Pentagon Says Iran Attacking US Ships Is Below Threshold for Renewed War

Suddenly, it seems the US is afraid of war and the higher oil prices that would come.

‘Below the Threshold’ for Restarting War

Iran attacked the UAE, US ships, and is laying mines. However, Pentagon Says Iran’s Actions ‘Below the Threshold’ for Restarting War

The United Arab Emirates said it was intercepting new attacks from Iran hours after a Pentagon briefing in which the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine, said Iran’s military actions didn’t rise to the level of restarting the war.

U.S. officials sought to play down the events of the past 24 hours, including Iran’s targeting of American warships and attacks on other vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s neighbors. The acts tested the shaky four-week cease-fire and prompted threats from each side toward the other.

Iran Placed Mines in the Strait of Hormuz During Cease-Fire, Pentagon Says

Iran placed sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz during the cease-fire that began April 7, according to information released by the Pentagon. The regime dropped additional mines in the strategic waterway on April 23, according to a chart shown by Joint Chiefs Chair Gen. Dan Caine during a Tuesday briefing.

Iran had already placed a small number of mines in the strait at the start of the conflict, U.S. officials said. The mines don’t have to be removed for commercial ships to transit the waterway; instead, the ships can maneuver around the mines, the officials said. However, without removing the mines, the amount of traffic that can move through the strait is severely limited, according to a congressional aide briefed on the issue.

Trump: ‘I Don’t Want to’ Kill More Iranians

President Trump said Iran should do “the smart thing” and make a deal because he doesn’t want to kill more Iranian people in a renewed war. “We don’t want to go in and kill people, I don’t want to. I don’t want to. It’s too tough,” he said at the White House. “They should wave the white the flag, the white flag of surrender.”

Trump Hints Again He May Send Weapons to Iranian People

President Trump continued to hint that he is considering arming Iranian citizens to help them protest against the regime, even though some U.S. officials and analysts question the feasibility of such a plan.

Trump refused to answer Tuesday when asked directly at the White House if he planned to arm Iranians, but he said “they don’t have any guns,” adding: “the only reason is they want to protest so badly.” Trump floated the same idea in a Monday interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, though he has never committed to sending weapons meant for Iranian people.

GPS Signal Jamming Leaves Ships ‘Sailing Blind’ Around Hormuz

Seafarers trapped in the Persian Gulf said that intense electronic interference in the region in recent hours had rendered their onboard navigation systems useless, as attacks resumed in the Strait of Hormuz.

Without reliable and accurate navigation systems, ships can’t see each other, or even locate themselves, on electronic charts, meaning they are effectively sailing blind. Radar still works but is a much more challenging way to navigate. GPS automatically updates a ship’s location, whereas using only radar leaves the person at the helm to constantly track the ship’s position manually and anticipate the intentions of other vessels. Radar also doesn’t show the names of other ships, making communication, coordination, and maneuvering to avoid collisions extremely challenging.

Ceasefire Is Not Over

Reuters reports Ceasefire with Iran is not over, Pentagon’s Hegseth says

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said on Tuesday that the ceasefire with ‌Iran was not over, even as the U.S. and Iran exchanged fire in the Gulf as they wrestled for control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Hegseth said the U.S. had successfully secured a path through the critical waterway and that hundreds of commercial ships were lining up to pass through, as Washington seeks to break a chokehold Iran has asserted on the Strait of Hormuz since the conflict began on February 28.

Several merchant ships in the Gulf reported explosions or fires on Monday, the first day of the operation.

General Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Iran attacked Oman once on Monday and waged three attacks on the United Arab Emirates, before adding that, at least so far, “today is quieter.”

Caine said that since the ceasefire was announced on April 7, Iran had fired at commercial vessels nine times and seized two container ships. Iran has attacked U.S. forces more than 10 times, he added.

However, the attacks fell “below the threshold of restarting major combat operations at this point,” Caine told reporters.

Asked whether the ceasefire with Iran still held, Hegseth said: “No, the ceasefire is not over.”

The Huge Significance of Two

As of early May 2026, reports indicate that between 1,550 and 2,000 vessels are trapped or stranded in the Persian Gulf and near the Strait of Hormuz, with up to 20,000 seafarers affected.

MAGA clown are bragging that the US guided two ships through.

At this rate it will only take 1,000 days to guide the ships through.

Read Between the Lies

Massive gaslighting and lies. Trump tries to downplay $102 oil on the basis he expected $250 or $300.

