What Does the Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump Change?

If, you are a Democrat, the tendency will be to underplay the importance. Republicans will do the opposite. The truth is in between, but advantage Trump.

AP photo of attempted assassination of Trump vs Biden from CNN debate.

Powerful Contrast

That is a very powerful set of contrasting images. Trump appears strong, poised, defiant, and confident.

His political instinct was amazing and he was lucky that the press captured a perfect image.

You are sure to see that image in numerous ad campaigns, right next to a feeble image of Biden.

Republican Unity

Republicans, divided by the Haley faction, have rallied around Trump.

The Wall Street Journal reports Nikki Haley now plans to speak at the GOP convention. She wasn’t included in the original program. The image of Haley at the convention intensify calls for unity.

It would behoove Trump to grab this idea and run with it. He still needs a good VP and avoid the abortion trap as much as possible.

Sympathy Vote

Those deciding between Trump and Kennedy have a reason, or at least an excuse to go with Trump.

Those deciding between Biden and Kennedy may find a reason to go for Kennedy.

The Secret Service handing of this has been terrible. Biden picked the Secret Service director, Kimberly Cheatle, in 2022.

In a close election little things matters.

Elon Musk

Republican National Convention

The Republican National Convention kicks off Monday in Milwaukee at 12:45 PM Central. Security will be high.

Emotions are already strong and images of Trump holding up his fist will be on huge display.

Typically the Vice President candidate gives a speech on on Wednesday and the President on Thursday (the last day), but we still do not know who that is. I suspect it’s between Florida Senator Marco Rubio and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum.

The other two names on Trump’s Short list are South Carolina Senator Tim Scott and Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance. Of that lot, I think Rubio is the best choice and Vance the worst.

Trump is likely to get a boost from the assassination and another one from the convention. And it’s likely we have not yet seen the entire boost from the debate because there have not been many polls.

Democrat Chaos

Whereas Republicans have a good opportunity to unite, the Democrats are in a state of confused panic.

Forbes reports 20 Democrats in Congress have called on Biden to step aside. That was two days ago.

Four days ago, NBC reported ‘It’s already disastrous’: Biden campaign fundraising takes a major hit

Nate Silver comments “The early indications are that the White House will use this as another excuse to deflect the question and hope to run out the clock. But the White House is pretty clearly interested in what’s best for Biden’s ego and their own sense of self-preservation and not what’s best for the country. If Trump’s position is strengthened by this, even marginally, that’s all the more reason to gamble on an option with higher upside.”

The “option with a higher upside” means dump Biden.

Excuse to Run Out the Clock

Silver commented “Uncertainty tends to freeze people in place, especially when abetted by fear. They sometimes become convinced that they’re trapped in a doom loop from which there’s no escape, even when there’s an exit ramp that they’re too myopic to recognize.

Sliver linked to the New York Times article Doing Nothing About Biden Is the Riskiest Plan of All

If anything, the Secret Service handing of the assassination attempt is another reason to abandon Biden. But here the Democrats are, hiding their heads, at least until the next major gaffe by Biden. Don’t worry, that won’t be long.

Biden Halts ‘Trump Is Hitler’ Ads After Assassination Attempt

ZeroHedge reports Biden Halts ‘Trump Is Hitler’ Ads After Assassination Attempt

Joe Biden is “pausing all outbound communications and working to pull down our television ads as quickly as possible,” a campaign official told The Wall Street Journal on Sunday morning.

Biden’s anti-Trump claims have rightfully led critics to question whether this heavily partisan rhetoric has incited violence against Trump.

This rhetoric often conflates Trump with dictators, including Adolf Hitler, and suggests he would end “Democracy” if elected.

Betting Odds

Following the assassination, many people on my blog and also on Twitter made comments that Trump is now assured of winning.

This is foolish talk. I think the above chart is in the ballpark. I would guess that’s a tad low, say 75 percent.

But 25 percent, even 15 percent is something, not nothing. Trump has a propensity to put his foot in his mouth. Fortunately, for Trump, Biden’s propensity to do the same is now much higher.

For that reason alone, Democrats should change horses. And they might. I still believe they will. And if they do, take the above odds and throw them out the window.

Yes, I am aware of some polls show Biden doing even better vs Kamala. Throw that thought away too. It may be true, but there’s a strong chance it isn’t. We really will not know unless and until Democrats decide to switch.

