Governor Newsom Issues Executive Order to Cut His Own Red Tape

No, this isn’t a Babylon Bee Headline. It’s from a Newsom post on X. Grok created the image.

New Executive Order

“NEW: Just issued an Executive Order that will allow victims of the SoCal fires to not get caught up in bureaucratic red tape and quickly rebuild their homes. We are also extending key price gouging protections to help make rebuilding more affordable.”

Nearly 4 million people viewed this Newsom Nonsense. How many caught the red tape irony, two of them actually?

The first is obvious: The state of California has numerous roadblocks and red tape on getting nearly anything done for environmental reasons. So Newsom has done nothing but pledge to cut his own red tape.

The second is that “price gouging protections” are guaranteed to cause delays because lumber and services are going to be in short supply.

So, as Newsome promises to cut some red tape (and we will see about that) he’s putting up other red tape in the form of “gouge protection”.

Expect more red tape to follow in the form of a price gouging swat team.

Protection of Illegal Alien Arsonists

Meanwhile, please note the Governor will spend $50 million to protect illegal immigrants from deportation.

California State Representative, @J_GallagherAD3, James Gallagher Posts on X

“At a time when California should be laser focused on responding to the devastating wildfires in LA, Democrat lawmakers’ priority is creating a $50 million slush fund to hire government lawyers for hypothetical fights against the federal government and to defend criminal illegal immigrants from being returned to their home countries. The disconnect between what Californians need and what Democrats are focused on is astounding.”

Please note some of those to be protected are arsonists.

Protecting Arsonists

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, @BillMelugin_ writes: “Per ICE sources, the man seen in a viral video being subdued by residents & arrested by police w/ a blowtorch near the #KennethFire in West Hills is an illegal alien from Mexico named Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva. He is in custody on a probation violation & has NOT been charged w/ arson. I’m told ICE will place a detainer request on him with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, but they do not expect it to be honored due to California’s Sanctuary State law. I’m told Sierra-Leyva will have a court appearance tomorrow. Again – he has not been charged w/ arson and is in custody only on a probation violation at the moment, as multiple agencies have been interviewing him.”

The man illegally crossed the border from Mexico, according to Fox. He was initially detained by residents after they saw him walking around their neighborhood with a blow torch. LAPD says they only charged the man with felony probation violation because they found “no probably cause of suspicion of arson.” “There was not enough probable cause to arrest this person on arson or suspicion of arson, and therefore, this person was arrested on a felony probation violation,” LAPD said.

Arson Attempt Video

The city and the state want to blame Climate Change instead of their own inept policies.

So this man will not be charged.

Let’s Discuss Governor Gavin Newsom’s Los Angeles Fire Fact Check

In case you missed it, please see Let’s Discuss Governor Gavin Newsom’s Los Angeles Fire Fact Check

Here’s a tidbit. Newsom brags (literally) about spending 3.8 billion on firefighting while spending $24 billion on homeless.

Now the state seeks $500 million to defend illegal immigrants, even arsonists and those on felony parole violations, from deportation.

If you live in California aren’t you proud of what Newsom has done for your state?

The dems are now upset about looting and theft but they were fine with it when they were looting and stealing from all the retail stores and bussinesses . Now we have the dems who voted for the leaders who allowed it against bussinesses upset that the same gangs are rumaging threw the fire rubble looking for treasure that may have survived the fire . Some are talking about the law breakers need to be shot on sight .
These people have no shame and are the definition of hypocrites . Of course they want the regulations and permitting and red tape eliminated as they try to rebuild but had no problems with it when it added thousands of dollars to the cost of evryday people that struggle to make ends meet . Many bussinesses and retail had to close because they were being victims of the Dem policy .

Newsome is on an image public relations emergency now. He does tik tok videos discussing plans and also was limping some fancy fire chopper that was employed for fires. I suspect Jerry Brown actually ordered those. Newsome is basically a common fence lizard. Sits and does nothing, then acts with great speed when he has to. Then sits and eats bugs

“Real-estate investor Robert Rivani spent close to three years renovating an oceanfront mansion on Malibu’s star-studded Carbon Beach. Including the price of the original home, the project cost close to $27 million. He had been planning to list it for $40 million this spring. Last week, Rivani watched as the California wildfires tore the five-bedroom home apart, reducing it to rubble. ‘It’s catastrophic,’ he said. ‘How do you sum up losing over $20 million in 24 hours to any human being?’ Rivani said his insurance falls under the state’s already-stretched Fair Plan, which provides only up to $3 million in coverage for residential properties, so, even if it pays out, he says he will be out more than $20 million. No other insurer would cover the property for its full replacement value, he said.”

You’d think that he could have invested a small extra amount for a fire-retardant foam system like this…

https://www.frontlinewildfire.com/protect-home-with-roof-wildfire-sprinkler-system/

I saw a video years ago of a one inch thick foam which you could manually spray over your home as a fire approached – it provided excellent protection for hours afterward – can’t find the product now…. Firefighters were also using it – they’d coat all houses in a street and then move on to the next street. In one fire event, all houses were saved except one which had an open garage door….

And I hope that all those houses & businesses built right to the oceans edge are not allowed to be rebuilt again. Doing so would be an ecological and environmental catastrophe.

There were multiple fires. Some of which were obvious arson. The coverup will be if the arsonists were homeless or illegals, they will cover it up because of politics. This is likely already occurring. The man caught with the blowtorch for instance.

