The Implosion of Maga from the Core Is a Sight to Behold

MAGA splinters big time over the war. Trump’s reaction makes things worse.

Truth Social Blast

Truth Social: I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs. They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too! Look at their past, look at their record. They don’t have what it takes, and they never did! They’ve all been thrown off Television, lost their Shows, and aren’t even invited on TV because nobody cares about them, they’re NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS, and will say anything necessary for some “free” and cheap publicity. Now they think they get some “clicks” because they have Third Rate Podcasts, but nobody’s talking about them, and their views are the opposite of MAGA — Or I wouldn’t have won the Presidential Election in a LANDSLIDE. MAGA agrees with me, and just gave CNN a 100% Approval Rating of “TRUMP,” not Hand Flailing Fools like Tucker Carlson, who couldn’t even finish College, he was a broken man when he got fired from Fox, and he’s never been the same — Perhaps he should see a good psychiatrist! Or Megyn Kelly, who nastily asked me the now famous, “Only Rosie O’Donnell,” question, or “Crazy” Candace Owens, who accuses the Highly Respected First Lady of France of being a man, when she is not, and will hopefully win lots of money in the ongoing lawsuit. Actually, to me, the First Lady of France is a far more beautiful woman than Candace, in fact, it’s not even close! Or Bankrupt Alex Jones, who says some of the dumbest things, and lost his entire fortune, as he should have, for his horrendous attack on the families of the Sandy Hook shooting victims, ridiculously claiming it was a hoax. These so-called “pundits” are LOSERS, and they always will be! Now Fake News CNN, The Failing New York Times, and all of the other Radical Left “News” Organizations, are “hailing” them, and giving them “positive” press for the first time in their lives. They’re not “MAGA,” they’re losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA. As President, I could get them on my side anytime I want to, but when they call, I don’t return their calls because I’m too busy on World and Country Affairs and, after a few times, they go “nasty,” just like Marjorie “Traitor” Brown, but I no longer care about that stuff, I only care about doing right for our Country. MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH in not allowing Iran to have Nuclear Weapons. MAGA is about MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and these people have no idea how to do that, BUT I DO, because THE UNITED STATES IS NOW THE “HOTTEST” COUNTRY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Apr 09, 2026, 2:28 PM

Let’s Unravel the Lies

  • Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have not been fighting Trump for years. Up until recently they have backed nearly everything Trump does.
  • Not one of them thinks Iran should have a nuclear weapon.
  • None of them are “Low IQ” although one might claim they were stupid to support Trump as much as they did in the past.
  • Trump says, “As President, I could get them on my side anytime I want to. ” Really? How?

Trump is the one who is stupid and acting childish.

Attacking Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones can only do one thing. And that’s lose votes.

Tucker on Trump

This One is Funny

Tucker Mocks Trump

Candice Owens

“You belong to the Epstein class. That is your legacy now.”

MAGA followers of the above are not likely to rush to the other side and become Democrats. But independent followers of the above may indeed switch votes.

Many former cultists have finally had enough. I see it nearly every day on X.

Full Collapse

Megan Kelly

Megyn Kelly on the Situation Room

Alex Jones to Trump

“Do one more thing — you should be kissing my ass. But instead you shit all over me and rub it in. I’m not looking for a fight, but if you want one you came to the right place.”

A Word With Trump

Click “show more” above for a big rant from a now clearly ex-MAGA.

MAGA Is Cringe

Reflections on the Pope

There are 1.4 billion Catholics around the world, and about 72 million in the US alone. Starting beef with them and Pope Leo XIV who happens to be American is not a wise choice.

CNN plays a montage of Trump praising Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones

Last One Off the Titanic

Tucker Tries to Explain Trump

Trump made the GOP a cult. This was easily visible for years. Even some of his most ardent supporters finally see it now.

The midterms will be a blowout.

I have said this before but it’s worth repeating. Trump values loyalty much more than he wants to win any election.

It’s the war, Epstein, spending, and a bunch of other betrayals. Young people also expected him to do something about the outrageous cost of housing, but nothing on that end either (actually it’s the opposite of helping, he’s propping UP the housing market).

Really, what lens are you looking through? You see the Democratic hopefuls as sorry-looking compared to what? Compared to an eighty-year-old spray tan, bleach-blond, comb-over grifter, or a one-time hillbilly, never trumper, soldier (sorry, warfighter), tech bro, who has changed his name three or more times?

