“It’s Only Temporary and Won’t Require US Boots in Gaza”

Biden will announce tonight in his State of the Union the next phase of US involvement in the Mideast. The US will build a temporary ship docking pier in Gaza that will not require boots on the ground.

US to Build an Offshore Pier in Gaza

The Wall Street Journal notes Biden Seeks to Boost Emergency Aid to Gaza With Offshore Pier

President Biden is set to announce in his State of the Union speech Thursday that the U.S. military will install a temporary pier off the Gaza coast for cargo ships to unload food, water and other emergency supplies, boosting the direct American role in addressing the strip’s humanitarian crisis.

Biden directed the military to carry out the emergency project, aiming to ease food shortages and lack of shelter and medical services for Gaza’s 2.2 million residents, according to U.S. officials who briefed reporters ahead of Biden’s speech Thursday evening.

Once the pier is in place, aid shipments enabled by the U.S. and a coalition of partners and allies will flow to Gaza, initially from Cyprus, according to U.S. officials who briefed reporters ahead of Biden’s speech Thursday evening.

The forces that will be required to complete this mission are either already in the region or will begin to move there soon, they said. The mission, which is expected to last only temporarily, won’t require U.S. boots on the ground in Gaza, officials said.

“It certainly will be complex to work out, but I think the more avenues we have to get assistance in the more we will be able to reliably move it around within Gaza as well,” a U.S. official said.

Six Key Questions and Answers

Q: Has anyone defined temporary?
A: No

Q: Has anyone stated the costs?
A: No

Q: Does the US have an endgame?
A: No

Q: Is the US ignoring new illegal Israeli settlements on the West Bank?
A: Yes

Q: Is the Biden administration concealing weapons shipments to Israel despite huge differences with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israel’s policy in Gaza and the west bank?
A: Yes

Q: Is Biden pressuring Congress for more “no strings attached” money for Israel despite huge differences with Netanyahu?
A: Yes

Biden is Hiding Weapons Shipments to Israel

Please note Biden is Hiding Weapons Shipments to Israel and Ignores Illegal West Bank Settlements

Weapons shipments that exceed a certain amount require notices to Congress. Biden’s solution is to make the shipments smaller and send hundreds more of them.

Please recall the “temporary” nature of US involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria.

Bonus Questions

Perhaps this seems different given that it’s humanitarian.

But is there any reason to believe or trust anything that we are doing or saying about costs, the temporary nature, and no boots on the ground?

How temporary is temporary?

I strongly suspect that there are already some kind of American boots on the ground already. Unless our government is truthful and trustworthy.

The easiest way to allow aid in is to stop these clandestine weapon shipments to Israel, and to stop vetoing UN ceasefire resolutions. What Biden is doing is just smokes and mirrors to stop bleeding votes in Michigan and Minnesota.

Just wait until Biden admin ses up an asylum desk on the beach. After the aid is delivered to the Palestinian beggars, they will be given paperwork allowing them to apply for asylum in the USA. Those approved will get on the landing craft where they will get a free boat ride to Michigan.

Maybe cheaper to pay Egypt to accept refugees.

The conflict is only messy because Hamas and the rest of the Muslim world keep civilians trapped there as human shields.

Evacuate innocents to a safe distance and there would be fewer causalities.

As Egypt Implements Massive Devaluation Of Currency, Sending Pound Tumbling, Unrest & Instability On Horizon

Wednesday, Mar 06, 2024 – 05:45 PM

The Egyptian pound crashed Wednesday as the government initiated a devaluation of more than 38%, while also hiking interest rates, in order to attract billions more in loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Already with one of the world’s highest levels of foreign debt, Egypt is trying to avoid potential default in the coming years, and has been propped up by loans and central bank deposits from Persian Gulf states and the IMF. Like other governments in the region, particularly Lebanon, Egypt has long had a severe shortage of foreign-currency reserves, resulting in the Central Bank of Egypt artificially propping up the pound’s value, leading to a robust black market exchange.

The central bank announced Wednesday, “The unification of the exchange rate is crucial, as it facilitates the elimination of foreign-exchange backlogs following the closure of the spread between the official and the parallel exchange-rate markets.” It will allow “the exchange rate to be determined by market forces.”

The statement said it further raised the overnight lending rate to 28.25% and its overnight deposit rate to 27.25%, and crucially that it would let the Egyptian pound trade freely on international markets, in a bid toward quashing inflation.

– Biden will announce tonight the next phase of US involvement in the Mideast.
> I wasn’t aware that The U.S. had Phases of Involvement going on in the Mideast. So purely out of curiosity, just how many Phases has the U.S. actually participated in to date. Oh, and what exactly is the purpose of this Involvement again? I must of missed this Presidential Act when it occurred.

– The US will build a temporary ship docking pier in Gaza that will not require boots on the ground.
> Who exactly, invited the U.S. to get involved, with the Attack on Israel by Hamas from Gaza? Did Israel ask us to build this? Maybe Hamas? You know the two parties involved in the conflict. Hmm.. sounds a little like when Ukraine and Russia got in a land dispute of sorts. Next thing you know, The U.S. has boots on the ground around the Region, The U.S. is supplying air, well and then weapons, but I digress… Who again invited The U.S. to get involved in this 2 Country dispute, and Why exactly is The U.S. getting involved?

