On top of that, Trump moans again about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump to Buy Russian Diesel
Truth Social: I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace, another 500,000 Tons during the month of November, and 1,000,000 Tons immediately thereafter. Additionally, based on the condition of their Diesel Refineries, Russia will then deliver, within a short period of time, 3,000,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel. Between our TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz, and this great announcement on Russian Energy, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST! Lower prices for Americans, especially our Great Farmers, Ranchers, and Truckers, is my Greatest Priority. This is a very big and important announcement. Additionally, it must be understood, that Iran will not have a Nuclear Weapon! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump Settled Eight Wars
Truth Social: I settled 8 WARS, am close to ending or settling 2 more, got all of the Israeli hostages back, including the final 28, both living and dead, had hundreds of hostages, from countries all over the World, released and sent back home, won a war in Venezuela, and captured the violent dictator who so viciously ran that country, and stopped the number one state sponsor of terror, the Islamic Republic of Iran, from obtaining a Nuclear Weapon — AND MUCH MORE! Yet, with all of that I, or the United States of America, did not get the Noble Peace Prize. WOW!

Eight Wars Named
Truth Social: This is the woman who received the Nobel Peace Prize over the Great United States of America, whose Representative, ME, settled eight Wars, and many other things. I know nothing about this woman, and neither does anyone else! In fact, to the best of my knowledge, no one ever heard of her other than the fact that she, very obviously, hates Israel. I don’t know what the woman has done. I settled 8 Wars, with letters being sent from every President and Prime Minister from the countries that I helped to the Norwegian Nobel Committee, and I’m about to settle, or win, two more, Iran and, Russia/Ukraine. They’re both happening at breakneck speed but, forget them, it’s the 8 that I’ve already settled, any one of which, in particular, Pakistan and India, would be far more than necessary to win the Nobel Prize. In actuality, I should have won 8 Nobel Peace Prizes, not just 1. The 8 Wars are:
Cambodia and Thailand
Kosovo and Serbia
The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda
Pakistan and India
Israel and Iran
Egypt and Ethiopia
Armenia and Azerbaijan
Israel and HamasAdditionally, I stopped Iran from having a Nuclear Weapon, and blowing up the entire Middle East and, ultimately, far beyond! I saved more lives than anyone in History and, as Maria Corina Machado, a truly fine person, stated to the Media when she gave me her Nobel Prize of last year, “Donald Trump settled many Wars, and deserves the Nobel Peace Prize more than any person that has ever received it.” Based on my record of PEACE, a record like no one else has ever achieved, I agree! I got back all of the hostages in Israel, including the final 28, both living and dead, and worked with Hamas to do it — Nobody believed this was possible! I removed the World’s Evil Dictator, Nicolas Maduro, from Venezuela, and am in the process of making Venezuela a rich Democracy. Likewise, with Iran, I stopped them from destroying Israel, the Middle East, and Europe. I am also preventing, on a constant basis, a War between South Korea and North Korea, and Japan and North Korea. Add China and Taiwan, and numerous other hot spots, which have not been involved in Wars, only because of President Donald J. Trump, and the United States of America. I am responsible for having NATO countries increase spending from 2% to 5% of GDP, creating a stronger alliance and defense, another thing that everybody said was impossible to do. I have negotiated the release, and secured the return, of more than 900 political prisoners from multiple countries in Eastern Europe. Additionally, I have brought 196 hostages HOME from captivity, from all over the World, and did it without having paid a ransom, unlike Biden and Obama who would pay Billions of Dollars. On top of it all, I have created a soon to be very prosperous Arctic. Despite all of this, the Nobel Prize was given today to a liberal person who works at the United Nations, who nobody has ever heard of. In all of the Wars that I have settled, I never spoke to the United Nations—they were of no help. The United States of America, represented by me, as your President, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but didn’t. This is an indelible stain on Norway, one that will never be forgotten. The Nobel “Peace” Prize has been forever discredited by a handful of Radical Ideologues who are Anti-Democracy, and Enemies of Civilization! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Trump Says It Should ‘Get a New President’
The New York Times reports Rebuking Ukraine Over Oil Strikes, Trump Says It Should ‘Get a New President’
Hours after President Trump said the United States would buy Russian diesel, the Kremlin said there would be no immediate resumption of discussions to end the war.
