New Green Biden: Democrats Trying Hard to Lose in 2020

The Wall Street Journal comments on Joe Biden’s Green Free Lunch.

On June 4, 2019, Presidential hopeful Joe Biden released his 1.7 trillion dollar proposal on climate change, mirroring far-left climate change plans. Mr. Biden wants the U.S. to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Yet he offers little specifics about how to get there. On his first day he would “sign a series of new executive orders with unprecedented reach” to “put us on the right track.” Then he would ask Congress to pass an “enforcement mechanism” requiring “clear, legally-binding emissions reductions.” A carbon tax or cap-and-trade? He doesn’t say.

Biden’s plan would regulate gasoline cars out of existence, forge a new transcontinental railroad, retrofit half of U.S. buildings within 15 years, and restrict development on nearly a third of the country’s land and water. Mr. Biden’s plan calls the Green New Deal “a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face.”

But at least Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the socialist Congresswoman who muses about phasing out air travel and eliminating cows, is honest about some of the costs she would impose. Mr. Biden calls for “drastic action” and says “the next 12 years will determine the very livability of our planet.” Yet he fails to reckon with the economics implied by his rhetoric.

Plan Comparison

  • Joe Biden: $1.7 trillion dollar proposal to “secure our future”. Biden seeks to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 via “executive orders to put us on the right track”.
  • Beto O’Rourke: $1.5 trillion to “invest in people.”
  • Elizabeth Warren: $2 trillion to “roll up our sleeves to get to work on climate solutions”
  • Bernie Sanders: “Our job is to transform our energy system, take on the fossil fuel industry and save the planet.”
  • Kamala Harris: The “New Green Deal is a resolution and I support it and I support the goals.”
  • Jay Inslee: $3 trillion to “rise up to the most urgent challenge of our time, defeating climate change”.

Numbers and quotes from a WSJ video (click on top link to play).

Political Problem

The Democrats are falling all over themselves with absurd ideas and Biden just joined the club.

The WSJ assessment is the same as mine: “The political problem for Democrats on climate is that their grand designs are popular on the coasts but would cost the jobs and livelihoods of the working-class Americans Mr. Biden claims he can attract from Donald Trump.”

When it comes down to jobs and higher taxes vs saving the planet in 12 years (which no one in their right mind believes), the independents and fence-sitters will not vote for this nonsense.

Green New Deal Pricetag

Sanders and Harris effectively committed to AOC’s Green New Deal Pricetag of $51 to $93 Trillion.

By only agreeing to spend $1.7 trillion (expect 10 times that) Biden wants to look like a moderate.

Would millennials support this geezer? Independents?

Nonsense Does Not End With Climate

Every major Democrat contender is in favor of impeachment despite the fact that it’s a losing cause.

Dave Stockman report the FBI Knew The Russian Collusion Story Was A Hoax From The Get Go.

North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows (R) told Hannity Friday night that the FBI knew “within 60 days of them opening the investigation, prior to [Robert] Mueller coming on, the FBI and the [Department of Justice] knew that Christopher Steele was not credible, the dossier was not true, George Papadopoulos was innocent.”

Please note that a Key Figure in the Mueller Report Linked to Russia was a State Department Source.

The FBI assesses” Kilimnik “to have ties to Russian intelligence,” Mueller’s team wrote on Page 6, putting a sinister light on every contact Kilimnik had with Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman.

What it doesn’t state is that Kilimnik was a “sensitive” intelligence source for State going back to at least 2013 while he was still working for Manafort, according to FBI and State Department memos I reviewed.

Kilimnik was not just any run-of-the-mill source, either.

He interacted with the chief political officer at the U.S. Embassy in Kiev, sometimes meeting several times a week to provide information on the Ukraine government. He relayed messages back to Ukraine’s leaders and delivered written reports to U.S. officials via emails that stretched on for thousands of words, the memos show.

The FBI knew all of this, well before the Mueller investigation concluded.

Gotcha Trap

It’s clear the FBI wanted to trap Trump from the beginning and failed.

There are no grounds for impeachment but there are grounds for a closer look into Mueller, the FBI, and Hillary.

Totally Losing Cause

Even if there were grounds for impeachment (but there aren’t), the Senate would not convict.

It’s a totally losing cause.

Democrats are falling all over themselves to help Trump get reelected.

They just may succeed.

Glacier NP – LOL

By the way, “none of you idiots” can have it both ways. The Midwest has record cold and flooding (blamed Co2) and heat (blamed on Co2).

For the record, it would behoove you “idiots” to note we have had record cooling for a while. Please pay attention to the impact of the sun.

Please consider a mini-ice age

The Dems might want to tank this election if they are certain of a recession, in any case, there isn’t much difference between the two parties when it comes to wasting money.

