65 Percent of Democrats Now Want Biden to Drop Out

A new AP-NORC polls shows nearly two out of three Democrats want Biden to exit the race.

AP-NORC Poll

Please consider a new AP-NORC Poll on Democrat Voter Preferences.

Nearly two-thirds of Democrats say President Joe Biden should withdraw from the presidential race and let his party nominate a different candidate, according to a new poll, sharply undercutting his post-debate claim that “average Democrats” are still with him even if some “big names” are turning on him.

The new survey by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, conducted as Biden works to salvage his candidacy two weeks after his debate flop, also found that only about 3 in 10 Democrats are extremely or very confident that he has the mental capability to serve effectively as president, down slightly from 40% in an AP-NORC poll in February.

The findings underscore the challenges the 81-year-old president faces as he tries to silence calls from within his own party to leave the race and tries to convince Democrats that he’s the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump. The poll was conducted mostly before Saturday’s assassination attempt on Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. It’s unclear whether the shooting influenced people’s views of Biden, but the small number of poll interviews completed after the shooting provided no early indication that his prospects improved.

About 6 in 10 Americans want Trump to withdraw — but relatively few Republicans are in that camp.

As for Biden, younger Democrats are especially likely to want to see him bow out – and to say they’re dissatisfied with him. Three-quarters of Democrats under the age of 45 want Biden to drop out, compared to about 6 in 10 of those who are older.

D.N.C. Aims to Push Biden Toward Nomination Next Week

The Democratic convention starts on Monday, Aug. 19, and runs through Thursday, Aug. 22.

Biden rates to be the official nominee long before then. The DNC rules committee meets July 21 and well before the convention, Biden will be the official nominee.

The New York Times reports D.N.C. Aims to Push Biden Toward Nomination Next Week

Leaders of the Democratic National Committee are moving swiftly to confirm President Biden as his party’s presidential nominee by the end of July, according to four people briefed on the matter who insisted on anonymity to discuss the sensitive deliberations.

The move would formalize Mr. Biden as the nominee at a moment when Democrats are torn over whether he should run again after his poor debate performance.

The process will effectively begin when the rules committee of the Democratic National Convention meets on a video call at 11 a.m. on Friday, followed by another party group on Sunday. All of the more than 4,000 delegates are expected to begin casting their ballots as soon as Monday, a process that is likely to take about a week. After that, the committee is expected to quickly hold the roll call, a tradition that typically occurs on the convention floor but is being held virtually this year.

The roll call process was planned long ago because of an Ohio requirement to have nominees by August 7 but Ohio changed its law.

There is no need for the DNC to meet early, but it will do so anyway.

House Democrats Warn DNC

The Hill reports House Democrats Warn DNC Against Moving Ahead with Virtual Roll Call to Nominate Biden

Members are circulating a letter to the DNC, which was obtained by The Hill, arguing it is “a terrible idea” to take an “unnecessary and unprecedented” roll-call vote, contending that it could “deeply undermine the morale and unity of Democrats … at the worst possible time.”

“There is no legal justification for this extraordinary and unprecedented action, which would effectively accelerate the nomination process by nearly a month,” the letter read, adding that the justification for the virtual roll call is no longer “valid.”

The members also noted that Biden has said to members of Congress in recent days that if a Democrat wants to challenge his nomination, they can do so at the convention. [That was a lie because the convention will be too late, by weeks].

Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.), who is signing the letter, told The Hill in a brief interview that a “substantial number” of lawmakers are supportive of the effort. “They should do the right thing and pull down this dumb idea instead of accelerating the nomination by a full month,” he said.

It’s the Plan, Stupid!

My theory, but I have not yet found a single person who agrees, is that Biden (rather Biden’s handlers), want Biden to hang on until the DNC makes Biden the official nominee.

As discussed above, that will be before the end of the month. As soon as that happens, it kills an open convention and make it impossible for anyone other than Kamala Harris to become the nominee.

Understanding the Goal

If the real goal is to make it 100 percent sure that Kamala is on the ticket avoiding a messy open convention, then everything makes sense.

For discussion, please see Is Biden Bluffing or Do Democrats Have a Defendable Strategy?

