Trump Says the U.S. Has Completed Three Air Strikes on Iran

Trump pulled the trigger. His big claim of no wars on his watch is no more. He will address the nation at 10:00 PM.

Three Nuclear Sites Hit

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump Says the U.S. Has Completed Air Strikes on Iran

The U.S. joined Israel’s attacks against Iran’s nuclear program, putting more pressure on the country’s battered regime and risking further escalation of the conflict.

President Trump said on social media the U.S. attacked three of Iran’s nuclear sites: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan–hardened targets where analysts have said special U.S. munitions have the best chance of success.

“We have completed our very successful attacks,” Trump said in his post. “All planes are now outside of Iran air space.”

Earlier today, U.S. officials said multiple B-2 stealth bombers had left their base in Missouri and were heading west over the Pacific. The bombers can carry giant “bunker busting” bombs specifically designed to take out sites like Iran’s hardened nuclear facilities at Fordow, an enrichment site that is built inside a mountain.

Trump followed up his announcement of the strikes with a call for a return to diplomacy.

“NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!,” he wrote.

While the U.S. strikes appeared to be limited, America’s intervention threatens to widen a conflict being fought in the middle of some of the world’s most important energy facilities. Iran has threatened to strike at American troops around the region in the event the U.S. got involved in the conflict, and the oil and gas rich Gulf states that host U.S. bases are concerned the violence could spread to their territories.

Deal the Preferred Option

One hour ago the Journal reported Secretary of State Marco Rubio told allies Deal With Iran ‘Preferred’ Option

Secretary of State Marco Rubio told a series of European allies over the last two days that the Trump administration’s “preferred” option is to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue with a diplomatic deal, according to three European officials and one U.S. official. Rubio—who held calls or meetings with counterparts from the United Kingdom, France, Cyprus, Italy and Sweden—conveyed that President Trump still wanted an agreement with Iran that would see the country dismantle its nuclear program. Those conversations occurred just as some allies were preparing to meet with Iran’s foreign minister in Geneva, which ended Friday with no breakthrough.

Rubio’s message came after Trump said he would give Iran up to two weeks to demonstrate that it would abide by his demands of zero enrichment. If Tehran showed no willingness to budge, then Trump may decide to order one of the attack plans he approved of. The president, who has participated in several national-security meetings on the issue, is holding another one at the White House late Saturday. The State Department and White House, where Rubio simultaneously serves as national-security adviser, didn’t respond to requests for comment.

NBC Live Updates

NBC has Live Updates on Iran.

President Donald Trump’ decision to strike Iran’s fortresslike Fordo nuclear enrichment facility likely caused casualties among workers or anyone else still at the site. But it would not trigger a nuclear explosion or a widespread radiological or chemical spill, according to former nuclear officials and experts.

Sitting to the south of Iran’s capital, Tehran, the Fordo plant is used to enrich uranium for the production of nuclear energy or, potentially, a bomb. But although this uranium and its chemical byproducts can be harmful to ingest or touch without protective equipment — they won’t create a wider blast or regional contamination, analysts say.

That would only be the case if Fordo housed nuclear reactors or warheads, which international watchdogs and experts say is not the case.

“If you’re down there and it gets bombed, you’re stuffed,” Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, the ex-commanding officer of the British military’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Regiment, told NBC News on Thursday.

Successful Attack

Truth Social: “We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Trump to Address the Nation at 10:00 PM

“I will be giving an Address to the Nation at 10:00 P.M., at the White House, regarding our very successful military operation in Iran. This is an HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ISRAEL, AND THE WORLD. IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR. THANK YOU!,” said Trump on Truth Social.

There are enough nuclear armed powers. The world does not need more. No country should be permitted to enrich Uranium.

Do with think China would allow Taiwan to enrich uranium? So you think Turkey would allow Armenia to enrich uranium? Do you think Russia would allow Finland to enrich Uranium?

Iran spent decades chanting death to America. America took out their enrichment capability. Given Russian distraction and the regime change in Syria this was a good time to do it. The idea that Iran was not there ‘yet’, even is true, is irrelevant, once you understand the risks of a nuclear weapon.

This is a GREAT idea! I have not heard it broached before from the various media talking heads. One wonders why not?