Cockroaches, again?
Several comments have greater than 15 thumbs up or 15 thumbs down. Most of the MAGA pundit ‘turncoats’ could reasonably be perceived as pro-Russian assets, promoting isolationism, anti NATO, and anti-Ukraine glop. Our Russian bot friends thru their exuberant voting may be telling us that the Kremlin’s position – like the disenchanted MAGA pundits – on its very useful idiot, has gone negative with the more preferential goal to maintain international chaos; commit, engage, and expend US war assets; and maintain high oil prices.

Vance appears to the perfect Islamabad slimy fall-guy to take the blame and be thrown under the wheels of the big presidential ‘Limited’ Express Train for his upcoming inability and ineptitude to ‘make-the-deal’ and bridge the ten million mile gap between Iranian demands and any semblance of a US positional win. Will Trump Media DJT be less than 6 by the end of May? Will presidential approval be less than 33% by the same date? “Omaha” …

Trump can be a disaster and this can also be true, at the same time.
The problem I have with your theory, is that right now, Trump seems to be doing a great job to Make Russia Great Again- blowing all our weaponry in the Middle East- letting embargoed Russian oil back on the market because we broke the market so badly- and thoroughly trashing any geopolitical pull we had by proving our morals to be skin deep and our military power to be obsolete.

We showed up with $1 million-a-pop guided missiles and got shut down by a country with $20k drones. How incredibly stupid that our military was not ready for this! They have had YEARS to see this coming. How was the example of Ukraine not BLINDINGLY obvious to these “professionals?” It’s just unbelievable how badly our leadership has let us down, across the board. Military, political, financial, and business, all run by morons. The brain rot and corruption in American leadership is intense and pervasive.

Hmm think about this. Suppose you are a manufacturer of very expensive missiles selling well to the US Military. Why would you change to a lower profit higher production cost of making thousands of drones?
Solution simply continue to bribe high ranking military officers, congress and the executive regime to buy your tired and true multi million dollar missiles and forget about those drones used by third world armies.

The pathetic closed, criminal small-ball loop of this admin is revealed by the US negotiators in Islamabad

Vance, Witkoff, Kushner–venture capitalist, 2 Zionist real estate speculators

How would they even begin to negotiate nuclear deals, address laws of the sea, the stepping down of hostilities, reparations, Israel’s positions

They have no competence in governing the US, let alone settling international wars

I wouldn’t trust any of the effn US negotiators in a simple transaction like buying a car (not just out to screw you but also unable to figure out how to get you the license plates and title)

The talks are pure nonsense

The Trump “negotiators” don’t really need negotiating skills because Trump never seeks a win/win outcome that most normal negotiations aim for. Trump will always have his people come to the negotiating table with threats, discussions of “cards,” or as hostage takers.

I think to call Tucker Carlson “low IQ” is silly. I would have to agree with Trump about some of the others.

The fact is that, although Trump may not be a very likeable man, he gets things done. As I recall it, the entire West was sucking up to China until Trump stopped it. Trump denounced Obama’s fake agreement with Persia when nobody else did. Those two items make Trump look a lot like Churchill to me.

Not all of Trump’s supporters are clever people, and it is entirely possible, from my point of view, that he will lose the midterm elections. If he does, we are back to the old regime of not only corruption but also stupidity.

This episode may turn out to be one of those glimmers of recovery in a collapsing empire, just before the end. I suppose the next empire will be a Chinese one. A slave race is more suited to urban life than a race of free men.

Trump got nothing done except transfer wealth from the 90% to the billionaires. And, interestingly, a quick development of COVID vaccines. Securing the border, even though it was quite easy to do better there. But China is laughing all the way to the bank with trump as president.

And Obama’s Iran deal was a good one, as evidences quite convincingly by Mish on multiple occasions.

Finally, the idea that Americans somehow are the most free is laughable. I guess you havent travelled much, or worked in an international environment

yes it is all about the billionaire epstein class taking from the working class. maybe we should try to elect progressives. If you have lived almost anywhere else you will see that America is not all that. Most countries have safety nets like free or cheap healthcare. A minimum wage that is reasonable, education for all that is at least science based. America is in trouble and has been for awhile. The big beautiful bill should have raised taxes to pay down the debt not given tax breaks to billionaires.