Is it possible Biden’s handlers know exactly what they are doing?

That is the key question. I propose Biden is out, but he does not know it yet. Here’s my scenario.

Defendable Strategy Theory

  1. Biden has no idea what he is doing.
  2. If Biden drops out now we would have an open convention, and possibly a destructive one.
  3. Whoever is really calling the shots wants Biden to hang on at least until the DNC makes Biden/Harris the official candidates.
  4. Once Biden/Harris is official, there is no chance of an open convention, and Harris is guaranteed to be on the ticket.
  5. If Biden then drops out, the DNC will make Harris the Presidential candidate.

Does anyone disagree with any of those points?

Assuming those points are well agreed with, it does not take that much of a leap of faith to see Biden dropping out sometime between the end of July and the start of the convention on August 19.

That gives Biden over two weeks to make a major flub, have a medical doctor confirm he is unfit, or most of the Democrats in Congress decide it is time for him to go and Biden finally relents.

Under this theory, Biden only needs to hang on until the end of July.

Difficult to Prove My Theory Correct

Curiously, it is difficult to prove my theory correct. Suppose everything happens as I suggest and Biden drops out after he is nominated later this month.

Was that the plan, or happenstance?

That’s another beauty of my theory. No one can prove it except those who won’t. How convenient is that?

If Biden lasts through the end of the live convention on August 22, my theory bites the dust.

However, Biden dropping out early does not disprove my theory. It only means events progressed passed Biden’s or his handlers ability to contain them,

Biden Seeks Supreme Court Term Limits, Medical Debt Cancellation, Rent Controls

Whoever is behind Biden’s campaign has gone completely mad. Is the goal to make Vance and Trump look like centrists?

Please note Biden Seeks Supreme Court Term Limits, Medical Debt Cancellation, Rent Controls

Whoever is calling the shots may be completely insane from one perspective, yet have a plan to dump Biden that makes sense. Isn’t that special?!

We will find out by August 22.

Another scenario:

  1. Barack phones James Clyburn and asks if he’d endorse Kamala if Joe drops out.
  2. Clyburn says, “Hell no — Trump is winning in a landslide anyway. Then everyone will blame that black woman!”
  3. Barack phones Bernie and asks if he’d endorse AOC if Joe drops out.
  4. Bernie says, “Hell no, Trump is winning in a landslide anyway. Then everyone will blame that Hispanic woman!”
  5. Barack phones the Valkyrie and asks whom she’d endorse if Joe drops out.
  6. “Why, Me of course!”
  7. Joe drops out. DNC and the MSM chant “Hillary in 2024!”
  8. Hillary nominated in August convention
  9. Hillary flaps her leathery wings and shrieks “Caw! Caw!” for her acceptance speech.

Pelosi has apparently moved from pushing Biden to make a decision he already made, to actively pushing to get Biden to drop out. Corrupt Adam Schiff wants Corrupt Biden to drop out. Irony. Democrats are exposing just how much they hate democracy.

It’s a not a large amount of money and Harris herself doesn’t get to throw a hissy fit and keep the money for her own use. It will have to either be returned to the donors or distributed some other way.

Regardless, there are plenty of Dem billionaires that could easily write a $250 million check and call it square.

Another source recalled something I’d forgotten (because I knew it was not gonna happen anyway): that Brandon said in 2020 that he’d be a transitional President and only have the job 4 years, suggesting at the same time, if I recall properly, that he’d be the last old white President and a young person of color would take his place. This was toward the end of the nationwide George Floyd Campaign Rally for Democracy (also known as the “Summer of Love” in Seattle’s CHOP zone).

Brandon’s reason for staying put comes down to more than his greedy stubbornness or his wife’s guile. Since its clear he doesn’t function as an executive, his cabinet is running the whole show without him, and they are having a great time of it. This is not something that can end. It reminds me of Dave (1993), a political comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman, starring Kevin Kline as Dave Kovic, a lookalike who becomes a stand-in for the President of the United States. The point of the film is that the cabinet runs the show and just needs a front man to capture all the photo flashes.

That’s Brandon’s job today. And its a part-time job at that.

