No Labels Questions and Answers
- Do they have a candidate? No
- Why don’t they have a candidate? Because they fear it will benefit Trump. No one prominent wants to go down as taking the blame for Trump winning.
- Would a No Labels ticket take more votes away from Biden or Trump? Most likely Biden, but that is a guess and it depends on the nominee.
- Trump has a slogan, Make America Great Again. What does No Labels have? Nothing
- Are they Left or Right? Officially, they want to be neither Left nor Right. This is quite similar to the stated position of French President Emmanuel Macron who did run on a “Neither Left nor Right” platform. Macron won. No Labels will not win a single state even if the party selects a candidate.
- Who are the leading candidates? Senator Joe Manchin and Representative Dean Phillips are reportedly considering.
- What are Dean Phillips positions? He has voted with Biden’s stated policy positions 100 percent of the time.
- Can someone who has voted with Biden 100 percent of the time possibly be considered either non-partisan or moderate? No, of course not.
- Has No Labels ruled out Dean Phillips? No, They are in “regular communication” according to the New York Times.

However, the slate of persons No Labels is entertaining conveys a different, very political, message.
Dean Phillips on Biden
“He’s a president of great competence and success, I admire the heck out of President Biden,” Phillips said in February.
“And if he were 15-20 years younger it would be a no-brainer to nominate him, but considering his age it’s absurd we’re not promoting competition but trying to extinguish it.”

No Labels has not ruled out someone exactly like Biden. This explains why No Labels fears taking votes away from Biden. It also makes a sham of the No Labels name.
Nikki Haley?!
On January 18, former Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat turned independent who is a co-founder of No Labels, said the group would give the “most serious consideration” to Nikki Haley if she wants to be on its ticket (after losing the GOP nomination).
That No Labels has failed to denounce Dean Phillips and would actively consider Nikki Haley tells you that No Labels really has a label.

No Labels highest priority right now is political. Well, let’s see who they come up with.
The founders made it so that it is effectively a two party system. They didn’t want a European system. They designed it not to be like Europe.

Never heard of it. But if they think that Biden is doing a great job, they need their heads examined. They’d be better off trying to triangulate like Clinton or Truman. But Biden would arrest them or target them for assassination like he has Robert F Kennedy Jr by not giving Secret Service protection.
If they put North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum on top and Manchin #2, they would fulfill their mission and get my vote. Otherwise, they’ll be what they have always been: Liberal Democrats under another label, pun intended. I have some hopes for them, but no real expectations.

Based upon your piece, No Labels Party is TDS in a self-described nondescript form. Not giving it a lable doesn’t change what it is, at least as written here. ABT is really TDS. And all of which are more polite or indirect ways of calling those who support the former Presdient, which folks seem to forget that he is not simply candidate Trump, Deplorables and then MAGA Republicans perjoratively. I tend to express my support for the former President in a Jamie Dimon fashion and in reality there are millions like that. The culture wars aren’t pointless, the Left moved from economic issues to cultural issues many decades ago. They live in their own reality where eight year olds need gender affirming surgery and have been reengineering society to support their world view via media and immigration.
Your knee jerk response is partly why the US will fail. Refusal to accept responsibility. Name calling and labeling. Blaiming others. If you gathered a group of random people at an international airport, would they be a “nation”? Nope. No common culture or honored history. No borders and no standards for citizenship/entry. It is not a surprise that No-Labels aligns itself more closely with candidates with policy positions that are very similar to President Biden’s. Joe Biden has been a moderate politician for his 50+ year political career. Barack Obama chose him for VP precisely for that reason. I admit that President Biden has veered slightly to the left since being elected President, but Tigers do not change their stripes, and he is a very astute politician. So, it is likely that we will not see a full-blown No-Labels campaign, as doing so would likely take votes away from the only Moderate in the race that can win.

There were no population-wide vaccine mandates. However, with more Americans dying from a novel virus global pandemic in two years than Americans were killed over four years fighting WWII, the Federal government was compelled from a policy standpoint to make all legal attempts to reduce the spread of the virus.Regarding vaccines, which undoubtedly kept millions of people who contracted the virus from developing severe illness leading to hospitalizations. With viral infections, serious illness is associated with a high viral load, and a high viral load makes a person more contagious. You may not believe that it is the government’s role to regulate safety measures to reduce injuries, serious illness, and health/accident-related deaths, but that flies in the face of a 100+ year history of regulating water systems, food processing, the workplace, the roads, bridges, and skies to promote safety and save lives. These efforts have undoubtedly saved 10s of millions of lives over time.
It was entirely “do what we say or you can’t work”, in places like Canada, it was even more extreme. Covid was only dangerous to sick old people, and the vaccines didn’t even stop the spread. I was mandated to get the vaccine and it didn’t stop me from getting Covid anyways.
The objective was never “stop the spread,” the objective was to slow the spread. And, yes, to hell with the older or sicker Americans. Do you think those at the most risk only became infected through contact with other older and sicker Americans? Or, just maybe, they contracted the virus from their caregivers, children, or grandchildren. By the way, younger and healthier people also got very sick, and some died early on before the vaccines were available. I honestly do not understand why some people became so anti-vaccine. I have had the original two shots and three boosters. I was not at all nervous or worried about possible side effects. But I understand how replicating the virus’ spike protein triggered the human body to build up its natural defenses against a virus that otherwise the body would not recognize robustly. I also understand that this technology has been developing for over 20 years. Additionally, I know that when you administer any drug or biologic in 10s of millions of people, a tiny percentage of that population will have more severe side effects than the vast majority.

It is understandable to forget the objective, since it was/is variable, but it most certainly was about stopping the ‘spread’ at one time. Claims of ‘herd immunity’ and trying to attain an arbitrary 70% vaccination rate were used back in 2020-21.

The vaccinations were first about protecting one’s health (for a brief time they were advertised as a preventative measure), then it was to protect others, finally it landed on reducing occurence of “severe illness”. Clearly the last point has struck a chord with you, as you posted:

Maybe No Labels should set their expectations on anything but POTUS. Unseating Progressives from Congress and State governments would be an improvement.
No Labels has always been a way to take votes from Republican candidates. They are just another group of big government supporters. It’s a mask of superiority that they can wear.
It would be a lot better to ban all political funding, and force people to run on a minimalistic no frills all substance ticket, but that’s not ever going to happen.
Failing that, selecting president-for-a-day candidates by random might be better.
