Trade Deficit Jumps 5.5% as Exports Decline and Imports Rise: Winning Not

The Census Bureau Monthly Advance Report on inventories and Trade shows the trade deficit widened by 5.5% while wholesale and retail inventories were flat.

The chart shows June vs May.

These are the final reports ahead of GDP report tomorrow morning.

Could companies be gaming the headlines and tariff timelines by increasing imports into the US before the tariffs bite into the bottom line?

GDP Now dropped 70 basis points to 3.8. A last ditch effort to save face 1 day ahead of the 1st estimate?

I don’t know about 3.8 GDP. The Orange guy just said he is expecting between 4-5 and I’ll be surprise if he doesn’t have the number already
