Stay warm, a Deep Freeze Grips Midwest With Record-Breaking Low Temperatures.
Surges of cold polar air are blasting the Midwest with the lowest temperatures in years, set to last until the end of the week. Temperatures in Chicago could drop to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 29 Celsius) for the first time since the mid-1990s.
“I cannot stress how dangerously cold it will be,” said Mike Doll, senior meteorologist for AccuWeather. “An entire generation has gone by without experiencing this type of cold in the Chicago area.”
The National Weather Service said a “potentially record-breaking push” of Arctic air will bring wind chills as low as minus 40 degrees to the Northern Plains and Great Lakes areas by Wednesday. That’s the day Chicago is forecast to see its lowest daily high temperature ever — minus 12, beating the record of minus 11 set in 1994.

If you elect to travel in these conditions, make sure you dress warm and the battery in you car is a good one.

Not as cold as the cold spell we had in the detroit area in the early 80’s . High -13. 4 years ago we had a low of -16… I remember it well because I had to take my wife for tests @ 6:30 AM. The weather is getting sensationalized on both extremes. Big swings are normal.
Chicago will have to sell flannel underware by the R-factor.
Woo woo, winter, I can remember many times when the low temp was -20 when I used to live in northern Illinois. In northern Michigan it happens every winter.
I’m curious if Tesla’s still work at this temperature and for how long.
Must be strange that everywhere in the world is on fire except for the Eastern half of the US, where a lot of big decisions get made. All this with a sun that has today almost zero sunspots, which cools the sun. And how about China sending almost all the CO2 in to the air trying to keep the electricity on. No wonder there are no political answers here. There are no answers here .. period!
“The six days from January 12 to 17 are all within Australia’s ten hottest days on record, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology said. “
Those without small minds and with large pocketbooks are beginning to worry.
Barrons is on thin ice if you ask me…
Too cold – global warming
Too hot – global warming
Too rainy – global warming
To little rain – global warming
Hurricanes – global warming
No hurricanes – global warming
All solutions require massive government regulations, massive tax increases and banning stuff.
Where is global warming?
We had 82 in Thousand Oaks yesterday!