“The widespread devastation of the recent fires — including in parts of the city at lower risk of wildfires — illustrates how building structures in high-fire-risk zones can have downstream effects in other areas. …. These were the kinds of developments targeted by Stern’s bill. After the legislation was introduced, disclosures show, the real estate lobby descended on it: A litany of developers and real estate groups lobbied to kill the bill.”

Kind of curious Newsome and dems went all in on Climate change.
Have claimed drought was inevitable for years.
Whether or not Drought was caused by climate change, Drought happened.

If a person is at top of command and had reason to believe drought was certain, then got said Drought, why would that person in command not prepare for consequences of that Drought to communities afflicted?

You say this is greedy developers and real estate people at fault.
Pretty Big disconnect from what actually happened.

To borrow from Biff Tannen, “The corporations OWN the government!!!!”

BOTH the major parties are fully beholden to big business. They are conveniently labeled “Left” and “Right” so the masses can keep fighting among themselves instead of dealing with the actual source of the scourge.

The donor-CRAT Party has not done even one thing on the economic policy front that can honestly be called leftist over the last 50+ years.

It is not a matter of either-or. Greedy developers built these houses. Lack of firefighting facilities was the aggravating factor. It is a one-two punch.

All of California has a big wildfire risk, that goes with the Mediterranean climate … 6 consecutive months without rain each year. So it matters a lot less where you build, and a lot more how you mitigate the fuel buildup and other upwind fire risks wherever you build.

There’s enough blame for all.

Well, 6 YEARS ago, this report identified high fire risk areas in California, and also warned development in the state’s high-risk wildfire zones was magnifying wildfires and putting more people in their path.

https://www.gov.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/Wildfires-and-Climate-Change-California%E2%80%99s-Energy-Future.pdf

That is EXACTLY what has happened since then, and this time as well.

“The fire spread outward from the Palisades Highlands neighborhood, one of the Palisades’ more recent developments, which borders undeveloped state park land, into lower-risk areas.”

So, it does matter a lot where you build.

It will be amusing to watch what governmental response this particular disaster gets in contrast with other disasters. Pacific Palisades ain’t exactly on the wrong side of the tracks. The bulk of local, state, and federal taxes are paid by people such as live there. They’ll do more than clutch their pearls if they get an undesirable response from their governments.

Situation is a bit like illegal immigrants in Martha’s Vineyard.

The amusing Government response will be:
1. We are doing all that we can, and will continue to do so.
2. We understand your problems and are addressing them.
3. We know you have heard things, but they are not true.
4. We know you have seen things, but that wasn’t what it was.
5. We will never let this happen again.
6. We don’t have enough resources from the Feds.
7. We can’t get around the rules in place to help you.
8. We put everything we had as always to help, but fell short.
9. We blame the Republicans as you should too.
10. We see this as a reason to elect more Democrats to get around this sort of stuff. We have roadblocks we can’t get around without more Democrats in “Power & Control”

Top 10?

Don’t forget climate change…

“The Associated Press published an article titled “Climate Change Contributed to a Week of Wild Weather That Upended Life in the US,” which was heavily ratioed on X for blaming the Palisades Fire solely on “climate change.”

The journalist behind the article, Melina Walling, who uses the pronouns “she/her,” failed to mention arson reports and the alarming mismanagement of city fire resources by radical far-left Democrats in power, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Gov. Gavin Newsom.

“Climate change laid the groundwork for California’s megafires,” Walling wrote. Walling’s selective reporting, aimed at drumming up climate anxieties among the public to further the left’s climate change agenda, is extraordinarily misleading.”

Neal

Can ICE turn up at the courthouse tomorrow and detain the arsonist?
If California won’t lay arson charges can the Federal Government lay charges if any federal lands were impacted?
I seem to recall that there was a case many years ago where a killing took place in a state without the death penalty but because it was done on federal lands the perp was tried federally and executed. Considering that the death toll is likely to include deaths from fires that at some point crossed federal land can Trump arrange that those peeps are tried and executed?
Could Trump sign an EO making all those illegally in the country subject to federal law for any felonies they commit? Biden commuted 37 death penalties in his final month and Trump in his final month in his first term had 3 federal executions. Putting scores of illegal gang bangers on federal death row will send a message to illegals about Trumps resolve and Newsoms weakness come the 2028 election.

They conducted a raid in CA a few days back! 7 days and counting…

A surprising immigration raid in Kern County foreshadows what awaits farmworkers and businesses

by Sergio Olmos

January 10, 2025

“If this is the new normal, this is absolute economic devastation,” says one local economist.

The Border Patrol conducted unannounced raids throughout Bakersfield on Tuesday, descending on businesses where day laborers and field workers gather. Agents in unmarked SUVs rounded up people in vans outside a Home Depot and gas station that serves a breakfast popular with field workers.

This appears to be the first large-scale Border Patrol raid in California since the election of Donald Trump, coming just a day after Congress certified the election on January 6, in the final days of Joe Biden’s presidency. The panic and confusion, for both immigrants and local businesses that rely on their labor, foreshadow what awaits communities across California if Trump follows through on his promise to conduct mass deportations.

Well, since the advent of farming, we’ve been bred to expect, if not want, a king/emperor/chief/big-man. Notice how little kids love being princes and princesses.

Given the popularity of “slavery” for thousands of years, one might argue that many, if not most of us, are bred to be slaves, keeping in mind that the word, “slave”, covers a lot of ground.