I’m a geezer Canadian political junkie with no skin in the game. I predicted Trump would win in 2016 and people thought I was nuts. I probably am, but for different reasons. My criticism of Trump has not changed. I see him as identifying issues affecting the US correctly, but having the entirely wrong solutions for them. A large part of the problem is his vanity. The Zionists know how to stroke egos. Unfortunately, a large number of them are in the the world of finance as well. Free trade does not equal fair trade. It’s been known since the “Asian Tiger” days 35+ years ago, that low wage countries will always drain industry from high wage countries. We can’t compete without tariffs. It’s been that way for centuries. The US funded itself on tariffs prior to the Federal Reserve. The banking cartel needs wars to thrive. Trump is too close to the banking cartel via property development to understand that, possibly because they stroke his ego so well.

I am a huge admirer of Churchill and have read his autobiographies. The only similarities between Churchill and Trump are their personal vices. But the differences are stark. Churchill respected institutions; Trump views institutions with contempt. Churchill was guided by longstanding principles that allowed him to easily identify good vs. evil, whereas Trump is transactional and will hesitate to make a deal with the devil. There is little doubt in my mind that had Trump been President in 1938-40, he would have made Charles Lindberg Secretary of State, the most high-profile member of the America First movement, and Trump would have made a deal with Hitler, just like Stalin did. Churchill said, you cannot trust any deal with Hitler and we will fight to the death before ever bending a knee to evil.

I’m not seeing the MAGA rank and file supporters abandon Trump one iota.

If Trump does something they don’t like, they resort to whatever defense they can to prevent their minds from exploding.

For example, if Trump does something bad, Trump is actually doing it to achieve the opposite of what he appears to be doing (sort of like reverse psychology).

For example, Trump started the Iran war to “bring oil prices down”. Sure they’re high now, but “soon” oil prices will be at record lows due to Trump’s 5D chess moves.

MAGA minds twist themselves into pretzels to defend whatever Trump does.

The mark of intelligence is always attempting to prove yourself wrong. To quickly jettison ideas that aren’t true and get closer to ideas that are true. MAGA loyalists are the opposite. They only accept information that confirms their previously held beliefs, true or false. And they would feel humiliated to have to discard a previously held belief. That’s why Trump is so popular with evangelicals. Truth and falsity have no place in a world where faith is the basis of understanding. Trump can manipulate the faith and they are forced to tag along. Note that the decline of America began in the late ’70’s to early ’80’s. The same time when Moral Majority and similar groups began the revival of American Christianity.

Here ya go…

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/cognitive-dissonance-helps-explain-why-trump-supporters-remain-loyal-new-research-suggests/ar-AA20EjUV

The theory of cognitive dissonance proposes that when people hold beliefs that are in conflict, meaning that both ideas cannot be true at once, they feel uncomfortable. This discomfort motivates them to do cognitive work to bring their beliefs closer in alignment. I was interested in how people justify their support for Trump when reminded of the accusations against him.”

In other words, believing that a leader is good while also hearing that the leader did something bad creates mental friction. To get rid of this discomfort, people tend to change their thinking to make the two conflicting ideas fit together.

Almost a third of the respondents explained that they cared about his political policies rather than his personal life. Another third justified their stance by claiming that other politicians and wealthy individuals commit similar misdeeds. (What about Biden anyone?) Some participants provided more than one of these justifications.

In a nutshell, MAGA = deeply mentally ill.

Secondly, all of these things you attribute to “the left” simply aren’t true. Certainly, for each of the items you listed, you will find a small group of people who believe an item or two(small relative to the voting population). Where you are making a horrific mistake is believing just about everyone “on the left” believe all these things. The vast majority do not. But the power of right-wing media is to show some nutcase doing or saying something dumb, and then attributing that idea to everyone on the other tribe. It is a lie, but not one that you have any ability to confirm. But you have fallen for it hook, line and sinker. Most people find some policy positions of trad Republicans to be wise and thoughtful, while simultaneously thinking some of the Democrats positions to be wise and thoughtful. I am an anti-Trump RINO (to you) Republican. My wife is a Democrat. She doesn’t believe in a single thing you mentioned. And she and I can have a nuanced debate over health-care policy and agree to disagree on some ideas.