How about this scenario:

  1. DNC “virtual vote” confirms Biden/Harris
  2. Biden withdraws, giving Harris a “shot”
  3. Harris goes on tour, makes her case for 3 weeks
  4. Party reads the polls of Harris vs. Trump
  5. Harris says she won’t run for good of country, releases her delegates
  6. Open Convention

I think point 5 is where the theory breaks. Kamala is the kind of moron that lacks the self-awareness to know or acknowledge how stupid she actually is. This is a trait that is especially common in professional women who are coddled by the culture to believe in the myth of their own competence. These are the women most likely to complain about men and how they had to break down the glass ceiling and such nonsense.

Does anyone else see the D party’s current position as being a bit like when they were in the middle of their Iowa vote-counting fiasco? Sort of like watching Laurel and Hardy. Even the D comedians tell jokes and get laughs about themselves.

Buckle up, though. Demographics says incompetence will be the norm for some time. In the next few decades there will simply not be enough people to maintain the current standard of living, absent super-automation. I think the Earth and humanity will win the race of super-automation against population loss.

Just a few quick questions, to clarify things for me a bit. I can’t seem to come up with an adequate answer myself?

– How does one expect to be Nominated by their Party for anything, never mind the Presidency, when nearly two-thirds of said Party (of Democrats), say President Joe Biden should withdraw from the presidential race and let his party nominate a different candidate?

– How does one even come to the conclusion to run for the Presidency, when only around 3 in 10 of said Party (of Democrats) are confident that he has the mental capability to serve effectively as The President?

– Heap on top of all of that, a rather Bold and Stern Warning from the DNC, about having any “Virtual Roll Call” (For Joe) coming into consideration anytime soon…

Just curious…

For starters, He rarely says the same thing twice. He tries really hard, but can’t seem to repeat the same verbiage, and often strays afar when trying to. Ironically, this doesn’t allow Him to be pinned down on any one topic. You say: He said Red! MSM say: He said Blue! When he actually said Both, but just at different times.

He also has the benefit of people feeling sorry for Him. Emotion in Politics is huge! Without even realizing it, his Medical Issues, whatever they may be, are in some cases helping him with bleeding hearts, elderly, TDS affected, and the likes…

He does have “Name” recognition, albeit mostly negative, but to those that just vote blindly, ignorantly, or by a name, He gets their vote. There is definitely something to be said for: All Press is Good Press, Good or Bad, and in His case, it’s saving him to still be a consideration by many in the Party…

Appointed under Trump, Dr. Redfield served as the CDC director under President Biden, who he claims insisted the health agency suppress data regarding adverse reactions to prevent vaccination hesitancy. “There was not appropriate transparency from the beginning about the potential side effects of these vaccines, and I do think there were inappropriate decisions by some to try to underreport any side effects because they argued that would make the public less likely to get vaccinated,” Redfield testified. The government KNEW that the vaccines were neither safe nor effective, as did the health agencies. Still, they insisted that the public take the experimental vaccine to participate in society.

Redfield is now stating that he believes the vaccine data should be released immediately rather than 2026. Whoever is president during the data dump will face the wrath of the public. The Food and Drug Administration still refuses to admit that the vaccine has potentially lethal side effects in order to continue persuading the public to undergo booster shots. “They never should have been mandated,” the former director said. “It should have been open to personal choice. They don’t prevent infection, they do have side effects.”

I have posted repeatedly that the plan has always been for Biden to bow out AFTER he wins the election and then elevates Harris to the job, because on her own, she has zero chance of ever getting elected. This is why all the black politicos and pundits are pushing for Biden to stay in the race. Of course, they need Biden to actually win and that is looking less likely daily.

So your plan might make more sense now. Unfortunately, having Harris at the top of the 2024 ticket is also a loser for the Dems.

I wonder if the Congressional Black Caucus has reached the same conclusion and are lobbying Black Dems to push to keep Biden on the ticket? As the poll in your article shows most Black Dems want Biden to stay put.

The problem is that handing someone (Kamala) something they haven’t earned (the nomination if Biden drops out) is not going to endear her to anyone or help her chances of winning the election. This is true of pretty much anything in real life, not just politics.

