Speaker Mike Johnson said he will “take personal risk” by pushing ahead with his plans for a House vote on foreign aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, as fellow Republican representatives continue to call for him to vacate the chair.
The House of Representatives is expected to vote on sending additional aid to Ukraine and Israel on Saturday as part of the $95 billion military funding. The package is divided into four bills, the third issuing funding for Taiwan. The fourth includes sanctions on Russia, China and Iran as well as measures to allow the seizing of frozen Russian central bank assets to aid Ukraine.
Following the publishing of the draft legislation, President Joe Biden said in a statement that he “strongly” supported the package and called on the House and Senate to back the bills.
“I will sign this into law immediately to send a message to the world: we stand with our friends, and we won’t let Iran or Russia succeed,” Biden said.

One does not have to make a choice between sending bullets or men to Ukraine. One could easily do neither or both.

One more piece of information about the ways Russia operates. The first forced mobilization happened in the formerly occupied Donbas. That’s where Russia got its first packs of meat for attacking the rest of Ukraine. If Russia takes control of Ukraine, there will be millions of men whom Russia will mobilize and send to attack Poland etc. So the thinking that “Russia will run out of this or that soon” is not in line with how they actually operate. Once Ukraine is gone to them, they will have an enormous resource available to them to direct towards Europe. This is why it is important to stop them in Ukraine.
And how will Russia force Ukrainians to attack Poland you ask? They will simply shoot anyone who does not do what they are told. So the choice is to do what asked and perhaps survive, or to be dead for certain. This is how they currently operate with their own people.

What would Iran do with a few nukes? So they shoot them at Israel. What if they get shot down over the surrounding Arab countries? Will they explode if they do?
If they hit something significant, Israel might then decide to send 10 or 20 nukes back at Iran. The US will then be forced into providing coverage for Israel and may need to unleash some nukes of our own to bring the back and forth to a quick close, which might trigger Russia to get involved.
If there were an explosion, the world wind blows west to east, so any fallout cloud is going to come back to Iran and then move into parts of Russia and China. I doubt they would be happy with this.

The unbelievable Greed for Wealth at any and all cost, is another one that quickly joins the list. Billions of $ is spoken about, like it’s loose change. The cost of living is now referred to as simply necessary expenses, so what’s the issue? When Billionaires became common place along with the Millionaires which are on every street corner now, or they make it seem and appear as so, the value of money changed. Now everyone doesn’t desire an end to that lifestyle and ease of spending to literally live life to the absolute fullest.
Wars elsewhere in the World. After the (planned?) Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, and hasty war to follow around the Globe, the War Machine had to get ramped up. So it got pumping quickly as usual. Once the fake tears from the fake debacle stopped, new orders started to show up and quickly. Then Ukraine came along to siphon off a few more Billion in weapons that will also need to be replaced. Good thing the War Machine was ready to get going. Then more wars around the Globe and specifically, and as usual, the Middle East had to crank up and get there new found weapons firing. Then Israel has conflicts that will require more weapons to be cranked out. “Rinse/Repeat” it appears…
A few more come to mind, such as Climate Change, DEI, Woke Ideologies, Abortion, EV’s Mandated etc. all ramped up again. After passing dates of “Coming to an End” they needed to make new ones, and with bigger problems. These will require more money and weaponry, and technology.
Lots more of course, but you get the point, at this point I would think…
Yep! The point is you should just pack up and go. Nobody needs whiners around. Let the Adults handle things and you can go be an Expat somewhere that’s tax free / tax cheap and a bargain.
Nah, I love this Country. I will continue to vote for like minded politicians and hope enough others follow along, and change will then occur.
The adults aren’t handling things in the USA. But packing up and leaving is always a good advice if you want to live in countries with real adults, a first world standard of living, low crime, good infrastructure, reasonably thin women, etc.
What happened to Canada?
Johnson has changed a lot of his views since becoming speaker. So, is he being blackmailed by the intelligence agencies? They always seem to fall in line with war, FISA and continuation of government growth.
Often, people talk out of there asses. When they are given full information, such as what likely happened to Johnson when he assumed the leadership position, opinions get modified.
