Trump went silent on Truth Social for 12 Hours. Silence just ended.
Lie of the Day May 31, 2026
Truth Social: Iran really wants to make a deal, and it will be a good one for the U.S.A. and those that are with us. But don’t the Dumocrats, and various seemingly unpatriotic Republicans, understand that it is MUCH tougher for me to properly do my job and negotiate, when political hacks keep negatively “chirping,” at levels never seen before, over and over again, that I should move faster, or move slower, or go to war, or not go to war, or whatever. Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end – It always does! President DJT
May 31, 2026, 11:02 PM
That post was 12 hours ago. An unusually long time without any posts on Truth Social.
The only additional post from Trump was short and sweet, also 12hours ago. “Has anyone ever seen a happy Dumocrat??? President DJT“
Trump Is OK With Silence
Blockade Is a Piece of Steel
“I think we’ve been talking too much if you want to know the truth. I think going silent would be very good, and that could be that could be for a long time.”
“It doesn’t mean we’re going to go and start dropping bombs all over there.”
“We’ll just go silent. We’ll keep the blockade. Blockade is a piece of steel.”
Those comments were made to NBC.
Four More New Notes
1) Trump is going silent on Iran 2) blockade is a piece of steel, 3) threat of bombing Iran back to the stone are is off the table, and 4) threats of “dropping bombs all over there” may be off the table.
While writing this post I typed “I wonder how long note 1 lasts.”
I did not get to finish the post. Silence is now broken.
Productive Call with Netanyahu and Hezbollah
Truth Social: I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, and there will be no Troops going to Beirut, and any Troops that are on their way, have already been turned back. Likewise, through highly placed Representatives, I had a very good call with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all shooting will stop — That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump went just over 12 hours without posting on Truth Social, He now claims to have a productive talk with Netanyahu and Hezbollah.
Does anyone believe either?
Trump Is Bored
I Really Don’t Care
It’s been obvious for years Trump does not care about anything or anyone for years, except himself.
Understood in correct context, that is a rare statement of fact by Trump.
But Trump does care when it impacts him personally. Thus this rebuttal.
“I honestly don’t care if they’re over. I really don’t care,” he told CNBC, with the serene detachment of a man who definitely cares so much he can barely breathe.
This is, of course, the political equivalent of texting your ex at 2 AM to let them know you’ve completely moved on.
We know the pattern. Trump doesn’t care about NATO, right up until he’s shrieking about burden-sharing at 6 AM. He doesn’t care about the stock market, precisely until it drops forty points and he starts personally calling TV hosts. He doesn’t care about his poll numbers while obsessively reading his poll numbers. The man is constitutionally incapable of not caring, yet here he is, caring so little about Iran that he felt compelled to announce it on national television.
And Now This Unbelievable Lie
Truth Social: Talks are continuing, at a rapid pace, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Jun 01, 2026, 11:43 AM
The man who says he doesn’t care and “We’ll just go silent. We’ll keep the blockade. Blockade is a piece of steel,” cannot shut up for two more hours.
Five Things Are Clear
- Trump is terrified
- Trump cannot control Israel
- Israel does not want a deal and seeks to wreck it
- Trump keeps making a fool out of himself with announcements of pending deals that are so one-sided Iran mocks them.
- Trump is now caught in his own lie, and a recent one about Iran being desperate.
What Is Trump Terrified About?
- US escalation
- Iran escalation
- Israel escalation
- Price of oil
- Midterm elections
- Polls
- Inflation
- Impeachment
- Epstein
- The ballroom
- Kennedy Center
- Reflecting pool
- Triumphal Arch
- His legacy
I am sure that’s incomplete. Add items at will.
Options Considered
Trump still has the same three options he has had since the ceasefire started on April 7 2026.
- Military Escalation
- Wait Iran Out
- Agree to a Deal Acceptable to Iran
Netanyahu and warmongers like Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham want trump to escalate, but it is Iran that holds escalation cards.
Iran has already proven it is willing to go after the regions desalinization plants. A big successful strike on Saudi Arabia would mean evacuation of the entire country.
Agree to a Deal Acceptable to Iran
When you throw away every option that doesn’t work, you are left with options that will work.
