Are You Expecting a Creampuff Interview of Harris and Walz by CNN?

I don’t know what to expect, but a one-on-two interview of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz by CNN anchor Dana Bash seems more than a bit odd.

CNN’s Dana Bash to Interview Harris and Walz on Thursday

The New York Times reports CNN’s Dana Bash to Interview Harris and Walz on Thursday

Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to her first major interview since she became the presumptive Democratic nominee for president five weeks ago.

Ms. Harris will appear on CNN alongside her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota, for a joint interview on Thursday in Georgia. Dana Bash, the CNN anchor who co-moderated the debate in June between President Biden and former President Donald J. Trump, will conduct the interview.

CNN plans to tape the joint appearance on Thursday afternoon and air it that evening at 9 Eastern time.

The question of where and when Ms. Harris would sit for an extensive discussion with the mainstream media has started to loom over her candidacy. She has shown little enthusiasm for speaking with reporters in unscripted settings, outside of a handful of impromptu sessions on the campaign trail that left little opportunity for sustained questioning about her policy plans.

Ms. Bash, 53, the anchor of “Inside Politics” on CNN, started at the network as a producer shortly after graduating from college; she has been a stalwart of the channel’s campaign coverage since 2000. Ms. Bash and Mr. Tapper received praise for their efforts at the June debate, where they played a muted role as the candidates clashed onstage.

Harris needs to explain her price gouging plans, tariff plans, EV plans, and her flip-flops on fracking, Medicare for all, and the Green New Deal.

In 2019 Harris told voters “there’s no question I’m in favor of banning fracking.” How about we start there given Pennsylvania is the second largest US exporter or natural gas.

I will withhold judgement on the cream puffiness of the interview depending on questions and how much time is devoted to Walz who should ne be in this interview at all.

Kamala : we proposed tariff on steel and key industries, focusing on China and Russia. My plan is different than Trump’s plan.Trump plans to impose tariffs on all countries. Trump is a threat to our democracy. We are saving our democracy from him and MAGA. We didn’t reduce the secret service in Butler PA. Don’t be funny. We aren’t responsible for Trump assassination attempt.

Expectations:

CNN cares about ratings but will not be out to sabotage the ticket.

The interviewees will have vetted the questions beforehand and have pre-prepared answers.

Delay between recording and broadcast will allow “bad” moments to be edited out.

In the current world of lies and propaganda, obviously I don’t “know”. But:

(1) derived from CNN’s financial self-interest and recent behaviors
(2) based on numerous reports for similar events, most well-known being the debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton
(3) for an event of this importance to the nation, that’s the only reason I can think of to avoid doing a proper “live” interview.

The whole thing is “a bit odd”.

Why are they hosting a joint interview with an incumbent vice president, and a random governor, and not the now invisible president?!

The very obvious first question should be..

“How is the president?”
Because if he’s not fit to run or be in charge, then she is supposed to be the president already.

The next obvious question is:
“Why doesn’t she do any of her proposals whilst she is currently in office?”

What are the voters actually being asked to vote for?
More of the same or something new, and if it’s new, why do they have to wait 6 months for it?!

This is the weirdest, managed, non-election in American history… There’s absolutely nothing normal about it. It’s not acceptable either.

Ignoring the nomination votes they engineered to install an unpopular candidate who is already in office, with a sitting president who is clearly medically unfit for work, and should be 25th’d long ago, whilst bombarding the main alternative candidate with relentless dubious legal cases.

The whole thing looks like a giant, messy, incompetent bureaucratic coup d’état by the American civil service, no doubt with all kinds of shady financial backers.

“A bit odd”?!

It’s all very weird…

So let me get this straight. The coup that handed the candidacy to Mrs. Harris, and took no interviews, will now have a “joint” interview on the network which is the propaganda arm of the Dem party, edit that interview for most positive impact, and then air it. Talk about a beauty pageant. But there’s a catch – the puppet gets to bring her voice coach. Gotta say – dems’ plans are working quite well. They should be proud.

Big corporations (like Warner Brothers Discovery – which owns CNN) run their news networks at a loss in order to promote their agenda. CNN doesn’t have to be “saved”. Losing money is a trivial business expense for Warner Bros. Same with the WaPo – owned by Bezos. Bash might try to win a couple of credibility points with a couple of “tough” questions, but she won’t cause Biden Harris any real problem. (I’m changing her first name from Kamala to Biden.)

The world has already witnessed the most media controlled president in history. He barely speaks without the throng of “advisers” around, and you can scarcely imagine any TV “event” not being saturated with the same”advisors” to police the media – not that they need to. Their whole MO is to try and control outcomes, and (now revealed by Zuckerberg) the message and public discourse.

Hobbs campaign in Arizona and this national election are very different. I agree that the Hobbs un-campaign worked, but things are different in this large, diverse and highly visible arena. Biden had the Covid pandemic to keep the light off him and then the fraud was focused on a limited number of states. This time Harris so far has no such camouflage and it won’t work.

Question: The question of where and when Ms. Harris would sit for an extensive discussion with the mainstream media has started to loom over her candidacy.
She has shown very little enthusiasm for speaking with reporters in unscripted settings, that left little opportunity for sustained questioning about her policy plans.

Answer: CNN plans to tape the joint appearance on Thursday afternoon and air it that evening at 9 Eastern time.

