Elon Musk Discloses Asperger’s on SNL, Monologue a Flop or a Success?

Elon Musk’s Opening Monologue

Clearly flop or success is in the eyes of the beholder.

Stepping back from the Asperger Syndrome angle, my take is that he appeared to be trying too hard to be funny.

What About Dogecoin?

Elon Musk mentioned Dogecoin in his opening monologue.

Monologue Flop or a Success?

Addendum

I replied “Much better, thanks, I did not watch the show and I did enjoy that skit.”

WaPo has an interesting article up on SNL:
Some SNL cast members aren’t happy about Elon Musk. He’s part of a long tradition of disliked hosts.

I thought the show was good and Musk did a VG job for someone who is doesn’t have experience as an actor.  The video game skit was particularly good.

It is a resounding success.  If it is able to get an article on a global economics blog, then it certainly is a huge success.

The Boring Company is funny enough–so he doesn’t need to do stand-up.

Mish you’ve gone mainstream and soft with fluffy posts like this one. The cyberattack hack on 45% of east coast fuel supplies is a much bigger story economically speaking.

There is a big hack somewhere in the world a day now so a hack is no longer news. Musk going on SNL has never been done before so it qualifies as something new so why not a post on it?

Or to put it another way – I found this post to be of no interest to me so I will employ name-calling and derision in an effort to condition you to post differently.
As Doug78 said, hacks (and ransomware attacks) are quite common.  It doesn’t look like physical structures were damaged and the issue won’t lead to a weeks-long disruption so Mish appears to be letting the AP handle this story.  Aside from that, a Saturday night post that has “Musk” and “SNL” in the title doesn’t pretend it isn’t fluffy so now you know to avoid similar posts in the future.

No there has never been a ransomware attack of this magnitude on energy infrastructure. This is a big story.

It is a big story.  However, current reports indicate that mechanical components are sound and a prolonged disruption isn’t anticipated (at least publicly).  The story itself is being covered by a plethora of news organizations so I am curious what unique insight you think Mish might provide on this particular story.
I think that a more significant story is how these types of attacks are escalating and have been for years.  Perhaps in a year or two when an organization becomes crippled in such a manner they will be derided as not performing basic operational duties (like what was seen in Texas in February).

Did Mish commit to covering all “big” stories?  It’s his blog and he gets to cover what he damn well pleases.

Well I thought maybe economic impact stories. Looks like energy prices are rising further.

CO I am tired of your bitching.
I post a wide variety of articles but none of them seem to be what you want.
Either stop your bitching or start your own blog – I am sick of your whining.

Ok. Is there a place we can post stories like on the old old blog (when it worked)

I did not watch the show but did enjoy the skit also. He has a sense of humor but his humor is not the stand up comedy variety and that’s fine with me. That he has Asperger has not kept him down. He seems be at the sweet spot for the syndrome where you still have the extreme drive and concentration yet still able to relate to people well enough to lead them. What can you say? He is the leader in not one new industry but two at the same time. Nothing succeeds like success.