That is option three, no matter how distasteful.

June 1, 2026: Iran Cancels Negotiations with US Over Lebanon, Oil Surges 8 Percent
Hello Mr. President, about your claim Iran is desperate for a deal.

To those thinking a deal is coming:
“I spoke this evening with President Trump and told him that if Hezbollah does not stop attacking our cities and civilians, Israel will strike terrorist targets in Beirut. This position remains unchanged,’ Netanyahu says in a Hebrew-language statement.
‘At the same time, the IDF will continue operating in southern Lebanon as planned,’ Netanyahu says.”
https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/after-trump-calls-truce-netanyahu-says-israel-to-strike-beirut-if-hezbollah-attacks-continue/
How can a deal be made when Iran requires Israel to completely remove itself from Lebanon?
Trump can’t tell Israel what to do therefore this a fail from the start, and such there eont be a deal unless Iran gives up the demand that Lebanon be free of Israeli military.
So all of this in manipulation IMO by Trump.
Here we are again, the deal can be reached over the “next week”
https://abcnews.com/video/133508252/
If it would happen let’s say on 10/06 it would mean that we have reached 1billion barrels of deficit, accounting for 10m lost everyday +2million of overproduction before the war.
If we remove the 400mln of barrels released by OCSE countries, we still have a GAP of 600 mln of barrels, covered by:
From the third week of June if the strait is not available and running as begore we are going to run out of Oil unless I underestimating something. Any thoughts?
There’s not going to be any deal. Trump is full of s***, and he’s proven himself (and the US generally) untrustworthy.
I was writing the best case scenario…just to try to understand if there was any flaws in my way of thinking…
All Trump cares about is his legacy and like everything else in this life he’s making a mess of that too. The skeletons in his cupboard are stacked high, which one day will come tumbling out – he knows that! So build statues, build temples in his name and have cheesy pictures on banknotes. All of this shouts, you will not forget me. Just another nasty narcissist bordering on schizophrenia.
Israel Backs Down From Bombing Beirut After Threat From Iran

Now they need to get out of Lebanon – including south of the Litani river.
the POTUS is 4 years old.
he’s consumed completely by something for a while. then he loses interest and when the grownups shake the same toy in his face he grabs it throws it away, crosses his arms and starts whining.
gas per gallon in the midwest went down big time here today Is that temporary and will it go back up?
Yes. Oil dropped a lot last week and gasoline prices reflect that. Most oil company CEOs are expecting oil to skyrocket this summer because of shortages. Gasoline prices will follow. The only way to prevent high gas prices this summer is to put a ban on exports, which I would not expect. But anything is possible.
The war is back on! Oil went up today. I hope you got purchased oil calls on Friday.
When Trump and Musk say something is “boring”, it means they are losing. Bigly.
In the 1980s, Carl Icahn made a big, frustrating splash in corporate M&A, with marathon bargaining sessions, abruptly walking out of negotiations, long pauses, weird hours, and jumping from some deal point to some more remote prior point. Icahn had every detail at his fingertips.
I imagine Trump aspires to this kind of dealmaking presence, but he lacks the discipline and intellectual wattage. In his impatience he steps into mud holes with no anticipation, and then tries of rationalize his way out.
Wasn’t it McMaster, who wrote that Trump wouldn’t even finish reading a morning briefing on a 3×5 card with three oversimplified points? Trump would always demonstrate that he had only read the first two, so it all had to be compressed into two points. And that was, like, eight years ago or something.
It’s a slow News Day when all we got here is Trumster-Scheisse.
So Trump’s dementia grows worse by the day, our military is 2nd or 3rd rate at best in face of 21st century warfare, our munitions stocks are running low, and we are blockading many of the inputs to make more.
IDK if the USA has ever looked so weak and floundering, I agree with the other commenter who mentioned what a sad mockery this has all turned out to be.
Trump is tired from bullet dancing, haha
He’s too out of breath to bloviate
His medical report says he has the penile lifting strength of a 120-year-old. I mean, 20-year-old.
