Trump Has “Good Call” with the Minnesota Governor; A Change in Tone?

Trump Will Consider Reducing Number of Federal Agents in Minnesota.

Just Do It

ICE has made a full blown mockery of the Bill of Rights. So, what’s to consider?

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Will Consider Reducing Number of Federal Agents in Minnesota

President Trump said he had a “very good call” with Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a change in tone as the White House seeks to de-escalate turmoil in the state. The White House said Trump will reduce the number of federal agents in Minnesota if local officials there increase their cooperation with federal authorities.

Two key hearings in federal legal challenges related to immigration enforcement operations in Minneapolis were taking place Monday. In one, a federal judge addressed a Minnesota lawsuit seeking to end what the state has called an unlawful surge of federal enforcement.

Key WSJ Points With My Comments

  • Trump declined to say whether the federal officer who fatally shot Pretti had acted appropriately. The White House said the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection are conducting investigations into the fatal shooting. [Because Trump is a bully and a coward ]
  • Trump said he is sending his border czar, Tom Homan, to Minnesota, signaling a potential change in immigration strategy. [Homan is a relative moderate compared to racists like Miller and Noem. But history shows that Trump always returns to Miller and Noem]
  • In a court hearing, Minnesota called Attorney General Pam Bondi’s weekend letter a “ransom note.” The letter contained a host of conditions in order to ease up the ICE surge—including access to the state’s voter data. [Ransom Note is a great analogy]
  • FBI Director Kash Patel suggested that it was illegal for Alex Pretti to bring a gun to immigration-related protests in Minneapolis—a claim gun-owners groups contested. Carrying a handgun is legal in Minnesota, and local officials have said Pretti was a legal gun owner. [The backlash from Patel’s and Bessent’s hypocrisy was stunning]

Minnesota Calls Bondi Letter a Ransom Note

Telling it like it obviously is, Minnesota Calls Bondi Letter a Ransom Note

Minnesota on Monday called Attorney General Pam Bondi’s weekend letter that made a host of demands—including for the state’s voter rolls—a “ransom note.”

“Another person has been shot dead in broad daylight by DHS agents,” Minnesota state attorney Lindsey Middlecamp said in a court hearing over the state’s request to block the immigration enforcement surge. “Instead of engaging with those facts, Attorney General Pam Bondi sent what can only be described as a ransom note.”

She was referring to a Saturday letter from Bondi to Gov. Tim Walz, outlining three conditions Bondi said the state needed to meet in order to see the thousands of ICE agents who have flooded the Twin Cities ease up.

In addition to allowing the Justice Department’s civil rights division to access voter data, Bondi also urged the state to share its records on Medicaid and Food and Nutrition Service programs with the federal government, so it can investigate potential fraud. She also told officials to abandon what she described as lax policies barring local police from cooperating with immigration enforcement officers.

Ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, the Justice Department has demanded that states hand over voter lists, which can contain driver’s license numbers, birth dates, partial or complete Social Security numbers and sometimes party registration. Officials have said their goal is preventing voter fraud. But some state leaders said the administration’s request violates privacy laws and exceeds the federal agency’s authority.

Election All You Need to Know

Under the Constitution and federal law, states are responsible for running elections and maintaining lists of voters, including the addition of new ones and the removal of those who have become ineligible.

States are already required by law to ensure only eligible people cast ballots on Election Day.

Bondi is asking the Minnesota Governor to violate the constitution. But you don’t break the Constitution to defend it.

This will bring out all the nutcases who claim I support illegals voting. Well, to nip that in the bud, I don’t. And I do believe in voter ID.

The Evidence

There is no evidence that suggests illegal aliens are voting.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports Utah voter roll review finds no evidence of noncitizens casting a ballot, Lt. Gov. says

After spending months reviewing 2.1 million people on Utah’s voter rolls, the lieutenant governor has not found a single instance of a noncitizen voting in the state and only one instance of an ineligible individual registering to vote.

“We have not yet encountered anyone who voted illegally,” Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson, who oversees Utah’s elections, said of her office’s review of the state’s voter file.

The claims of vote fraud in Georgia were all preposterous, except one.

The state counted and recounted ballots and the total for Democrats rose.

Q: What was the one exception?
A: Trump. His pressuring of Governor Kemp to find votes constitutes tampering and fraud.