President Trump on Saturday accused Ukraine of causing a “world problem” with Russian refinery attacks and said it should “get a new president,” further undermining Kyiv a day after saying he would open U.S. markets to Russian diesel.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on Saturday, he said the United States had told Ukraine, “you can do whatever you want to Russia. Don’t hit the refineries because that’s a world problem that’s caused.”
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, he said, “wants to make problems for the world.” He added, “I think it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president.”
Over four years since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Ukraine has pursued a strategy of mid- and long-range strikes that have battered Russian supply lines and oil infrastructure. The attacks have helped Ukraine stall Russian advances and even claw back some territory, but Mr. Trump on Saturday linked them to high fuel prices, which spiked this year after the United States and Israel attacked Iran.
“He wants to make problems for the world,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. Zelensky. “He wants to make problems for our farmers, our ranchers with diesel fuel because Russia supplies a large portion of the diesel fuel throughout the world.”
“We will think about when these negotiations might be resumed,” Yuri Ushakov, President Vladimir V. Putin’s foreign policy adviser, said in a statement Friday night.
Does Trump Have a Plan?
Translated from Finnish
Trump’s Russia policy is constantly being searched for some grand strategic plan. I think we should finally dare to say out loud that there might not necessarily be one.
I’ve been pondering all day long about the recent diesel deal between Trump and Putin. To me, it reveals a much larger problem in how we interpret the United States’ current foreign policy. Take a moment to consider the bigger picture of events. Trump has reduced the United States’ own commitment to arming Ukraine. After that, he started a war against Iran, which has driven up energy prices. Now he’s trying to ease the fuel price pressure by striking a deal with precisely that Russia whose war economy the West has been trying to weaken for years.
Can anyone seriously claim that all of this would have been part of some grand and meticulously considered plan? A far more credible explanation is that Trump makes decisions one at a time, pursues quick political wins, and then has to solve the problems he’s created himself. And yet we’ve been following Steve Witkoff’s and Jared Kushner’s negotiations with Russia for months as if there were a coherent plan behind them for ending the Ukraine war and arranging European security.
Why do we keep trying to find more consistency in Trump’s actions than his decisions actually show?ington must be kept in good shape even during the Trump era, but the task of the rest of public discourse is not to constantly invent new, benevolent explanations for his actions. We must assess actions, not imagined intentions. This leads to very practical conclusions for Finland. Our own defense must withstand a situation where U.S. aid is delayed or falls short of expectations. We need enough weapons, ammunition, and air defense, as well as European capacity to produce them. At the same time, cooperation with Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Britain, Poland, and the Baltic states must be deepened. Northern European defense must function even when political support from Washington wavers. Support for Ukraine must also not depend on Trump’s decisions. Europe must be able to supply weapons, fund Ukraine’s defense, and maintain economic pressure on Russia on its own. We must accept that Trump is willing to compromise on European security to secure a political win for himself. Therefore, Finland’s security cannot be built on the assumption that there is ultimately some ingenious plan behind Trump’s decisions that will turn out to Europe’s advantage.
Some Republicans Reject Trump’s Move to Import Diesel Fuel From Russia
The New York Time reports Some Republicans Reject Trump’s Move to Import Diesel Fuel From Russia
President Trump’s announcement of a deal with President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia to import Russian diesel has drawn criticism from some Republicans running in the most competitive midterm races, as the party grasps for ways to contain soaring energy prices.
The president announced the arrangement, which undercuts U.S. sanctions on Moscow, under pressure to rein in the surging price of diesel. The product’s cost has climbed because of the war with Iran, which has clogged a vital oil-shipping corridor, and high energy prices have become a severe campaign liability for Republican candidates in the midterms.
But the campaigns of two Republicans running in pivotal Senate races — former Representative Mike Rogers of Michigan and Senator Dan Sullivan of Alaska — expressed disapproval of the deal with Russia. And other Republicans running in competitive Senate and House races had little to say about the agreement, which Mr. Trump trumpeted Friday on social media as a “very big and important” deal, claiming it would swiftly bring down energy costs.
