Trump Tweet: Send Illegal Immigrants to Sanctuary Cities Only

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Targets Sanctuary Cities Amid Stepped Up Immigration Push

President Trump and senior adviser Stephen Miller are pushing ahead on a revived bid to stem illegal immigration, the president’s signature issue, after a week in which almost all of the top leaders at the Department of Homeland Security were ousted or hobbled.

A White House official contacted officials at the Department of Homeland Security in November to inquire about the feasibility of busing members of a migrant caravan to sanctuary cities if there wasn’t sufficient temporary housing where they were detained, according to an administration official.

ICE’s acting deputy director at the time, Matthew Albence, responded that the proposal would be operationally difficult and could also raise a variety of liabilities, and the proposal has since been dropped, the administration official said. The proposal was first reported by the Washington Post.

“This is not our ideal policy,” the administration official said on Friday. “Our ideal policy is enough detention space so we can detain people and remove them.” The official cast the suggestion about Mrs. Pelosi’s district less as a serious proposal and more as an effort to expose what the official called the speaker’s hypocrisy on the matter.

The president’s tweet was intended to provoke a response from Democrats about why they would oppose allowing detainees to be placed in sanctuary cities, the official said, but described the president as eager to partner with sanctuary cities on such a proposal.

I am certain of two things

  1. Trump is not playing 4D Chess
  2. This plan will never be implemented

Here’s Trump’s Tweet if you care to respond or read comments.

Brilliant idea! ~ and I hope they can figure out a way to toss the illegals over the WALLS surrounding the liberal elites estates.

I know this will make the old white guys who read this blog heads explode but the more immigrants a city has the more vibrant and stronger its economy is. The places which have few immigrants in flyover country are dying. Places like West Virginia and Mississippi don’t get any immigrants and their quality of life is at the bottom of the barrel.

You’re mistaking correlation for causation.

In totalitarian dystopias, all wealth and purchasing power is stolen, then doled out, by The Fed and government.

Immigrants simply see this, and go to where the recipients of the loot mostly congregate. Much more lucrative to change bedsheets, clip fingernails and give blowjobs to Fed welfare queens picking up their check on Wall Street; than to do the same for someone busting his rear in a coalmine only to have every single penny confiscated by apparatus’ of the totalitarian state.

The term Cloward Piven comes to mind when I hear our psuedo conservative president even mention the thought. Trump often reminds me of Rahm Emanuel , never let a crisis…

That’s never good for our Constitution and gun owners have already paid a price for his ignorance.

This is one of the few things trump’s said that I actually agree with in principle… even if it’s not practical. Sanctuary is what these folks are looking for, and those cities are supposedly willing to provide it.

Correct. Mexico had no problem letting all of the immigrants pass through their country until the USA decided to patrol the border more vigorously, trapping the people to stay on Mexican soil. The Mexican gov’t is singing a different tune now that the immigrants are ‘their’ problem.

Those who love ‘diversity’ should live in and only them.

This plan is exactly what Sanctuary cities deserve.

Its time to make diversity someone else’s strength

The Somalis are here as legal refugees, largely. The Somalis Minnesota story tracks to 1991, when civil war broke out in Somalia. Millions fled to refugee camps, many in Kenya.

Two years later, the first wave of Somali refugees were sent to Minnesota.

“In the beginning the U.S. federal government assigns people,” said Samatar.

To qualify as a refugee, there is a process. The U.S. State Department ultimately decides where refugees will live, but it has to do with the voluntary agencies, called VOLAGS, that contract with the State Department.

So now that the war is done, they can go home.

Or perhaps there’s lots of room in western North Dakota for them, and I’m sure capitalists can buy local meat packing plants for them to work at. Or perhaps farming???

I think they came here legally. The post was designed to calm the hysteria of the anti-Trumpers, to illustrate that the federal government can indeed relocate migrants where the government chooses.

Of course they did. And Californication thinks their sanctuaries are ‘legal’. What is law itself but the Written Whim of those in charge?

1st Amendment? If HRC had won, who needs it? 2nd Amendment – gone. 4th, 5th & 6th? Obsolete. We came pretty close. Atlas Shrugged explained that pretty well.

What is the big.gang.guv itself but a Rent-a-Cop for the more ambitious members of the big.gang.biz?

No matter what the Dems do, they get put in a quandary by Trump. Trump’s take is let’s see if the Dems really want everyone from Mexico in their state or city. Let’s see how the voters react to that. On further review, the 2020 election may be a landslide in Trump’s favor.

Trump did just hold a rally in Michigan. A story i read stated that 34% of the people attending were registered democrats.

Mish still taking Trump literally. Not sure why.

This tweet is a 2020/re-election tactic… and it’s working. It’s the idea – the threat – that counts, not the action. Tweets like this are exactly what Trump needs to cement his lead in battleground/flyover states.

Only fools think DT is a fool. The guy re-wrote the rules & he knows how to win, period.

Spot on. He actually won more counties in California in the 2016 election than Hillary did. It is a total electoral strategy by Trump and it’s working to a tee. I would not at all be shocked to suburban voters not show up in blue states like California. Turnout has always been a problem for Dems but it could be worse in 2020 than in 2016 because of issues like illegal immigration. Meanwhile states like Texas may have higher turnout for Dems but it is because the people are about 30 years behind. Texans only need to look at California for what rapid growth, Democratic policies and and legislative takeover by one party looks like.

Do you have some fantasy that Texas allows non citizens to vote? In fact Texas routinely refuses to allow US citizens to vote if their skin color is not white. Texas will turn blue in spite of the republicans voter suppression efforts because the state is becoming less white with every year. Only 33% of the children NOW alive in Texas are white. That’s the future.

Personally I don’t think it is voter suppression to ask for ID to prove voter legitimacy in a voting district. Although Democrats don’t mind raising people from the dead to put on the polls. Please refer to criminal prosecution that took place in VA during the last election cycle. Gerry mandering by either political party…I don’t like that. I don’t have an issue with brown, black, white, yellow people, or green Martians as long as they are legally registered voters.

I would say send them all here, if the Feds will build low income housing for them (the middle class cannot afford to live in the Bay area, much less immigrants with little savings and no job).

President Trump needs to refresh his memory on Aesop’s fable “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.” Enough of this tweeting silliness where no action is likely. Pretty soon everyone, including the most rabid Trump supporters, will ignore all his tweets.

Playing people as pawns in another’s games is enmity at its core. Think of if you were being bused off to wherever purely for someone else’s agenda. Say from Texas to San Fran. All people matter, and “some” are not political cargo.

The only people listening to the moral preening of those advocating breaking the law smoke lots of weed and like drum circles.

Like an unruly puppy, Trump wants to rub the nose of those same people in the mess they’ve created. I’d put money on it being implemented because there is no downside for doing so.

In every progressive hellhole ever, from The Soviet Union to North Korea, mere members of “The People,” have never been considered anything other than playthings for members of the Party and their hangers on. Why would “our” particular hellhole differ in that respect, when it doesn’t differ in any other?

It won’t be implemented but this was a smart move by Trump. He needed to calm some people after yesterday’s Assange debacle and red meat like this certainly helps.

What a dumb plan. All CA has to do is say “sure send them over. We will provide them with a picture ID and them over to all parts of the US by bus”
