Hooray! A Two-Week TACO, Equity and Gold Futures Surge, Oil Plunges

I am pleased to report the “death of a whole civilization” has been postponed.

All Military Objectives Already Achieved

Truth Social: Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East. We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Looking Stupid

Shocking Not

Who Wrote What?

Conditions

Trump’s Original Conditions

What’s Really in the Deal?

The current two-week pause is framed as a temporary de-escalation to enable diplomacy, not a full resolution. Both sides have a history of mistrust, with Iran stressing it will only accept terms meeting its conditions.

Short answer. Iran’s civilization will not die tonight. Thankfully. Otherwise, it’s another pack of Trump lies.

Trump says: “We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. “

The notion that almost all of the points of past contention have been agreed to is a direct lie unless Trump agreed to …

  • Guarantee against future attacks.
  • Lift sanctions.
  • Regional de-escalation.
  • Agree to economic reparations or sovereignty elements (e.g., related to the Strait of Hormuz).

If Trump indeed agreed to that, it’s not as good a deal as Obama negotiated.

Still More on the Deal

Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi says safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz “will be possible via coordination with Iran’s Armed Forces and with due consideration of technical limitations.”

But hey, Trump’s lies are preferable to Trump’s warnings “Whole Civilization Will Die Tonight … God Bless Iran!”

If you thought Trump’s war crime threats would not get worse, you were wrong.

because we’re idiots here, you see….

JD VANCE SAYS IRAN & U.S AGREED TO A DIFFERENT 10 POINT PLAN

“The first 10 point proposal we think, frankly, was probably written by CHATGPT that was submitted to Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner. That immediately went the GARBAGE and was rejected!”

“I’ve seen a lot of reporting from the American media about the 10 point proposal. That the Iranians have made!”

“There are 3 different 10 point proposals, at least that I’ve seen floating around.”

“There was a second 10 point proposal that was much more reasonable that was based on some back and forth between us between the Pakistanis and that is the 10 point proposal that the President referenced in his TRUTH yesterday.”

“And then frankly, I’ve seen a third 10 point proposal that’s even more maximalist than the first 10 point proposal that’s been floating around various social media channels.”

I enjoy watching Trump cult members come here and do one of three things:

1. Beg Mish to stop talking about Trump and focus on “economics” only to be ignored.
2. Defend anything and everything Trump does only to watch it blow up in their faces literarlly minutes, hours, or days after doing so.
3. Pretend their feelings aren’t hurt when Trump is called out for his stupidity day in and day out then come here and write comments like, “watching you guys is fun…” then close the door and scream and cry because of the ridicule.

Oh and bonus, create a new bogus handle to hide their true identity but often we all know who you are if you post here regularly because you can’t escape yourself or your patterns.

Well, it looks as if we are all having fun, then, doesn’t it? All you silly people should keep in mind that this is real, that there has been a real war in Persia and that there is still a real war in the Ukraine, and that real people are getting killed, tortured, lied to, intimidated.

Trump is trying to reduce that a little bit. Socialists, religious people and various other kinds of idiots are trying to increase it, knowingly or unknowingly. Stupidity matters.

Yes. Trump is “trying to reduce” the killing. After killing thousands of innocent women and children in Iran, he follows that up with this quote:

“A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again”

And you support this genocidal maniac. I hope you enjoy spending eternity in hell with him.

Just so everyone is clear what Trump says is a workable solution, from Gemini as of now

Following recent escalations and a five-week conflict, Tehran released a 10-point plan through Pakistani mediators today aimed at securing a ceasefire with the U.S. and its allies.
The 10 Key Points include:
1. Mutual Non-Aggression: A guarantee of non-aggression from both sides and U.S. acceptance of Iran’s uranium enrichment program.
2. Strait of Hormuz Control: Continued Iranian dominance and “controlled passage” through the Strait, coordinated with Iran’s Armed Forces.
3. Regional De-escalation: An end to the war on all fronts, including hostilities involving groups like Hezbollah.
4. U.S. Withdrawal: The removal of U.S. combat forces from all bases and deployment points in the region.
5. UN Resolution Termination: The termination of all previous UN Security Council and Board of Governors resolutions against Iran.
6. Secure Transit Protocols: Establishment of new transit rules for the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian terms.
7. War Reparations: Full payment of damages to Iran based on current estimates.
8. Sanctions Relief: Immediate removal of all primary and secondary sanctions.
9. Asset Release: The release of all blocked Iranian properties and financial assets abroad.
10. Legal Binding: A requirement that all terms be ratified via a binding UN Security Council resolution.

