Trump Sends Thousands More Troops and 3 More Warships to the Middle East

One day after saying ‘We’re Not Putting Troops Anywhere’ comes this announcement.

Thousands More Marines Headed to the Mideast

The Wall Street Journal reports Pentagon Sends More Troops to Middle East

The Pentagon is sending three warships and thousands of additional Marines to the Middle East, in the second deployment of Marines to the region in the past week. Roughly 2,200 to 2,500 Marines from the California-based USS Boxer amphibious ready group and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit are heading to the U.S. Central Command, U.S. officials said.

As the war neared the three-week mark, Iran projected defiance, with the new supreme leader declaring that “safety must be taken away” from the country’s enemies and its armed forces vowing to pursue them even in tourist spots.

President Trump again lashed out at NATO members for not joining a U.S. effort to open the Strait of Hormuz, calling the alliance “A PAPER TIGER” on social media.

Paper Tiger Rant

Truth Social: Without the U.S.A., NATO IS A PAPER TIGER! They didn’t want to join the fight to stop a Nuclear Powered Iran. Now that fight is Militarily WON, with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices they are forced to pay, but don’t want to help open the Strait of Hormuz, a simple military maneuver that is the single reason for the high oil prices. So easy for them to do, with so little risk. COWARDS, and we will REMEMBER! President DONALD J. TRUMP

NATO Pulls Troops from Iraq

WSJ: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization said Friday that it had pulled all its personnel from Iraq and moved them to Europe. The staff are focused on training security institutions in the country, which shares a land border of roughly 1,000 miles with Iran and has recently come under attack from its forces.

Iraq has had NATO troops posted there since 2004, and the deployment in recent years has been “a non-combat advisory and capability-building mission” for Iraqi security operations and forces, NATO said. Several hundred personnel were evacuated, a NATO official said. They will now work from a NATO command center in Naples, Italy, NATO said.

NATO Message

Q: What’s the message here?
A: If you don’t want to get involved in needless, stupid wars, don’t put troops in harm’s way.

Reducing troops in the region is a huge slap to Trump’s face.

Trump Seeks $200 for the War, Says ‘We’re Not Putting Troops Anywhere’

Yesterday, I noted Trump Seeks $200 for the War, Says ‘We’re Not Putting Troops Anywhere’

It’s $200 billion today, how much tomorrow?

I am Pleased. Are You?

I’m am sure pleased that the military fight is already won. That’s why we don’t need to send more troops and warships to the Mideast.

Then again, “If I were, I certainly wouldn’t tell you, but I’m not putting troops, and we will do whatever is necessary” to keep the price of gas and oil down, Trump told reporters.

In this case, it’s obvious those extra troops and warships are going to a tea party (which does not constitute as “anywhere”).

The bond market must be equally pleased by the news off troops not going anywhere. Let’s do a fact check on that idea.

Wait! What?

The 30-year yield is up 10 basis points to 4.948 percent.

I thought the bond market would be pleased the war is “militarily won” and “troops are not going anywhere.”

Action Needed

I demand action. I want to see Trump lecture the bond market in a Truth Social post.

That would surely get the bond market in line in a hurry.

U.S. Lifts Sanctions on Some Iranian Oil to Get More to Market

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent estimated that the move would add about 140 million barrels of crude to the oil market.

Alan Rappeport

March 20, 2026, 7:46 p.m. ET

The Treasury Department on Friday temporarily lifted sanctions on Iranian oil that is currently at sea, authorizing it to be sold to most countries. The license applies to oil loaded on vessels as of March 20 and extends until April 19.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent previewed the decision on Thursday and estimated that lifting the sanctions would add about 140 million barrels of crude to the oil market. The move follows the easing of sanctions on Russian oil last week. Mr. Bessent said in a post on X that Iran would see little economic benefit from the removal of the sanctions.

“Iran will have difficulty accessing any revenue generated and the United States will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran and its ability to access the international financial system,” Mr. Bessent said.