“It’s a grave error by the president,” said Representative Don Bacon, a Nebraska Republican from a battleground district who is not running for re-election. “People realize that the sanctions on Russia are appropriate when Russia’s invading a country and bombing cities at night.”
Mr. Bacon predicted the deal would have little effect on soaring diesel prices but would offer a victory for one of America’s adversaries. And the congressman said that the agreement would not help Republican candidates. “It looks desperate,” he said.
It looks desperate because it is desperate.
Lindsey Graham Sanctions Bill
Trump claimed he could stop the war in Ukraine on day one. Where is that idea?
This decision to buy Russian diesel will not do anything to lower prices here. But it will give Russia hard currency to prolong the war.
Three weeks ago Trump signed the Lindsey Graham Russia Sanctions Bill to put an economic stranglehold on Putin.
Now Trump announces we’re importing diesel from Russia.
He has no plan, no consistency, no morality, or any coherent thought process at any time.
If Trump wants to settle wars, he should be pressuring both sides, not just one.
Instead, it’s one spontaneous decision after another, on everything, often contradictory, interspersed by bragging how great he is at everything.
The American public is sick of this, and the Midterm Election will be the proof.

Ukraine could not prosecute any kind of war without the CIA, US satellites, etc. When CIA chief Radcliffe told them to cease attacks during his Moscow visit, they did.
No emissions from Trump’s orifice signify anything other than the stench.
The Finnish guy is a blithering idiot. Has he never heard of the Kissinger quote about enemies and allies of the US?!
Ukraine just took out data centers that were used by russia to run bots. Let’s see who’s still around. MAGA morons, identify yourselves now if you want to be considered human.
“If Trump wants to settle wars, he should be pressuring both sides, not just one.” Not in this case. Ukraine is a U.S./NATO proxy, and yet we still pretend they have sovereignty when they have none when it comes to resources/intel to fight Russia. Trump cannot pressure Russia to end the war. Russia will end the war when the “root causes” which Putin has referred to are addressed, or when Ukraine poses no further threat to Russian security (including Crimea and the Donbas which will be entirely Russian).
A few weeks ago, there was a report that Trump offered to sell arms to China.
Think that report was true.

Purchase of diesel from Russia isn’t a random flip-flop as the media reports. It accomplishes several things:
1.) Domestically it reduces trucking costs in the US, and helps Republicans in this election.
2.) It scares Europe into ramping up military spending faster and gets the US out of the European theater to free up military equipment for the middle east and China. Conservative parties are now polling better in Europe, so Europe can sustain a stalemate between Ukraine and Russia on its own.
3.) Diesel that goes to the West does not go to China for manufacturing in general, and by extension to its military. The US is attempting to separate Russia and China a little bit. Things are heating up in the Pacific Rim.
Europe cannot sustain anything for long, perhaps even within their own borders as the energy/economic crisis deepens. We could see leaders being overthrown soon, if not through elections, by force. BTW, Ukraine is hardly a stalemate – the country is on the verge of collapse and Russia is making preparations for taking Kiev.
The U.S. will not be able to separate Russia and China one whit. They will only deepen cooperation from here, fully understanding that we are a common enemy.
I think Trump really believes he is deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize. It is hard to imagine a more delusional leader.
He also believes he’s intelligent.
This is really a great post Mish!
The Finnish comment that Trump is unreliable and can’t be counted on as an ally is certainly an understatement
If Trump wanted a new president in Ukraine, he need only call the CIA director.
Similarly, “Ukraine” supplies nothing other than cover and warm live bodies. Russia is being played for fools again.
People criticize trump as being too “transactional.” But that is too kind. He is just a con man.
I don’t need to get into the wisdom of the Ukraine conflict, to see this.
The USA has certainly thrown people under the bus. It is typical for us politically to grow disenchanted with a movement (Southern Reconstruction, 1919 Versailles treaty and League of Nations, Vietnam, Iraq), and turn away, leaving others to pick up pieces. But this guy cynically wallows in it every day, in every way, with our name on it. It is as much his brand, as is his name.
There is no person, deal, promise or principle Trump won’t discard in the blink of an eye, for his personal convenience. This is the model of the person who should be rejected by all. It is pathological. .
