Do You Support Bussing Illegal Immigrants to D.C. and Dropping Them Off?

When I first heard this story I thought it was sarcasm or a temporary publicity stunt. But it’s ongoing. Here are the details involving New York City and D.C.

USA Today reports ‘Make my day’: Texas Gov. Abbott challenges NYC Mayor Adams over migrant busing dispute

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is firing back at New York City Mayor Eric Adams after he threatened to send bus loads of New Yorkers to Texas to campaign against Abbott’s re-election bid.

“I kind of feel like Clint Eastwood. Go ahead, Mayor. Make my day,” Abbott publicly declared Wednesday.

The dueling politicians have gone back and forth since the Lone Star State began busing migrants from the Texas-Mexico border to the Big Apple on Aug. 5.

Texas ranchers urge Gov. Abbott to keep bussing migrants to DC: ‘Small taste’ of what we’ve dealt with

Fox News reports Texas ranchers urge Gov. Abbott to keep bussing migrants to DC: ‘Small taste’ of what we’ve dealt with

No Plan for What’s Next

NPR reports GOP governors sent buses of migrants to D.C. and NYC — with no plan for what’s next

For months now, the governors of Texas and Arizona have been sending charter buses full of migrants and refugees to Washington, D.C.’s Union Station, just a few blocks from the Capitol building.

When they disembark, they find neither the local nor federal government there to meet them.

According to Abbott’s office, more than 6,100 migrants have been bused to D.C. from Texas alone. They arrive six days a week, as early as 6 a.m. and as late as 11 p.m. — sometimes multiple buses each day.

And on Friday, Abbott said the first bus had arrived in New York City.

The Texas Tribune reports How Gov. Greg Abbott exported a border crisis to New York City

When he appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” last week, Gov. Greg Abbott kept smiling.

Four months prior, he had announced that the state of Texas was planning to bus migrants from near the Texas-Mexico border to Washington, D.C., a move that drew mixed reviews — even among conservatives — and soon fell off the political radar. But then New York City Mayor Eric Adams began raising alarms about the impact on his city.

“This just shows the hypocrisy of these liberal leaders up in the northeast who think, ‘That border crisis created by Joe Biden, that’s fine as long as Texas has to deal with it,’” Abbott told the host, Sean Hannity. “But as soon as they have to deal with the real consequences of Biden’s border-caused crisis, they are up in arms.”

Washington, DC Mayor Asks US Military for 90 Days of Help With Illegal Immigrants

Finally, please consider Washington, DC Mayor Asks US Military for 90 Days of Help With Illegal Immigrants

Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser on Aug. 11 renewed her call for U.S. military assistance to deal with the surge of illegal immigrants the nation’s capital has encountered after governors of border states began busing the immigrants to the city.

The initial request for National Guard assistance from Bowser, a Democrat, was rejected by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, a Biden appointee, earlier in August.

Instead of asking for an open-ended deployment, Bowser in the new request asked for 90 days of help, with a proposed reevaluation of the mission on Dec. 1.

If approved, Guard personnel would provide logistical support to the Washington government, helping establish and manage new sites to house and feed the illegal immigrants.

“The Guard is uniquely resourced to provide emergency logistical support,” Bowser wrote.

That’s what’s going on.

Question: Is interstate transportation of illegal immigrants itself legal? The answer appears to be yes.

Is so, does it change your answer?

Controlled legal immigration is what defined America. This wanton, wholly uncontrolled illegal flood is just another signal of America’s decline. All supporters of open borders should have randomly selected illegal immigrants assigned to live with them. This nonsense would almost immediately stop.

So long as they tell the migrants where the bus is going, why would anyone have a problem with this? It’s a public service to the immigrants. I personally think they should have a bus terminal with regular departures to destination cities in various regions of the country. Perhaps one daily bus each to places like Boston, New York, Chicago, DC, LA, SF, Portland, and Seattle. Even without buses, immigrants will eventually choose where they want to settle, so why not offer buses, and make it easier for them to get there? Texas can put together travel brochures talking about the virtues of each city and region so that people can choose a place they would like, and they will be happier in the end, knowing what to expect.

While I am a strong supporter of legal immigration, this seemingly unmitigated flood of “refugees” across our borders is unsustainable and has severe impacts on our border states in particular. The federal government is not doing enough and the governor of Texas is doing everything he can to raise awareness of this issue. These migrants have already travelled hundreds and thousands of miles, many of them by foot. I don’t believe bussing them up to sanctuary cities in air conditioned motor coaches is abusive at all. Let the democratic governors of New York and Washington DC try to convince the Biden administration that the open borders are ridiculous immigration policy. Obviously, California and New Mexico won’t.