You are arguing with a straw man of your own construction. I don’t consume media and certainly not Faux news. The moderate Democrats still vote tribally with the far left on all things related to open borders, immigration, DEI, transgender nonsense so even if they don’t all believe the impact and effect on us younger Gen X and Millenial and Gen Z white people are the same. As for healthcare, it is a disaster for sure and we need a change to our system. In Taiwan, one can get a family of 4 covered for <$200 a month and these are top notch doctors. There are many other examples. I for one am in favor of massive changes to our fully privatized healthcare system but Obamacare was certainly not the answer. I would prefer inferior, less cutting edge healthcare with broader coverage to LEGAL citizens only, premiums based not purely on income but on how well people maintain their weight and health to incentivize lower maintenance costs of individual health, elimination of provisioning of procedures past a certain age to address the 80% of healthcare costs come in the last 5 years of life issue, capped salaries for medical professionals, greater use of telemedicine and AI and loosening of regulations to assist qualified nurses and other practitioners to broaden the effective supply of medical providers, elimination of event-based fees to avoid the perverse incentives there, the elimination of ability of pharmaceutical companies to conduct direct to consumer advertising like every other country, and dramatic reduction of legal bills via tort reform and fee capping by type, etc…

Since you’re a bonafide racist, no answer will appease you in any way shape or form but let’s do the math.

https://www.census.gov/quickfacts/fact/table/US/PST045224

Blacks are 13.7% of the population. Hispanics 20%.

As of the 119th Congress, 14% of House members are Black, matching the U.S. population share, and 11% of Congress is Hispanic, though Hispanics make up 20% of the U.S. population.

I know math is very hard for racists and bigots but there it is…

The lack of support for attacking Iran is a build-up a growing splinter of MAGA from Trump. When Trump entered Office in 2025, there was a general agreement with WHAT needed to be done, but the cracks started with HOW Trump was getting things done. And suddenly Trump is no longer agreeing to the WHAT. The general issues / directions are good:
1.) Deport Illegal aliens.
2.) Fight DEI and cultural wars in court on the basis they are fundamentally discriminatory and infringe on individual rights such as Title IX, parenting and speech.
3.) Prosecute fraud.
4.) Disengage from Chinese manufacturing and political infiltration.
5.) Reduce government waste.

Unfortunately, none of those things are actually a big deal in the real world. Fox News just knows that they sound appealing to a lot of low information voters. The things that are important: increasing US global competitiveness, increasing internal competition to reduce costs, increasing income for the middle-class and reducing the budget deficit are completely disregarded by the Republican Party. But people vote for them anyway. And every one of Trump’s actions are 100% oppose these goals and now MAGA wonders why their standard of living is declining.

Well open borders and allowing millions of unvetted, unskilled and uneducated peasants drive down wages and drive up crime and rents, all while being given preferential treatment in university admissions and government and commercial set asides, is hardly good for the middle class or global competitiveness. We should be moving to skill and job shortage immigration only and the country, not the entire world, should decide who moves here. And Americans should not be forced to learn new languages to get a job in their own country which happens in many parts of California and the southwest. And before you say I am a low information voter, I speak fluent German and conversational Spanish and Chinese with advanced degrees and a net worth exceeding $10MM. I am just not elitist enough to realize that many people do not have the time or brains to learn new languages.

Alex Jones is particularly hard-hit by this. That guy got broken just because of Trump. Nobody cared a wit about his Sandy Hook hoax bluster — until Trump won 2016 and Jones declared he was setting up a Washington bureau and getting a White House press pass. The biggest, loudest megaphone for Trump was on the rise. Suddenly, MSM miraculously discovered 4 year old Sandy Hook hoax material that’d always been out there for the taking and voila! Lawsuits and bankruptcy.

And this is the reward for a decade of unwavering loyalty. Sheesh!

Wow! Megan Kelly exposes Fox News. That took a lot guts to say after she benefitted from it and stating the obvious 30 years after Murdoch created it. How did the cow eat the cabbage? That was a new one on me. I had to look that one up. Just in case anyone believes no one was on the ball, Michael Moore and Bill Maher had Trump pegged 10 years ago.

