Second Debate Cancelled, Biden Wins by Default

“Not Going to Waste My Time”

Yesterday, Trump announced “I’m not going to waste my time on a virtual debate.”

Today, NPR reports Thursday’s Presidential Debate Canceled After Spat Over Coronavirus Safety Concerns.

“On October 8, CPD announced that for the health and safety of all involved, the second presidential debate, scheduled for October 15 in Miami, would be conducted virtually,” the commission said in a statement Friday.

“Subsequently, the campaigns of the two candidates who qualified for participation in the debate made a series of statements concerning their respective positions regarding their willingness to participate in a virtual debate on October 15, and each now has announced alternate plans for that date.

“It is now apparent there will be no debate on October 15,” the commission said.

Organizers said the final debate on Oct. 22 is still scheduled to take place at Belmont University in Nashville with testing, masking and social distancing protocols in place. It will be a one-on-one debate moderated by NBC News correspondent Kristen Welker.

Victory by Default

Trump desperately needed a debate knockout. Anything else was a loss.

Not showing up was a big loss.

Instead, Biden will conduct a Town Hall style meeting virtually and Trump will campaign in person in Florida.

There never was going to be a debate anyway, just another Biden & fake “moderator” ambush of Trump, like was done with Democrat Wallace advocating for Biden.
“Moderator” 2 was an intern for Biden and was anti-Trump.

Moderator number 2 should be FIRED by C-SPAN after he was caught scheming with Mooch and then LIED his Twitter account was hacked (and hackers instead of writing F… Trump or something like that sent a message to Mooch which Mooch responded to like as part of conversation) and got C-SPAN to also repeat the LIE that his twitter account was hacked.

I’m still very worried about Trump….when I hear interviews with ordinary people who are attracted to him…..because usually their level of understanding anything having to do with policy…..is very, very low.

The recent interviews I heard on the radio this last week of Trump supporters in Pennsylvania……they respond to the kind of MAGA sloganeering that any thinking person has to laugh at.

In their minds they are creating a Trump they want to believe in…a hero who is going to bring back the jobs and reverse the negative effects of 40 years of globalism.

The Trump they believe in is not the real Trump…..he’s the guy they WANT…the equivalent of a brawling comic book superhero battling a political establishment they blame for their decline in standard of living.

So all the bad stuff…..the racism, the bad trade policies, his attempts to subvert every institution, get away with all kinds of misbehavior and avoid the legal system by appointing a loyal sycophant to pervert the Justice Department…..to destroy diplomacy by putting another opportunistic sycophant in charge of the State Department…..these really scary things….go right over their heads.

Elections have nothing to do with thinking people, that’s why the bigger spenders more less win. How could anyone think Bush Jr was ‘authentic’ with his learnt Texas mannerisms and speech (he practised, took years), but that was the most used description? If it was thought that counted, a third party candidate would have more than a microscopic chance.

Are you talking about Eric Holder (Obama DOJ puppet who ran the guns to Mexican cartels and had IRS and Lois Lerner harass Tea Party organizations) or Loretta Lynch (intervened in the Clinton email investigation and demanded it must be called a “matter” and met Bill Clinton on the tarmac to “talk about families”)?

Obama SURVERTED DOJ, CIA and FBI so totally that it caused the Operation Crossfire Hurricane (to put Trump into a hurricane of crossfire) investigating “Russia Collusion” that was the idea hatched up by Hillary Clinton to divert attention from her 33k deleted emails and private email server to HIDE the CORRUPTION with Hillary led State Department and Clinton Foundation donations from FOIA requests and Comey’s RIDICULOUS investigation of her emails (sure, go ahead and delete 33k emails and YOU can pick which emails you show FBI and I will give IMMUNITY to all people working for you Hillary before they testify so they can talk BS with no repercussions whatsoever and when Wiener’s laptop turned up synced with all the emails FBI did just some word searches and did NOT even look at the emails).

CIA’s Brennan BRIEFED Obama about Hillary’s plans and to complete the plans Hillary ordered and paid for the Steele Dossier full of bogus claims and lies told by a Russian living long term in USA and working for a Democrat thinktank.

Whole Dossier was manufactured garbage and yet Democrats screamed Russia Collusion for 3 years and leaked selectively to Democrat friendly reporters and Obama’s CORRUPTED DOJ full of crooks did NOTHING other than let Mueller and Weissman harass anybody related to Trump with threats and baseless investigations and threatened to lock up Flynn’s son for foreign agent registration violation over some consulting sone for Turkey unless Flynn pled guilty on a madeup charge and FBI/DOJ withheld exculpatory evidence and FBI LIED to FISA court repeatedly to get Trump under total surveillance through Carter Page and NSA’s two-hop rule even while Trump was president (Carter Page under FISA court allowed surveillance+ NSA two hop rule= Everybody contacting Carter Page and everybody contacting somebody who contacted Carter Page can be under total surveillance by NSA which gives anything requested to FBI which LIED to FISA court repeatedly to get Carter Page and everyone near Trump under total surveillance).

Barack Obama was a BANANA REPUBLIC DICTATOR in his actions as president and Barr is a WEAKLING for not having the guts to arrest and prosecute Comey, Brennan, Sztrok, Clapper, Lisa Page, Bill Priestap, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton etc.

Hillary Clinton should be in PRISON and she would be in prison if all emails synced up to Wiener’s laptop would have been looked at because it is CLEAR there was massive corruption for example in the Uranium One case where Russia bought 20% of American Uranium for inflated price and then the sellers of Uranium One “donated” Clinton Foundation hundreds of millions.

Joe Biden/Hunter Biden corruption axis is as bad as Hillary/Clinton Foundation corruption axis.