Anyone who thinks Trump got a deal needs to have their head checked!

There is no actual ceasefire. There is chaos, arguably worse now than before the “ceasefire”. The markets are totally manipulated. You can’t have better market outcomes, when things have demonstrably taken a turn for the worse. I have no idea how oil prices could fall 15% under these circumstances.

Trump can stop bombing, and has stopped bombing, hasn’t he? That is some kind of ceasefire. The Persians can dig themselves out from under the rubble, make alternative arrangements to travel where bridges have been destroyed, reconnect power lines, start power plants, hospitals, and what have you working again. They will probably give priority to getting the police stations functional so they can go on torturing and murdering their own people, but they will probably have to limit their participation in violence and mayhem elsewhere for a while. Now if the Israelis could be persuaded to do the same…….

Latest Update:
Iran has told regional mediators its participation in talks with U.S. officials in Islamabad is conditional on a cease-fire in Lebanon, warning it might also reverse its decision on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, people familiar with the matter said.
Iranian mediators have also warned they would continue to carry out attacks on regional countries, including Israel, if attacks on Lebanon and Iran by Israel continue, they said.

Best case scenario for today: Trump declares “mission accomplished” and says the war is over – we leave the Middle East and Iran and Israel can go back to bombing each other. Hopefully Bibi is person non-grata around the White House because Trump will know he’s he was conned into this – and US is done propping up the insane religious cultists in Tel Aviv.

If you think the war is over, think again. Iran has not agreed to a ceasefire. They have agreed to stop retaliating as long as Israel and the US stop their attacks. So that ball is in the West’s corner. Despite the White House claim that the Strait of Hormuz is now open for business, it is not. Iran will continue to allow ships on a case-by-case basis to enter and leave the Persian Gulf after paying a cover charge. Iran will split this money with Oman. If Iran charges a million dollars — payable in Chinese Yuan — they will earn an estimated $96 billion a year.

Things to consider

If real peace is agreed to, “normal” will return in 6 to 9 months, maybe years for things like helium

Notice the war paused when AI targets were mentioned (who really controls Trumps heart? brotech or Israel)

Ships will leave the Gulf but not enter until a solid peace agreement

Israel is a ticking time-bomb in the whole deal

There is no reservoir of trust to build an agreement–two weeks is a ludicrously short time-line to build anything durable

Time is the greatest friend to Iran (“damnit, just give them what they want” with the sound of Israel screaming threats in the background)

After spending $200 billion of US taxpayers dollars, Trump unconditionally surrenders to Iran. After murdering the existing leadership, a more radical one takes over. Iran can continue purifying uranium, they get to charge for ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz (permanently increasing the cost of petroleum), the US has to pull its bases out of the ME and end all sanctions! This is what happens when we let our MAGA neighbors, brain-damaged by Fox News, have the right to vote. This marks the end of American world hegemony and even basic respect for the USA. The world and the US would have been better off if Trump had just kept Obama’s treaty in force. And our idiot MAGA neighbors will keep voting Republican. No wonder Trump “loves the uneducated”.

Here is a 1978 commercial from the Democrat party that many of us remember fondly:

“Look for the union label”
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pt-JPCXHQFg

And here is a recent commercial from the illegal immigrant party:

“Make sure you apply for WIC benefits, in spanish language”
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qXnnZpxplO8&pp=ygUgRm9vZCBzdGFtcCBjb21tZXJjaWFsIGluIHNwYW5pc2jSBwkJxAGjtWo3m0M%3D

1978 emphasized hard work by US citizens. Now, ithe Democrat focus emphasizes drawing/providing as much welfare as possible, specifically for illegal immigrants. My, how times have changed.

