In the wake of Escalating French Riots over Emmanuel Macron’s policies, let’s take a flashback look at an Obama endorsement of Macron when Macron was running for president.
Hope Not Fear
Obama: “The French election is very important to France and the values we care so much about. I am supporting Emmanuel Macron to lead you forward. He appeals to people’s hopes and not their fears. I want all of my friends in France to know how much I am rooting for your success. En Marche. Vive la France.”
What a hoot.
Promise Delivered
Obama never promised change, he promised “change you can believe in”.
People believed, but other than Obamacare, Obama changed next to nothing. In fact, Obama escalated drone wars. We are still in Afghanistan and still in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. On the advice of Hillary, he took out Libya prime minister Muammar Al Gathafi. Isis is now in control.
Like Macron, Obama wanted climate change taxation. In contrast to Obama, Macron delivered a diesel tax to save the planet from carbon dioxide. The results speak for themselves.
En Marche indeed. Right down the streets of Paris, torching cars, looting stores, and demanding Macron’s resignation.

I miss Gaddafi and his crazy tent when he went on trips abroad and his crazy all women bodyguards and him agreeing to keep all the migrants out of Europe if Silvio Berlusconi (then the Italian Prime Minister) pays him a few billion Euros a year.
So sad Sarkozy had to order a French fighter jet to bomb Gaddafi’s concoy while he was trying to flee Libya after US had given Gaddafi’s location to the French after he used a satellite phone.
Gaddafi’s arrogant son had threatened that they will expose the election money Gaddafi had given to Sarkozy’s election campaign and that was when it was clear that Gaddafi would have no chance.
Gaddafi should have given money to the Clinton foundation instead and a nice birthday gift to Bill Clinton and he would still be hanging around in his robe and with his all-female bodyguards.
Gaddafi was killed by crazed islamists whose brothers and relatives he had locked up for being crazed islamists. Gaddafi crawled wounded after the French fighter jet strike on his convoy to hide in a drain pipe he had built under the road during his infrastructure spending sprees with oil money and they dragged him out holding his golden gun and stabbed him dead from below the waist.
There was actually a grainy cellphone video made of this that circulated in the internet and was shown by some tv news shows also.

…..I’m not big Trump groupie, but its interesting to compare Obama tailwinds/headwinds to Trump tailwinds/headwinds:
Obama tailwinds:
-90% of the global media adored him, he walked on water, could do no wrong
-Zero interest for almost entire time in office (unprecedented in US history)
-Fed printed what $3.7 trillion while he was in office (unprecedented in US history)
-economy had already crashed and he could blame it on previous administration – so nowhere to go but up
Trump headwinds:
-90% of the media viciously hates him and attacks him 24/7/365
-Fed raising interest rates whole time in office
-quantitative tightening whole time in office (i.e. the reverse of money printing)
-assets fully inflated by the time he takes office and unemployment rate low – so little room for upside
-Russia collusion investigation cloud entire time in office
-Trump tax cut (OK, that’s a tailwind)
Don’t forget the Nobel peace prize just for being elected.
Obama translated: I like bankers. That’s why we didn’t prosecute any significant banker, and actually bailed them out, when they crashed the economy with stupid loans and derivative products. Macron is a banker. We both care deeply about concentrating further wealth and power in the hands of bankers. I am rooting for your success in accomplishing this goal.

Corzine wouldn’t have even been slapped on the wrist if the money of rich customers didn’t disappear. He got away from the banking model of loaning to people who can’t repay and selling the debt before they default.

That is all you really need to know.
People want climate change stopped. They want to burn gasoline more.
Speaking of Obama, and the crown jewel achievement of his whole 8 year presidency, Obamacare, you don’t hear much about that anymore. I’m amazed it hasn’t collapsed. I don’t know how it survives on the backs of the tiny sliver of the population that actually has to bear the full brunt of those massive monthly premiums only to also get a gigantic deductible before OC pays anything. I do notice broke people who get it free via the subsidy don’t hate it.
There might be something going on… but it gets drowned out by the roar of the dumpster fire in the whitehouse.
Let’s not forget, if France has major problems it will suck in Germany. The Euro joins them and Italy at the hip.
Offering security to someone else’s liabilities rarely ends well.
How far will the average German agree to go to keep others in the state to which they have become used to living?
They all deserve each other and will get what is coming to them.
Macron might be the saviour of France but only if he brings in martial law to force change or some crisis takes the country to the edge of the abyss and people decide to change thereafter.
Does Macron have enough gravitas to lead out of this mess?