Republicans Focused, Democrats Not

For now, Republicans are focused. Democrats are busy pulling ads.

Biden has to deal with this: The Secret Service Failed its Only Mission. Biden Should Fire the Director

The ramifications of a disastrous debate are still not tallied but the initial results are not good if you are a Democrat.

For discussion, please see Post-Debate USA Today-Suffolk Poll Has Grim News for President Biden

I created some charts from a new post-debate poll that shows Biden is weakening fast.

Rising Unemployment

The Unemployment Rate Bottomed a Year Ago, Who’s Impacted the Most?

The unemployment rate may be low at 4.1 percent but it’s up 0.7 percentage points from the low and headed in the wrong direction.

What About Recession?

Finally, Biden has to deal with an economy that is cooling fast.

For discussion, please see Weak Data Says a Recession Has Already Started, Let’s Now Discuss When

I’ve seen enough. A recession has started. Let’s discuss starting with a very good indicator that has few false positives and no false negatives.

As for who’s most impacted by the rising unemployment rate, it’s young voters and blacks. They are abandoning Biden in droves.

Things look increasingly good for Trump, but it’s not over until it’s over.

After “they” tried to Tupac Trump, Trumps numbers only increase among black voters. Joe will still be in denial after the election, commenting that he was doing great, a great record, he was winning, “Till a landslide brought me down”. For the old fogies on the comments.

Would focus a bit on the people aspect of this issue.
Anecdotal but also relevant.
Hot this weekend so went to an County Ocean Barrier Beach to just take a breather.
It was very very busy. Never have seen it so busy.
In spite of that people were just downright pleasant and quite courteous.

Absence of agendas.

Woman were looking like woman can look in a good bathing suit. Guys had their surfboards, bogie boards and played with their children.

One rescue at some distance from us brought out the Lifeguards 4 wheeler. Few sirens as the ambulance came from mainland.

Return of normalcy.

What do people want? People want a return to normalcy. They are done with the Lies, done with the concerted effort to redefine Society.
I would venture done with DEI as well.

They are done with any Politician who does not understand that people just want to live their lives with a sense of peace and quite. Getting along with their neighbors and not having to look over their shoulder just because they have to go to a store.

Whichever party can deliver those basics will be in the White House and have a majority in Congress.

And it’s truly sad that this event will be turned by both parties into just another opportunity to get votes.

Meanwhile the hate and divisivesness will continue to fester throughout the country, as will the political games played by the politicians “for life” who no longer care about their constituents ie. their employers and bosses – us!

In my day to day life, like RichardF’s, there isn’t that much hate or divisiveness. What I do see comes mainly from the media – tiny minorities on all fringes get horribly amplified by the current media establishments. Reality is people go to work, go to stores, raise their kids and generally are ok.

Stuki Moi
Stuki Moi

“Reality is people go to work, go to stores, raise their kids and generally are ok.”

But reality is also that the only means “people” have to afford that, is Fed handouts.

And, since printing money does not create any wealth; those handouts have to be taken from someone else.

Hence, increasing divisiveness is, by economic/logical necessity, baked in as the central component in what the indoctrinati are told to uncritically worship as “the system”:

You simply can not have a “system” where those who have, have so almost solely due to a central bank handing to them loot stolen from those who then obviously have increasingly not; without the theft beneficiaries and the victims becoming increasingly “divided.”

a party’s function is to mobilize voters, you criticize the thing for doing the thing it was designed to do. you need to turn your focus to the malfunctioning elements of society if you want to understand why the world stopped working.

Sorry to interrupt the discussion of the Staged Trump Story…

Trillions in Hidden Debt Drove China’s Growth. Now It Threatens Its Future.

LIUZHOU, China—Officials were bullish about the future of their factory town in early 2019. The economy was prospering, a new industrial district was on the way and an elevated light-rail system was taking shape.

“The achievements of the past year have not come easily,” Mayor Wu Wei said in a city report at the time. He credited the grit of local party leaders but didn’t mention an ace in the hole.

For years, Liuzhou and scores of other Chinese cities together amassed trillions of dollars in off-the-books debt for economic development projects. The opaque financing was the yeast that helped China rise to the envy of the world.

