More Oil, No Pipeline  

To appease the Greens president Biden still will not support the Keystone XL pipeline expansion. 

But in an effort to pretend he is doing something about gas prices Biden Wants More Oil From Canada.

Canada has ample reserves under its soil to meet U.S. demand, said Kevin Birn, an analyst with S&P Global Commodity Insights. It just doesn’t have enough pipeline capacity to pump it here, he said.

“There’s not a limitation in terms of resource potential,” Mr. Birn said. “There’s a limitation of capacity.”

The XL expansion was to carry 830,000 barrels a day of Canadian crude from Alberta to Nebraska, where the pipeline would meet up with the existing Keystone pipeline, and then on to refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast

Three Options 

  • Rail: Very Expensive
  • Increase Pressure in Existing Pipelines: Already running near max capacity
  • Keystone Pipeline: Ruled Out

Also note that Sonya Savage, Alberta’s energy minister, also has reservations over more oil.

Savage said that Canada could produce even more, but only if her country’s federal government changed policies that have emphasized greenhouse-gas reductions and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Telepathy and Wishful Oil

Wishing oil from Canada to the US will surely solve everything. The main problem is we are not unified. We need a concentrated focus. 

Please mark your calendar: At 2:30 PM Central, on Wednesday April 6, we all need to wish telepathic oil delivery from Canada to the US. 

When that works, we can then wish LNG straight out of the ground in the US to Europe. 

Wishful thinking and telepathic oil, not more fracking, is the key to solving the problem displayed below.

What if Telepathy Fails?

I have high faith the Mish-sponsored telepathic delivery of oil from Canada to the US will start on April 6. 

Then we will also discover that telepathy and wishful thinking will eliminate the need for fracking, pipelines, and LNG ports.

Rumor has it that Phil Flynn, the head energy trader for the Price Futures Group, is now totally on board with telepathic oil delivery.

Canada’s tar sands are indeed a very environmental friendly alternative, especially given the, by now obviously exhausted and forgotten, climate change debate ! Where s Greta these days anyway ? Cushy overpaid job within the EU circus already ? Nice initiative anyway, the tar sands I mean…..btw , is the ‘hostile’ Maduro regime selling you any oil these days ? Time to release the stolen $ reserves then, allowing Venezuela to pay back its outstanding international debt !

How much Canadian oil does US need for domestic refining/consumption that we don’t already get, I.e. what’s the delta? Whatever that delta is, if we got it, would price of refined products in US actually come down, if so, by how much? Would US consumers notice? Would getting this additional oil from Canada change the global price for oil, I.e. Brent, and therefore impact decisions about how much oil we export? Answering questions of this type is analysis. Saying Brandon is an idiot is blather.

It’s always interesting to me when Democrats box themselves into a corner. It displays the instance in when their political lies have finally met reality and everyone knows it.
I think the schizophrenia on the “climate change” issue comes from within. If you’ve ever met a Democrat politician, you will note that most of the people that work for them are young and extremely emotionally vested. These are the true believers. I think that the senior politicians don’t actually give a fig about “climate change” and are looking for the easiest graft and the shortest route to their next election win.
The young staffers, however, will need to be the ones that get the politician to the promised land. But their issues need to be taken care of, and I think that they have been sufficiently brainwashed on global warming, and it is thus a hill that they will die on. As such, the politician has to go along with his staff, or he will not have the infrastructure to win the next election.
But the politician also knows that the climate change “fix” is not ready, and will not work for the American economy. So the politician has to figure out how to appease the staffers while also not committing so many policy blunders as to have a gaping problem for all of America to see, such as skyrocketing, record oil prices.
It will be interesting to see how Joe escapes this conundrum, if he ever does.

I agree that the legislators in DC don’t give a fig about “climate change” or frankly about most any issue. They used to vote based on a balance between the interests of their donors, their personal financial interests, PR, the impact in their district, and in a lot of cases even the facts.
Unfortunately Congress (both chambers) have devolved from being legislative bodies to parliaments. Today, the most important thing for the vast majority of legislators (at least at the Federal level) are concerned with is a primary battle. Nearly every district in the country is non-competitive so if you are in an R district if you are a potted plant you will win as long as you have the R line on the ballot. If you are in a D district, you can be dead and still win (e.g all of the Democrat leaders). The only way you can possibly lose your seat is if there is a primary challenge.
Since the parties control the primaries, you are pretty much forced to vote with leadership on nearly every issue. You might get a pass on something important for your district as long as the leadership has the votes to win, but that is about it. Even so called swing votes like Sen. Manchin vote with leadership over 90 percent of the time.
So in this case, since the Democrat party receives so much $$ from Buffett and his buddies, they will never support pipelines that can move oil out of North Dakota or Montana. BNSF makes a fortune on moving that oil.
Truthfully, they don’t give a fig about what their staff thinks either. Staff on the hill are fungible. If one of your 20-somethings starts causing problems you just trade them to the other party.

Russia and China also dont give a fig about climate change, maybe these staffers should realize that at the end of an economic war or otherwise that if the US isnt strong and stable. . . The little staffers might not have anyone around PC enough to not. . . Kill them.

Biden changes tune on the Enbridge pipeline ordered closed by Michigan Gov. Whitmer . ya really, restart the keystone cool, but will cost 3 x as much now . Doh

Got the last 5 quarts of conventional 10-30 oil from Walmart (non synthetic) . Last one on the shelve . Manager said if i needed more I would have to special order.

Maybe expansion of refinement in eastern Montana & western ND is in order.

The family i have in Nebraska are not against pipelines, they’re against the product being pumped through it. And they’re good ole conservative, R voting forever type of people.
Maybe joint refining efforts on the Canadian border?

The Democrat party will never support pipelines as long as the monopoly railroad in the northwestern and northcentral part of the country is controlled by their benefactor Warren Buffett. No pipelines means that all of the oil from Canada, and from the Bakken shale formation in North Dakota and Montana has to be carried by Buffett’s railroad to refineries.
The 10 percent for the Big Guy is serious coin.

Canada has a self-declared policy of cutting greenhouse gases by 50% by 2030, and also bringing in boatloads of immigrants with a net jump in population. The math is going to work out if your leader is a failed drama queen.
