Trump praised Iran yesterday for letting ships pass through the strait. Here’s your result.
Background
Yesterday, I commented Trump Announces “Project Freedom” to Guide Ships Through the Strait
In a Truth Social post, Trump stated “This is a Humanitarian gesture on behalf of the United States, Middle Eastern Countries but, in particular, the Country of Iran. … If, in any way, this Humanitarian process is interfered with, that interference will, unfortunately, have to be dealt with forcefully. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Iran Immediately Responded
Any American interference in the new maritime regime of the Strait of Hormuz will be considered a violation of the ceasefire. The Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf would not be managed by Trump’s delusional posts! No one would believe Blame Game scenarios!
Today we see the result of Trump’s repeat blatant lies.
Iran Drones Strikes the U.A.E
The Wall Street Journal reports Attacks Strike U.A.E., Ships as Fighting Escalates in Mideast
Fighting in the Iran war flared, as strikes on a crucial United Arab Emirates oil port and several ships amid Iranian threats tested a shaky cease-fire. Iran fired cruise missiles and other projectiles at U.S. warships and commercial vessels as the U.S. launched an effort to help vessels transit the Strait of Hormuz, according to Adm. Brad Cooper, head of U.S. Central Command. Sailors reported witnessing a drone strike on a tanker and military jets buzzing overhead.
The U.A.E., which has backed tougher action against Iran, sounded alerts for the first time since early April, saying it was targeted by four missiles and a number of drones. It confirmed a drone hit sparked a fire at the crucial oil hub of Fujairah, which the country has used to pump much of its petroleum output around Iran’s chokehold on the strait.
The skirmishing came hours after President Trump announced a new initiative to get ships through the strait.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps defied the initiative, saying ships going through without its permission face serious risks.
Iran is a much more reliable source of information than Trump.
It’s unclear what Trump expected to gain by these lies. Last night the oil futures said all you need to know.
I commented “The oil markets don’t think much of this maneuver, and neither do I.”
Bond Yields
I am certain that JaguarAnalytics speaks for all of us with this pertinent thought:
“Mr. President. The US 10-year bond yield is breaking out through 4.4%. Please keep fighting your holy war to make sure Americans can’t afford anything. Thank you!”
Where Did Iran Strike?
But hey, Robin Brooks declared victory along with Trump.
Iran not only disagrees with that nonsense, Today, it attacked militarily.
Oh, that’s OK because it’s just a matter of days, or weeks, or months, before we declare victory for the 9th time.
In the Real World
- WTIC is up another $3.65 as I type to $105.60.
- Brent s up another $6.03 to $114.31
But that’s OK.
Q: Why?
A: We need to prevent Iran from wanting to build a bomb
Q: What?
A: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said in Congress that the US has totally destroyed Iran capability to build a bomb. When pressed on what the war was about, he said Iran wants to build a bomb.
I don’t know about you, but is that convincing or what? I am sure blowing them up will make them less likely to want to build a bomb. This is prime 5D thinking at its finest.
And we know it will work because such maneuvers have a 100 percent success rate. Wait? What?
Well no matter, I have it on good authority that we are doing more damage to Iran than they are doing to us. This we call winning.
Some Disagree and So Do I
Robin Brooks Has Supporters
For discussion of the position of Robin Brooks vs Jim Bianco, please see Gasoline Is 59 Cents from Record High, Diesel Only 19 Cents Away
I provide details of each view.
Meanwhile, today I note that the price of regular gasoline is $4.457 only 55.91 cents from a new record high.
If this isn’t a clear path to victory, what is?

2004 and I was seeing $5 diesel surcharge on every delivery invoice. In 1988 I was driving F250 one thousand miles per week with 100-125 miles each way to my jobs. All that just made me charge more to customers, guaranteed inflation coming to everyone world wide. In construction business, mine, for 48 yrs, I rubbed elbows with many workers barely getting by, soon they will not be getting to work because of unnecessary war in which many will starve, many die, and a few acquire vast fortunes all in the American Way.