As the article states, Iran will have great difficulty getting their hands on the money (due to remaining sanctions). Possibly, a future Dem President similar to Obama or Biden, will give them their $billions back with interest to appease their terrorist state loving voters.

No…Iran already uses the Chinese CIPS system to transfer funds, they will continue to use it, and they won’t have any difficulty.

What customers are Iran selling oil to…..mostly (if not all) to China.

Your comment is as idiotic as Bessents’s.

Likely outcome from a relatively unbiased source…

Summarized from an Indian military analyst:

The United States has already lost its war with Iran in West Asia. The analyst argues that the US entered the conflict without a clear, viable military objective or proper planning, mistakenly focusing on regime change rather than securing the Strait of Hormuz.
Key Points Discussed:

  • Iranian Preparedness: Iran successfully anticipated US actions, learning lessons from a previous 12-day conflict in 2025 to decentralize their command structure. They have utilized extensive underground tunnel networks to protect their missile launchers and sustain a long-term fight.
  • China and Russia Support: Iran is receiving crucial backing from China and Russia. This includes shifting to the Chinese BeiDou navigation system for missile accuracy and receiving war materials from Chinese strategic aircraft.
  • Economic Impact: The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has created a global energy crisis, threatening the petro-dollar system and long-term US economic dominance.
  • Future Outlook: the analyst predicts a quagmire for the US. He suggests the ultimate solution will be a new security architecture for the region involving Iran, Pakistan, and Gulf states, backed by China and Russia, forcing the US to vacate its bases.

Trump has no other choice than continuing the war. Stopping the war means withdrawing from the Gulf and becoming the worst president in US history. Teheran refused Trump’s offer of ceasefire knowing that the US is ill-prepared for longer conflict and has no strategy, only brutal force.

Trump’s gamble that decapitation strike produces regime change didn’t work. His another gamble, that closure of Hormuz Strait outrages the world and he would become a leader of global anti-Iranian coalition didn’t work either.

What’s left is another Afghanistan. The US military is going to win almost every fight but it will lose the war.

Iranians are clever. Hormuz Strait is not closed, it has become a toll booth where Iran charges every tanker $2 million unless it is linked to USA or Israel. Paying $2mio when carrying cargo of $100 million is not a big deal mainly the crude oil at home is running out.

When US Marines come to Hormuz it will be Trump who will close Hormuz Strait because his move will result in fighting and ships will stop sailing. That will upset the world because the world can live with Iranian toll booth.

What if America seizes Kharg Island and offers to buy and sell Persian oil as a normal commercial arrangement? How long would the Persian oil producers hold out against that? What could the mad soldiers of the Revolutionary Guard do about it?

Maybe those Western mercenary companies that always turn up in wars nowadays will be able to make money providing security for the Persian oil producers. Why wouldn’t they? The Ukrainian gig is bound to run down eventually.

The new leader can’t show his face to the sun or he’ll be killed instantly like all the other leaders who are being killed. Who wants to live in a bunker for decades? We thought Bin Laden was in a cave but he was living nicely in a home in Pakistan.

Everyday things get worse for the Iranian people as more and more things are destroyed. Soon food and water will run low along with many other things. Then we’ll see about firm control.

You know nothing about the Shiites. Suffering for their cause is part of their religion, martyrdom in the cause is welcomed. They will endure 10 X the hardship Americans will, and they won’t waver. Every night they are on the streets in pro-Government protests, against Israel and the US. It’s called the ‘really-around-the-flag” effect, and it can clearly be seen.

I watched a video of a live newscast on the street in Tehran, a missile struck a building very close by, and nobody even moved, the interview went on, the crowds shoted “God is Great” and so on, and no one looked panicked or worried in the least. Now contrast that reaction to that of Western citizens if a huge explosion happened a few hundred yards away…they would scream and run in panic, I am sure.

Shut up, know nothing Trumptard

In the 70s, we had to raise interest rates all the way to 20% due to the oil shocks. They were nowhere near as big as the upcoming one if Trump doesn’t get out of the Iran war now. This is a proxy war, the US against Iran, Iran being the proxy of Russia and China. Really dumb on Trump‘s part.