A virtual debate means each candidate speaks for 2 mins or whatever at a time with no interruptions. That’s an uncomplementary set up for someone looking to showcase his own bullying personality, hoping it causes his opponent to fall apart. No surprise that Trump is only open to another chance to interrupt and yell over Biden. Even if he could muster a calm voice of reason (he can’t), that’s never been his path to popularity.

If you had actually watched the first debate you would have realized that BIDEN started the interruptions and interrupted Trump 3 times in one answer Trump was trying to give and Wallace did NOT intervene and instead started interrupting Trump so Trump started interrupting Biden to get his points across (he failed and should have let Biden ramble incoherently) so it ended with Trump doing about 50% of the interruptions (on Biden), Biden about 30% of the interruptions (on Trump) and Wallace about 20% of the interruptions (on Trump).

Trump seems to be doing one stupid thing a day. His core tolerates it, but the rest of the country is pushed more and more firmly into the Biden camp. Trump couldn’t have done a more thorough job of destroying the Republican Party if he had tried, though it isn’t just him; the Republican Party began the process of self-destruction many years ago. Once upon a time, the Republicans were a majority of voters, sometimes won Presidential elections by landslides, and controlled both houses of Congress. There is virtually no chance that they will control anything at the Federal level again for at least a dozen years.

What is a great way to dismantle a party?

  1. Demand that everyone have identical beliefs. Call everyone else names, like “RINO” or “liberal”, demand that they leave the party, and tell them to go vote for Democrats.
  2. Become the anti-Science party
  3. Become the economically illiterate party
  4. Cater to the rich, but expect your votes to come from the lower middle class
  5. Always divide, never unite (with each division, a few more people will be pushed out of the party)
  6. Tolerate bigots and hatred within the party
  7. Chase the elderly out of the party by promoting the spread of Covid

Back in the 80’s, the Republican Party was the “Big Tent Party”, and everyone was both wanted and welcome. The party conventions had some heated disagreements, but everyone was welcome. You had pro-life people and pro-choice people. You had Charter school people and NEA people. Today, I doubt they have much disagreement at their conventions, but I also expect they have a lot less people.

How long will it take for Republicans to reconsider their attitudes, and to win elections again? There is no chance that a single loss will do it, in my opinion. I think that after this, they will continue to focus on their core even more, and continue to do what they are doing.

“California is gonna have to ration water. You wanna know why? Because they send millions of gallons of water out to sea, out to the Pacific. Because they want to take care of certain little tiny fish, that aren’t doing very well without water.” — Trump

That is actually TRUE. California releases 200+ billion gallons of fresh water yearly out to sea to protect a fish species that does not survive if the water is too salty and some California environmentalists put that policy in place and it is still going on…

Why is it every time I look at the USA stories they are about looting, fire, killings and all want to have a fight. Is your country totally bonkers? Like most of my peers, I spent my life working to pay mortgages and raise my family, not chanting in the streets with my children on my shoulders, this is banana republic stuff. favourite saying? it aint my fault. Not just Trump but Graham too who refused to take a covid test. Not sure it was a mistake for Trump. The last debate clearly didn’t help him. He gets far more reach by doing 90 minutes of Tucker or Hannity or Bartiromo. Of course Biden doesn’t have to play defense when Trump does cable and Biden leads. At this point the Biden strategy is clearly not to make mistakes and protect the lead.

“In other news, Trump warns Iran not to “f*** around with us””

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cause I’ve never heard a Democrat use a swear word! Well, actually I have – towards fellow Americans. Trump used it against the largest state sponsor (and Obama and Biden’s good buddy) of terrorism. Oh, well…

Iran is indeed a contender for most contemptible regime on the planet. But this sounds like saber rattling, no? Trump is trying to appear more antiwar than his predecessors, while simultaneously acting open to any military escalation with China or Iran. … Contemporary politicians do this kind of throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks, so that myopic voters can see what they want to see.

That would seem the very definition of terrorism.

It’s not about profanity, it’s about needlessly antagonizing a country over and over for the benefit of the Israeli and Saudi lobby.

If you think the US benefits from this belligerent Iran stance, you’re nuts. Oh, and Iran is nowhere near the largest sponsor of terror, I’d put Saudi Arabia, Israel, Pakistan, the US, and probably more ahead of them.

Has 2020 been the least bit predictable?

Maybe that’s the reason Biden is debating in the first place. Up by double digits but still debating the underdog? Makes no sense.

Mish, remember when he skipped the debate in 2016 and went to his own rally? Watch Trafalgar polls, they predicted the upset last election. Still voting for Ron Paul. Off party voting accounted for 6.9% in the last presidential election.

Certainly looking that way right now. PredictIt has the EC at 335 to 203, and that’s more generous to Trump than the RCP no-tossup map.

Looking at the RCP toss-up states, (and assuming he holds TX), Trump needs to keep his slim leads in IA, OH, and GA, swing NC and FL his way, and somehow come up with another 22 EC votes from AZ, PA, WI, or MI.

Biden just needs to hold his leads in NV, MI, WI, and PA to win, not to mention any of the remaining toss-up states. Of these, PredictIt has his lowest odds at about 70% of winning WI or PA.

Looking like Trump desperately needs a “Comey miracle” in the next couple of weeks to pull this off. Realistically, unless something dramatic happens in the next couple of weeks, it looks like Biden will win with somewhere between 290 to 375 EC votes.

I voted for Ron Paul back in previous elections. I feel foolish for having done so. The libertardian viewpoint is completely ignorant and arrogant. The idea that free markets solve all is simple-minded and wrong. Why would you vote for a guy that just had a stroke on TV and isn’t even close to running?