One of the biggest causes of the next great depression is a an aging population that’s not getting replaced with newborns. So while the largest generation in the USA is retiring and collecting on the welfare programs that they’ve paid into their whole life, very few people are having kids to replace them. This causes a lack of inbound taxes while the USA is required to pay out more than ever to SS, Medicare, and every other social program. This is why I think our government doesn’t want to stop illegal immigration. Especially from a culture who values large families and good work ethics. I also think they won’t do a blanket amnesty for a long while because they tend to break less laws when they are trying not to get caught.
So what to do? If you can’t fight em’, join em’.
Hire them to wash your cars, clean your homes, work around the house, laundry, landscape, ect. Then lie about it and act like they were 100% legal and insured. It’s what our politicians do.

NY can’t even barge garbage anywhere.

Suddenly, the New York City Garbage Barge was banned by six states and two foreign nations.

In early may, trashman Harrelson instructed the Break of Dawn to anchor 5 miles off Key West so the barge’s cargo could be inspected by the federal Environmental Protection Agency and he could ponder his next move.

Federal agents in protective suits and breathing gear swarmed aboard the Mobro, swatted aside the flies and began to root through the bales in search of leakage, toxics, corrosives or combustibles. “It’s ordinary garbage,” sighed Break of Dawn first mate David Soto. That’s certainly what it appeared to be, reporters verified: old clothes, carpet scraps, magazines, foam rubber, car tires. “It didn’t smell as bad as our local landfill,” said one Key West scribe.

Certified toxic-free, the garbage barge now headed back north again. But by now nobody wanted it anyway. Even New Jersey wouldn’t take it at this point.

I live in Arizona. It costs about $80,000 per bus trip to send people to D.C. In the first 3 months of the program (according to an August 9 news stories,) the State has spent > $3,000,000. Supposedly all the people wanted to get to destinations on the East Coast and are taking the trip voluntarily. It’s a stunt in that the destinations are D.C. and New York, to “punish” the Democratic administrations of those cities. It’s not as if the State of Arizona is spending huge amounts of $ on housing or feeding them in-state. But the State has a huge surplus so they need to spend it on something.
Another project, announced the day after Senator Kelly said gaps in the border fence near Yuma were going to be closed by the feds, is the State filling those gaps with Conex containers topped with razor wire. The goal is to close 3000 feet of gaps and they’ve already been stacking for two days.

There have been scores of reports (including interviews and video) of clandestine, furtive, stealth middle of the night transportation of illegal aliens by air all through the US to dump them in small communities, often working with Catholic and other bleeding heart charities. DHS and the government are doing it, so it all depends on what you mean by ‘legal’.

The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

The facts support migration. #1 white Americans are not procreating enough to prevent the demographic collapse that is about to consume China, Japan and Europe over the next 25 years. Moreover, migration has always been the way the US has prospered, ever since European migrants genocided native Americans.

Texas, along with other blue states regularly send their homeless on one way trips to San Francisco and Hawaii. I know. I live in both places. Busing migrants out of Texas is a symptom of a much larger problem. We have a wide open border and the political class doesn’t care. ICE subbed out border security to the drug and child rape traffickers at the border.
NO PLANS FOR WHAT’S NEXT – I AGREE! – That’s the problem. We have lofty goals for immigration and green energy among other things. Great. But we have no idea how to execute. As a result we do stupid things like shipping migrants across the country instead of limiting access at the border. We burn less efficient forms of energy instead of embracing natural gas and nuclear energy. We just stumble from crises to crises.
I don’t blame Texas for shipping migrants to NY and DC. The only way to get Washington to fix the problem is for it to show up at their front door. They love migrants as long as they are someone else’s problem.

Quite clearly, you do not understand what is happening in Texas. Every day thousands cross the river into the US. Some are met by Border Patrol. They are not allowed (by Biden’s Exec. Order) to send them back across the border. Instead, the illegal immigrants are recorded and given a date to appear before an immigration court judge to press claims for asylum. Most will disappear until they are arrested for other crimes. Women will deliver babies asap to have them qualify as dreamers, so the family gets to stay in the US.
Some (mostly kids/families) are flown to other cities. The vast majority of border crossers are young males. Some go to NGOs operating in Texas/Arizona who put them on buses to the city of their choice.
Border crossers not apprehended by Border Patrol just disappear in the US. They do not claim anything except public benefits like education. They seldom, if ever, pay their way.

The solution is not to end immigration – this country thrives on immigrants. Everyone who is not Native American is an immigrant. The issue is to deal with the flow. Trump has a lousy approach – based on hate. We need to invest in the infrastructure that is needed to manage the flow. Some of that is creating jobs and stability in those countries people are, for darn good reason, fleeing. Hate gets us nowhere – it is a sickness that is eating us out from the inside.

You, sir, are in looney tunes land. Our country already has about 15 different types of work visas. We don’t need more immigrants. We need border enforcement. In Biden’s first two years in office, he’s going to let in approach 4M undocumented aliens. And, he hasn’t even ended title 42 yet. America would be in a much better place had Reagan not done amnesty and had chosen to secure the border in his last two years in office. Instead, we have massive numbers of illegals running around, some but certainly not all are bringing rungs & crime to the streets of America.