Current news that matters: In 48 hours, Iran attacked 6 refineries across 4 countries. It will take as much as 5 years to bring much of this infrastructure back online.

200,000 troops??? We had 325k against Iraq, with a military less than 1/3 the size of Iran’s and nowhere near as well armed.. Iran is as big as Western Europe. Look at how much trouble Russia has had with Ukraine, and Ukraine is 1/3 the size and population as Iran…Any reputable analysis I’ve read from retired high level military leaders and analysts have noted it’d probably take 3-4 million troops to successfully invade and do a Genghis Khan to Iran because of the fortress-like military configuration of the country. Small numbers are gonna be in and out missions. Trying to take and hold Kharg Island is a fool’s errand, a suicide mission, and will get a lot of American troops killed. It’s the path to a quagmire. Very foolish assessment on your part. Iran can and will crash the Western financial system if this isn’t stopped yesterday.

I think the idea isn’t so much to blow everything up, or to stay long term, as to kill all the messianic religious leaders (and no doubt scare the living daylights out of everyone else), so that a more sober-minded government will come into existence. It could still happen. Assassinating leaders is sometimes considered not to be a nice way of fighting, but it was made into a system by a Moslem, the Old Man of the Mountain, who sent his boys out to kill rulers, on the understanding that they would have a quick trip to Paradise and lots of nice girls.

Religious leaders are such evil people that I think I can forgive Trump for assassinating them.

I think Dems are going to be in a tough spot on this one. Yes, the American people are strongly agaisnt this war, but that doesn’t mean they are against providing the military with what it needs to fight a war that the military has been handed by Trump. You know how a no vote on this will get spun in Nov., particularly in areas that Trump won previously and the Dems are now hoping to pick up. Of course, a yes vote is problematic because then they could lose the Dem base. Going to be a tightrope to walk, and I wish there was someone better than Chuckie to lead the Dems on this.

For those of old enough to remember, this is like Vietnam, although playing out at about 100x speed. The same clueless, belligerent US leadership, and a determined adversary defending its sovereignty. The same fear that an unbalanced US President might resort to nukes. The same lack of defined objectives with little chance of success. The same compliant US news media spewing propaganda, at least in the beginning.

The next test will be whether the Administration will be willing to sacrifice hundreds or thousands of US Troops to avoid admitting its mistake.

I gotta wonder how many troops are going to let themselves be sacrificed. The smart ones have some idea of how wrong this is, and the dumb ones might be wondering why Jesus hasn’t shown up yet after they obediently rang the Jesus Bell.

If you know people that age, talk to them about it.

Possible sabotage by sailors. Possible strike by Iran. Reportedly took 30 hours to extinguish. That’s one helluva laundry fire – if you believe that.

Bob, it is also like Vietnam in the Gulf-of-Tonkin-like lie used to start the war.

One big difference is the harm to the global economy from this barbaric catastrophe, which should alter the way it plays out.

I think drones and missiles are going to make a world and 50 years of difference from Vietnam. I remember in 1972 learning how to set up an ambush using m-16s, m60s and Claymore mines. I also remember the lessons about what to do if caught in an ambush, not fun.
The island in the Strait is a kill box waiting for our marines with nowhere to hide when the explosions start and the air is filled with death.

I don’t think this is anything like Viet Nam, yet. If you remember, the French got kicked out of Viet Nam after a long guerilla war. Kennedy then intervened to save the Catholic establishment that the French had left behind in Saigon.

Then Kennedy was killed. Johnson was corrupt, and kept the war going and expanded it in order to benefit arms manufacturers. American support of the Catholic establishment in Viet Nam forced the majority Buddhists into the arms of the Communists, and things degenerated from there. Eventually, Nixon did the sensible thing, packed up and went home.