Blockade is an act of war, where is Congress again as usual
Hiding under their beds, as usual. Republicans are stained by Trump’s idiotic war (among other things). The Dems don’t want the war to end because 1) they’d prefer high gas prices and inflation close to the fall election 2) They don’t want to irk the Israel lobby any more than do the Republicans. In fact, if Trump does ink a deal that angers Israel, dems hope to capitalize on AIPAC punishing republican candidates. No one in that filthy city of DC ever just does what they think is right. It’s always about political calculations. Profiles of Cowardice.
The most generous interpretation is that he is afraid of being
Epsteined
Kirked
Butlered
Mossaded
Trump can’t keep silent for more than about 5 minutes. After that he has to blurt out some lie, any lie.
And yet key financials seem intact. Bonds are down, AI keeps huming and earnings are not falling. Is AI the cause of all this resilience?
Or is all this a consummation of distraction, and a displacement of religious instincts?
Option 4. Gin up a narrative that he won and walk away…not quite as galling for Trumpy baby as option 3.
Keep flushing those ayatoilets?
Mish,
I do have to ask. How bad do you think is the suffering of the Iranian people, who we know dislike the mullah and the existing regime. Does the blockade have an impact? Think it does and the one sided analysis of American nicompoopness is a little overdone. The Iranian regime is resisting but how long till we see some cracks.
I’m no fan of Trump but I don’t think the mullah are any better. Can we actually talk about what’s happening inside Iran despite the lack of news?
Always appreciate your POV.
Zoey
Iranians want to get rid of this leadership
But they feel betrayed by Trump who promised a regime change
Trump delivered a regime change but made it worse.
Now Iranians are stuck with the mess Trump made.
But can the mullah a hold on to power as the economy degrades faster and faster? We have such hard time measuring the effects of the blockade inside Iran, I would assume they would be in deep trouble if Iranian can’t feed themselves. Obviously they are not fighting the US alone. I think
The Chineses and Russians have much intéressent keeping the US military bogged down in the Iran.
Did anybody overthrow Hitler from within? Did anybody overthrow the Emperor of the Japanese Empire from within? Did anybody overthrow Stalin from within? Only after Gorbachev effectively surrendered the USSR was there any “regime change.” Then everybody was impoverished and miserable (with attempted overnight capitalism implant, a.k.a.”shock therapy” the Chinese were not dumb enough to try, so they still stand) until Russia dumped that and sort of resurrected a version of Stalin-ish governance, not that they are so happy now..And how about that Arab Spring thing? Oh yeah, and the supposed uprising in Iraq War 1, with some Western encouragement, that was brutally put down by Saddam.
I can think of zero historical examples that fit your suggestions of regime change from within.
100% agree. In this case you can bet the IRCG knows well who has the weapons and where, etc. You can’t be just a regular Joe and yell change the leadership. You’d be headless in moments. There’s not even close to a way to overturn IRCG without major losses and near certain defeat. I’m sure they’d tell you to “go step right up!”
When the populace WAS protesting was the best chance for turnover. Bibbi wasn’t pushing Trump at that better time.
You have to be kidding. With the amount of pressure this abject stupidity is inflicting on Iran – insignificantly different than none at all – they could hold power for a 1,000 years. The pressure is all on your hero Trump, a sociopath who does not care about the American people, the Iranian people, or anyone other than whoever is currently kissing his ass.
Mike, what’s your evidence that Iranians want to get rid of their leadership? Obviously some do, but what’s the evidence it’s a majority?
From a poll taken of Iranians by the University of Maryland in the fall of 2025:
“Attitudes toward President Pezeshkian were as positive in October 2025 as they were in the honeymoon period right after he took office. Almost two-thirds regarded him favorably, and majorities remained confident he could advance most aspects of his agenda. Roughly half trusted the authorities of the Islamic Republic. Three-quarters of respondents still want policymakers to take religious teachings into account. However, two-thirds of respondents said that women who do not observe hijab should not be confronted.”
https://cissm.umd.edu/research-impact/publications/iranian-public-opinion-soon-after-twelve-day-war Section “Political and Social Conditions After the War” (meaning the June 2025 “12 Day War”).
