“Bolton played a key role in politicizing the intel that misled us into the Iraq War. We cannot let this extreme war hawk blunder us into another terrible conflict,” Markey stated.
Bolton will be Trump’s third national security adviser, and definitely the worst of the bunch.

Exactly, Sechel. Trump is entirely inconsistent. He doesn’t seem to have any strong personal agenda. Most politicians are predictable in that they do what they think will be popular, rather than what is best for the country. Trump doesn’t do either. He seems to be rather random, and I would argue that random is what is going to cause the most trouble in foreign policy.
Prosperity> depression> war. Today, French are striking due to Macron’s labor reforms. Part of civil strife caused by economic depression. 230+ trillion in global debt. G20 changed rules for depositors. Business cycle coming to an end. Financial crisis coming. Specifics will change each cycle, but the cycles of history are the guide post for what is coming.

You’re all being hysterical about Bolton. He’s not the president. The fact that his hawkish reputation proceeds him gives Trump leverage. This is not the 3rd Bush presidency.
With Trump himself acting stupid/crazy enough to ensure noone even remotely sane would want his image and reputation tarnished by the association; only the true crazies, who wouldn’t even be considered by anyone else; is left to choose from. With Trump himself too dumb to even be able to tell the difference.
Political history lesson: We owe our culture of “rule of law” to the fact that the power of the government is balanced against the power of its people, where the police and army are beholden to that “rule of law”. We have a major problem today because that balance of power is shifting toward government. They may not control the army or the police (yet) but they increase their reach and influence through their secret organisations (the intelligence community) that thanks to “national security law” have the potential to function outside proper law…Our governments (particularly those presiding over the countries of greatest wealth) and their secret services are all just moments away from calling every dissenter a terrorist and using that excuse to undermine our basic freedoms, for now we mute the outspoken by calling them fake news makers. By its “legally” mandated secret nature those government and senate-overseen organisations are filled with a patriarchy of special narrow-minded pro-establishment extremists. They become increasingly dangerous as long as they stay invisible, far beyond the scrutiny or the public courts. You don’t have to be a communist dictatorship to oppress, democratic institutions can achieve the same results.