Today, overgrown construction sites, sparsely used highways and abandoned tourist attractions make much of that debt-fueled growth look illusory and suggests China’s future is far from assured.

Liuzhou, a city in the southern region of Guangxi, raised billions of dollars to build the infrastructure for a new industrial district, where a state-owned financing group acquired land and opened hotels and an amusement park. Other tracts of acquired land sit vacant, and many area streets look practically deserted. Birds flit through the rows of abandoned buildings at an unfinished apartment complex.

“The government is broke,” said one local resident who watched the project falter from her shop across the street.

Building something is easy. You only need to follow the steps in the book. Maintaining what is built takes a lot of money. If you can’t do that, the building returns to dust rather quickly as we see now in China.

“Building something is easy.”

Obviously not easy enough for the idiotopians of The homeless; and priced out of competitiveness at anything; West.

Besides: Producers on ANY even remotely free market, invariably produce “more” than what was; in hindsight; strictly “required.” Only sillies gullible enough to fall for “five year planning” believe “throwing away” some eggs, phones, socks, buildings etc. is evidence of some form of every well indoctrinated simpleton’s favorite bogeyman: “Market Failure.”

In fact: Post hoc nominal “overproduction”; followed by price wars, fire sales, rent collapses, liquidations and hence flushing out of the weak and incompetent; is exactly what keeps free market costs lower, hence free markets more efficient and competitive; than ones planned and “overseen” by; and hence for the sole benefit of; deadweight apparatchiks, “investors” and unions.

Man; if only every company and engineer in what was once referred to as Silicon-; and now Realtor-; Valley, could pay no rent. While commuting on brand new, unused freeways etc…. Perhaps America could once again be competitive at something as well…

But instead: Incompetents are a Protected Class here. To such an extent that any potentially competent and productive American, is fleeced to the point where he can no longer compete. All in order to keep the deadweight leeches running this dump; and their favored groupies; in continued, always entirely unearned, splendor.

And hence, predictably, competence has now emigrated to China. Where it, as competence are wont to, builds stuff. As opposed to just sitting there idle as stuff built up by earlier generations, decay.

The failed assassination attempt isn’t just bad for Biden but for all the Democrat members who used any rhetoric or verbal imagery of targeting Trump, putting a bullseye on Trump or saying that Trump should have had his Secret Service protection withdrawn.
And it won’t just be a message about Trump but about the 3 innocent average Joes that were hit. Images of the dead guy, images of his funeral, images of his grieving family. Perhaps either of the 2 critically wounded will be on air from their hospital beds and looking at the camera and saying YOU did this to me FJB. Think that won’t resonate with those on the fence?

Heard from a buddy today he’s getting the ax because of the buddy system. After being the interim replacement for months and told he would be moved into the role, new vp did a 180 and hired a buddy from Google who hasn’t switched companies since 2004. Another case of the buddy system rather than meritocracy. Fortunately the company is headed in the toilet because of the buddy system. This California native can tell you Kamala is a “Progressive” which means communist. Or Socialist or Marxist; pick one, same outcome where the people have NO rights, no property, no freedoms. She quit her Presidential race in 2020 with a 96% disapproval rating in California. We hate her here. She co-authored the “Safe Neighborhoods & Schools” act which lowered the ceiling of shoplifting to $950.00, enabled writing bad checks, enabled receiving stolen property – and more on that bill. For “equity.”

She badmouthed Biden’s 1994 crime bill as racist, yet kept prisoners in jail longer to boost her “tough on crime” record – which isn’t tough at all. Remember that she bailed out rioters in 2020, then lied about it.

But they can’t propose anything. All they can do is sign what goes in front of them. They have zero power.

The Crown is the ultimate law of the land. The King’s word is law, he can still have you killed legally, this tends to motivate people to bringing forward laws sympathetic to the Crown.

Because the Rothschilds don’t sit on the throne, does that prevent them from bringing matters before the Crown likely to be viewed favorably?
Because the CIA doesn’t hold a single seat in the congress does that stop them from making laws?

Was a serious question. Obviously you aren’t hearing Biden who asked to turn the volume down with your heartless posts. I don’t have the problem.

Im sure at some point you had an original thought, but became too scared to voice your opinion. Give it a try.

Turn off the TV. You have no proof of this at all, other than what you’ve been brainwashed into believing. I’m not a fan of Trump, but actions matter and he did quite a bit for Americans.