The 2 and 30 year bond yields could be in wave d of a 2+ year triangle if they have not already finished their consolidation from the COVID lows. The 10 year bond yield has been difficult to count, which means its part of a consolidation.
Today I took a flight that I’ve taken dozens of times. I didn’t realize until departure that, instead of taking the usual 3h, it took 4h. Instead of cruising at the typical 500 mph, it was cruising at only about 350 mph. Saving on fuel due to the Epstein Furry?
If they turn the engines off and glide for awhile, they can save even more fuel!
I noticed a small number of tractor trailer drivers going *really* slow on a long distance drive I did recently. At first I wondered why, then realized diesel is at record highs.
I can’t believe Chevron stock is up only 3% since the war began. Seems like a bargain with the shortage we’re about to have.
it will take just a.little over 3 years to get the ships out of the Strait if 2 a day is the average.
Cover story in his week’s Economist Cover Story:
“Chaguan: China thinks America is declining but still uniquely dangerousIt sees Donald Trump as both symptom and accelerant of the decline”
There you go Trumpy – thanks for killing the Greatest Empire ever!
The skirmish was supposed to take 3-5 Days. WTF HAPPENED?
TrumpCO happened! Sheer Incompetence. We are screwed!
‘This is just disarray’: alarm inside Pentagon after Hegseth staff purgesInsiders portray defense secretary as increasingly isolated after officers with impeccable reputations forced out

The only competent way to handle Iran was to not invade. What Iran has done in response is exactly what they said they would do. And if Trump strikes them again, they’ll do exactly what they’ve said they will do. At a minimum they’ll take out Saudi’s east-west pipeline and their port on the Red Sea. And more. This is why no president before Trump was stupid enough to do it. Making popcorn.
So where did we end the day? So many conflicting reports.
US claims they got two US-flagged freighters out of the strait, Iran disagrees.
US claims they got two battleships into the gulf; did this happen?
Iran claims it hit a US Navy ship, US denies that.
Oil prices rose, Trump dismissed polls showing the war is unpopular as “fake”, arguing the media is downplaying concerns about a nuclear-armed Iran.
What happens tomorrow, does Project Freedom continue with the attempt to get the 2,000ish ships trapped in the Gulf out through the strait?
Does anyone think the price of oil goes down tomorrow?
We have confirmation now from one of the freighters that exited the strait.
Danish shipping company Maersk says the Alliance Fairfax, a US-flagged car carrier, left the Gulf after being escorted through the Strait of Hormuz by the US military.
BREAKING: Massive fires have erupted at the Fujairah port after multiple Iranian strikes targeted the facility—crippling the UAE’s last remaining oil export outlet and the critical endpoint of its pipeline designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz.
This is a major escalation with global implications. Fujairah has served as a strategic lifeline for oil exports outside the Strait, and its disruption could send shockwaves through energy markets, drive up oil prices, and intensify already volatile tensions in the region.
UAE was asking for it.
She wasn’t acting right.
It’s said both Israel and the UAE will be responding to this, which is a new development: another gulf state attacking Iran.
This isn’t looking good, and can quickly spiral out of control.
I was thinking if Israel and the UAE (and again this will be the first time a gulf state gets involved, at least from my understanding) attack Iran was this the plan?
I say this because I just read that Iran attacked a South Korean ship and Trump said:
“Perhaps it’s time for South Korea to come and join the mission!’ he wrote.”
https://www.politico.com/news/2026/05/04/us-iran-boat-attacks-ceasefire-00905301
So I was thinking is this away to get around the war powers issue – have other nations do the bombing for you as you look like you’re helping boats get out of the strait (but in the chaos shooting off missiles)?
Look we’re not fighting Iran we’re just helping ships get out, its all the neighboring countries, and those countries attacked by Iran that’s doing the shooting so we don’t see why anyone would call to vote on the war powers act at this time. We are not at war.
Whew! Now that has to rate as one of the dumber things I’ve ever seen written!
Just to remind everyone what Fetterman said the other day: “Iran is NOT the underdog in this fight”.
You get the bald turkey award for dumbest comment ever but thanks for giving us the AIPAC view.
JoJo says whatever stupid thing he thinks will get a rise out of people. In other words, he is a troll.