Bragging about $102 oil does nothing but make him look like an idiot.

I think that clip will make a great ad campaign for the midterm elections.

Trump’s Cognitive Tests

On Giving Iranians Weapons

Trump Tells Kids “Iran Two Weeks from Killing You”

Iran was simultaneously two weeks away from a nuclear weapon despite the fact we totally destroyed their ability to make a weapon.

Some may think this makes no sense, but in 5D Wonderland it makes perfect sense.

A Slight Correction

Hilarious Video of Trump’s Truth Social Posts

Yesterday, MAGA proclaimed on X that Trump goaded Iran into attacking so we could hit back.

Today there was strange silence. I expected some 5D explanation as to why this was brilliant.

Trump is stuck in a waiting game he cannot win.

Oil is down a bit today, with WTIC at $102.45 as I type. However, there is much more up coming if the blockade continues.

Trump Springs to Action, Begs South Korea for Help

Yesterday, I noted Trump Springs to Action, Begs South Korea for Help

Today, Iran attacked the UAE. Trump’s response is to plead for help from South Korea.

Today we see a ceasefire is still in effect.

North Korea is run by a crazy child. He has never used one of his nukes, but somehow, it’s a lock that Iran would? Lol. All this abject stupidity over this completely idiotic notion it’s guaranteed Iran would use nukes if it ever were to get them. Unlike, I guess, the perfectly rational North Koreans, the Red Chinese, the Pakistanis who were hiding bin Laden, and the shoe pounding ” We will bury you” Khrushchev. Somehow Marco “The Idiot” Rubio knows Iran would use its nuke. We are committing an Act of War against a lot of countries, and some of them have nukes.

The resulting volatility is great for nimble traders. Every time Trump successfully talks down oil prices it’s another opportunity to buy the dip. When reality hits and oil prices rise again, sell the rip. Repeat.

“President Trump said on Tuesday evening that he is pausing the U.S. effort to guide stranded vessels out of the Strait of Hormuz to allow time for a deal to end the Iran war, but that the American forces’ blockade of Iranian ports would remain in place.”

Remember the US govt has denied being attacked by Iran in the last 48hrs.

“Trump said the move was based “on the request of Pakistan and other Countries, the tremendous Military Success that we have had during the Campaign against the Country of Iran and, additionally, the fact that Great Progress has been made toward a Complete and Final Agreement with Representatives of Iran.”

If this was true why the attacks on the UAE?

This smells and to me shows fear on the part of Trump to escort ships out because they know they’ll get attacked.

Simmer and stew beware the month of june.

The last two months of Trump’s behavior has been like living with Grandpa while Alzheimers eats his brain. The scattered, inconsistent thought process, memories detached from reality, inability to stay on topic, episodes of violent rage, are all consistent with advancing dementia.

How much more evidence is needed? Who is going to take away grandpa’s keys? In this case its not the old Buick, but the nuclear suitcase. Certainly, no one in the MAGA Administration has the stones to confront the old man with the 25th Amendment.

Its a long time until January, when a Democratic Congress can begin some oversight, and try to limit the damage.

During today’s Oval Office visit with a group of children surrounding Trump after he announced the return of the Presidential Fitness Test, the unhinged president launched into disgusting and despicable tangents against the Trans community.
At the same time, he attacked President Barack Obama, Iran, nuclear weapons, voting rights, election fraud nonsense, the Save Act, and golfing — most of which they were too young to understand.
Trump’s insanity was highlighted by his attacks on the trans community.

meanwhile: As this is a shocker According to the Miami Herald, the deal to rename Palm Beach International Airport after Donald Trump is packed with perks for Trump’s business.
Under the tentative agreement:
• Airport stores would be forced to buy branded merchandise only from Trump-approved retailers
• Trump’s company gets control over who manufactures those products
• Trump gets veto power over how his biography is presented in airport materials
• And thanks to a loophole, Trump-linked entities could still profit off airport-branded merchandise sold off-site

A few points for discussion.

  1. The US informed Iran of Project Freedom before it began. The US told them not to interfere. So Iran loaded up and attacked ships and regional partners once it began
  2. The US in the last week has asked the UN, China, S. Korea and anyone else out there for help in opening the Strait of Hormuz, after Bessent said the US has absolute control of the strait.
  3. So far Project Freedom has “guided” two commercial ships through the strait. Only 2000 more to go.
  4. An hour ago, Iran struck another commercial ship.
  5. Iran has implemented a new mechanism for ship transits in the Strait. Ships intending to transit must first receive an email from info@PGSA.ir informing them of the transit regulations. They then adjust to the framework and receive a transit permit.
  6. Iran’s Araghchi will meet with Xi on May 6, before Trump does. Who knows what will be discussed?
  7. Iraq has had to shut in most of their oil production for over 6 weeks now. They are offering oil at a $30 discount to anyone brave enough to come and get it.
  8. The US seems unwilling to burn through more armaments and has stopped attacking Iran. Even after Iran attacked our naval ships. We seem to be running low on munitions.