Hey, before I forget to ask the most important question: Are U.S. Taxpayers Paying For This, and are they aware of this?

I cracked up seeing this:”The mission, which is expected to last only temporarily, won’t require U.S. boots on the ground in Gaza, officials said.”

I remember hearing something like this in the past: ”The mission, which is expected to last only temporarily, won’t require U.S. boots on the ground in (Place Countries Name Here), officials said.”

– Six Key Questions and Answers > All Excellent, but don’t expect any actual answers

– Weapons shipments that exceed a certain amount require notices to Congress. Biden’s solution > (Workaround) is to make the shipments smaller and send hundreds more of them.
Bonus Questions

– Perhaps this seems different given that it’s humanitarian. > Um, No! It’s called an excuse.

– But is there any reason to believe or trust anything that we are doing or saying about costs, the temporary nature, and no boots on the ground? > Like Cost in Ukraine? Um, No!

– How temporary is temporary? > As permanent as temporary can get, which isn’t very temporary.

There is a much simpler and easier solution and it might even save Israel from itself. All Biden needs to say to Netanyahu, “no food and water to Gaza, no US foreign aid to Israel.” No more bombing and destruction of Gaza or we cut off all aid and all tax deductible contributions to Israel. And by the way, the money to rebuild Gaza is coming out of thd US aid to Israel.

What about the rockets Hamas fires into Israel each and every day since 10/7 – over 14,000 rockets to date. Israel just has to accept this indiscriminate bombing of its civilian population?

Israel is a petri dish testing new missiles AI and a new urban war. AI can be applied in multiple areas and hives. Foreign countries that condemned Israel are waiting in line for Israeli “goods”. The Israeli defense industry replenishes Israel’s own inventory first. The IDF needs at least 7,000 more soldiers to prevent a regional war. Iran has no nuclear bombs that could be smuggle to Sinwar.
Bibi wants yeshiva students to serve. The upper Galilee Arabs recruitment isn’t far ahead. Within a decade or two the west bank Gurka might join the United Holy Land army. Sinwar will flip in his grave.

The US policy never has an endgame. The policy is line the pockets of them and their friends causing mass chaos, destruction, confusion and waste. Once the public has had enough close up shop for a minute and repeat.

Look at this situation. Supply arms, technical support for the killing machines but also, supply a new port and aid to the people being bombed and killed by our own bombs! Can’t blame them either. Who is going to stop it? They certainly don’t fear Americans with elections that can’t be audited.

Only thing they seem to fear is Russia one day forming an alliance with Germany. That scenario scares the s*** out of them hence blowing up the pipeline and shoving Ukraine into a fight they can’t win.

Immediately halting aid to Israel and placing sanctions on them would halt them in their tracks. Israel has run trade deficits since the late 1960s. Without cash inflows from overseas, they would quickly be in deep pain.

We shouldn’t be providing any aid to Israel as they are a nuclear state and have not signed the non-proliferation treaty.

Mr. Olson, You seem to lack a historical perspective. There are reasons why Hamas attacked. You need to read beyond the MSM headlines which paint a very distorted picture. Try Alison Weir’s book “Against Our Better Judgment”. All this was predictictsd back in the 1940s by then Secretary of State. George C. Marshall.

The South is VERY philosemitic. There was some antisemitism during the so-called civil rights era. That has been largely erased by the christian right/evangelical movement that started in the 1970s.

I lived in South Carolina for several years. Even in private conversation you will not hear a bad word about blacks or jews. I joke that you have a choice of 5 religions (Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, University of South Carolina and Clemson). You can pick any two and one of them MUST be a football team.

Sinwar State of the Union, Jan 8 2023, a week after Bibi gov was sworn in : minister Ben-Gvir is a good thing. He might burst into Al Aqsa (he did). Iran promised us that the Shia Axis will join us. After the privileged elite protest against Bibi and the attempt to rectify the supreme court Sinwar option looked good. He start the Palestinian “Independence War” on Oct 7. He was fully committed to becoming a hero. Surrounded by hostages he hopes that during the Ramadan his bet will materialize. He is already a hero after humiliating Israel. Shahid is better than escaping to Egypt.

Maybe Biden is a lost cause and it’s figured that we might as well bring Gaza refugee ps in under Biden.

At this point in his 4th year, Carter’s approval ratings were in free fall after a spike during the Iran hostage crisis to settle at the high 30s. Just where Biden’s are now.

The Mariel boat lift from Cuba started in April 1980.

History may not repeat but it sure rhymes.

On the face of it, it seems sensible. Easily defended, a boon to the refugees and general reconstruction. Israel can receive ammo at her other ports anyway. hamas will be extincted soon in Rafah. The refugees should be able to start back north in relative safety. It could be a generation until they gain autonomy depending largely on themselves.

Kevin
Kevin

This is the first step in a boat lift of thousands, perhaps many more, of Palestinian refugees to be resettled in the US. Like Cuba in 1980 or Vietnam after 1975.

They will be embittered toward us because they see us as sponsoring Israel which made them refugees. Even if the parents are “vetted”, experience in the US and Europe show it is the children that get radicalized and become terrorists. We will need to bring back the Patriot Act on steroids.

If we do resettle Gaza refugees here, make jewish synagogues responsible for them. Perhaps the Gaza refugees will get over their “irrational” hatred of jews and be peacefully repatriated to Gaza, assuming Israel has not completely annexed and settled it.