Kennedy wouldn’t have been stupid enough to do what Johnson did. Trump isn’t stupid either. I know you leftists like to pretend he is corrupt, because he knows how to make money and has a healthy fondness for women. I don’t see it.

The fact that retarded people can’t see that Trump might have a realistic objective, and the corrupt media will take good care not to explain it to them, doesn’t mean that Trump doesn’t know what he is doing. I might wish that he wasn’t so much tied to Israel, but Kennedy was tied to the Vatican. All politicians have their connections. Trump has apparently chosen to side with the Jews against their Semitic brethren, the Arabs, in their age-old sibling rivalry.

One might also argue that a Semitic nation, Israel, and a Semitic-controlled nation, the United States of America, are joining up to destroy an Aryan nation, Persia. The other Semites, the Arabs, are going along for the ride, not that they have much choice. Perhaps Europe is not sufficiently Semite-controlled.

It makes me laugh, here in Australia, to see our Jewish citizens crying because civilization can’t protect them from the evil Moslems who object to their massacre of the Palestinians. Jews have always been at the forefront of efforts to breed down civilized races and destroy humanity. Now they are starting to pay the price. If the Chinese succeed in destroying and replacing the rest of humanity, as they believe is their right and duty, then the Jews will be destroyed along with the rest of us.

Show me a single flaw in my reasoning, you sons of Moloch.

We don’t know what JFK had planned. He did send a thousand advisers to Vietnam; it appeared he was gathering intelligence for an invasion. Rewind to his inauguration speech, the fool would pay any price to spread democracy. JFK was a cold waw idiot , like LBJ, it’s hard to imagine he was wiser.

I think that just as you can’t take everything that Trump says literally, you shouldn’t have taken everything that JFK said literally. I know he said some pretty wild things in his early campaigning days (was it really his inauguration speech?), but politicians do that. Sometimes they come to regret it.

Remember that in those days, there did seem to be a real possibility that Communism would take over the world. For people who aren’t consumed by class hatred, that is a pretty frightening possibility. Recent decades have shown what Machiavelli knew five hundred years ago, that democracy is no guarantee of individual rights, either. But even now, although there may be many improper laws, there are still processes. If you don’t stand on your rights but make a discreet withdrawal, and perhaps if you don’t live in a state like California, you can usually survive. You may not be able to have much self-respect, but you can survive. If Communism was as bad as it sounded to us, living under Communism would have been even more degrading than living under feminists and racial-equality fanatics.

Netanyahu stated yesterday that ground troops would be needed. He is likely convincing Trump’s bones that American heavy casualties will result in patriotic fervor against Iran and improve his chances in Nov 2026.

NonTrumpist republican congressman need to sever the cord, put their collective feet down, and immediately and quickly inform this American Israeli administration: NO funding for Iraq/Afghanistan-like quicksand wars.

All those congressman will be bought off to ensure they don’t vote against the war.

They all get paid by insider stock trades and knowing which companies will profit after this finally ends (ie rebuilding projects) will be their payoff.

2500 is definitely on the low side of thousands, and added to the 2500 already there it still couldn’t take on 92 million people armed with rocks, even with air support.

Their unrestricted version of ChatGPT has probably told them that powning Kharg island is the way out of this mess, and congratulated them for the way their incredibly insightful questions led to this brilliant conclusion.

I’ve found ChatGPT to get things wrong a lot more often than the other LMs I use, to the point i cancelled my subscription because the free alternatives were better.

It’s terrifying ChatGPT is what these decisions are being made with. They fired the competent people, and the dumbasses are using it to look smart.

Nothing good will come of this.

Iran will probably demand that the US and Israel pay for the reconstruction of Iran or they will not let ships through the strait. And they will require construction to be done by Chinese companies because they don’t trust US or Israeli companies.

Not if Iran becomes a slave state to Israel. BiBi’s announcement that the oil will be piped through Israel, guarantees that the US will build it for Israel on the backs of American taxpayers.

The contracts will all go to China, Pakistan and North Korea. Pakistan and North Korea for the nukes that Iran will need for future defense and or deterrent.