Don’t feed the troll. I know, I am guilty as well.
I mean he’s right, they’re definitely not the underdog anymore lol
I know what you mean: they’ve proven themselves to have a lot of capabilities. To much of the world, Iran is David and the US-Israhell Axis of Evil is Goliath.
Sad but true. I’m hoping Trump tells the CIA to find and remove the citizenship for any Americas shilling for Iran and against the USA!
You really should move to Israel and join their armed forces…
You you you … MAGA stalwart !
Don’t forget the US is dumping in excess of 7.1 million barrels every 5 days into the market suppressing the price. As that fades watch oil take off for the heavens.
Had to change my name for comments from Jack cuz someone else started using Jack & I do not want to be associated with it.
well, yes and no
Lowering global price a bit – Raising US costs
I look at the price daily & I have noticed an unusually high volume of red bars dumping just as the price starts to accelerate. I also check the spr: http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?n=PET&s=WCSSTUS1&f=W
I can’t exactly know how much effect it’s having but I think it’s substantial. $105 with all that lost supply? It reached $148 in 2008, it should be $200.
The Strait closure is humiliating Trump (and the US also)
He’s flailing, knowing that the continued closure is the supreme evidence of his inadequacies
Because it is such a public failure he will try many stupid things before he ends up signing something meaningful with Iran
How far will he go?
Only his sore ego knows.
Welp…😬
BREAKING: US Sinks Seven Iranian Small Boats Harassing Cargo Ships in the Strait of Hormuz – Trump Threatens To ‘Blow Mullahs Regime off the Face of the Earth’
Bond yields have a long way to go, up. I remember when long US Treasuries were paying 15%. That was in 1981 when a lot you were probably not even around.
The difference between ’81 and today is $40 trillion.
Contradictory logic? Endless lies? Circular thinking? It’s getting to the point where you don’t have to name names and we know who you’re talking about: MAGA morons!
Mortgage rates are at 6.31% as I write this so kiss real estate summer boom bye bye! CRE was supposed to refinance 1.5 trillion in bad ballooning loans but I guess they’ll find some way to extend and pretend forever.
Job losses mounting (see Spirit 17,000 for reference).
Oil prices skyrocketing – how much is Diesel now?
Treasuries soaring increasing debt load!
Farmers going broke.
Next up rationing, soaring food prices, more bankruptcies.
How are you MAGA fools liking your golden age?
Do worry, Trump will find a way to make things even worse.™
Don’t forget this is all big theater and distraction. The ones in control certainly know what they’re doing and are pushing their agenda via the muppets they put into place. One day people will notice digital prison for the survivors has snapped into place. Which will be the end of any personal liberty and free will for the unwashed – that’s us. Don’t get distracted. Take a step back.
“Catherine Austin Fitts: “The Government Isn’t in Charge—The President Is Doing What He’s Told”A former HUD official argues rising deficits and mixed signals point to power operating behind elected leaders.”https://lionessofjudah.substack.com/p/catherine-austin-fitts-the-government
“The President Is Doing What He’s Told” Not new; with a number of administrations It certainly seemed/appeared that was true in the Biden admin especially towards the end
Most MAGA people voted for the opposite of this. He lied to us royally. Trump is a Judas. He pretended he was going to do something about the Epstein class and then turned out to be one of them
It sounds to me as if Trump has given the Persians a chance to behave, and they haven’t taken it. I suppose eventually he will give them another chance.
I suppose you blame a rape victim for not just giving it up.
Well, this rape victim has been paying for and supporting an armed struggle against Israel for thirty or forty years. I’m not saying that I’m on Israel’s side. But Trump is. Rightly or wrongly, he wants to bring the American-Jewish version of civilization to the Middle East. What do you expect him to do? He thinks, as apparently most Americans do, that America has the judgement and the right to impose some sort of order.