In court, time and time again, judges asked Trump’s lawyers for evidence of fraud. Not one time was any evidence presented. Ever.

Q: Why?
A: Because there are severe consequences to lying to a judge.

Instead, Trump presented his case to the Jury of MAGA Supporters who were able and willing to promote anything Trump says.

Rudy Giuliani Convicted of Defamation

  • Legal & Financial Ruin: Giuliani was found liable for $148 million in a defamation lawsuit by Georgia election workers, leading to bankruptcy proceedings and a 2025 settlement where he turned over assets.
  • Disbarment: He was stripped of his law license in New York (July 2025) and Washington, D.C. (September 2025).
  • Pardon: In November 2025, he was among those pardoned by President Trump for involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

To repeat, there is no evidence illegals are voting or any other mass fraud ideas that Giuliani and others claimed,

The court, in many states, asked Trump’s attorneys for evidence, and team Trump delivered none, ever.

Giuliani delivered lies and got what he deserved, except for the pardon, of course.

This is beside the point.

We do need better laws. And automatic registration to vote when you get a driver’s license ought to be illegal, for obvious reasons.

So, I fully support better laws. But I do not support breaking the constitution for ransom or any other reasons.

With that diversion out of the way, let’s return to the alleged “very good call” and Trump’s alleged softening position.

Tom Homan Lead Contact

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said border czar Tom Homan will be the lead point of contact for the Trump administration in Minnesota, and Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino will focus more broadly on issues around the country.

“Mr. Bovino is a wonderful man, and he is a great professional,” Leavitt told reporters at the White House. “He is going to very much continue to lead Customs and Border Patrol throughout and across the country. Mr. Homan will be the main point of contact on the ground.”

President Trump’s deployment of border czar Tom Homan to Minnesota shouldn’t be read as an indication that he is dissatisfied with the administration officials who are on the ground leading the operation, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday.

Leavitt said Trump still has confidence in Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Homan, she said, is in a “unique position to drop everything” and go Minnesota and be the point person on talks with state and local officials.

How is this even a change?

Bovino is not a wonderful man. He is a racist liar along with Noem.

Judge Said She Will Rule Quickly on Minnesota Request to End Surge

Finally, please note Judge Said She Will Rule Quickly on Minnesota Request to End Surge

U.S. District Judge Katherine Menendez said she would rule as soon as she could on a plea from Minnesota to order a pause in the large federal immigration operation in the state, dubbed Operation Metro Surge.

“If I had a burner in front of the front burner, this would be on it,” she said.

During a three-hour hearing Monday morning, Menendez questioned her authority to issue a broad injunction against the specifics of the executive branch’s deployment of ICE in the Twin Cities. At the same time, she seemed concerned about the pressure from the administration, including a list of requests in the letter Attorney General Pam Bondi sent to Gov. Tim Walz this weekend, which pushed for changes in the state’s so-called sanctuary policies.

“We are in shockingly unusual times,” the judge said.

Fourth Amendment

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Pacific Legal has a Primer on the Fourth Amendment

The basic premise of this amendment is to protect Americans from unreasonable searches and seizures of their property by the government.

It is for this reason that a police officer cannot stop you while you’re walking down the street and arbitrarily search your purse or pockets.

These protections did not just come about spontaneously. Like all amendments included in the Bill of Rights, the Framers learned from their experience as royal subjects and added safeguards against the abuses they routinely endured by British agents.

What About 8 U.S.C. § 1357?

8 U.S.C. § 1357 grants immigration officers broad powers to interrogate, search, and arrest individuals without a warrant, particularly near the U.S. borders or for those suspected of violating immigration laws, allowing them to stop vehicles, search conveyances, and access private lands (but not dwellings) within defined distances to prevent illegal entry. This statute, part of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA § 287), outlines key authorities for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to enforce immigration laws.

The Act Is Unconstitutional, That’s What!

The law does not give the government a right to barge into the home of a US citizen to enforce the immigration laws. In the event of “hot pursuit”, it would probably be allowed. Otherwise, it would gut the 4th Amendment if officers, without consulting an Article III judge or magistrate, could barge into a home because they think immigrants are there.

Fact: It takes a constitutional amendment to change the constitution.

Neither Congress, nor the President, can take away Constitutional rights by signing a bill or by executive order.

This is why Trump’s Birthright Citizenship executive order is certain to go down in flames later this year.

