Biden on Student Debt Cancellation: “The Supreme Court Didn’t Stop Me”

President Biden is bragging the Supreme Court didn’t stop him from handing out still more inflationary free money.

Remarks by President Biden

Biden’s repeated flaunts of the Supreme Court show he believes himself to be above the law.

Please consider White House Remarks by President Biden at a Campaign Event in Las Vegas, NV.

We passed the American Rescue Plan, which put $1,400 into people’s pockets. (Applause.) And on top of that, they got a $300 check per child, per family, per month for hardworking families. (Applause.) Over 300,000 — there were 380,000 families in Nevada benefited until the — our friends on the other side wiped it out.

The Supreme Court of the United States blocked me, but they didn’t stop me. (Applause.) I found another way to help more than 3,700,000 people with $130 billion of relief and cou- –and counting.

There were several existing programs that the bureaucracy wasn’t pushing, including one of th- — it’s called Public Servants — like teachers, firefighters. Public Servants. (Applause.) So, I fixed the program to deliver relief for public servants — teachers, nurses, firefighters, social workers, and so on. (Applause.)

And guess what? Some of you are getting notices right now. You’re going to get another student cut. And this time, you’re going to not have any doubt about who sent it to you. It’s going to have my name on it: Biden. (Applause.) No, I mean it, because we got another $25 billion a year.

And guess what? It’s — not only is it a good thing to do, it drows [sic] the economy — it grows the economy. It’s not costing people. Guess what? When you’re able to eliminate that — how many of you have had your student debt eliminated? (Applause.)

Well, some of you had student debt eliminated for over $100,000.

AUDIENCE MEMBER:  That’s right!  Right here!

$130 Billion and Counting, Costs Nothing

There you have it folks, $130 billion with another $25 billion smack in the face of a smack down ruling by the Supreme Court, costs “nothing”.

And as a reelection campaign advertisement, the notice “is going to have my name on it: Biden.” Now, ain’t that special?

Here’s free money, now vote for me. And best of all, it doesn’t cost anything.

The Cost of Free Money

As Biden also touts clean energy that won’t cost anything, please note The True Costs of Net Zero Are Becoming Impossible to Hide

Also, note that while everyone is in disbelief of the amazing benefits of free money, Fed Chairman Jerome Powell Tells 60 Minutes US Fiscal Path is Unsustainable

Fed Chair Jerome Powell tells 60 Minutes that it’s “urgent” the US address its “Unsustainable Fiscal Path”

I list 15 key takeaways from the interview.

How Much Inflation Is Baked in the Cake?

Powell downplays the risk of inflation, but in the interview, he at least notes the risk.

Biden is in another alternate universe

For discussion, please see 2024 Inflation Outlook: How Much Inflation Is Baked in the Cake?

Here’s the key question: Is inflation transitory or is the recent year-over-year decline in the rate of inflation that’s transitory?

Biden is doing everything humanely possible to stoke inflation, and flouting the Supreme court to do so.

Students loan Jubilee for the poor and the middle class. 60% severance packages
for one year, for the unemployed elite, on 200K/300K annual salary ==> 180K for sitting at home playing video games, or traveling, spending money on fancy hotels and restaurants, while being on co payroll for additional 12 months. That’s on top of the unemployment checks.

These bastards in Washington never had to balance a budget in their lives. They are clueless. Jerome Powell was spot-on with his assessment that the US is on an unsustainable trajectory due to unconstrained spending. We are doomed. Our leaders need to learn some 4th grade arithmetic.

There ain’t no such thing as free money. Every penny of that $230Billion Joe is “giving away” will roll back up into our $34Billion dollar national debt. Additional comment: When money becomes FREE it also becomes worthless.

In other news today a federal appeals court ruled against Trump on Jan 6th case. This means we will now get a hearing at the supreme court..I predict Trump loses there as well and has to testify under oath. They have his text messages already. Trump will be in serious legal jeopardy by late spring to summer. I predict he will stil be the nominee for Republican party come summer as this is why he’s removed Ronna McDaniel bur.the nomination may be up in the air still causing more chaos. Biden will coast to a victory bc of all this as many republican voters simply stay home. The factors that have predicted every presidential election are still in favor of Biden and will be because of the chaos Trump has wrought on the Republican party.. it has shades of 1996 Clinton vs dole written all over it.

