Kuwait said it shot down the Iranian volley, but the renewed fire added more tension to a region bracing for more conflict. Trump ordered the military to launch a fresh attack on Iran to bring Tehran to the negotiating table, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
Iran kept the Strait of Hormuz—once the passageway for 20% of the world’s crude oil—effectively closed. Iranian diplomats have expressed exhaustion over the repeated breakdowns in negotiations with the U.S. From their perspective, officials say, there is a lack of trust between the two countries and the prospects for diplomacy deteriorate every time Trump threatens military force.

No it isn’t. The US is almost out of cruise missiles and other stand off precision guided attack munitions. That has been widely reported and stockpiles are not expected to be fully replenished until 2031.
What the US has lots of is bombs, the laser and GPS guided types. But those need to be dropped by planes like the B-1, B-2, B-52s, F-15, F-16 and F-35. The B-52s are from the late 1950s. The B-1 are from the Jimmy Carter era and the B-2s are from the early 1990s. The newest F-15E in the USAF arsenal was delivered in 2001. The newest F-16s in the USAF inventory are from 1994. Those are old planes, that were expensively used in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are expensive to keep flying and require lots of time in maintenance. The F-35s are much newer, the last one being delivered in 2016, but they are known as “hangar queens”, meaning that for every hour flown they require several hours for maintenance. Lastly, the refueling planes used by the USAF are all from the late 1950s. So maintain sustained long term large scale air campaign against Iran using manned planes is just not viable. The fact that Iran was able devastate the US bases in the region with its missile attacks make the logistics of the whole thing even more complicated. Yes, the us can conduct extensive highly targeted attacks, but a sustained, WW2 level broad campaign is out of the question.

Difficult, perhaps impossible. There are too many background forces involved to keep the US war machine going. People are clearly not organized enough to resist effectively. But hoping for divine intervention is not good enough.

There is no stopping wars as long as there is money to be made. This is why our investments should be consciously considered with profits being secondary.
There isn’t anyone on this site that can do anything about wars. It’s a crock to think that we can make any difference by NOT owning shares of companies with military business. Even if you sell those stocks, someone is on the other side buying them.
Most of my investments are in Canadian oil stocks.