Many of my “progressive” friends and family members are actually not very talented or bright people. They have few marketable skills and it is often hard to follow their line of logic. Because of their underclass station of life, they gravitate to policies that ensure that their are sufficient people in the population pool who are less bright and talented then they are. Also exploited people are the only way they can afford the goods; and in particular the services they desire.

In regards to the sending of immigrants to NYC and DC with “no plan for what is next,” the border areas are overrun and out of resources. We know a couple living in a Texas border city (the wife is a legal immigrant from Mexico) and they say there is a massive strain on their resources. The immigrants often come here with nothing and no actual specific plan of what is next.

If it is illegal to ship immigrants, we’ll it is also illegal to obstruct federal agents from enforcing federal laws and that is what a lot of these sanctuary cities and states do. They don’t just not enforce the immigration laws they obstruct federal agents doing so.
On both sides we have no adults and they’re all hypocrites. This is what we get.

Didn’t read the story, but i came across a headline that said NY governor Hochul wanted something done about illegal immigration. I’m guessing it is now negatively affecting her state.
As far as Texas busing of illegal immigrants to D.C. and dropping them on Bowser’s doorstep, the federal government has been surreptitiously
dropping them off in towns all over the country, with no concern for the consequences to those communities, not to mention the consequences border towns are suffering from the influx, due to Biden’s policy.
Those bused from Texas to DC: “When they disembark, they find neither the local nor federal government there to meet them.”
This wouldn’t be happening if Biden was enforcing U.S. immigration law.

Below are the top three Priorities for Immigration. Southern border immigrants have NONE of these attributes.

  • First priority level (E1):
    • Outstanding scientists, men of science, education, sports,
or business with official confirmation of demand and merit in the
professional field at the local or international level.
    • International professors and researchers with at least a three-year teaching or research experience.
  • Second priority level (E2):
    • Talented people with a scientific degree (bachelor’s degree
or higher) with at least 5-year proven outstanding professional
      activity.
    • Talented scientists, businesspersons, and artists with a level
of competence bordering on genius, which means of much higher than the
standard level of proficiency in the subject. In some cases, people
of this category do not even need an employer’s application to obtain
a work visa. This group accounts for about 30% of the annual quotas for
      labor immigration.
  • Third priority level (E3):
    • Highly qualified representatives of professions that require
at least 2 years of training (important condition: the work performed
by this group of people must be non-seasonal and permanent).
    • Representatives of professions that require a degree, starting from an American bachelor’s degree and its foreign equivalents.
    • Representatives of professions that are in demand in the American
labor market, that need at least 2 years of training. In this case, the
skill level does not matter but the nature of the work performed must
      be permanent and not seasonal.

FJB is going to let so many millions of low-skilled illegals into the country in his only term in office that we won’t ever need to let a single LEGAL low-skilled immigrant into the country every again. With automation continuing to kick in, it’s mind boggling how bad things are going to get for these low-skilled workers in about 10-15 years. And if things are bad for the, it gets worse for actual citizens.
There’s absolutely ZERO downside to building a near impenetrable border wall along the southern border, unless you’re a Democrat trying to rig elections.

People who cross the southern border do not build much of anything, except gangs.

Andrew Yang isn’t a bad guy, but he had several contradictions. On one hand he said we needed to keep letting in and make it easier to let in low skill workers as immigrants, while simultaneously saying that in terms of AI and automation this time is different and we’ll have massive amounts of unemployed people in the near future so we need a UIB program to off set this permanent unemployment about to fall upon low skill people.

There is absolutely no reason for citizens of border states to take on the full burden of illegal aliens. One of the intolerable acts England imposed on American colonies was to house and quarter troops. I see the decisions by Congress and POTUS to be equally intolerable. Border states need to fight back. Busing these burdens to states that asked for open borders is humane and the best way to make a point.

Conveying illegal immigrants to Chicago would be cruel and unusual punishment.

They are not receiving any aid here in Texas. They are being dumped off in the middle of towns and cities in Texas and left to fend for themselves. So what is the issue? When they get on the bus they know exactly where they are being sent, there is no pretense here. They are free to roam at will. We are just giving them an assist.

Please add California cities to the list.
Anyway to get a train to carry more? You could drop off 100’s at various cities along the way! But save the mother load for DC and New York.

Excellent plans. Can you think of how Britain can deal with the illegals coming over the Channel? I guess we need to bus them back to Paris via the Tunnel? I will send this excellent report to our Zombie Government and my MP (who is MIA at present due to corruption charges). Nothing changes in UK either; Read the sad stories here:

Entry allowed only after permanent sterilization. At least it would get the rape situation under control.

Don’t just send a few thousands, send that every day. And NYC bus terminal should not be the drop off location but anywhere in the state. The Hamptons, Westchester, 5th Avenue. Also prioritise sending the worse. Drop a bus load of men covered in prison tattoos outside the gates to a nice school. If anyone thinks they shouldn’t be dropped outside a school then they should never have been released by Immigration in the first place.

Nah, put the 20 bluest cities of the 20 bluest states on the list and give the undocumented residents their choice of those cities. Ship thousands/day until a court orders you to stop (likely they can’t, so just keep doing it).