Why isn’t the UN pushing this policy? This would be something useful for them to do for a change.

Would you allow exceptions to enrich uranium for peaceful energy generation? Or are you proposing a hard ban on everything?

Jojo

Yes. Iran had agreed to enrich uranium to somelike like 3.5%, which is all that is necessary for commercial use. But they continued violated this agree and no one ever did anything about it!

But given that Iran has some of the largest oil stores in the world, they really don’t have a need for nuclear plants to generate electricity. I’m unsure why this point never gets broached.

Further, both oil and standard nuclear plants are going to be obsoleted as soon as fusion plants arrive.

Iran could have sat back, built a modern society, enjoyed the bounty of their oil supplies and waited until the fusion technology was perfected.

But nooooooooo. That’s because Iran’s radical, fanatical Islamic Regime wanted a nuke bomb as “protection”.

Now they will get nothing. Iran will either agree to stop nuke enrichment and not fund terrorist states in the future or they will be bombed every time it looks like they try to restart their program.

Deal? How can deal mean anything? Iran already signed on the dotted line.

GBU-57 was purpose built for Fordow. Has the US ever had an undeployed weapon?

Donald has contravened the Geneva Convention (bombed nuclear site), as the US has in Kursk and Zaporizhzhia); the Constitution, the UN Charter, and International law. There is no bound the US will not step over, be it genocide, torture, perfidy, terrorism, assassinating your opposites in diplomacy, targeting embassies. Sneakier than the devil himself, the hubris will boomerang when the devil restores cosmic heirarchy. Ἀνάγκη with Χρόνος will crush the mutant.

Fordow I can see, it needs the bunker buster which Israel does not have. But why Natanz and Isfahan, which Israel claims to have pretty much destroyed already with multiple strikes of their own?

Not to mention that talking of two weeks for negotiation while bombers are in the air sort of smacks of a Dec 7th sneak attack, which we called “perfidious” when Japan did it.

Going from 60% enriched to bomb-grade enriched is pretty much a trivial one step process which no doubt is the purpose of Fordo. There is no use for 60% enriched other than to make a bomb. Once you have bomb grade, and all you need is baseball sized, you can hide it away anywhere and it’s game over. Iran has been working on triggers for nukes, which guess what, have no purpose other than to trigger nukes! Gabbard is possibly technically correct that Iran ‘isn’t developing a weapon’ but it IS putting the pieces in place to have nukes made in a matter of weeks. This was the West’s last chance to prevent an Islamic bomb that God knows, might have been a birthday present for ISIS or Hamas.

The big worry with nukes is electromagnetic pulse. In theory one nuke exploding at 500 miles up could take out all the electronics in the US. Back to 1880. That’s a much more serious problem than a crater where DC used to be, and North Korea has had that capability for 10 years now. The world would have been better off if the NK facilities had been taken out before they had a bomb and missiles, even if it meant war. The same holds for Iran, I’m afraid.

At least this sends a message to Chubby Kim that he doesn’t have a bunker anywhere that’s safe.

NK certainly has H-bombs, took them only a few years to build one after they made their first nuke. Iran can do the same. And NK could lend them the missiles. And anyway, a regular nuke is bad enough even with an EMP.

Exclusive: Iran given advance notice as US insisted attack on nuclear sites is ‘one-off’
https://amwaj.media/en/media-monitor/exclusive-iran-given-advance-notice-as-us-insisted-attack-on-nuclear-sites-is-one

US President Donald Trump says three key nuclear facilities in Iran have been “obliterated,” while threatening more strikes “if peace does not come quickly.” This comes as Amwaj.media has learned that Washington notified Tehran of the strikes. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a high-ranking Iranian political source confirmed that the Trump administration on June 21 conveyed that it did not seek an all-out confrontation, and only intended to strike the Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz nuclear sites. Importantly, the senior source also confirmed that the targeted sites were evacuated, with “most” of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium kept in secure locations.

this makes sense from Israel’s perspective, but from ours it doesn’t.

Isrel could have got it done on its own. it would have found a way to take out those reactors. maybe not with a bomb but it would have got it done. probably with more loss of life for itself

The US people did not want this. there was a bipartisan agreement among actual Americans, only 25% of Americans supported a strike on Iran! Our government should care about what the people want.

