Interest rates might be less than half of what they were then, but what today’s borrowed dollars can buy is less than 1/4 of what they could in 1980.

Turley as a libertarian ought to know better with his eat the rich comment during political and economic turmoil. It is the economic elites that determine supply in a country that is a republic such as the US with courts that support protection of property over the right to peacefully protest, the right to assemble and the freedom to associate. The rules of the road are set by the political elites that support the capitalist or quasi capitalist system.
When the economic and political system no longer serves the majority of the population the solution is to change it. The economic elites will thwart the change by turning to friendly judges and public or private goon squads thereby expressing their illegitimacy. The solution to illegitimacy is to purge the system of anti-republican sentiment through education, strikes, embargoes, boycotts and prosecution of the elites attempting to overthrow the preamble of the Constitution.
If this is eat the rich, so be it.
