney Webb told us (about who controls USA IT security even for critical infrastructure) and the countless “attack attribution errors” throughout history and accelerating with 911, why does anyone repeat/amplify these claims and thus help the imperial cause that helps the oligarchs and hurts everyone else?
He’s always been a liar, but now he’s lost his marbles. Every day – confabulating.
And people voted for this clown not once.
Not twice.
But THREE times!!!!
Americans are dumb.
I suspect they did that not because they really liked Trump, but because the alternative was just so very bad.

No small amount of truth to that. Had Trump faced off against, say, 2008 Obama, he would be a footnote in history, a failed experiment and punchline for Team D jokes, an experiment that Team R never mentions except as a cautionary tale.
Sort of like Walter Mondale, except Mondale had been VP and a Senator.
You got 3 dislikes because they still don’t realize how bad their candidates actually were. Suzie says Americans are dumb….I’m guessing she’s American but pretends that adjective doesn’t apply to her, like all the other double standards they hold. Take the president to task on issues, you should, it’s accountability we expect. Call me a dumb, deplorable piece of garbage, moron, knuckledragger…and shove 2 horrible candidates at me…well, you see how that has worked in at least 2 elections. At least I have already seen a closed border and it took no new legislation, despite what I was told.
The flip-flopping on Iran, what I call his biggest own goal…deserves scrutiny, scorn, ridicule. But if you wanna attack his voters, hold up a mirror because it has recent Democrat precedent.
Unless you vote for Mish, we have 2 choices. Just Two. If you want a third option it’s gonna take a well-financed, charismatic, independent-yet-connected candidate and I don’t see that happening. Hell, I don’t see a front-running Democrat yet. There are already 2 well-forming options on the Republican side at the moment. Long way until 2028. Heck, long way to 2026. I saw how the “red wave” worked out in 2022, we’ll see how the “blue wave” works in 2026.
The current 12 year span we are in (2016 to 2028, Trump / Biden / Trump) reminds me very much of the 12 year span 1920 to 1932 with Harding / Coolidge / Hoover. The Harding administration was one of the most corrupt in history, Coolidge was a complete faliure in foreign policy, and Harding was just inept. So history is repeating with three horrible presidential terms in a row. And we have huge problems on the near horizon like Social Security running out of funds, China doing something on Taiwan. The 1920s led to the Great Depression. I am not very optimistic at the moment.
Good observation. And in both cases the masonic / khasar stringpullers in the background were the same. Given the effective “retreat” of Christianity in the world (and I don’t mean the religion) – 60 million orthodox Christians murdered / killed / starved etc. by the Bolshewiks in Russia, with strong Jewish involvement) tells you much about the way the world is currently going.
