Conryn faces certain defeat today but steps up nasty attack ads anyway. 
Senator John Cornyn of Texas faces state Attorney General Ken Paxton in today’s GOP Senate runoff after neither candidate secured enough votes in the March primary to win the nomination. President Donald Trump endorsed Paxton last week. The winner will face Democratic state Rep. James Talarico in the November election.
The primary is today. Polymarket gives Paxton a 96 percent chance of winning.
Paxton is still running attack ads.

What’s Cornyn’s Strategy?
Trump demanded support for whoever he endorsed and said the other candidate would drop out.
Yet, Paxton is still fighting on, arguably wasting money in a futile battle.
What’s clear is Conryn does not care if he is hurting Paxton’s chances in the general election.
And why should he? Perhaps that is indeed his strategy.
That will be the accusation regardless. He will be accused of vindictive politics, when 100 percent of the vindictiveness was by Trump.
I have the seat as a tossup. Perhaps Paxton has a slight advantage. But Republicans are now going to have to spend huge, perhaps even record amounts of money to defend this seat.
Conryn would have won easily. And this is one of the reasons Senate Republicans are in open revolt.

Both Texas senators are vile creatures. That the warmongering pedophile wing fights over with the warmongering wing is just a fight for who gets the bigger bite off the pie. As there is a God in Heaven, Cornyn and Paxton will join McCain one day.
