Massie Moves to Impeach Hegseth
I am pleased to report Republican Rep. Massie moves to impeach Defense Secretary Hegseth over Iran war
Congressman Massie, a long-time critic of the Trump administration, read the articles of impeachment aloud from the House floor just after the chamber convened at noon. Massie alleges that Hegseth has waged the Iran war illegally, among other “high crimes and misdemeanors.”
Massie alleges that Hegseth initiated the conflict unlawfully, defied Congress’ order to withdraw from the conflict and incurred unnecessary civilian casualties.
Massie has repeatedly clashed with members of his own party in recent years and is ending his time in office after losing his primary to an opponent backed by President Trump. Massie’s clashes with Trump extend beyond the war with Iran. Working alongside Democrat Ro Khanna of California, Massie led the successful effort to compel the Trump administration to release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The House will have to act on Massie’s proposal by Thursday, a quick turnaround. The body is set to leave Washington this week for an extended recess that will end after the midterm elections in November.

Rep. Thomas Massie introduced a privileged resolution to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, accusing him of defying Congress and illegally continuing the U.S. war in Iran. The eight articles also target Hegseth over U.S. military operations in Venezuela and Yemen, including the operation to capture Maduro. Because the resolution is privileged, Massie can force a House vote, though impeachment is unlikely in the GOP-controlled Congress.
Impeachment When?
This move by Massie will fail.
But Impeachment is all but certain in 2027 when Democrats take the House.
Hegseth will either resign, be forced out, or impeached.

Perhaps you’re not up to date on the law of the high seas. “Warships of any nation can board vessels to stop piracy, the slave trade, or unauthorized broadcasting.” 1) How do we know that drugs were actually in the boats? They said they had intel. I don’t believe anything they say without evidence. The proof is in stopping the boat and seizing it, the crew, and the cargo. 2) What do you do with live drug runners? Interrogate them! Find out where they came from and where they were going. It’s called an investigation. You get more intel and start connecting the dots and find the source. At least a couple of men who were blown out of the water survived. They were picked up, interviewed, and let go because they had nothing to do with drug running. That should tell you right there that they had evidence to the contrary, yet continued the murder. 3) To your conjecture, seizing the cargo would have done the very same thing as blowing it up. Only you could have brought proof positive to the American people and the world. Better yet, if it could have been traced, they might have found that it came from China. Another of the President’s claims. Not saying they were lying but some evidence would at least made a show of effort. But that’s what this admin is, a lazy man’s version of government. Just let the dear leader take care of it all.