I think the attack was a huge mistake. Certainly, our government should have been more persistent in diplomatic negotiations, even if it took another year. What was the rush? Our own intelligence has made it plain that Iran had no nuclear weapons, and no intention to build one. (Why should they? North Korea, Russia, China, or Pakistan have indicated if the war escalates, Iran may be supplied with nuclear weapons.) At least we now have proof that the nation of Israeli has near complete control over President Trump. But why? Is President Trump compromised in some manner?

You can’t truly be as dumb as our post seems to indicate!

Perhaps you haven’t been paying attention to the news? Iran was supposedly weeks away from announcing that they had manufactured their first nuclear bomb. Israel knew this because of how many spies they had inserted into Iran. Time for negotiation was over. Trump made the right decision

Since the 90’s he’s whined that “Iran is about to build a bomb”…same lies we saw Bush Jr peddle to justify finishing his daddy’s business in Iraq were dusted off here and pushed out in a pathetic attempt to justify starting WWIII. The world is always in a mess. It’s just a question of how much of a mess. Political, religious, and ethnic hatred have been happening for thousands of years. This is just more of the same.

Contrary to some opinions here, there is no “end” to this. Just occasional, temporary pauses, in some areas of the world, and flare-ups in other areas.

Both sides will claim “God” is on their side, as they butcher the other side. If you are a “person of faith”, what does your faith say is the right thing to do?

You can choose to pick a side in this endless game, or you can choose to try to avoid being impacted as best you can. You can also try to take advantage of whatever opportunities arise from the tumult.

Grok. Define “opportunist”.

An opportunist is someone who seeks to gain personal advantage from circumstances, often with little regard for moral principles, loyalty, or long-term consequences. They prioritize self-interest, exploiting situations or others’ efforts to maximize their own benefit, typically without committing to a cause or taking risks.

In moral terms, an opportunist is often seen as lacking integrity, as their actions are driven by what’s most profitable or convenient rather than what’s right or fair. For example, an opportunist might switch allegiances in a conflict to align with the winning side or capitalize on a crisis for personal gain without contributing to its resolution.

This article was published a couple of days ago, prior to Trump’s actions Saturday but is definitely worth a read:

Israel Acted for All of Us

Special Thanks to President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Great IDF

by Amin Sharifi

June 18, 2025 at 5:00 am

Often lost in the media frenzy is the fact that Iran, unprovoked, initiated hostilities against Israel. The seeming dispute was not about territory, policy or any disagreement that states normally have. It was about ideology. Since its establishment nearly five decades ago, the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies have waged a war against Israel and the United States, calling for their destruction. From their point of view, neither country, as “unbelievers,” has a right to exist. Full stop.

• No other issue, domestic or foreign, was as consistent, prioritized or systematically pursued as Tehran’s hostility toward Israel, the country blocking its way to destroying the United States. To that end, Iran spent decades preparing “forward bases” across the Middle East and in South America, especially Venezuela.

Then US President Barack Obama’s JCPOA “nuclear deal” failed to address the fundamental nuclear threat from Iran, and focused on temporary technical limits while ignoring the regime’s long-term ambitions. Obama actually agreed to a “sunset clause” that would have allowed Iran legitimately to have as many nuclear weapons as could get, starting in October 2025.

The Biden administration unfortunately repeated Obama’s errors., perhaps under the illusion that if it were nice to Iran, Iran would be nice back. Instead, Iran seized on its good luck to escalate its uranium enrichment to 60% by April 2021 and to 83.7%, near weapons-grade, in 2023.

• In his first term, President Donald Trump wisely pulled the U.S. out of Obama’s deal – which, it turned out, had not only been fraudulent but totally illegitimate.

Does the world really want a terrorist state to have nuclear weapons? If you look at the damage Iran has been doing without nuclear weapons, imagine the damage it could do with them. A nuclear-armed, ideology-driven Islamist regime threatens everyone. Right now, Israel is on the front line doing what others –whose lives and countries Israel is saving — criticize it for doing. Israel’s actions are not about starting a war; they are about stopping a war that has been underway for 46 years, before the theocratic tyranny that initiated it can enlarge it further.