Don’t believe what Jojo says.
the president of Iran is not truly in charge of Iran. and the poll doesn’t say they didn’t want to change the government, just that they he has accomplished some parts of the agenda.
the poll did not ask, do you want regime change and an end to theocracy
i’ve heard from various reliable news sources that 80& of Iranians do not support the regime and don’t want a theocracy.
Oh ok. “Various reliable news sources”. If “various reliable news sources” say it, it must be so.
“Three quarters of respondents still want policymakers to take religious teachings into account.”
Sadly, most of the world wants to witness failure now. You know where.
It more like wanting to see an idiot, a braggart, a criminal, etc. get some justice.
I think Trump’s fears and thus his motivations are too inchoate to categorize. He’s a demented narcissist who started this war because he was told he’d win it in 3 days. He didn’t, and everyone can see it – and that’s the thing he cares most about. He doesn’t care about gas prices or inflation or our allies – he doesn’t care if he wrecks the world economy, or if our allies in the middle east (including Israel) get glassed in a nuclear war. He only cares that people think he’s a loser.
Im afraid he and his neo-cons have lost already, What a huge waste of American tax dollars and lives.
Word is that Lebanon president has stated Hezbollah agreed to the ceasefire.
It’s kind of strange that Hezbollah and Israel would stop just because an American president (doesn’t matter if was Trump) called them up after they been exchanging fire for a week or so.
Let’s say this does bring Iran back to the table the original sticking points still exist: Nuclear dust, and the tolls. Anything to keep oil down, markets up I guess.
They know Israel won’t stop, so this just scores them “good guy ” points
You should know better, than to believe Trump can go silent, and for any stretch of time. I have longed for that day myself, in these negotiations. You have to allow the other side to have a voice too. Trump with a mega phone (TS) is NOT helping, and it never has helped him.
Many of his ideas I find logical and positive for Our Country (ex. Borders), and not just His. He does try to do a fair amount of good in his efforts, and his aim is typically in the right direction, but seems to get upended or unwound for some reason. Maybe he literally talks himself out of things? I can actually buy that with Trump.
With Iran, we know by actual examples, that they stonewall negotiations to heighten their chance of success for what they want. They are also very skilled at this tactic. I thought Trump wouldn’t allow himself to get caught up in this scenario, but it appears he has. Now to untangle it all is the issue at hand.
1. Strait – We must “get oil flowing”, and leave a situation behind where this can’t happen again, as the ultimate goal. Get oil flowing first and foremost!
2. Be willing to “Do What You Say” or STFU and let someone else do the speaking for you. (Ex. How about your VP?) Groom him now, and with an adversary that he will learn from. Stay in the shadows…
3. Hold “all accountable” when you say you will. Don’t forget what you spoke about it, don’t do something different than you said you would, don’t blame people, but rather work with them. If they don’t, then Stop as well, and do what’s necessary to get the job done without them!
Do Something!!!
“Many of his ideas I find logical and positive for Our Country (ex. Borders”
You mean like allowing 500,000 Chinese students in and 1m H1B visas (mostly from India)? Well I guess I had you pegged all wrong Stu, you are for quasi open borders after all.

Closed!
That’s not what you’re getting though is it?
Not yet unfortunately…
Look at you, pretending to be sane. Maybe you’ll make a friend, and he’ll come around to your point of view?
Nope.
Have too many to see now, so more is not required. Want some?
1 – okay how?
2 – That’s a great joke. Isn’t Vance too old to groom?
3 – Are we talking about the same Donald Trump?
Actually is any of this post for the reality the rest of us live in? “His aim is in the right direction” is rich.
1. Not sure?
2. Groom as in high level nuclear talks, and not just meetings about opinions. My career dealt in negotiations, which is why I see trouble in the manner in which Trump does so. You need constant real negotiations to get good at doing so, or developing a strategy if you will.
3. If you say if you do X then I will do Y, then DO Y!!
“I don’t know, just make the strait open” is incredible advice mister negotiator, I do not know why Trump hasn’t tried this yet!
Neither do I to be honest.
“Hold ‘all accountable’ when you say you will… and do what’s necessary to get the job done without them!”
The problem with bombing Iran is how many innocent people would die. A lot of people are unwilling to believe that a govt would intentionally put it’s people in harms way as a means to deter the enemy from attack, but it is a real tactic and has dire consequences for the head of any country that does attack.