– So when and where is, When a friendly interview situation arises, with her very, very good friend for example.
– The zero desire to do unscripted or holy cow a Live Setting. So a Taped Show, with Editing and Changes able Too Be Done. Then show it later that night (9:00pm) to keep the viewer ship down!
– Unscripted, so do the interview with a dear Friend. Done!
– Questions decided before hand, and reviews together. Done!

See how easy this is…

The media’s job isn’t to seek truth or even question everything, its job is to get Harris elected. Knowing this, how can this “interview” be anything but a pr piece?

There will be 1 or maybe 2 “hard questions” that can be used as the lede and spread all over to give the impression of “Fair and balanced” but they will be dropped like a hot pancake as soon as they are stated. The interviewer won’t probe or ask follow up questions in the same vein.

They’ve been doing this since the 1980’s, is anyone surprized or even expecting anything resembling David Frost spending an hour discussing policies, past behaviours, etc?

CNN made an attempt at Biden -Trump debate to ask a few questions pertaining to a Journalist third party approach.
There is no future if they softball the interview, for CNN. Company has already been written off.
Tapper is not involved and Bash may become the Face of a different future for CNN.
MSNBC already holds the throne for TDS audience which means CNN has no following from center right, little from Center and play second fiddle to TDS central.

If they do a fair interview as Journalist of left of center perhaps they will regain some audience. I would be sorta shocked if CNN went full Fourth Estate.
Since backpedaling of far left progressive Harris is underway suggests CNN could play a roll in redefining Harris-Walz.

Much of what you say has been true.
The results is a major loss write down for the parent company.
Since those who buy Politicians like the Parent Company, do so to make money. It is organized crime right out of the God Father movie series.

Press being lapdogs for politicians is proving costly, thus it is in the Bad Business category to continue doing so. It always has been about the money.

Mass media is three ring circus to bring in advertisement money. That is what they sell. If general audience as it is now doing, sees thru the Bull, does not bring in viewership, the Business model is failed.

CNN is not indispensable if they keep losing viewership and money. They have to change course. That they did so in first Biden-Trump debate was first move away from where they have been going.

Both parties end up in a better place, CNN gets redefined left of Center, builds credibility in that category and regains viewers. What Harris gets out of interview is rebranded. Win Win for both actors.
It is just Business, nothing personal, just Business.

Mass media just anther form of reality TV.

Theory: Bash is the Prize, so if Bash and Kamala, as good friends, can come together and write a beautiful Q&A for a terrific interview for the MSM to proudly say: “Best Ever” If it goes well enough, Bash will be the New CNN Presidential Reporter, and Harris will Only Do Interviews with Her!!!

CNN gets a chance to become relevant once again. Harris gets to hide behind an organization tied deeply with Her, and if Harris has success CNN has success, Last Chance perhaps?

Don’t forget there is no rush, so she may answer only 8-10 questions, if that. They can say it was such a warm interview with so much to discuss, and with the complexity and all…

Money is Never problem, once you’re down to 2 Candidates. You have 2 sides, with Many Wealthy People who want their way. They spend there money on the side closet to there agendas, and all of it that they have that can be spent, will be.

Before we interview, perhaps we should decide what job we’re hiring for. Let’s imagine we’re hiring positions for the school our kids go to.

For example:

BIden: We’ll assume he doesn’t molest the kids, but seriously, would you hire him as a school crossing guard? For your kids, no way.

Okay, so…

Kamala Harris : Given her skill level, language effectiveness, and caring nature, she’d qualify as a school counselor.

MIke Walz: Not classroom instruction, or ROTC, but he might be good as PE coach.

Donald Trump : loud mouth, make our schools great, and knows how to create value in buildings; he could try fundraising for the school’s new football arena, but likely to piss off 57% of the donors. Besides, he’s better at managing the construction project.

JD Vance: he’d make a great vice-principal (no shortage of discipline) and ROTC, football coach, for sure.

perhaps put away you school years, bury your glory, its over. The real world does not resemble a school in any way, thats why schools are so terrible at preparing youth for real life.

a better analogy would be a functioning viable business, the dems would run charities that use all the funds for themselves and blame everyone but themselves. So Kamala would be a fund raiser, she’s chatty and will say whatever people want to hear to give her money.

Biden would be the nonprofit CEO, funneling the donations overseas to his many Bahamian trusts.

Mike Walz, a guy really proud that he got a corner office, and no desire to chance a rise up the chain, so all his days spent figuring out how to remain static in a dynamic world.

Trump, would be CEO of a world wide money making business, used to solving problems daily, no fear of his enemies, but understanding and using them against each other.

Vance, would be a home builder that started as a carpenter or carrying concrete blocks, and learned the ins and outs. Knows how to deal with the building trades, the banks, and the home buyers, he is working on building his way to a nationwide construction company, that sells to every price point and market and knows how to make a comfortable margin on every sale.

CNN will probably give her five takes to tell you why she’ll be an effective leader, even though everyone knows she’s just middle management material at best.

MY MIDDLE MANAGERS were the GROOMED ONES and Kamala would have been stuck in the FILING ROOM and even then, she would have misfiled KEY CLIENT INVOICES, etc.

CNN is a branch of the Democrat Party and will interview them accordingly.

She needs her Training Walzs on for the first interview. Sweet, I wonder if she’ll wear a helmet as well?