And if you support Gestapo goons wearing masks breaking the 4th amendment, please look in the mirror to see a huge problem.

Shockingly Unusual Times

“We are in shockingly unusual times,” the judge said.

No kidding.

Trump and the administration break the bill of rights at will, murder US citizens, tell lies and suppresses evidence of that, and the Secretary of Treasury suddenly proposes carrying a gun is an intent to murder ICE agents.

On top of that, Trump and the administration support taking Greenland by force and break signed treaties with allies at will.

At the moment we have 51 active Federal state of emergency proclamations.

Yes, shocking.

A Well-Rehearsed Lie

Show Me Your Papers!

https://twitter.com/ennui365/status/2015775303121981774?s=20

A Change In Tone?

I will concede there is a legitimate change in tone if and when Trump announces

1) No illegal searches
2) No racist profiling
3) Prosecution of ICE Murders
4) A change in plan to only look for those with criminal records
5) Three months from now points 1, 2,and 4 are still working

Otherwise, it’s just another lie.

Find, Fix, Destroy. Find by Signal that Antifa thought secure but isn’t. Fix by enticing them to gather in Minneapolis. Destroy by arresting the Antifa organizers and prosecuting them.

Now completed Trump calls Watz and reads him the Riot Act and suddenly Minnesota police cooperate with ICE.

Fairly straightforward. Antifa allies are scratching their heads wondering what happened.

Well, Trump always TACOs Mish when the heat gets too high, and the video of Pretti’s shooting is just ghastly and really impossible to defend, so it would not be surprising if he changes tact.

It’s just that it’s very important for him to never be seen as backing down because strong leaders (i.e. bullies) never back down (Trumpian logic), so he will find a fall guy (maybe Miller), or pretend he changed his mind for other reasons. If these shenanigans don’t work, then a major distraction like war could be on the cards. The most important thing is to not admit fault, ever.

What can some of the Nazi who comment here say now?

I mean, even Trump is not buying the story that the Nazi commenters frequently post here. He realized that the previous ICE narrative in MN is no longer sustainable, which is why he is doing this tactic retreat.

But let’s see if the Nazi cosplayers will continue with the same narrative now that even their orange Fuhrer cosplayer abandoned it.

The Nazis won the largest number of votes in each of the two Reichstag (national parliament) elections held in 1932. Hitler was asked to form a government by the country’s president in January 1933. I don’t think any political party in Germany has ever won a majority of the seats in the Reichstag in any national election held since the end of WWI. Germany’s allocation of Reichstag seats is based on proportional representation not on Congressional or parliamentary districts.

You guys are talking past each other. The Nazis did indeed win the most votes, and they also never received a majority of the votes. The reason is that 1933 Germany was not a two party state, and their 30-something percent vote totals were the most any party received.

Parliamentary systems suck. That’s how Keir Starmer became Prime Minister with only 24% support for Labor. His current support is now about 10%.

Scott Gallaway was at Davos and has a nice summary of how things went (I.e. people laughing and walking out on Lutnick), LOVED Carney; and other things likely of interest. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFsdnQCyuOQ

Did Lutnick the alleged secretary of commerce have the good sense to wipe the kiwi off his face? Lutnick is the biggest boot licker ever

trump is like sybil and hitler. multi personality. and a great performer and politician who is as racist and hateful as humans can become. his over riding quality is that of nihilism. which is the modern amerikan affliction for many decades now. read “ominous parallels”. watch 4 part series free on youtube, “century of the self”. nihilism is as amerikan as apple pie for a few generations now. trump is perfect for our times.

Stupid as he is, he’s still a coward. Not quite dumb enough to know no fear.

That’s the thing about the Nazis. They weren’t all good. A lot of them were homos.

if i was going to outfit my fascist coup and stay in power for life, i’d recruit military men who have won wars in their careers. probably have to shop for ancient amerikans, and soviets, or the bin laden boys in afghanistan or the iraqis and iran, who won the iraq war. who else has WON a good war, in the past 20 years on planet. certainly no amerikans.

Sybil + Hilter? Multiple personality and a great performer? Goddamnit. Now you’re making me like him. It’s like you get two personalities for the price of one.

Changes in tone do not mean changes to policies. These are crooked fascists whom are wiping their asses with our US Constitution and enriching themselves!
