Time-Wasting Silliness: Facebook to Let Users Rank Credibility of News

In an move that supposedly will weed out fake news, Facebook to Let Users Rank Credibility of News.

Facebook said on Friday that it planned to prioritize high-quality news on the social network by allowing its users to rank news sources that they see as the most credible and trustworthy.”

So people get to rate the credibility of news. Based on what?

The answer is easy. People will believe any story that presents a view they want to hear.

Is there a point to this? Sure, Facebook wants people to waste still more time on Facebook debating what is or isn’t fake new.

Rating news stores based on credibility is time-wasting silliness. That’s precisely why Facebook introduced the feature. Don’t fall for it.

Cool idea! Why not have them rank arithmetic questions as well? As a society we need to move past this 1+1=2 pedantry.

“Time-Wasting Silliness: Facebook to Let Users Rank Credibility of News” It is more than time wasting silliness. Leftist activists on Facebook will call anything and everything they oppose, Fake News. Google and Youtube are being sued by Dennis Prager for their treatment of his Prager University videos. What Facebook/Google/Youtube/Twitter are doing, is about shutting down an opposing point of view to that of those corporations.

Ha! We’re about to see confirmation of confirmation bias. Scary that anyone can actually think otherwise, (I ‘m anchored).

When I look at the number of comments I consider inaccurate on just your site Mish, one has to think the amount of inaccurate info on FB is just about unlimited…

Facebook is evil. Google is evil. The sooner people realize this and stop using these “Big Tech” monopolies who support and donate massively and overwhelmingly to far left wing politicians – the better life will become.

Do away with police departments. Just let citizens police each other.

Bit like encouraging parents to take hysterical sides in a Jr. High ball game. Wisdom of the crowds and all.Let the product sort themselves efficiently and accurately. It’s not clear to where selling accurate, fine-grained, political sorting information to politicians leads.

Couldn’t agree more. Silliness is reaching new levels daily.