• Netanyahu and Trump’s resolve is not only creating the opportunity for a new, golden age for the Middle East but possibly also providing a deterrent — remember deterrence? — to other enemies of the West that have expressed wishes for its demise.

• Trump’s Churchillian defense of the Free World will place him at the forefront of history. Both he and Netanyahu — as well as the extraordinary Israeli military — deserve the Nobel Peace Prize for rescuing the world from one of the most toxic regimes since the Third Reich and the Soviet Union. Failure by the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award them the prize would tell us more about them than about one of the greatest triumphs for freedom of all time.

What a joke. Israel would never sign the NPT or allow inspectors into their nuclear development centers, and they stole the material and technology fro the U.S.; while Iran has signed the NPT and has allowed inspectors into their centers (or no one would even know the level they have enriched to!). They also think it’s okay to kill and wound hundreds of civilians living in an apartment, in order to murder one scientist asleep in his bed. And then there’s the formerly well respected IDF who now get their jolly’s by gleefully posting pictures of the various ways they’ve murdered little kids in Gaza. “If you live by the sword, you’ll die by the sword”, and I’ll be very surprised if they’re still a nation ten years from now.

Now that Trump is no longer TACOing 100% of the time, I wonder what’s going to happen the next time he talks about a ceasefire in Ukraine needing to happen sooner rather than later.

Don’t forget, China and Russia watched Israel and the US dismantle Iran in record time. Any thoughts of moving on Taiwan or pushing on too long in Ukraine got a hard cold dose of reality.

The message sent here wasn’t just for Iran, it was for the whole world.

The Ukrainians are doing well enough and they have all of Europe to furnish them with weapons and money to push back Putin. If Ukraine risks being overwhelmed that would be a different matter but it’s not. For now their problem is the missile attacks on civilian targets. Iran will run out of missiles soon and won’t be able to make more while Israel and the US can keep making them so eventually US and Israeli production will benefit Ukraine in a more direct way. For now Ukraine will have hold on. There are other more pressing matters for us.

China has cut off rare earth minerals, needed for the US military’s smart bombs & missiles. Biden used up a majority of our Nations stock pile of weapons for Ukraine, that’ll take up to 4 yrs to rebuild. A hotwar with China, the US will only have a two week supply of weapons & then we have to surrender. China knows this, as the door is now wide open for China to capture Taiwan.

Fine, the US can refuel in Iceland or Great Britain or Canada depending on the direction they are going. I mean how big can these ports be anyway when there are only a few thousand people in all of Greenland.

As a Canadian who goes back and forth I enjoyed the empty non-crowded flights and this summer will enjoy fewer tourists competing for the things I also want to visit in the USA. If enough Canadians sell their vacation homes it might even help with the so-called housing crisis.

Iran was a relatively easy target, though there will probably be some substantial blowback from them or their allies. Iran’s power to retaliate militarily and economically is far weaker than Russia’s or China’s. Plus the massive US debt, trillions in deficit spending without war, means we can’t afford another big war. The effect on the US economically would be like attacking ourselves.

NEW: Senior Iranian Official Says Iran Moved All Enriched Uranium, Including 60% Natanz Stockpile, to Safe Sites Ahead of Israeli Strikes

“Israel hit Natanz, Isfahan’s nuclear facility, Khondab, and Arak, but those sites were already evacuated. All the materials they were looking to destroy have been moved to a safe place,” said senior Iranian official Mohsen Rezaei.

Rezaei is a former IRGC commander and a senior member of the Expediency Council—a body that advises the Supreme Leader and resolves disputes between branches of government. He added that Iran had anticipated war with Israel as early as March and used that time to evacuate personnel and relocate sensitive equipment from nuclear facilities.

Rezaee states all enriched uranium, including Natanz’s stockpile of 60% material, was relocated to undisclosed safe sites. The IAEA has not yet verified these claims. Satellite imagery shows visible damage to above-ground structures at Natanz and Isfahan.

Rezaei also cautioned Iran’s leadership against agreeing to a ceasefire: “Any ceasefire that is implemented now will lead to renewed war. We should not allow the enemy, which is currently in a weak position, to revive itself with a ceasefire.”