Like Joe Rogan and Elon Musk, I was a “vote the party” Democrat until about a decade ago. The Democrat party has experienced an insurrection/overthrow by lunatics.

It should be obvious now that Trump is just another, more corrupt, puppet of the “tiny hat” monetary masters and MIC. Hedge accordingly, because the rest of the world certainly is. More and more deals being made to facilitate trade in anything but the Federal Reserve Note. The old crowd will understand when I say; “Jump you fuckers!”

Now, about the cost of fertilizer and diesel?

These prices hurt and have reduced planting for the corn/soy crops in the US, Argentina, Brazil etc. Can’t imaging how bad it would be to be a farmer in India where fertilizer is simply not available when application is necessary for rice.

We live in interesting times.

Two weeks to negotiate. Iran’s 10 point list is impossible for Israel or the Gulf states to agree to. The US list is impossible for Iran to agree to.

This will be the third round of “negotiations”. The US and Israel attacked Iran during each of the first two rounds of “negotiations”. Will this be a threepeat? Another carrier group is on its way to the gulf, as are more marines.

I highly doubt that the conflict will be resolved in the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, the uncertainty will remain an anchor on the world economy. Will shipowners risk exiting, or entering the Gulf through the strait? Will insurance companies provide insurance? Will Iran allow very many ships in or out? Will they charge a fee? Iran is still telling shipowners to get permission or be destroyed.

It will be fascinating to watch how many ships transit the strait per day over the next two weeks. The normal rate is 90-100 ships per day. Recently it was 3-5 ships per day; mostly Iranian.

Even if the number of ships went back to 100 per day, starting tomorrow, it will take 3-6 months to get oil, and other critical items back up to normal flows. And even with true peace (unlikely), we may never get back to 100 ships, as people look for alternatives to supplies from the gulf.

If there is peace, Oil production will take 6-12 months to return to pre war levels. Natural gas flows will take 3-5 years to return to normal levels. The impact on the world economy is not over.

I would definitely fade this market rally. Looking forward to a short but sharp correction in oil stocks to buy back much of what I have been selling over the last 5 weeks.

It sure doesn’t look like anything has changed, except that the orange man chickened out. I don’t see how or why the Iranians are going to back down on any demands, whereas Trump has to due to energy markets. I agree this isn’t over and it wont be two weeks before the Trump crazy talk starts up again

Yes.

I expect shipowners to eventually get their ships out of the gulf. 800 stranded ships, including 250 oil tankers, will leave once they feel safe to do so. That could take a month or more.

However, I do not expect them to send ships back into the gulf, until they truly believe the risk is over.

PapaDave, you have a talent for expressing the state of things accurately and concisely. Agree, that it is impossible for the parties to reach agreement in two weeks, especially with Israel actively seeking to sabotage the negotiations.

What oil stocks are you looking at buying, if you don’t mind saying?

Canadian oil stocks mostly. Longest and largest reserves, lowest cost of production, in a safe location. Many will now be takeover targets as well, though that is not important to me.

Canadian Natural, Suncor, Imperial, Cenovus, Whitecap, Tamarack, and Cardinal are some of my favorites.

The President to date, has been accused of overreach, Violations, impoundment of funds, and a disregard for Federal law. There may be a few more less tantalizing accusations as well.

Ironically, the President has been charged for Zero Offenses, because they are bogus, trumped up, and falsely accused pipe dreams of the Democrats. After taking him to court, over and over again for what? Hundreds of times already, and nothing sticks.

The simple truth, is that you have to actually break a law, and not just be accused of doing so. Let me know when one sticks will you…

This is true, which is why the ‘deal’ will fall apart quickly. There is no deal, only a promise to talk about Iran’s 10-point plan.