Fwiw this is one of few guys that accurately predicted Trump would win in 2016. The.experts ridiculed him despite his prescient predictions for many election cycles. The model bears following to see if he will ever be wrong.

Oddly I am surprised mish didn’t use the WSJ or Fortune article describing how Biden (or any president) could have done this. They are loopholes to be sure but it does mean better lives for people. It’s like rhe costanza human fund. Money for people.

The problem is better lives for some must come at the expense of worse lives for others (someone as in tax payers aren’t getting paid back).

Why should the president get to pick winners and losers instead of letting the actual real world do it (ie save, work hard, don’t over reach get ahead while those who don’t fail).

In essence loan forgiveness is essentially winning the lottery because all those who paid theirs back or never took loans in the first place are paying for those who won the lottery.

Agreed. Like Joe Sixpack complained to Pocahontas (Elizabeth Warren) about working 2 jobs to send his daughter to college. The daughter had no debts to be forgiven because her dad busted his ass to pay her tuition. Elizabeth Warren’s response as to why no relief for the working dad….”Tough luck”

Biden has turned into (or maybe always was) everything that he accused Trump of being. He (or rather the Dems) ran on him being a middle ground candidate who spent his career playing by and following the rules.

Instead he’s turned into a petulant child in every way that Trump was when he wanted to flout the law, the courts, congress/senate etc.

4 more years of this guy is going to be a disaster for this country because he (or rather the far left Dems) is going to continue these nutty policies. There will be plenty (on here and in this country) who think Trump will be worse but I suspect Donald will just be happy spending 4 years looking in the mirror basking in his awesomeness, holding MAGA rallies and tweeting about it. All while doing nothing other than closing the border and talking a good game about deals he can make (peace, economic etc) but won’t deliver on (blocked in Congress and/or Senate). Believe it or not, Donald doing just that for 4 years would let the markets start to fix things.

“Biden’s repeated flaunts of the Supreme Court show he believes himself to be above the law.”

Nancy Pelosi isn’t complaining, or any other Democrat. It’s that double standard thing that Democrats have. It’s actually helping Trump lead in some of the pre-election polls.

> Isn’t He?

While it is obvious this guy has lost it, it appears as though he is now simply regurgitating talking points. This is why he looks like a lost child, immediately after going off script. I bet if you got him alone in a corner, and starting talking policies with him, he would just give you a blank stare!

With that being said, Old Joe is still potentially very dangerous to America and Himself, based upon what I see and hear in the news.

No, that would be Ronald Reagan in the 20th Century that started the debt mess, Star Wars and unaffordable defense budgets, tax cuts for corporations and the privileged few while raising taxes on the rest euphemistically called trickle down economics, more members of his administration arrested than any other in US history for scandals.

In the 19th Century James Buchanan is even worse than Reagan since he contributed by his feckless acts to advance the cause of the South thereby handing off to Lincoln a divided nation.

One sector or class handout is another sector’s or class’ subsidy.

FDR saved capitalism by reforming it and was the critical leader in WW II that saved the world from fascism.

Open up a history book. The Great Depression effects caused by the excesses in the 20s of GOP speculation, wealth concentration, and easy credit were ameliorated in the 30s by the Democrats and FDR.

WW II was caused by Italian, German and Japanese fascism, nationalism and jingoistic polities. In the case of Germany WW I allies in Europe were unable to pay off to US banksters their pre WW I debt thus forcing the U.K. and France to demand reparations from Germany. This was all prior to FDR.

Will blatant Executive Branch vote buying make up for the regime’s cumulative 25% inflation, endless battlefield disasters and completely avoidable foreign entanglements, forced mRNA injections with tons of deaths and injuries and first responder professionals fired, a purposeful and treasonous dismantling of sovereignty everywhere possible, and corruption on an apocalyptic scale?

That’s a lot…

– Military age men in the thousands crossing the border every day.
> In excellent looking shape, and possibly trained? Perfect for “No-Go Zones”
– Forgive student loans.
> Unconstitutional.
– Government is bankrupt with $34 trillion of debt.
> It’s for the children, er wrong one… it’s the right thing to, er too much emotion… I give.
– Unemployment is 3.7 percent.
> What rotten scoundrel gave you that number? Did they have 2 eyes? Heartbeat? Hmm..
– Number of full-time workers is less than a year ago.
> So are the number of real jobs, and not ads placed as placeholders, but I digress…