Apparently (and stupidly) not unwilling. Many military air transports have been reported with signs that we’ve been reloading for another round. Renewed attacks on Iran are expected in the next few days.

We will see. I would not be surprised by a short and swift attack. I certainly don’t expect a month long campaign with many thousands of our armaments being used. That would leave us with very little.

Regardless. Iran will not capitulate, no matter how we hit them militarily. It’s a waste of our resources. It will come down to negotiations. And they will not be quick. It will take months of negotiations. And Iran will likely end up in a better position when it is all over.

What a waste of time and effort.

President Trump announced on Tuesday evening that he was pausing the day-old U.S. operation to escort commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz “for a short period of time,” citing what he said was “great progress” toward an agreement with Iran.
His announcement, in a social media post, came only hours after Secretary of State Marco Rubio asserted that the United States had concluded combat operations against Iran and was fully focused on the new mission. Only three commercial ships have managed to make it through the strait since the United States began the operation,Project Freedom, on Monday.

My guess this is NOW about China and the meeting that’s gonna happening this month between Xi and Trump. I belive Trump is using Iran as a card to play in the trade deal talks coming up.

Should China not give what Trump wants Trump is likely to cut Iranian oil flows to China for the foreseeable future.

Do remember also that Iran gave the US till the end of this month to get out of dodge or Iran will start targeting everyone in the region, including Israel and the US.

I expect this situation to stew and simmer till either we get some seriously credible news from the meeting with China (no doubt Trump will spin it as America won in the trade deal when it didn’t) or bombing starts next month (and if it does it will be a sure sign that America didn’t get what it wanted from China).

Will China bend to Trump? It’s hard to belive they would given the Chinese govt told it’s refineries and banks to ignore US sanctions. Also given the reports of how American stockpiles are for ammunition and missiles; why wouldn’t China keep suppoting and telling Iran to keep up the resistance to fully deplete these stockpiles? Doing so leaves Taiwan open for the taking.

So far only 2 ships, and the transit was not peaceful. The U.S. Navy reportedly had to fend off a barrage of Iranian missiles, drones, and small boats during the passage. Another problem is that  Iranian capabilities for GPS jamming and spoofing appear to have increased dramatically, which may be what caused problems for two US planes today. So even if merchant vessels want to try to make a transit, they can’t do it on their own, since they can’t rely on GPS anymore to know where they are. They have to “shadow” US navy ships. Captains have also been told to use such sophisticated techniques as visual bearing and dead reckoning to navigate. How can these clowns brag about something like this as being a solution to anything?

Wrong. Iran’s successful attack patterns since Feb 28, while decentralized, suggest a high degree of planning and sophistication. They have precisely hit a variety of high-value strategic targets, progressively blinding U.S./Israel to successive waves of attacks. Anyone suggesting THEY don’t know what they are doing are trying to draw attention away from the fact that WE don’t seem to know what the heck we are doing.

Iran is probably telling the truth here, and my bet would be a false flag attack. If you pay attention to how Iran communicates, they directly warn of consequences and then when we do the thing they warned against, retribution arrives quickly, sometimes in less than an hour. Israel and the U.S. warhawks do not want peaceful resolution, but chaos and death.

“Confused and fragmented” is part of the current narrative. Some people desperately want us (and especially Donald) to believe that Iran leadership is in disarray, and a sign that we can win this if we go another round.

It would not surprise me if some of the bickering is even staged between Trump and Kimmel teams. Trump used to say all publicity is good publicity if it gets people to talk about you. Kimmel is a tool and an entertainer. His ratings go up when Trump is in office. Most Americans are gullible and would listen to Kimmel over a person who has a PHd ….etc.

Anyway….I bet Team Kimmel were glad Trump was elected again. His rating dropped from 2.2 million in 2017 to 1.5 million in 2021 because Biden was never doing press conferences…etc. Ratings are back up 22% to 1.91 million after trump was elected.

Trump being elected is good for Kimmel and Kimmel knows this. 😂