Biden, so far the top candidate or one of the top two, is in the race to make sure the Pa. electoral votes are democrat.

The dems don’t have to try to get the climate change votes because they will get them.

This is just politics as usual. There is nothing to see here. Biden (and the others) must run to the left to get the nomination, and then come general election time, will run to the center.

Nov 2020 is a long way off. Typically the front runner 1.5 years before the election doesn’t win the nomination.

The US produces about 16% of global greenhouse gasses. Even if we adopted the insane ideas and cut our emissions by half, it would make very little difference.

I used to think we had a major demographic time bomb coming where the old would vote for lots of benefits, this may have some effect but our demographics are not that bad … https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_the_United_States. Working taxpayers are not very left leaning at the ballot box…

“Everyone is discounting there will be no economic crisis between now and next fall.”

Not at all – My base position is a recession will do Trump in. Democrats are trying hard to blow it. They could succeed.

As of now Texas would swing to the Dems based on a Biden/Trump race. This is telling. Texas is expected to have 10M new voters in 2020. Tariff threats actually slow the economy faster in Texas than anywhere else.

The ecology movement has won: there is now a little voice in the heads of half of government-educated Americans telling them that they are the evil murderers of Mother Gaia, and they must repent now. Any politician that needs the votes of that half of the country cannot afford to be labelled a lighter shade of green than AOC.

Note that Biden needs to clinch the nomination, so this is expected here. But in the general, the Democratic candidate will appear green by default, in contrast to orange. Biden will then be selling the $1.7 trillion as “renewable tech” union jobs for the plebians burned by Republican tax cuts and, likely, Trump’s bear market.

Yep. There is a better answer. If anyone other than Biden is the nominee, Howard schultz stands a great chance of winning. The country needs an indepedent voice that isnt beholden to the either party.

Everyone is discounting there there will be no economic crisis between now and next fall. This blog vacillates between economic recession and trumpisms.

Good point, that would allow all the Democrats to sell their ridiculous climate change spending plans as “stimulus”

The problem is Trump will create another self destructive crisis. Texas is now a tossup state for 2020. If Texas flips blue there is no way Trump will win.

“There are no grounds for impeachment”

I’d say that obstruction of an investigation would be grounds, but I’ll admit that it’s not going to be enough to get him removed from office. Heck, you can commit perjury and not be removed from office, thanks to Clinton.

You can’t obstruct an investigation (I assume you are meaning obstruction of justice) into a crime that never happened.

Well, the one thing we can take away from the Clintion impeachment is that the standard for ethical behavior is higher for attorneys than it is for President. He was ruled to be qualified to be President, but disbarred.

“Democrats are falling all over themselves to help Trump get reelected.”

In all seriousness – What else do they got? In 2020 they will be the party running on:

  1. Much higher taxes.
  2. Open borders. Flood the United States will illegals.
  3. Destruction of any jobs related to manufacturing or mining (evil polluters!).
  4. Identity politics. Hate toward anyone not like you. And make sure you know the identity politics pecking order.
  5. Total hate towards anything white, Christian, Heterosexual or male
  6. Gun confiscation
  7. Much higher electric and gas bills
  8. Government censorship of any ideas they don’t like (but it is hate!!!!)
  9. Abortion on demand. At any time for any reason. Up until 1 second before birth and after birth as long as you make the baby “comfortable.” All paid for by the taxpayers.
  10. Medicare for all. Just like obamacare – only bigger!
  11. Men in girl’s locker rooms. Men in girl’s bathrooms. Men competing in female sports. Hint: There won’t be any real female sports teams ever again.

There ain’t no JFK coming to the rescue.

In fact, JFK was:

  1. NRA life member
  2. Largest tax cuts in American history (up to that time)
  3. A true war hero
  4. A true anti-communist
  5. Proud to be an American

He would be thrown out of the modern day democrat party.

The resident red/blue cheerleader makes an appearance! More important than your list is the one the uniparty supports:

  1. Cheap money from the Fed
  2. Endless wars designed to generate revenue rather than win
  3. Lack of accountability for bankers
  4. Promote divide and conquer narrative to Americans
  5. Widening of income/wealth inequality
  6. Increases surveillance/police state

Wake us up when Trump takes on the Fed (no, whining for lower rates doesn’t count) or pulls us out of one of the wars we’re involved in.

At times, angry voter blocks take leave of their senses, form circular firing squads and begin firing.

Ross Perot’s run siphoning off 19% of Bush Senior’s vote in 1991, which ushered in the Clintons, comes to mind. The Democrat’s 1968 summer and National Convention of rioting brought us Richard Nixon in reaction at the voting booth.

We are now approaching a third such time in living memory for the Democrats.

Were Machiavelli alive and consulting for the RNC today, he’d likely advise them to enthusiastically support impeachment…anonymously but continuously.
