Republicans Blast Trump as He Golfs,  Fate of the Bill Uncertain

A Mistake

Senator Roy Blunt, chair of the Senate Republican Policy Committee, warned President Donald Trump that attempting to change the bipartisan COVID-19 stimulus package would be “a mistake” after the president urged lawmakers to raise the $600 stimulus checks to $2,000.

The best way out of this is for the president to sign the bill, and I still hope that’s what he decides,” said Blount.

Rare Christmas Eve Session

In a Rare Christmas Eve Session, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi put forward a unanimous consent request to raise direct payments to $2000 but that was quickly blocked by Republicans.

Trump Is Golfing

With the fate of the bill in Limbo, Trump is golfing.

Love Boat

AOC, Trump, and Pelosi are all in the same love boat.

What were the odds of that?

What Will Trump Do?

We still don’t know the answer to this question: Is Trump’s Intent a Pocket Veto?

AOC & Pelosi do not care about the $ 2000.00, they are using the controversy against the Reps in Congress.

Gosh, it’s almost as if trump wasn’t a republican at all, but just told people what they wanted to hear. Jeeves! Fetch my fainting couch!

Trump doesn’t need anything. He’s out in 30 days. He’s just throwing a kanhipshin and causing has much chaos as he can on the way out. He’s the same man he was our years ago. He should never have been elected President and I really question anyone who says he’s was more fit or a better choice than Hillary Clinton. Country never would have survived another four years of Trump

Kanhipshin reminded me of Trump the raccoon. Raccoons enjoy and perhaps have found rewards by just plain general mischief and messing things up. They will for example just push heavy tools off of a high shelf to see what happens, they will bite into inedible air hoses or oil bottles for spite, etc. I imagine sometimes something falling breaks open a food container, theat’s why they keep doing it.

I intentionally spell it “Kanipshin”: a Yiddish word for “to throw a fit or an anger tantrum.” it adds a whole level of craziness to it

Republican willingness to finally call Trump out is directly tied to their confidence in winning their next election an how long till the next vote. House members seek re-election every two years which is why they are the biggest cowards.

Does signing the bill and giving people $600 really help anyone? It appears to only help politicians (mostly Republicans cause Dems can spin a veto in their favor) in Congress. What is the next relief bill going to be $300?

$300 to individuals and $300 billion to banks.

The only thing in Trump’s mind is how to expunge his loss and punish those who do not see him as the winner he is in his mind.

Everything is subordinate to the idea of being the winner.

Nothing and no-one else matters.

Remember when they wanted to balance the budget? When was the last time we even passed a budget… was it 2007 or 2008? They just keep the funding going now so does the stimulus bill actually do anything different? Nope, so anything to keep the temporary funding going until the end finally comes, but in the meantime, anything that causes maximum confusion going forward works even better than the stimulus.

It’s clear that while he called himself one, Trump is no Republican. The only point of this is to punish the true Republicans who have stood up for honor and respect for elections, and who have not supported his coup attempt. This could well swing both Georgia seats to the Democrats, but if it finishes Trump’s time as a Republican, it’s worth it.

His time is coming soon either way, so I’m not so sure it’s worth paying the price of having Congress and White House fully under Democrat control

I’m a paleoconservative, the last GOP presidential candidates I supported are Pat Buchanan and Alan Keyes. If GOP ignores the traditional right, I’m happy to sit at home during elections. If that means Majority Leader Schumer, so be it.

Seems like a good way to permanently lock yourself out of the political process.

If Biden has the Congress, he can make good on his promise of amnesty to over 10 million undocumented residents. If Dems are somehow able to also slip in statehood for DC and/or Puerto Rico in 2021 or 2022, you’ll never see a “paleoconservative” elected to the Presidency nor see the GOP control the House again (Senate control will even be uncommon).

The GOP’s only way to compete at that point will be moving even further to the left. So that’s what they’ll do to survive. Your beliefs will die with you, a grumpy old man somewhere out in rural America yelling at people to get off your lawn (which they won’t do, and you’ll have little recourse).

This is exactly why I voted for Trump. I would rather see AOC as President than Congressional RINOs.