So we’ve gone from “no more endless regime change wars” to “America has the judgement(!!!) and the right to impose some sort of order.” We are now Team America, World Police. And what is the “American-Jewish” version of civilization? And “apparently most Americans” think this way? “I’m not saying I’m on Israel’s side…” but, I’m on Israel’s side. It’s hard to imagine the out-of-touch world view that’s generated these beliefs. Most Americans are not in favor of being the world’s policeman, don’t give a rat’s ass about Saudi, Iran or the rest of them and Israel’s massive overreaction to Oct 7 has lost it a great deal of support in the US, to the point where many of us are tired of being used by them as well and ready to cut off the allowance.
Exactly, Trump’s sub -40% approval rating does not scream “in touch with most Americans”
How rude of the rape victim to fight back!
Iran is not the underdog. They created the circumstances that put them in the position they are in today.
No they didn’t. You cannot name a single terrorist attack from the Iranian government. They’ve been able to create a nuclear weapon for 20 years and have chosen not to do so. The problem with Iran is that they’re not willing to cut America in on its oil profits like the rest of the world has been forced to do (see Venezuela).
Can’t you Iranian bots at least use names from your own country/language instead of trying to masquerade as Americans? Like Jahar instead of “Jon”?
That’s not true… Hezbollah bombed the US Marine barracks in Beirut, the Oct. 6th Hamas incursion into Israel, etc. The Houthis have been attacking shipping.
Iran has been supporting terrorism for years.
Hezbollah is not Iran, nor is Hamas or the Houthis. The bombing of the Marines baracks was done by Islamic Jihad. And attacks on military installations are not terrorism. Terrorism attacks are random attacks on civilians with the intent to cause terror: like 911. The Houthis have only attacked Israel after Israeli military attacks on Gaza, Iran and Yemen. Hamas is a terrorist organization but do not act at the direction of Iran. Point is, no, Iran has not been involved in terrorism in any way.
Boy you are a begging for more punishment moral masochist….
Don’t forget that one aspect of this is American feminism. Your American ladies think that Persian ladies should be treated just as they demand to be treated themselves. All American feminists hate all Moslems for this reason. That gives the American Government the freedom to mistreat Moslems. Remember that prison in Iraq – Abu Grabe or something like that?
From what I can make out, the Persians treat their women better than all the decadent and primitive races do – better, in fact, than we in the West did when we were still in the grip of the Middle Eastern religion of Christianity. We treat our women in the way that wealthy decadent nations do before they collapse: we pretend that they have good judgement, and treat their nonsense as if it were serious opinion.
The oil is not the only factor in Western policy towards the Middle East. Neither is Israel. Feminism is in there too.
There was a lot less genocide when all these countries had flourishing Jewish communities and minded their own business, until America inserted a Zionist cancer infection into the region and is still trying to suppress the immune reaction.
When were the Persians not behaving?
When they wouldn’t ignore the Israelis committing genocide.
Lining up perfectly with tomorrow for a TACO Tuesday which is also
Cinco De Mayo….DOUBLE BOOM!!! 🌮🌮 Suck on that LibTards! lolz
Note to JoJo from last thread. I created some charts of BED net jobs by sector.
Will publish soon.
Like I said project freedom was ment to put Iran on the offensive. One could also read it as preparation the US wanted to make before going in to the strait to bomb Iran’s missile sites, which they moved deeper into Iran and are currently out of the range of the missiles the US is using.
At some point Trump is gonna have to follow through with his threats, and that if counted is the only card Trump can play. I say this because even with the meeting with China later this month I’m not sure why he’s going as China has told their refineries to ignore Trump’s sanctions. Trump seems to want to dig the deepest hole he can and argue from that position as to why China has to agree to his terms on trade? Good luck.
As of right now project freedom has has already backfired on Trump, and the world economy is gonna suffer even more because of it.
Project Freedom was meant to test how much the Iranians were ready to cave to Trump. Trump assumed they’d let some pass as a peace offering. As usual, he was dead wrong. Oh well, back to ever higher gas prices and unemployment for MAGA.
I thought taco had already declared the war was over and he won?
That was the last 60 day block. This is a new one.
He can keep making things up until he is right by coincidence one day, then he will say “see I always knew it would come to exactly this”
You are behind on the food being served.
It’s now NACHO (Not A Chance Hormuz Opens) Trump.