ICYMI, the Democrats are the party of the KKK and Nazi-like rule, currently. Censorship, high taxes, dehumanizing people, (including the unborn), hatred for those who disagree, violence, genocide (remember Covid?), and open borders.

What gives you the idea that Americans love the royal family? To us they are just some well-dressed Brits who spend their time cutting ribbons in public and fornicating in private. Good for a laugh but that’s it.

FFS… Trump wins ALL of those states.

this election is OVER. DJT will win more than 335 electoral college votes.

but the Dems will cheat/steal the swing states !!!!

if they try this (again), they will get caught red-handed… and they would lose the election anyway – they can’t cheat their way around a landslide… they’d be foolish to even try it.

It does. A vote for Biden is a vote for President Harris because it is doubtful that Biden will make it another 6 months, let alone 4 years.

This is why all the black politicos and pundits on TV are all circling the wagons around Biden, why they are “ridein’ with Biden”. He has a short expiration date and once he is out of the picture, a DEI woman considered black and favorable to that demographic becomes president.

Proper review by a pro. Secret Service now demonstrably incompetent.
Thanks to the DEI hiring policies guess, **AND or complicit**.
“The Secret Service is supposed to secure all obvious “sniper perches” well before the arrival of a protectee – Meaning, nearby rooftops and buildings are supposed to have a security presence in place along with drone surveillance. In the case of Butler, PA, this was apparently not done. SS snipers were only present on the building right behind the venue stage.” https://www.zerohedge.com/political/massive-secret-service-failure-led-nearly-successful-assassination-donald-trump

A retired SS agent reminded us that Trump is no longer president. He gets the same amount of protection as Carter. Or at least he should. Trump aint the top banana for the moment. He’s just another 2nd layer protectee with a big mouth.

The head honchos are always allowed to use personal judgment in rationing out resources. If they can’t see that he is not only the obvious Republican candidate, but also the very likely winner, and adjust resources proportionately and accordingly, then that smacks of very high-level corruption.

Wait, you mean it’s not smart to put a couple of 5-3″ females on bodyguard duty for a 6′-3″ candidate shaped like a slightly-deflated football?

It was rather disturbing to see the one female secret service not be able to put her gun back in its holster and decided just to keep it in her hand (wise choice). Granted, it was a stressful time but that’s what training is for, for God’s sake. I taught scuba diving and I drilled into my students that if the reflex isn’t there to do things like recover your regulator (mouthpiece) you *will* die eventually. And then the three women lining up outside the SUV they put Trump into seemed to have less than no idea of what to do. It was also sort of a hoot to see the female agents trying to tote Trump off the stage. At 250 lbs, more or less, that’s a heavy lift even for a strong 6+ foot man made of muscles.

Contrast that with the video of Reagan being shot. The millisecond the shots rang out the secret service guy had his machine gun out and was scanning for someone to shoot like Joe Montana looking for someone to pass too once the pocket crumbled.

Affirmative action at work? I don’t doubt it. I got a NASA calendar for my kid today, of the 14 photos of astronomers only two were white men. I worked in astrophysics at NASA. That ain’t anywhere near the demographics of astronomers doing notable work. The agency I work for had an award last week for the ‘best work’ done by a Black person. How condescending. An insult to my black co-workers who do Class A work.

DEI is a total failure. Those 50,000 electric vehicle charging stations? Only 7 built. Why? DEI failed. https://committeetounleashprosperity.com/hotlines/the-mystery-of-bidens-missing-charging-stations-solved/

Not only that they panicked and didn’t know what to do. One couldn’t holster her weapon. One worried about her sunglasses and keeping her shirt straight and one spun around 3 times confused.

There are clear roles for men and women. Secret Service isn’t a job for emotional women.

As an ex-sailor, I was so disappointed to find out that the Navy is now being forced (by the “times”) to allow females on submarine crews. The. Worst. Idea.

SS could have saved money and bought a couple of cheap Turkish drones which have been marvelous in UKR. Its hard to believe that a guy was on a rooftop 150 yards away w/out being detected. Everyone in management there needs to be fired. If this was not MKUltra2.0, then the vitriol of Biden and the Dems needs to be looked into with a big, fat, unlubed colonoscopy. If it was MKUltra2.0, well …
