Trump to Buy a Red Tesla, Does Photo-Op Infomercial with Elon Musk

Don’t you just love it when the world’s most powerful man does an infomercial for the world’s richest man despite hating EVs?

Photo-Op Infomercial for Tesla

The Wall Street Journal reports Trump, Hater of EVs, Says He’s Buying a Tesla

Joe Biden held himself out as the most climate-friendly president ever to hold office, but relished his gas-guzzling Corvette Stingray. President Trump wants to drill-baby-drill and, on Tuesday, was in the market for an electric vehicle.

Trump didn’t just want any electric vehicle. He was on a mission to purchase a Tesla—a sop to his adviser Elon Musk, who happens to be the car company’s chief executive. Trump campaigned extensively against Biden’s electric vehicle mandates and in February moved to pause the construction of charging-station infrastructure.

The scene Tuesday was notable in other ways: It showed the most powerful man in the world lending support to the richest man in the world. Other presidents have used cars as props—though not to prop up the fortunes of their staff.

On Tuesday at the White House, a silver Cybertruck glistened in the sun for the president to inspect. But Trump folded his 6-foot-3-inch frame into a red Tesla sedan with Musk standing nearby. “Watch the Secret Service go crazy,” Trump said.

“If you actually drove it around, it would really be wild,” Musk observed, and then entered the vehicle on the passenger side.

“Wow. That’s beautiful,” Trump gushed as he appraised a computer panel near the steering wheel. He didn’t drive the car, but he said it was the one he would buy.

Musk admitted this week that his D.C. job is causing strain elsewhere. Asked by Fox Business host Larry Kudlow about how he is managing to run his businesses while slashing the federal government, he deadpanned: “With great difficulty.”

Trump, pressed Tuesday by a reporter about when Musk would depart government service, said the topic had been on his mind. “I think he’ll know when it’s time,” he said.

Musk offered a diplomatic response: “I’ll stay as long as it’s useful and I’m productive.”

Trump, who frequently brags about his prowess as a negotiator, said he wasn’t looking for a deal on a Tesla. “I’m president,” he said, “so I want to pay full price.”

Where Will Trump Drive the Tesla?

Perhaps nowhere because the Secret Service won’t allow that except in controlled situations, and never on public roads.

Maybe he tools around the rose garden or something. But his staff will get to drive it.

A rather silly photo op, and advertisement, yet really nothing of consequence. DOGE is exposing some very substantial corruption. That it is being resisted, sometimes with success (hopefully temporary) is predictable. I admire the fact Musk is prepared to lose money in pursuit of a needed political goal. If only more wealthy individuals were like that.

Biden promoted a lot of cars. He had them all lined up in front of the stage in 2020. He also promoted his own car his Daddy gave him. A gas gussling Vett despite also bashing gas cars. Trump does damn near the same thing and pearls start bouncing all over the floor…meh.

The Cyber truck is a nice car. Impractical but so was the Delorean. The Delorean did have better stainless steel from what I’ve heard. Cyber truck, some are saying the stainless steel is already rusting. Likely true. It’s a thinner sheet metal. Delorean, I don’t recall ever hearing about rust.

I’ll bet Trump has been doing stuff like that for clients for his entire career. It’s all part of doing business with the rich and powerful.

Does Musk get a free hall pass on the steel and aluminum tariffs? Does he get credited by paying in $TRUMP or MELANIA tokens to the “strategic crypto reserve”? Will he wear the golden sneakers?

Wall street pay the doomsday industry to go full steam, to scare, in order to buy at wholesale prices from the weak hands. The dems are mocking Trump’s first one hundred days. First they mock, then they attack, before losing the tariffs war against Trump.

The Democrats aren’t fighting a tariff war. They are happy to hand outsized profits to steel and aluminum manufacturers and support their labor unions. Tariffs are a leftist policy.

Don’t be commenting here unless you are willing and able to lose everything in your on line accounts.

Fortunately I had my super sleuth gy-normass nut sackiest root, root, and root some more.

Gy nor masss ball sack was able to recover everything and even found a cache of ketamine!

Binge Binge bigly binging!!!

Shout out to the big trumponion for the inside information on tariffs threats!

I’ve doubled my real net worth the last few sessions shorting!

Feel a little bit sad for Martha Stewart, little bit, only…

Then, just because I’m a genius USAID called and offered me all that peanut paste at ten cents on the dollar!

Made one call and sold it for triple what those government leeches were selling it for to those starving kids.

Don’t fret, I’m going to use the profits to send cyber trucks to Ukraine to haul the rare earth minerals?

Anyway, don’t post here what you can’t afford to lose.

I can’t tell which parts of this comment are tongue-in-cheek, and which are things that might be regarded as serious, and I mean (just maybe as) legally consequential, including, for the commenter. And this comment is of mine not tongue-in-cheek, it is straight-faced. A serious claim implying this site has inadequate security resulting in pecuniary loss — wow, if I were you, I would think about that, or perhaps ask a lawyer about it. (If it were true, perhaps the proprietor should consider a cybersecurity review, but if so, why are all the jokes mixed in?) I say this in friendly positive seriousness. It’s very murky, as is.
It’s just that the mix of imaginative satire with this particular content is, to me, and I’m just a random ordinary fool (not presenting myself as an expert), confusing, and capable of misunderstanding. I mean, in what seems a very unfunny legal sort. So what is it? if there are facts, what are they particularly, but is it appropriate anyway to vent that here widely, in some obscure vague humorous post? Is the point that Musk is bad, or that somebody allegedly actually ripped you off through this site? Why stir up both in such a veiled and imprecise manner?

Hey, if I could afford to buy one as a sort of toy for pleasure driving I would buy one in a flash. They are a great car. Why do liberals sneer and make personal comments about anyone who is different from them?

I think e.v. mandates are terrible. Doesn’t mean I won’t drive an electric car if one is provided. I think mandated reliance on renewables is terrible but that doesn’t mean I feel the need to express extreme contempt for anyone who uses and enjoys a product that is powered somehow by renewables.

Go Figure VLVLY Stock ADR has doubled since Mutha-Trucker-Trump Photo-Op:

On March 23, 2017, President Donald Trump sat in the cab of a Mack truck, specifically a Mack 18-wheeler, during an event with trucking industry representatives at the White House. The truck was parked on the South Lawn as part of a meeting with members of the American Trucking Associations to discuss healthcare and other issues affecting the trucking industry.

Mack Trucks is currently owned by the Volvo Group, a Swedish multinational manufacturing company. Volvo acquired Mack Trucks in 2000 as part of its purchase of Renault VI, which had previously owned Mack Trucks since 1990.

Any here see Tesla doubles in less than 7 years? VLVLY actually lost value in 2020 and fell 35% BELOW it’s 2017 price only to recover from 11’s to close at 31.56 today.

The irony of EV hating MAGA watching their cult leader sitting in and buying an EV. If this were a soap opera it would be unbelievable but life is stranger than fiction.

I guess it’s important one billionaire take care of another. The other irony here is I doubt EV hating MAGA will go out and buy Teslas and the left will hate trump and elon even more so it’s lose-lose for trump/elon.

I see daily news reports of vandalism/swastikas attacks on Teslas and their owners and I expect that to escalate to outright violence soon enough although that’s already happened.

Once again, the logical inconsistency rears it’s ugly head with these folks.

Of course the Democrat’s goons (AntiFa) will cause more vandalism and eventually will resort to violence.

They have billions in grant money from the Birdbrain Biden administration that will finance protests, vandalism, violence, and riots through their “pass-throughs and middle men” like Stacey Abrams non profits as well as Act Blue and Bend the Arc.