Two things. 1. What are all these grifters going to do now? and 2. Don’t underestimate the Democrats ability to somehow f this up!

These people like Tucker and Megan Kelly now saying that Fox is a blind supporter of Trump is a joke. They were there when Fox was a blind supporter of Trump the first time, and they were there when Fox was a blind supporter of Bush (who they have now thrown under the bus.) How long until they throw Trump under the bus? It will probably be a couple of years after he is out of office, but, it is inevitable. Then Fox will find new people to promote their “new” Republican, no doubt.

And, as far as D’s go, they have always shown an ability to F things up. What they should do now is simply take over Trumps grift and run on “making America great again”, but, actually do it this time instead of paying off donors and grifting off of it. The people (from MAGA to D’s to R’s to Independents) are longing for a change in this country and in the world.

We need candidates that sincerely promote world peace and cooperation, that don’t convince us that “those” other human beings are our enemy, that are willing to tax corporations and extremely rich people so that the masses don’t live in fear (of having no healthcare, of being drafted into some idiotic war, of having their jobs taken away by machines, etc), all while not simply subsidizing things with money that we don’t have.

My feeling is that that kind of person is neither a “Democrat” or a “Republican”.

Hopefully, but, hopefully the Democrats can actually do something to make things better. Subsidizing “whatever” with money we don’t have is not really a solution. Somehow, somebody needs to explain to the populace that we don’t have money, and we need to start living within our means for a change. Deflation is desperately needed.

Is deflation the answer. What happens when everyones house is underwater. Seems to me deflation will crash the system making everyone worse off.
The rich just get less rich the poor get desperate
Maybe just stabilize the system. Balance the budget. Let wages catch up.
Imo the issue is we are well off as a nation.
There is a whole world of people willing to work for less. Pulling their standard of living up and ours down. .

You are a bit innocent of how Congress works. You have to think of Congress as a group of people whose sole role in the world is to fight for the competing interests of corporate America and wealthy international financiers. The American people are there to simply add legitimacy by voting for one of the corporate financed candidates. Until corporate America stop benefiting from war, exploitation of other country’s resources, the desperation of the poor, et al., there can be no peace candidate. This is all thanks to the Citizen’s United decision provided by our conservative Supreme Court. It was a very quiet coup d’etat.

Sending big US Navy ships through gauges Iran’s willingness to back up its threats with military action. But it comes at a risk Iran will back up their threats.

Another Dump on Trump post. Yawn.

Sorry Mish. I’ve followed you for over 20 years but it’s time to move on. You’ve become “one of those boomers”

You lost a lot of followers going down the Trump Hate rabbit hole. You’ll most likely lose the rest when he’s gone.

I’m moving on to bloggers that keep a more cleared eyed focus on economics that also cover relevant and pertinent developements around the world; like you use to do.

A quick look has already shown me a lot is flying under your radar.

The chat will probably gladly say “so long Maga scumbag.” Whatever. They are only capable of saying “hate trump”, “hate usa”, “hate jews” anyways. What a bunch of useless noise. You’ve gathered quite the crowd around you.

Truth is, I hate Trump like most people here, and for what he has done to me personally and to my country. Not just because “I dont like his style, that I am finacially benefitting from.”

We are going to go through 4 more years of WEF sponsored managed decline because of him. Canada may very well not survive it.

I do believe we will eventually become the 51st state. Not because Trump takes us over but because we’ll be begging some future US president to save us from the “New World Order” watermelons that are tearing our country apart.

And we’ll be the lucky ones. Europe has nobody to save them. Many applauded the Davos speech. I looked into low cost of living countries to bail out to.

In your prime you would have been on top of this. Now your part of it.

Best of luck Mish. It has been a wild ride. You introduced me to libertarianism and gave me a sack of cash from the housing bubble. It was fun while it lasted.
I’ll miss you.

It’s great to be reminded about the Netanyahu corruption trials, because in a way I think this explains why Trump went along with Netanyahu–he finds him to be a kindred soul. Netanyahu is accused in multiple cases of a pattern of granting political and regulatory favors to wealthy businessmen in exchange for luxury gifts or positive media coverage. He has characterized the investigations as a politically motivated “witch hunt”. Sound familar? Bottom line–Trump just plain likes/admires Bibi and so will support him until it becomes so politically painful that he has to stop.