Winning an open convention is the only way you prove to everyone that you earned the nomination and deserve to be president if you beat Trump.

The amazing thing about that poll is that THIRTY FIVE PERCENT want the Imbecile to REMAIN the candidate

What can one do with people who simply willfully fail to use REASON

That pretty much includes ALL Democrats and over half of Republicans as well

There are many possible outcomes over the final stretch of this Fourth Turning, but I fail to see at this time how we come out with SPRING a decade or so from now

At this point I would say literally all of the registered Democrat and Republican voters are brain dead as far as politics go.

you could have stopped at brain dead…and I’m a bit doubtful of independents and communists as well, as a matter of fact I think the whole reality has been manufactured to manipulate the unwary and the unlucky. Pity is we don’t get to chose the world we live in, but be aware and strive on and don’t rest your fortunes on your rulers for they are poor investments indeed.

I’m not much into the Fourth Turning mumbo-jumbo, but change is on the horizon.

Yes, 35% — all with TDS. They all need to go in and get their 5th or 6th Covid booster shot, that oughta lower the percentages a bit.

the fourth turning is simply demographics and economics transformed into a palatable read by categorizing things into easily understood memes, like Heroes, and Artists.

It has lots of underlying truth, but it cannot predict single events or people, only trends and timelines.

But the Republicans who want him to stay in are responding that way for tactical reasons, they’re assuming he’s the easiest to beat.

no they are assuming he’s toast, and his handlers are the ones that must be bested. Joe is no longer on the Chess board, they are chasing his shadow.

The way our election laws are structured, he is the only candidate to best, but he is not a true candidate, he is a construct of the people pulling the strings. This was obvious from the terrible campaign he ran last time. Its only now that his mental degeneration has progressed that it can no longer be hidden that the general population is noticing and allowed to talk about it in public.
There is a reason they want to eliminate online discussion, it makes it harder to control the story. The construct. The reality that they make for you to live in.

Nonsense. It is the height of hubris to expect that all reasonable people must agree with you.

Reason alone is insufficient. You need accurate input data (premises) to reach accurate conclusions. The media are actively denying people accurate data, so of course some of them are going to reach flawed conclusions.

And actually, even with identical premises, reasonable people can still reach different conclusions, because there is always a natural and fairly broad distribution of genetically and/or environmentally set value-preferences.

And even for people with identical preferences, there’s still going to be a range of opinions on a given issue depending on how the options impact them personally.

you are given the facts, and you are given a range of “proper” choices. Just as you are controlled by the language you are allowed to use, you are controlled by the stories you are told and the choices presented.

your life is lived in an Overton Window, and the view, to be humble, ain’t that great.

some of that support is a reflection of the strength of modern propaganda. Mass media and internets help it reverberate within their unthinking, mostly feeling minds. another bit is simply saboteurs, inflating the numbers to keep the quest through quicksand going until the supply lines can be cut as the party sinks into obscurity…

The other 35% want him to get electrocuted.

can’t harm a dead man, and when you mind goes, you are just walking meat to be totally honest. As terrible as it is to witness, if we live long enough we too will walk that path. I can’t blame Joe for the last 4 years, more likely Jill and the rest of the Maryland Mafia have been running things. The world is a cruel place and the irony is those who espouse compassion most, have the least of it.

The rose always has thorns. Beware the scent that beckons you, it isn’t random, it calls you for a reason. We are witnessing cracks in the deepstate, watch for rats scrambling out the holes..

Hey Joe! I thought you said this was a Democracy? If 65% percent of the Democratic Party want you to shuffle on off to Buffalo, what gives?

I was going to say I just want him to shuffle off to Delaware. But no, I hope he stays because then Democrats should get destroyed this election and not just the white house.
Or, than can cheat like never before
Imagine he stays, and wins the election? Never say never.
I see dead people. And they vote Democrat

I think that the shit filter is full for most people now. If Joe “won”, the country would be in dire straights. Very bad. No one wants that. Anyhow, the Dems dysfunction is on full display, the final blow is inflation. Numbers going down lol. People don’t care. They care what milk, cereal eggs, rent etc cost and its a lot higher than when the Puppet was placed on the throne.