It makes sense. Why leave valuable material at a known targeted site? A uranium bomb can be assembled literally in a garage. It doesn’t even need to be tested before use. The uranium for the bomb dropped on Japan was enriched in Tennessee and the bomb finally assembled in a hangar in Saipan. The plutonium for the Trinity test was made in Washington state and the bomb assembled at the top of a tower in New Mexico.

It makes no sense for an Iranian official to say this.

It makes Trump a total sucker and gives Israel and the U.S. reason to continue bombing the crap out of Iran.

If they had it they would have used it! And now, if they had it, they are totally justified in using it.

If they had it and we blew it up it is blowing around in the wind.

If they didn’t have it and we attacked, we are war mongers.

Remember that Israel is a religious faction, just like Iran and it is probably more deranged and aggressive than any nation in history.

Correct. Very hard to get any Bomb Damage Assessment (BDA) a couple hundred feet under ground! Additionally it appears Chinese structural engineers helped to layout the concrete pours, and their testing showed their techniques will turn a penetrating bomb up to 30 degrees on it’s descent, making it unlikely that any bombs ever reached the 250 ft. level to damage anything.

Ha ha ha. Trump didn’t trust that Dems might warn Iran of coming strike!

Top Democrats left in dark on Iran strike plans

Democrats uninformed on Iran strikes

Stephen Neukam / Jun 21, 2025 at 7:47 PM

Top Democrats on Capitol Hill say they weren’t briefed in advance of the U.S. attack on Iran on Saturday, multiple sources familiar with the discussions told Axios.

Why it matters: Democrats left Capitol Hill for the Juneteenth holiday recess without answers to what they said were basic questions about a potential strike against Iran.

• “Cost, duration, risk to our troops, strategy — the basics before we make a decision of this consequence,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told Axios last week.

Zoom in: Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.), the top Democrats on the Senate and House Intelligence panels, weren’t briefed before the attack, sources familiar told Axios on Saturday.

• Their Republican counterparts were given advance notice.

So Trump started with 77 million voters on his side ~ out of 340 million. That leaves 263 million disenfranchised Americans to contend with.

The Balfour Accord in 1917 established Israel as a Jewish nation. It created a religious state within the borders of Palestine which was a democracy.

The Jews have been raising hell ever since. We as a nation should be neutral as the constitution demands.

The U.S. isn’t a democracy. It is a constitutional republic, which precludes democracy. In California we have voter initiatives. When democrats don’t like the outcome, they run to the court in an attempt to overturn the will of the voting people. Newsom even got the state Supreme Court to block a voter initiative from being on the ballot. An attack on democracy. Democrats just love to throw the word democracy around, as if it really meant something.

Not sure at this point I agree with PCR. Russia’s strategy of grinding down Ukraine, a war of attrition, a death by a thousand cuts–may be a good strategy, but I see a lot of cuts coming from the West the last year or so. We’ll see. Add to that, the likelihood of sleeper cells or lone wolf attacks on soft targets here in the U.S. has increased radically.

Trump’s getting suckered into the Israeli genocide program puts the blood that will be spilled when there are attacks on Jewish places of worship here in the U.S. on his hands.

So much division and fanatical hatred has been created through this action and the genocide that is about to be unleashed in Iran.

Didn’t the U.S. unite to stop the last dictator that started attacking its neighbors that were committing genocide? Think WW II

Why exactly are we on this Israeli genocidal maniacs side?

In 1917 Great Britain created Israel via the Balfour Accord. They carved out land in the democratic nation of Palestine to give to the Jews. Simultaneously, they disengaged from recognizing Palestine as a nation. Totally disenfranchising Palestine, a peaceful nation.

The Jews settled and started their nation building and invading neighboring land and starting war, after war, after war. Always playing the victim.

Now they drag us into a war against a basically defenseless nation while simultaneously committing genocide in GAZA.

Sure Iran has oil to take and Trump is doing everything he can to kill clean energy, but does he have to kill all of us in his disregard for human life?

Would you sit back on your heels after 46 years just waiting for your enemy to get the ultimate bomb? Iran did have a hand in 10/7, right? Israel has spent 18 months obliterating Hamas & Hezbollah, & the best I can tell has been kicking the living you know what out of Iran in the last week or so.

No nukes were used.

Anyway, any country could already use nukes. Putin has many times said Russia would have no problem using them in Ukraine if NATO got involved.