Dr. Frankenstein’s team (Tucker, MGT, Megyn, Alex) don’t like the monster they created? Remember these guys fed every conspiracy theory with low cost gasoline (pun intended) to rage the fire hotter and now its burning too hot and the fuel is too expensive but it’s out of control. Throwing water on a hot fire just makes it grow hotter now, just see Trumps comments.

But these comments illustrate something else:

None of them are “Low IQ” although one might claim they were stupid to support Trump as much as they did in the past.

All that’s left is boot lickers, paid Zionist shills, and losers who have no identity outside of kissing Trump’s ass.

Last one off the titanic. Be aware.

You can gauge the level of intelligence of these people by how slow or fast they were to abandon Trump and the Trumptanic. This happened exactly in this way with his first administration and the dumb ones didn’t really learn anything. Kudos to Chris Christie (high IQ) to be one of the first off the Trumptanic I and staying off of it for Trumptanic II (the final Trumpacolypse).

Trump is likely to attempt a coup at the midterms but with so many of his own base hating him now, it won’t go well. Those January Sixers may eagerly show up now to dethrone the clown instead of defending him.

Do worry, Trump will find a way to make things even worse.™

“I have said this before but it’s worth repeating. Trump values loyalty much more than he wants to win any election.”

Yup. Because he is a narcissist. They create chaos and conflict in order to dominate and control relationships. In the beginning, they love bomb you to get you hooked and under their control. Then they start manipulating you in order to isolate you from existing social connections so they can establish dominance. Chaos and conflict. Then they’ve got you. If you try to stand up for yourself, or think of escaping, here comes the gaslighting. You’re blamed for what they did or they caused. Projecting, they accuse you of what they themselves are doing/have done. The mistake you can make here is arguing with them. They LOVE the argument because in the argument they feel fulfilled. They have all your attention. Due to their low sense of self awareness, a trait of all narcissists, they feel no shame from their behavior or their lies . Of course, this behavior actually originates out of a very deep sense of insecurity.

Two distinctly different realities and “The Voice of America” has been drown out by
Fox/CNBC. This war/banking network is far more pervasive and effective than any of us give it credit for. They own the global quoting and press networks for goodness sakes!

One thing is for sure ~ the Democrats need to field moderate and competent people, to be effective “IF” they win the mid-terms. Winning elections is one thing, governing effectively with the size of the problems we have will be difficult and take skill, dedication and competence to right the ship.

Trump/Vance will provide “Blanket Pardons” for himself and his core network of oligarchs. The Fox controlled press will try to destroy those that would temper the expansion of AI & Israel.

If you are still a Trump supporter at this point maybe it is time to get help. Some former supporters seem to be saying that Trump has changed in order to justify their original error in following him. If that is what you need to tell yourself in order to get back to reality fine. But really he has not changed that much the only difference is that the Supreme Court basically told him he could do whatever he wants so he went on a power trip, made a big mess, and now he is panicking and desperate. But this is the same guy that got elected in 2016 and was friends with Putin and Epstein etc. The signs were all there. Then January 6th. Whoever supported him shares the blame in all that happens until he is no longer in power and maybe long after since it is going to take time to right the ship. No excuses. Including Tucker, Alex, and friends and GOP congressmen who did nothing to reign him in.

The guys on the USS FORD did not wait for Congress to vote on the War Powers Act, Impeachment, the 25th, nor wait for the midterms.

Like everything else Trump, MAGA was always a fake. Even Trump knew this. Many Americans have been duped but the truth is Trump doesnt care as long as he finds the next sucker. Wall Street loves him these days. Trump always wanted to be loved by the bankers and traders. He doesnt care if he destroys everything if he is loved. This is Machiavellian stuff playing out.

Some information about Trump in

https://www.unz.com/runz/is-donald-trump-facing-a-military-mutiny-over-his-losing-war-with-iran/

At the end of this article, an interview with journalist Michael Wolff, who has taken a great interest in Trump, is mentioned:

“In it, Wolff explained that the deep secret to understanding Trump was to recognize that he was a profoundly stupid man, so profoundly stupid that he never realized just how stupid he was. Since Trump never read nor understood almost anything, that explained the erratic, inconsistent, illogical nature of his statements and his behavior.
Given Trump’s uncouth stupidity, he sometimes said popular things that no other politician would dare to say. So his eager followers seized upon those, projecting unto him their fondest ideological hopes and aspirations while ignoring all his other ridiculous utterances.”