At this point the main thing Trump cares about is keeping the strait open. Israel, however, wants the wars to continue (including the seizing of territory in Lebanon), and in an environment with very little trust it will not be difficult for them to blow up the ceasefire.

“A big day for World Peace! Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else! The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process. We’ll be loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just “hangin’ around” in order to make sure that everything goes well. I feel confident that it will. Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the Golden Age of the Middle East!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

I’m going to predict the following.

The Excursion is over.

Drumpf desperately wants this to end, so it will end.

Israel will be brought to heal. There may be cease fire breaks, there often are at the end of wars (excuse me, Excursions), but in general it will hold.

Hard to predict what will happen in secondary places like Lebanon. Lebanon is the 21st century Belgium – wrong place, wrong time. Awful to be a people who get stuck like that but drumpf doesn’t care about them.

From drumpfs perspective – Everything is ok with Iran, they will rebuild, and he will pretend that it was always the plan. He’ll do a victory lap and claim that destroying their useless Air Force and Navy was a great thing. He’ll have done some real damage to their Air Defenses and ballistic missiles, but only a fool would think that was worth it. Especially if Iranian leadership is given free reign (not free rain) to rebuild their defenses, esp their drones, BMs, and Air Defenses. No progress on nukes and he replaced old hard line regime withe new hard line regime. At the direct cost of $50B to $200B depending on what $ value you use.

Drunk Pete will be sidelined and his Crusader holy war nonsense will be sidelined. Expect to hear less from him in the coming days and weeks. Maybe we’ll be lucky and he will get deservedly shit canned like ice barbie and blonde barbie. I can only hope that the military will be able to recover from this idiocracy and eventually get run again by sane leadership.

There won’t be another ME issue for at least a year. God help us but maybe we’ll have something of a relevant cease fire for a while, and maybe all players will decide to pull back from the brink.

The Iranian leadership will survive in its current form for the near, if not long term future. The average Iranian citizen will continue to suffer from a terrible regime for the indefinite future. There will be unrest and frequent uprisings and discontent, but the opposition will continue to be ineffectual. I’m sorry for the average Iranian citizen, but I don’t see the calvary coming over the hill anytime soon (sorry, drunk Pete, your Holy Crusade is not in the works). The leadership will get many concessions in the emerging peace, possibly long-term ability to charge tolls on passage through the ‘fuckin strait’, no change in nuke status, no change in leadership, possible sanction lifting, and possible other concessions. This will all play out between the next 2 weeks to 3 months.

Was it worth it? You be the judge, but my vote is no.

I would have to agree with most of your predictions. They are reasonable expectations to occur.

Was it worth it? I say 100% as Iran was extremely close to Nuclear Capabilities. If what we were being told by the Administration is accurate, and I see no reason why we would go to war if it wasn’t.

The utter devastation to parts of the World, if that capability did exist. The chance for an all out Nuclear Holocaust as a result of the first launch perhaps. Dirty bombs showing up across the Globe.

One could say, that we potentially saved the World a massive cluster F of epic proportions…

They are charging huge tolls now. Ships cannot come and go “as they please.” They still are militarily controlling the strait. Economic damage is still playing out. Which is ironic, as “war of aggression” was one of the charges against the Nazi’s at Nuremberg

They are now militarily controlling the strait and collecting tolls. And the world knows that they have the ability to close it whenever they want. This is what Trump’s war got you: a situation dramatically worse than before it started. And it cost us billions of dollars and a lot of injured or dead soldiers. TACO! The USA squanders the advantage and opportunity yet again because its politicians are mainly wimps who fear the world public wagging their collective fingers, fear a bit of economic pain and fear the possible loss of any military lives (that’s the risk you sign up for as a soldier).

This is why I look forward to humanoid AI Terminators on the battlefield in the next 2-5 years.

If we had this technology working right now, we could have done a Genghis Khan on Iran. Send in the almost invincible Terminators (who we don’t care if they get “killed”), capture and/or kill IRGC members, retrieve the uranium and then install a government that frees the Iranian citizens from the Regime/IRGC.