No one wants to be associated with a leader that kills women and children for example. This fact might be the only reason why Trump hasn’t actually gone through with any of his threats.
At some point if one really wants to win a war, through force, they have to give up their morality and do exactly as you are requesting. It will be interesting to see if Trump can do this, or if he will put that responsibility on someone else, like say Israel for example.
I don’t recall the allies intentionally going after German women and children. However, I do recall a lot of that on the losing side of that war.
True the Germans sacrificed their morality to try and win the world through war and killed many innocent people.
I realize I framed it as this always leads to a win, but this isn’t the reality (obviously).
The point is choosing to lay waste to the innocent is chosen (for whatever reason) in the hopes it brings the enemy to it’s knees. Japan during WW2 is an example of this. And it’s usually the last option taken due to the optics of it all.
And that’s probably the greatest paradox of war – that killing people is moral as long as they aren’t innocent women and children. And yet if pushed as the only option to bring the enemy to its knee it’s often taken regardless if it works or not.
I agree and understand what you say. I don’t wish to bomb, but if they are unwilling to negotiate, then you must do what you say, or stop talking!
Interesting premise on Israel, and they may jump on that, if we support the behavior. I like this as a Trump move to save face for legacy purposes. Also a perfect time to bring in the VP!
You definitely weren’t advocating that bombing should occur, but ” do what’s necessary to get the job done” may one day mean that Trump decides to use bombs “to get the job done.”
I do believe this is why Israel has such a prominent roll in this war; that if need be Trump will have Israel do the realy dirty part as he’s able to wipe his hands clean of such a mess.
No, as I said, I don’t want to bomb. I mean more like negotiations 101. Sit down with your Cabinet, and figure out what you are willing to give up totally and partially, and then what you will not give up period.
Anytime the No period comes up, stop the discussion and rain it back in. Stick to your agreed plan by your team, and do not deviate, unless it’s a joint effort to do so, which would require another meeting.
Have a list along the way, of what you will not negotiate further than whatever that spot is, and once again, stick to it period.
See what I am advocating for, to get the job done, in whatever means they leave necessary.
The bigger issue is simple morality. Iran did nothing to us, so why murder them by the thousands? Who becomes the real terrorist country in international eyes?
– The bigger issue is simple morality. > That can be an issue for certain.
– Iran did nothing to us, so why murder them by the thousands? > I don’t advocate for that. It appears that Iran has enriched Uranium, and dust as well. The U.S. wants that material to prevent a nuclear device.
>> Right or wrong, I am not the President, but I am smart enough to know if they do, it will probably be used on America and/or Israel, as the 2 primary Enemies of theirs.
– Who becomes the real terrorist country in international eyes? > If Iran does so, and gives up the material, and we fairly give them the money to repair infrastructure and the Strait is open and a Peace Plan is in place, Nobody. If not it will depend on how far they push America to act, and how hard America does so. I don’t have any wish to see such a thing.
Retirement is waiting for him…He’s a dangerous lame duck president now
He is far too worried about his legacy.
Retirement? He looks like a spray painted corpse. Death is waiting for him, and it’s getting impatient.
This is just sad now. Not in a joking mocking ironic way, just regular sad. I’m no nationalist, but this is a mockery of a nation thousands died for.
Item 9 is, imho, the reason for many if the items above it on the list.
If so, it must be something that even the Biden Administration didn’t know about.
Not to worry, it is simply his dementia becoming worse by the day.
sit back and relax it will all be fine
curiously the same advice he issued to his underage female rape victims
“It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.” Said the former POTUS George Washington, with emphasis by the deep state on “former”.

Oil traders must love Trump…up / down / up / down….volatility is the trader’s friend.

No kidding! Can make a fortune even playing it safe doing options with straddles. I have been tempted to take a long position under $90 per barrel but I am more of a long term investor than speculator these days…
But these odds are better than any casino. You don’t need to bet the farm, just throw in a few bucks for fun and giggles (and profit).
No doubt! Was thinking about dropping a quarter mil on oil but perhaps playing a little with 10 k or so would be fun and instructive and make some play money. And more importantly I could sleep at night..