He isn’t stupid. stupid people are ineffective. Stupid people don’t become billionaires and POTUS, even if they are corrupt. you can’t be stupid and manipulate a population into electing you.

the problem is people judge his actions based on the stated goals or what is best for the world and so you say look what an idiot he is on Iran. but this is wrong because for him, he’s just doing what is best for him. what gets him more power, or what he thinks demonstrates his power.

His super power is making folks believe he is smarter than he actually is (or thinks he is) lol.

MAGA has transformed from Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens , Marjorie taylor green, Alex jones, Megan Kelley and Thomas Massie to Lyndsey Graham, Mark LeVine, and ben Shapiro. Let’s also include the Big tech billionaire Oligarchs and Zionist billionaires who fund him to support their forever wars for Israel-and the rest of the Epstein class. If not for the dwindling tens of millions of Christian Zionist dispensationalist wackos he would have virtually no numerical support. I expect his approval rating will get as low as 15%-far less if not for the Christian Zionist wackos who form a base of support.

This transformation is a standard feature. Take a successful movement, ingrain oneself with flattery, guile and blackmail, hollow out original defenders/builders like a cuckoo chick and then bend the moment to one’s agenda and will. It is skill honed across centuries. Ah yes, have lawfare tools ready and in place to attack and prosecute those who see through the veil and fight back.

Hitler did the same with the brown shirts and had them executed, as you rightly say standard wannabe dictator playbook stuff. MAGA you are such losers and you backed the wrong horse.

Iran is Trumps Operation Barbarossa moment and its all downhill from here on. Unfortunately the reputational damage to the US is irreparable.

Sounds like what they did in 2009 when they co-opted the tea party movement.

Exactly. The Tea Party was inspiring, but ended up captured by the likes of Cruz. Much like the first Tea Party, which led to Washington leading the new Usonian army into its first battle against Usonians.

I’m not sure. Trump’s core of support is basically a cult.

They’re immune to facts, logic, morality, evidence and everything else. They’ve outsourced their thinking to the cult leader.

Trump is chasing so many former loyalists away that it is getting to the point when nobody else will be in the room ….and then the Donald will have to out the lights.. And close the door behind him.

Did you not vote for him in 2016 and by announcing it encourage your subscribers to do the same? I know, maybe that’s ancient history, but surely you’re in part (a small part) to blame, yes?

I have read Mish for over a decade. He may have voted for Trump, but Mish himself has always identified mostly as a Libertarian.

This term, Trump has been so bad! Mish has not backed off pointing out the many outrageous actions of this administration, even at personal cost of this blog, which Mish has tirelessly built over the past two decades.

I don’t really fault anyone for their vote in 2016. Trump may have looked better to many than yet another 4 years of a Clinton.

I agree mostly. I think a lot of Mish’ analysis is spot on but where he misses it is usually because he assumed actors will play by certain rules. I remember around the financial and then the euro crisis that Mish analysis assumed central banks not to overstep their official mandates. That was proven wrong. I saw the same in when hé defended Trump: he pointed to things trump said he’d do, assuming some exaggeration but not the level of lying trump was actually capable of.

voting for him is 2016 is bad, but somewhat understandable, voting for him in 2024 after the shit he pulled on Jan 6 and the election denialism etc.. . is completely different.

Nah. Voting for him in 2016 was not understandable. He was Donald Trump. A complete racist, misogynistic, uncouth idiot. I refused to vote for him or Clinton. That was an election everyone should have voted 3rd party out of protest.

Agreed, the historical context that in 2016 Trump’s opponent was HIlary Clinton is a critical point. Trump’s first administration was marked by several failures though, such as the imposition of tariffs, walking away from the Iran deal, not achieving anything on health care, etc. He really didn’t deserve a second chance. I couldn’t understand why MAGA supported him in 2024, and can’t understand why any remnants of MAGA stay with him now in 2026.

Admitting your wrong is one thing, but when the highest office in the country is constantly embroiled in hostility, it is entirely reasonable to view that not as a strategic advantage, but as a profound liability. I doubt that Pope Leo will be visiting the United States until trump is gone.
